يَٰٓأَيُّهَا اَ۬لنَّاسُ اُ۪تَّقُواْ رَبَّكُمُۥٓۖ إِنَّ زَلْزَلَةَ اَ۬لسَّاعَةِ شَےْءٌ عَظِيمٞۖ ﰀ

Yâ'ayyuhâ nnâsu ttaqû rabbakumû inna zalzalata ssâ‘ati shay'un ‘azîm

O hommes! Craignez votre Seigneur. Le séisme [qui précédera] l'Heure est une chose terrible

O mankind, fear your Lord. Indeed, the convulsion of the [final] Hour is a terrible thing

يَوْمَ تَرَوْنَهَا تَذْهَلُ كُلُّ مُرْضِعَةٍ عَمَّآ أَرْضَعَتْ وَتَضَعُ كُلُّ ذَاتِ حَمْلٍ حَمْلَهَا وَتَرَى اَ۬لنَّاسَ سُكَٰر۪ىٰ وَمَا هُم بِسُكَٰر۪ىٰ وَلَٰكِنَّ عَذَابَ اَ۬للَّهِ شَدِيدٞۖ ﰁ

Yawma tarawnahâ tadhhalu kullu murdi‘atin ‘ammâ arda‘at watada‘u kullu dhâti hamlin hamlahâ watarâ nnâsa sukârê wamâ hum bisukârê walâkinna ‘adhâba llâhi shadîd

Le jour où vous le verrez, toute nourrice oubliera ce qu'elle allaitait, et toute femelle enceinte avortera de ce qu'elle portait. Et tu verras les gens ivres, alors qu'ils ne le sont pas. Mais le châtiment d'Allah est dur

On the Day you see it every nursing mother will be distracted from that [child] she was nursing, and every pregnant woman will abort her pregnancy, and you will see the people [appearing] intoxicated while they are not intoxicated; but the punishment of Allah is severe

وَمِنَ اَ۬لنَّاسِ مَنْ يُّجَٰدِلُ فِے اِ۬للَّهِ بِغَيْرِ عِلْمٖ وَيَتَّبِعُ كُلَّ شَيْطَٰنٖ مَّرِيدٖ ﰂ

Wamina nnâsi may yujâdilu fî llâhi bighayri ‘ilmin wayattabi‘u kulla shaytânim marîd

Et il y a des gens qui discutent au sujet d'Allah sans aucune science, et qui suivent tout diable rebelle

And of the people is he who disputes about Allah without knowledge and follows every rebellious devil

كُتِبَ عَلَيْهِ أَنَّهُۥ مَن تَوَلّ۪اهُ فَأَنَّهُۥ يُضِلُّهُۥ وَيَهْدِيهِ إِلَىٰ عَذَابِ اِ۬لسَّعِيرِۖ ﰃ

Kutiba ‘alayhi annahû man tawallêhu fa'annahû yudilluhû wayahdîhi ilâ ‘adhâbi ssa‘îr

Il a été prescrit à l'égard de ce dernier qu'il égarera quiconque le prendra pour maître, et qu'il le guidera vers le châtiment de la fournaise

It has been decreed for every devil that whoever turns to him - he will misguide him and will lead him to the punishment of the Blaze

يَٰٓأَيُّهَا اَ۬لنَّاسُ إِن كُنتُمْ فِے رَيْبٖ مِّنَ اَ۬لْبَعْثِ فَإِنَّا خَلَقْنَٰكُم مِّن تُرَابٖ ثُمَّ مِن نُّطْفَةٖ ثُمَّ مِنْ عَلَقَةٖ ثُمَّ مِن مُّضْغَةٖ مُّخَلَّقَةٖ وَغَيْرِ مُخَلَّقَةٖ لِّنُبَيِّنَ لَكُمْۖ وَنُقِرُّ فِے اِ۬لَارْحَامِ مَا نَشَآءُ اِ۪لَىٰٓ أَجَلٖ مُّسَمّىٗۖ ثُمَّ نُخْرِجُكُمْ طِفْلاٗ ثُمَّ لِتَبْلُغُوٓاْ أَشُدَّكُمْۖ وَمِنكُم مَّنْ يُّتَوَفّ۪ىٰ وَمِنكُم مَّنْ يُّرَدُّ إِلَىٰٓ أَرْذَلِ اِ۬لْعُمُرِ لِكَيْلَا يَعْلَمَ مِنۢ بَعْدِ عِلْمٖ شَئْاٗۖ وَتَرَى اَ۬لَارْضَ هَامِدَةٗ فَإِذَآ أَنزَلْنَا عَلَيْهَا اَ۬لْمَآءَ اَ۪هْتَزَّتْ وَرَبَتْ وَأَنۢبَتَتْ مِن كُلِّ زَوْجِۢ بَهِيجٖۖ ﰄ

Yâ'ayyuhâ nnâsu in kuntum fî raybim mina lba‘thi fa'innâ khalaqnâkum min turâbin thumma min nutfatin thumma min ‘alaqatin thumma mim mudghatim mukhallaqatin waghayri mukhallaqatil linubayyina lakum wanuqirru fî larhâmi mâ nashâ'u lâ ajalim musamman thumma nukhrijukum tiflan thumma litablughû ashuddakum waminkum may yutawaffê waminkum may yuraddu ilâ ardhali l‘umuri likaylâ ya‘lama mim ba‘di ‘ilmin shay'an watarâ larda hâmidatan fa'idhâ anzalnâ ‘alayhâ lmâ'a htazzat warabat wa'ambatat min kulli zawjim bahîj

O hommes! Si vous doutez au sujet de la Résurrection, c'est Nous qui vous avons créés de terre, puis d'une goutte de sperme, puis d'une adhérence puis d'un embryon [normalement] formé aussi bien qu'informe pour vous montrer [Notre Omnipotence] et Nous déposerons dans les matrices ce que Nous voulons jusqu'à un terme fixé. Puis Nous vous en sortirons [à l'état] de bébé, pour qu'ensuite vous atteignez votre maturité. Il en est parmi vous qui meurent [jeunes] tandis que d'autres parviennent au plus vil de l'âge si bien qu'ils ne savent plus rien de ce qu'ils connaissaient auparavant. De même tu vois la terre desséchée: dès que Nous y faisons descendre de l'eau elle remue, se gonfle, et fait pousser toutes sortes de splendides couples de végétaux

O People, if you should be in doubt about the Resurrection, then [consider that] indeed, We created you from dust, then from a sperm-drop, then from a clinging clot, and then from a lump of flesh, formed and unformed - that We may show you. And We settle in the wombs whom We will for a specified term, then We bring you out as a child, and then [We develop you] that you may reach your [time of] maturity. And among you is he who is taken in [early] death, and among you is he who is returned to the most decrepit [old] age so that he knows, after [once having] knowledge, nothing. And you see the earth barren, but when We send down upon it rain, it quivers and swells and grows [something] of every beautiful kind

ذَٰلِكَ بِأَنَّ اَ۬للَّهَ هُوَ اَ۬لْحَقُّ وَأَنَّهُۥ يُحْيِ اِ۬لْمَوْت۪ىٰ وَأَنَّهُۥ عَلَىٰ كُلِّ شَےْءٖ قَدِيرٞ ﰅ

Dhâlika bi'anna llâha huwa lhaqqu wa'annahû yuhyi lmawtê wa'annahû ‘alâ kulli shay'in qadîr

Il en est ainsi parce qu'Allah est la vérité; et c'est Lui qui rend la vie aux morts; et c'est Lui qui est Omnipotent

That is because Allah is the Truth and because He gives life to the dead and because He is over all things competent

وَأَنَّ اَ۬لسَّاعَةَ ءَاتِيَةٞ لَّا رَيْبَ فِيهَا وَأَنَّ اَ۬للَّهَ يَبْعَثُ مَن فِے اِ۬لْقُبُورِۖ ﰆ

Wa'anna ssâ‘ata âtiyatul lâ rayba fîhâ wa'anna llâha yab‘athu man fî lqubûr

Et que l'Heure arrivera; pas de doute à son sujet, et qu'Allah ressuscitera ceux qui sont dans les tombeaux

And [that they may know] that the Hour is coming - no doubt about it - and that Allah will resurrect those in the graves

وَمِنَ اَ۬لنَّاسِ مَنْ يُّجَٰدِلُ فِے اِ۬للَّهِ بِغَيْرِ عِلْمٖ وَلَا هُدىٗ وَلَا كِتَٰبٖ مُّنِيرٖ ﰇ

Wamina nnâsi may yujâdilu fî llâhi bighayri ‘ilmin walâ hudan walâ kitâbim munîr

Or, il y a des gens qui discutent au sujet d'Allah sans aucune science, ni guide, ni Livre pour les éclairer

And of the people is he who disputes about Allah without knowledge or guidance or an enlightening book [from Him]

ثَانِيَ عِطْفِهِۦ لِيُضِلَّ عَن سَبِيلِ اِ۬للَّهِۖ لَهُۥ فِے اِ۬لدُّنْي۪ا خِزْيٞۖ وَنُذِيقُهُۥ يَوْمَ اَ۬لْقِيَٰمَةِ عَذَابَ اَ۬لْحَرِيقِۖ ﰈ

Thâniya ‘itfihî liyudilla ‘an sabîli llâhi lahû fî ddunyê khizyun wanudhîquhû yawma lqiyâmati ‘adhâba lharîq

affichant une attitude orgueilleuse pour égarer les gens du sentier d'Allah. A lui l'ignominie ici-bas; et Nous Lui ferons goûter le Jour de la Résurrection, le châtiment de la fournaise

Twisting his neck [in arrogance] to mislead [people] from the way of Allah. For him in the world is disgrace, and We will make him taste on the Day of Resurrection the punishment of the Burning Fire [while it is said]

ذَٰلِكَ بِمَا قَدَّمَتْ يَدَٰكَ وَأَنَّ اَ۬للَّهَ لَيْسَ بِظَلَّٰمٖ لِّلْعَبِيدِۖ ﰉ

Dhâlika bimâ qaddamat yadâka wa'anna llâha laysa bizallâmil lil‘abîd

Voilà, pour ce que tes deux mains ont préparé (ici-bas)! Cependant, Allah n'est point injuste envers Ses serviteurs

That is for what your hands have put forth and because Allah is not ever unjust to [His] servants

۞ وَمِنَ اَ۬لنَّاسِ مَنْ يَّعْبُدُ اُ۬للَّهَ عَلَىٰ حَرْفٖ فَإِنَ اَصَابَهُۥ خَيْرٌ اِ۪طْمَأَنَّ بِهِۦ وَإِنَ اَصَابَتْهُ فِتْنَةٌ اِ۪نقَلَبَ عَلَىٰ وَجْهِهِۦ خَسِرَ اَ۬لدُّنْي۪ا وَالَاخِرَةَۖ ذَٰلِكَ هُوَ اَ۬لْخُسْرَانُ اُ۬لْمُبِينُۖ ﰊ

Wamina nnâsi may ya‘budu llâha ‘alâ harfin fa'ina sâbahû khayruni tma'anna bihî wa'ina sâbathu fitnatuni nqalaba ‘alâ wajhihî khasira ddunyê walakhirata dhâlika huwa lkhusrânu lmubîn

Il en est parmi les gens qui adorent Allah marginalement. S'il leur arrive un bien, ils s'en tranquillisent, et s'il leur arrive une épreuve, ils détournent leur visage, perdant ainsi (le bien) de l'ici-bas et de l'au-delà. Telle est la perte évidente

And of the people is he who worships Allah on an edge. If he is touched by good, he is reassured by it; but if he is struck by trial, he turns on his face [to the other direction]. He has lost [this] world and the Hereafter. That is what is the manifest loss

يَدْعُواْ مِن دُونِ اِ۬للَّهِ مَا لَا يَضُرُّهُۥ وَمَا لَا يَنفَعُهُۥۖ ذَٰلِكَ هُوَ اَ۬لضَّلَٰلُ اُ۬لْبَعِيدُ ﰋ

Yad‘û min dûni llâhi mâ lâ yadurruhû wamâ lâ yanfa‘uhû dhâlika huwa ddalâlu lba‘îd

Ils invoquent en dehors d'Allah, ce qui ne peut ni leur nuire ni leur profiter. Tel est l'égarement profond

He invokes instead of Allah that which neither harms him nor benefits him. That is what is the extreme error

يَدْعُواْۖ لَمَن ضَرُّهُۥٓ أَقْرَبُ مِن نَّفْعِهِۦ لَبِيسَ اَ۬لْمَوْل۪ىٰ وَلَبِيسَ اَ۬لْعَشِيرُۖ ﰌ

Yad‘û laman darruhû aqrabu min naf‘ihî labîsa lmawlê walabîsa l‘ashîr

Ils invoquent ce dont le mal est certainement plus proche que l'utilité. Quel mauvais allié, et quel mauvais compagnon

He invokes one whose harm is closer than his benefit - how wretched the protector and how wretched the associate

إِنَّ اَ۬للَّهَ يُدْخِلُ اُ۬لذِينَ ءَامَنُواْ وَعَمِلُواْ اُ۬لصَّٰلِحَٰتِ جَنَّٰتٖ تَجْرِے مِن تَحْتِهَا اَ۬لَانْهَٰرُۖ إِنَّ اَ۬للَّهَ يَفْعَلُ مَا يُرِيدُۖ ﰍ

Inna llâha yudkhilu lladhîna âmanû wa‘amilû ssâlihâti jannâtin tajrî min tahtihâ lanhâru inna llâha yaf‘alu mâ yurîd

Ceux qui croient et font de bonnes œuvres, Allah les fait entrer aux Jardins sous lesquels coulent les ruisseaux, car Allah fait certes ce qu'Il veut

Indeed, Allah will admit those who believe and do righteous deeds to gardens beneath which rivers flow. Indeed, Allah does what He intends

مَن كَانَ يَظُنُّ أَن لَّنْ يَّنصُرَهُ اُ۬للَّهُ فِے اِ۬لدُّنْي۪ا وَالَاخِرَةِ فَلْيَمْدُدْ بِسَبَبٍ اِلَى اَ۬لسَّمَآءِ ثُمَّ لِيَقْطَعْ فَلْيَنظُرْ هَلْ يُذْهِبَنَّ كَيْدُهُۥ مَا يَغِيظُۖ ﰎ

Man kâna yazunnu al lay yansurahu llâhu fî ddunyê walakhirati falyamdud bisababini lâ ssamâ'i thumma liyaqta‘ falyanzur hal yudhhibanna kayduhû mâ yaghîz

Celui qui pense qu'Allah ne le secourra pas dans l'ici-bas et dans l'au-delà qu'il tende une corde jusqu'au ciel, puis qu'il la coupe, et qu'il voie si sa ruse va faire disparaître ce qui l'enrage

Whoever should think that Allah will not support [Prophet Muhammad] in this world and the Hereafter - let him extend a rope to the ceiling, then cut off [his breath], and let him see: will his effort remove that which enrages [him]

وَكَذَٰلِكَ أَنزَلْنَٰهُ ءَايَٰتِۢ بَيِّنَٰتٖۖ وَأَنَّ اَ۬للَّهَ يَهْدِے مَنْ يُّرِيدُۖ ﰏ

Wakadhâlika anzalnâhu âyâtim bayyinâtin wa'anna llâha yahdî may yurîd

C'est ainsi que Nous le fîmes descendre (Le Coran) en versets clairs et qu'Allah guide qui Il veut

And thus have We sent the Qur'an down as verses of clear evidence and because Allah guides whom He intends

إِنَّ اَ۬لذِينَ ءَامَنُواْ وَالذِينَ هَادُواْ وَالصَّٰبِينَ وَالنَّصَٰر۪ىٰ وَالْمَجُوسَ وَالذِينَ أَشْرَكُوٓاْ إِنَّ اَ۬للَّهَ يَفْصِلُ بَيْنَهُمْ يَوْمَ اَ۬لْقِيَٰمَةِۖ إِنَّ اَ۬للَّهَ عَلَىٰ كُلِّ شَےْءٖ شَهِيدٌۖ ﰐ

Inna lladhîna âmanû walladhîna hâdû wassâbîna wannasârê walmajûsa walladhîna ashrakû inna llâha yafsilu baynahum yawma lqiyâmati inna llâha ‘alâ kulli shay'in shahîd

Certes, ceux qui ont cru, les Juifs, les Sabéens [les adorateurs des étoiles], les Nazaréens, les Mages et ceux qui donnent à Allah des associés, Allah tranchera entre eux le jour du Jugement, car Allah est certes témoin de toute chose

Indeed, those who have believed and those who were Jews and the Sabeans and the Christians and the Magians and those who associated with Allah - Allah will judge between them on the Day of Resurrection. Indeed Allah is, over all things, Witness

اَلَمْ تَرَ أَنَّ اَ۬للَّهَ يَسْجُدُ لَهُۥ مَن فِے اِ۬لسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَمَن فِے اِ۬لَارْضِ وَالشَّمْسُ وَالْقَمَرُ وَالنُّجُومُ وَالْجِبَالُ وَالشَّجَرُ وَالدَّوَآبُّ وَكَثِيرٞ مِّنَ اَ۬لنَّاسِۖ وَكَثِيرٌ حَقَّ عَلَيْهِ اِ۬لْعَذَابُۖ وَمَنْ يُّهِنِ اِ۬للَّهُ فَمَا لَهُۥ مِن مُّكْرِمٍۖ اِنَّ اَ۬للَّهَ يَفْعَلُ مَا يَشَآءُۖ۩ ﰑ

Alam tara anna llâha yasjudu lahû man fî ssamâwâti waman fî lardi washshamsu walqamaru wannujûmu waljibâlu washshajaru waddawâbbu wakathîrum mina nnâsi wakathîrun haqqa ‘alayhi l‘adhâbu wamay yuhini llâhu famâ lahû mim mukrimini nna llâha yaf‘alu mâ yashâ'

N'as-tu pas vu que c'est devant Allah que se prosternent tous ceux qui sont dans les cieux et tous ceux qui sont sur la terre, le soleil, la lune, les étoiles, les montagnes, les arbres, les animaux, ainsi que beaucoup de gens? Il y en a aussi beaucoup qui méritent le châtiment. Et quiconque Allah avilit n'a personne pour l'honorer, car Allah fait ce qu'il veut

Do you not see that to Allah prostrates whoever is in the heavens and whoever is on the earth and the sun, the moon, the stars, the mountains, the trees, the moving creatures and many of the people? But upon many the punishment has been justified. And he whom Allah humiliates - for him there is no bestower of honor. Indeed, Allah does what He wills

۞ هَٰذَٰنِ خَصْمَٰنِ اِ۪خْتَصَمُواْ فِے رَبِّهِمْۖ فَالذِينَ كَفَرُواْ قُطِّعَتْ لَهُمْ ثِيَابٞ مِّن نّ۪ارٖ يُصَبُّ مِن فَوْقِ رُءُوسِهِمُ اُ۬لْحَمِيمُ يُصْهَرُ بِهِۦ مَا فِے بُطُونِهِمْ وَالْجُلُودُۖ وَلَهُم مَّقَٰمِعُ مِنْ حَدِيدٖۖ ﰒ

Hâdhâni khasmâni khtasamû fî rabbihim falladhîna kafarû qutti‘at lahum thiyâbum min nêrin yusabbu min fawqi ru'ûsihimu lhamîmu yusharu bihî mâ fî butûnihim waljulûdu walahum maqâmi‘u min hadîd

Voici deux clans adverses qui disputaient au sujet de leur Seigneur. A ceux qui ne croient pas, on taillera des vêtements de feu, tandis que sur leurs têtes on versera de l'eau bouillante qui fera fondre ce qui est dans leurs ventres de même que leurs peaux Et il y aura pour eux des maillets de fer

These are two adversaries who have disputed over their Lord. But those who disbelieved will have cut out for them garments of fire. Poured upon their heads will be scalding water By which is melted that within their bellies and [their] skins And for [striking] them are maces of iron

كُلَّمَآ أَرَادُوٓاْ أَنْ يَّخْرُجُواْ مِنْهَا مِنْ غَمٍّ ا۟عِيدُواْ فِيهَاۖ وَذُوقُواْ عَذَابَ اَ۬لْحَرِيقِۖ ﰓ

Kullamâ arâdû ay yakhrujû minhâ min ghammin u‘îdû fîhâ wadhûqû ‘adhâba lharîq

Toutes les fois qu'ils voudront en sortir (pour échapper) à la détresse, on les y remettra et (on leur dira): «Goûtez au châtiment de la Fournaise

Every time they want to get out of Hellfire from anguish, they will be returned to it, and [it will be said], "Taste the punishment of the Burning Fire

إِنَّ اَ۬للَّهَ يُدْخِلُ اُ۬لذِينَ ءَامَنُواْ وَعَمِلُواْ اُ۬لصَّٰلِحَٰتِ جَنَّٰتٖ تَجْرِے مِن تَحْتِهَا اَ۬لَانْهَٰرُ يُحَلَّوْنَ فِيهَا مِنَ اَسَاوِرَ مِن ذَهَبٖ وَلُؤْلُؤاٗۖ وَلِبَاسُهُمْ فِيهَا حَرِيرٞۖ ﰔ

Inna llâha yudkhilu lladhîna âmanû wa‘amilû ssâlihâti jannâtin tajrî min tahtihâ lanhâru yuhallawna fîhâ mina sâwira min dhahabin walu'lu'an walibâsuhum fîhâ harîr

Certes Allah introduit ceux qui croient et font de bonnes œuvres aux Jardins sous lesquels coulent les ruisseaux. Là, ils seront parés de bracelets d'or, et aussi de perles; et leurs vêtements y seront de soie

Indeed, Allah will admit those who believe and do righteous deeds to gardens beneath which rivers flow. They will be adorned therein with bracelets of gold and pearl, and their garments therein will be silk

وَهُدُوٓاْ إِلَى اَ۬لطَّيِّبِ مِنَ اَ۬لْقَوْلِۖ وَهُدُوٓاْ إِلَىٰ صِرَٰطِ اِ۬لْحَمِيدِۖ ﰕ

Wahudû ilâ ttayyibi mina lqawli wahudû ilâ sirâti lhamîd

Ils ont été guidés vers la bonne parole et ils ont été guidés vers le chemin Du Digne des louanges

And they had been guided [in worldly life] to good speech, and they were guided to the path of the Praiseworthy

إِنَّ اَ۬لذِينَ كَفَرُواْ وَيَصُدُّونَ عَن سَبِيلِ اِ۬للَّهِ وَالْمَسْجِدِ اِ۬لْحَرَامِ اِ۬لذِے جَعَلْنَٰهُ لِلنَّاسِ سَوَآءٌ اِ۬لْعَٰكِفُ فِيهِ وَالْبَادِۦۖ وَمَنْ يُّرِدْ فِيهِ بِإِلْحَادِۢ بِظُلْمٖ نُّذِقْهُ مِنْ عَذَابٍ اَلِيمٖۖ ﰖ

Inna lladhîna kafarû wayasuddûna ‘an sabîli llâhi walmasjidi lharâmi lladhî ja‘alnâhu linnâsi sawâ'uni l‘âkifu fîhi walbâdî wamay yurid fîhi bi'ilhâdim bizulmin nudhiqhu min ‘adhâbina lîm

Mais ceux qui mécroient et qui obstruent le sentier d'Allah et celui de la Mosquée sacrée, que Nous avons établie pour les gens: aussi bien les résidents que ceux de passage... Quiconque cherche à y commettre un sacrilège injustement, Nous lui ferons goûter un châtiment douloureux

Indeed, those who have disbelieved and avert [people] from the way of Allah and [from] al-Masjid al-Haram, which We made for the people - equal are the resident therein and one from outside; and [also] whoever intends [a deed] therein of deviation [in religion] or wrongdoing - We will make him taste of a painful punishment

وَإِذْ بَوَّأْنَا لِإِبْرَٰهِيمَ مَكَانَ اَ۬لْبَيْتِ أَن لَّا تُشْرِكْ بِے شَئْاٗۖ وَطَهِّرْ بَيْتِيَ لِلطَّآئِفِينَ وَالْقَآئِمِينَ وَالرُّكَّعِ اِ۬لسُّجُودِۖ ﰗ

Wa'idh bawwa'nâ li'ibrâhîma makâna lbayti al lâ tushrik bî shay'an watahhir baytiya littâ'ifîna walqâ'imîna warrukka‘i ssujûd

Et quand Nous indiquâmes pour Abraham le lieu de la Maison (La Kaaba) [en lui disant]: «Ne M'associe rien; et purifie Ma Maison pour ceux qui tournent autour, pour ceux qui s'y tiennent debout et pour ceux qui s'y inclinent et se prosternent»

And [mention, O Muhammad], when We designated for Abraham the site of the House, [saying], "Do not associate anything with Me and purify My House for those who perform Tawaf and those who stand [in prayer] and those who bow and prostrate

وَأَذِّن فِے اِ۬لنَّاسِ بِالْحَجِّ يَاتُوكَ رِجَالاٗ وَعَلَىٰ كُلِّ ضَامِرٖ يَاتِينَ مِن كُلِّ فَجٍّ عَمِيقٖ ﰘ

Wa'adhdhin fî nnâsi bilhajji yâtûka rijâlan wa‘alâ kulli dâmirin yâtîna min kulli fajjin ‘amîq

Et fais aux gens une annonce pour le Hajj. Ils viendront vers toi, à pied, et aussi sur toute monture, venant de tout chemin éloigné

And proclaim to the people the Hajj [pilgrimage]; they will come to you on foot and on every lean camel; they will come from every distant pass

لِّيَشْهَدُواْ مَنَٰفِعَ لَهُمْ وَيَذْكُرُواْ اُ۪سْمَ اَ۬للَّهِ فِےٓ أَيَّامٖ مَّعْلُومَٰتٍ عَلَىٰ مَا رَزَقَهُم مِّنۢ بَهِيمَةِ اِ۬لَانْعَٰمِۖ فَكُلُواْ مِنْهَا وَأَطْعِمُواْ اُ۬لْبَآئِسَ اَ۬لْفَقِيرَۖ ﰙ

Liyashhadû manâfi‘a lahum wayadhkurû sma llâhi fî ayyâmim ma‘lûmâtin ‘alâ mâ razaqahum mim bahîmati lan‘âmi fakulû minhâ wa'at‘imû lbâ'isa lfaqîr

pour participer aux avantages qui leur ont été accordés et pour invoquer le nom d'Allah aux jours fixés, sur la bête de cheptel qu'Il leur a attribuée, «Mangez-en vous-mêmes et faites-en manger le besogneux misérable

That they may witness benefits for themselves and mention the name of Allah on known days over what He has provided for them of [sacrificial] animals. So eat of them and feed the miserable and poor

ثُمَّ لِيَقْضُواْ تَفَثَهُمْ وَلْيُوفُواْ نُذُورَهُمْ وَلْيَطَّوَّفُواْ بِالْبَيْتِ اِ۬لْعَتِيقِۖ ﰚ

Thumma liyaqdû tafathahum walyûfû nudhûrahum walyattawwafû bilbayti l‘atîq

Puis qu'ils mettent fin à leurs interdits (qu'ils nettoient leurs corps), qu'ils remplissent leurs vœux, et qu'ils fassent les circuits autour de l'Antique Maison»

Then let them end their untidiness and fulfill their vows and perform Tawaf around the ancient House

۞ ذَٰلِكَۖ وَمَنْ يُّعَظِّمْ حُرُمَٰتِ اِ۬للَّهِ فَهُوَ خَيْرٞ لَّهُۥ عِندَ رَبِّهِۦۖ وَأُحِلَّتْ لَكُمُ اُ۬لَانْعَٰمُ إِلَّا مَا يُتْل۪ىٰ عَلَيْكُمْۖ فَاجْتَنِبُواْ اُ۬لرِّجْسَ مِنَ اَ۬لَاوْثَٰنِ وَاجْتَنِبُواْ قَوْلَ اَ۬لزُّورِ ﰛ

Dhâlika wamay yu‘azzim hurumâti llâhi fahuwa khayrul lahû ‘inda rabbihî wa'uhillat lakumu lan‘âmu illâ mâ yutlê ‘alaykum fajtanibû rrijsa mina lawthâni wajtanibû qawla zzûr

Voilà [ce qui doit être observé] et quiconque prend en haute considération les limites sacrées d'Allah cela lui sera meilleur auprès de son Seigneur. Le bétail, sauf ce qu'on vous a cité, vous a été rendu licite. Abstenez-vous de la souillure des idoles et abstenez-vous des paroles mensongères

That [has been commanded], and whoever honors the sacred ordinances of Allah - it is best for him in the sight of his Lord. And permitted to you are the grazing livestock, except what is recited to you. So avoid the uncleanliness of idols and avoid false statement

حُنَفَآءَ لِلهِ غَيْرَ مُشْرِكِينَ بِهِۦۖ وَمَنْ يُّشْرِكْ بِاللَّهِ فَكَأَنَّمَا خَرَّ مِنَ اَ۬لسَّمَآءِ فَتَخَطَّفُهُ اُ۬لطَّيْرُ أَوْ تَهْوِے بِهِ اِ۬لرِّيحُ فِے مَكَانٖ سَحِيقٖۖ ﰜ

Hunafâ'a lillâhi ghayra mushrikîna bihî wamay yushrik billâhi faka'annamâ kharra mina ssamâ'i fatakhattafuhu ttayru aw tahwî bihi rrîhu fî makânin sahîq

(Soyez) exclusivement [acquis à la religion] d'Allah ne Lui associez rien; car quiconque associe à Allah, c'est comme s'il tombait du haut du ciel et que les oiseaux le happaient, ou que le vent le précipitait dans un abîme très profond

Inclining [only] to Allah, not associating [anything] with Him. And he who associates with Allah - it is as though he had fallen from the sky and was snatched by the birds or the wind carried him down into a remote place

ذَٰلِكَۖ وَمَنْ يُّعَظِّمْ شَعَٰٓئِرَ اَ۬للَّهِ فَإِنَّهَا مِن تَقْوَى اَ۬لْقُلُوبِۖ ﰝ

Dhâlika wamay yu‘azzim sha‘â'ira llâhi fa'innahâ min taqwâ lqulûb

Voilà [ce qui est prescrit]. Et quiconque exalte les injonctions sacrées d'Allah, s'inspire en effet de la piété des cœurs

That [is so]. And whoever honors the symbols of Allah - indeed, it is from the piety of hearts

لَكُمْ فِيهَا مَنَٰفِعُ إِلَىٰٓ أَجَلٖ مُّسَمّىٗ ثُمَّ مَحِلُّهَآ إِلَى اَ۬لْبَيْتِ اِ۬لْعَتِيقِۖ ﰞ

Lakum fîhâ manâfi‘u ilâ ajalim musamman thumma mahilluhâ ilâ lbayti l‘atîq

[De ces bêtes-là] vous tirez des avantages jusqu'à un terme fixé; puis son lieu d'immolation est auprès de l'Antique Maison

For you the animals marked for sacrifice are benefits for a specified term; then their place of sacrifice is at the ancient House

وَلِكُلِّ أُمَّةٖ جَعَلْنَا مَنسَكاٗ لِّيَذْكُرُواْ اُ۪سْمَ اَ۬للَّهِ عَلَىٰ مَا رَزَقَهُم مِّنۢ بَهِيمَةِ اِ۬لَانْعَٰمِۖ فَإِلَٰهُكُمُۥٓ إِلَٰهٞ وَٰحِدٞۖ فَلَهُۥٓ أَسْلِمُواْۖ وَبَشِّرِ اِ۬لْمُخْبِتِينَ ﰟ

Walikulli ummatin ja‘alnâ mansakal liyadhkurû sma llâhi ‘alâ mâ razaqahum mim bahîmati lan‘âmi fa'ilâhukumû ilâhun wâhidun falahû aslimû wabashshiri lmukhbitîn

A chaque communauté, Nous avons assigné un rite sacrificiel, afin qu'ils prononcent le nom d'Allah sur la bête de cheptel qu'Il leur a attribuée. Votre Dieu est certes un Dieu unique. Soumettez-vous donc à Lui. Et fais bonne annonce à ceux qui s'humilient

And for all religion We have appointed a rite [of sacrifice] that they may mention the name of Allah over what He has provided for them of [sacrificial] animals. For your god is one God, so to Him submit. And, [O Muhammad], give good tidings to the humble [before their Lord]

اَ۬لذِينَ إِذَا ذُكِرَ اَ۬للَّهُ وَجِلَتْ قُلُوبُهُمْ وَالصَّٰبِرِينَ عَلَىٰ مَآ أَصَابَهُمْ وَالْمُقِيمِے اِ۬لصَّلَوٰةِ وَمِمَّا رَزَقْنَٰهُمْ يُنفِقُونَۖ ﰠ

Alladhîna idhâ dhukira llâhu wajilat qulûbuhum wassâbirîna ‘alâ mâ asâbahum walmuqîmî ssalawâti wamimmâ razaqnâhum yunfiqûn

ceux dont les cœurs frémissent quand le nom d'Allah est mentionné, ceux qui endurent ce qui les atteint et ceux qui accomplissent la Salât et dépensent de ce que Nous leur avons attribué

Who, when Allah is mentioned, their hearts are fearful, and [to] the patient over what has afflicted them, and the establishers of prayer and those who spend from what We have provided them

وَالْبُدْنَ جَعَلْنَٰهَا لَكُم مِّن شَعَٰٓئِرِ اِ۬للَّهِ لَكُمْ فِيهَا خَيْرٞۖ فَاذْكُرُواْ اُ۪سْمَ اَ۬للَّهِ عَلَيْهَا صَوَآفَّۖ فَإِذَا وَجَبَتْ جُنُوبُهَا فَكُلُواْ مِنْهَا وَأَطْعِمُواْ اُ۬لْقَانِعَ وَالْمُعْتَرَّۖ كَذَٰلِكَ سَخَّرْنَٰهَا لَكُمْ لَعَلَّكُمْ تَشْكُرُونَۖ ﰡ

Walbudna ja‘alnâhâ lakum min sha‘â'iri llâhi lakum fîhâ khayrun fadhkurû sma llâhi ‘alayhâ sawâffa fa'idhâ wajabat junûbuhâ fakulû minhâ wa'at‘imû lqâni‘a walmu‘tarra kadhâlika sakhkharnâhâ lakum la‘allakum tashkurûn

Nous vous avons désigné les chameaux (et les vaches) bien portants pour certains rites établis par Allah. Il y a en eux pour vous un bien. Prononcez donc sur eux le nom d'Allah, quand ils ont eu la patte attachée, [prêts à être immolés]. Puis, lorsqu'ils gisent sur le flanc, mangez-en, et nourrissez-en le besogneux discret et le mendiant. Ainsi Nous vous les avons assujettis afin que vous soyez reconnaissants

And the camels and cattle We have appointed for you as among the symbols of Allah; for you therein is good. So mention the name of Allah upon them when lined up [for sacrifice]; and when they are [lifeless] on their sides, then eat from them and feed the needy and the beggar. Thus have We subjected them to you that you may be grateful

لَنْ يَّنَالَ اَ۬للَّهَ لُحُومُهَا وَلَا دِمَآؤُهَا وَلَٰكِنْ يَّنَالُهُ اُ۬لتَّقْو۪ىٰ مِنكُمْۖ كَذَٰلِكَ سَخَّرَهَا لَكُمْ لِتُكَبِّرُواْ اُ۬للَّهَ عَلَىٰ مَا هَد۪يٰكُمْۖ وَبَشِّرِ اِ۬لْمُحْسِنِينَۖ ﰢ

Lay yanâla llâha luhûmuhâ walâ dimâ'uhâ walâkiy yanâluhu ttaqwê minkum kadhâlika sakhkharahâ lakum litukabbirû llâha ‘alâ mâ hadêkum wabashshiri lmuhsinîn

Ni leurs chairs ni leurs sangs n'atteindront Allah, mais ce qui L'atteint de votre part c'est la piété. Ainsi vous les a-t-Il assujettis afin que vous proclamiez la grandeur d'Allah, pour vous avoir mis sur le droit chemin. Et annonce la bonne nouvelle aux bienfaisants

Their meat will not reach Allah, nor will their blood, but what reaches Him is piety from you. Thus have We subjected them to you that you may glorify Allah for that [to] which He has guided you; and give good tidings to the doers of good

۞ إِنَّ اَ۬للَّهَ يُدَٰفِعُ عَنِ اِ۬لذِينَ ءَامَنُوٓاْۖ إِنَّ اَ۬للَّهَ لَا يُحِبُّ كُلَّ خَوَّانٖ كَفُورٍۖ ﰣ

Inna llâha yudâfi‘u ‘ani lladhîna âmanû inna llâha lâ yuhibbu kulla khawwânin kafûr

Allah prend la défense de ceux qui croient. Allah n'aime aucun traître ingrat

Indeed, Allah defends those who have believed. Indeed, Allah does not like everyone treacherous and ungrateful

ا۟ذِنَ لِلذِينَ يُقَٰتَلُونَ بِأَنَّهُمْ ظُلِمُواْۖ وَإِنَّ اَ۬للَّهَ عَلَىٰ نَصْرِهِمْ لَقَدِيرٌۖ ﰤ

Udhina lilladhîna yuqâtalûna bi'annahum zulimû wa'inna llâha ‘alâ nasrihim laqadîr

Autorisation est donnée à ceux qui sont attaqués (de se défendre) - parce que vraiment ils sont lésés; et Allah est certes Capable de les secourir

Permission [to fight] has been given to those who are being fought, because they were wronged. And indeed, Allah is competent to give them victory

اِ۬لذِينَ أُخْرِجُواْ مِن دِيٰ۪رِهِم بِغَيْرِ حَقٍّ اِلَّآ أَنْ يَّقُولُواْ رَبُّنَا اَ۬للَّهُۖ وَلَوْلَا دِفَٰعُ اُ۬للَّهِ اِ۬لنَّاسَ بَعْضَهُم بِبَعْضٖ لَّهُدِمَتْ صَوَٰمِعُ وَبِيَعٞ وَصَلَوَٰتٞ وَمَسَٰجِدُ يُذْكَرُ فِيهَا اَ۪سْمُ اُ۬للَّهِ كَثِيراٗۖ وَلَيَنصُرَنَّ اَ۬للَّهُ مَنْ يَّنصُرُهُۥٓۖ إِنَّ اَ۬للَّهَ لَقَوِيٌّ عَزِيزٌۖ ﰥ

Alladhîna ukhrijû min diêrihim bighayri haqqini llâ ay yaqûlû rabbunâ llâhu walawlâ difâ‘u llâhi nnâsa ba‘dahum biba‘dil lahudimat sawâmi‘u wabiya‘un wasalawâtun wamasâjidu yudhkaru fîhâ smu llâhi kathîran walayansuranna llâhu may yansuruhû inna llâha laqawiyyun ‘azîz

ceux qui ont été expulsés de leurs demeures, - contre toute justice, simplement parce qu'ils disaient: «Allah est notre Seigneur». - Si Allah ne repoussait pas les gens les uns par les autres, les ermitages seraient démolis, ainsi que les églises, les synagogues et les mosquées où le nom d'Allah est beaucoup invoqué. Allah soutient, certes, ceux qui soutiennent (Sa Religion). Allah est assurément Fort et Puissant

[They are] those who have been evicted from their homes without right - only because they say, "Our Lord is Allah." And were it not that Allah checks the people, some by means of others, there would have been demolished monasteries, churches, synagogues, and mosques in which the name of Allah is much mentioned. And Allah will surely support those who support Him. Indeed, Allah is Powerful and Exalted in Might

اِ۬لذِينَ إِن مَّكَّنَّٰهُمْ فِے اِ۬لَارْضِ أَقَامُواْ اُ۬لصَّلَوٰةَ وَءَاتَوُاْ اُ۬لزَّكَوٰةَ وَأَمَرُواْ بِالْمَعْرُوفِ وَنَهَوْاْ عَنِ اِ۬لْمُنكَرِۖ وَلِلهِ عَٰقِبَةُ اُ۬لُامُورِۖ ﰦ

Alladhîna im makkannâhum fî lardi aqâmû ssalawâta wa'âtawu zzakawâta wa'amarû bilma‘rûfi wanahaw ‘ani lmunkari walillâhi ‘âqibatu lumûr

ceux qui, si Nous leur donnons la puissance sur terre, accomplissent la Salât, acquittent la Zakât, ordonnent le convenable et interdisent le blâmable. Cependant, l'issue finale de toute chose appartient à Allah

[And they are] those who, if We give them authority in the land, establish prayer and give zakah and enjoin what is right and forbid what is wrong. And to Allah belongs the outcome of [all] matters

وَإِنْ يُّكَذِّبُوكَ فَقَدْ كَذَّبَتْ قَبْلَهُمْ قَوْمُ نُوحٖ وَعَادٞ وَثَمُودُ ﰧ

Wa'iy yukadhdhibûka faqad kadhdhabat qablahum qawmu nûhin wa‘âdun wathamûd

Et s'ils te traitent de menteur, [sache que] le peuple de Noé, les 'Aad, les Tamûd avant eux, ont aussi crié au mensonge (à l'égard de leurs messagers)

And if they deny you, [O Muhammad] - so, before them, did the people of Noah and 'Aad and Thamud deny [their prophets]

وَقَوْمُ إِبْرَٰهِيمَ وَقَوْمُ لُوطٖ ﰨ

Waqawmu ibrâhîma waqawmu lût

de même que le peuple d'Abraham, le peuple de Lot

And the people of Abraham and the people of Lot

وَأَصْحَٰبُ مَدْيَنَۖ وَكُذِّبَ مُوس۪ىٰۖ فَأَمْلَيْتُ لِلْكٰ۪فِرِينَ ثُمَّ أَخَذتُّهُمْۖ فَكَيْفَ كَانَ نَكِيرِۦۖ ﰩ

Wa'ashâbu madyana wakudhdhiba mûsê fa'amlaytu lilkêfirîna thumma akhadhttuhum fakayfa kâna nakîrî

et les gens de Madyan. Et Moïse fut traité de menteur. Puis, J'ai donné un répit aux mécréants; ensuite Je les ai saisis. Et quelle fut Ma réprobation

And the inhabitants of Madyan. And Moses was denied, so I prolonged enjoyment for the disbelievers; then I seized them, and how [terrible] was My reproach

فَكَأَيِّن مِّن قَرْيَةٍ اَهْلَكْنَٰهَا وَهِيَ ظَالِمَةٞ فَهِيَ خَاوِيَةٌ عَلَىٰ عُرُوشِهَا وَبِيرٖ مُّعَطَّلَةٖ وَقَصْرٖ مَّشِيدٍۖ ﰪ

Faka'ayyim min qaryatina hlaknâhâ wahiya zâlimatun fahiya khâwiyatun ‘alâ ‘urûshihâ wabîrim mu‘attalatin waqasrim mashîd

Que de cités, donc, avons-Nous fait périr, parce qu'elles commettaient des tyrannies. Elles sont réduites à des toits écroulés: Que de puits désertés! Que de palais édifiés (et désertés aussi)

And how many a city did We destroy while it was committing wrong - so it is [now] fallen into ruin - and [how many] an abandoned well and [how many] a lofty palace

اَفَلَمْ يَسِيرُواْ فِے اِ۬لَارْضِ فَتَكُونَ لَهُمْ قُلُوبٞ يَعْقِلُونَ بِهَآ أَوَ اٰذَانٞ يَسْمَعُونَ بِهَاۖ فَإِنَّهَا لَا تَعْمَى اَ۬لَابْصَٰرُ وَلَٰكِن تَعْمَى اَ۬لْقُلُوبُ اُ۬لتِے فِے اِ۬لصُّدُورِۖ ﰫ

Afalam yasîrû fî lardi fatakûna lahum qulûbun ya‘qilûna bihâ awa âdhânun yasma‘ûna bihâ fa'innahâ lâ ta‘mâ labsâru walâkin ta‘mâ lqulûbu llatî fî ssudûr

Que ne voyagent-ils sur la terre afin d'avoir des cœurs pour comprendre, et des oreilles pour entendre? Car ce ne sont pas les yeux qui s'aveuglent, mais, ce sont les cœurs dans les poitrines qui s'aveuglent

So have they not traveled through the earth and have hearts by which to reason and ears by which to hear? For indeed, it is not eyes that are blinded, but blinded are the hearts which are within the breasts

وَيَسْتَعْجِلُونَكَ بِالْعَذَابِۖ وَلَنْ يُّخْلِفَ اَ۬للَّهُ وَعْدَهُۥۖ وَإِنَّ يَوْماً عِندَ رَبِّكَ كَأَلْفِ سَنَةٖ مِّمَّا تَعُدُّونَۖ ﰬ

Wayasta‘jilûnaka bil‘adhâbi walay yukhlifa llâhu wa‘dahû wa'inna yawman ‘inda rabbika ka'alfi sanatim mimmâ ta‘uddûn

Et ils te demandent de hâter [l'arrivée] du châtiment. Jamais Allah ne manquera à Sa promesse. Cependant, un jour auprès de ton Seigneur, équivaut à mille ans de ce que vous comptez

And they urge you to hasten the punishment. But Allah will never fail in His promise. And indeed, a day with your Lord is like a thousand years of those which you count

وَكَأَيِّن مِّن قَرْيَةٍ اَمْلَيْتُ لَهَا وَهِيَ ظَالِمَةٞ ثُمَّ أَخَذتُّهَاۖ وَإِلَيَّ اَ۬لْمَصِيرُۖ ﰭ

Waka'ayyim min qaryatina mlaytu lahâ wahiya zâlimatun thumma akhadhttuhâ wa'ilayya lmasîr

A combien de cités n'ai-Je pas donné répit alors qu'elles commettaient des tyrannies? Ensuite, Je les ais saisies. Vers Moi est le devenir

And for how many a city did I prolong enjoyment while it was committing wrong. Then I seized it, and to Me is the [final] destination

۞ قُلْ يَٰٓأَيُّهَا اَ۬لنَّاسُ إِنَّمَآ أَنَا لَكُمْ نَذِيرٞ مُّبِينٞۖ ﰮ

Qul yâ'ayyuhâ nnâsu innamâ anâ lakum nadhîrum mubîn

Dis: «O hommes! Je ne suis pour vous, en vérité, qu'un avertisseur explicite»

Say, "O people, I am only to you a clear warner

فَالذِينَ ءَامَنُواْ وَعَمِلُواْ اُ۬لصَّٰلِحَٰتِ لَهُم مَّغْفِرَةٞ وَرِزْقٞ كَرِيمٞۖ ﰯ

Falladhîna âmanû wa‘amilû ssâlihâti lahum maghfiratun warizqun karîm

Ceux donc qui croient et font de bonnes œuvres auront pardon et faveurs généreuses

And those who have believed and done righteous deeds - for them is forgiveness and noble provision

وَالذِينَ سَعَوْاْ فِےٓ ءَايَٰتِنَا مُعَٰجِزِينَ أُوْلَٰٓئِكَ أَصْحَٰبُ اُ۬لْجَحِيمِۖ ﰰ

Walladhîna sa‘aw fî âyâtinâ mu‘âjizîna ulâ'ika ashâbu ljahîm

tandis que ceux qui s'efforcent à échapper (au châtiment mentionné dans) Nos versets, ceux-là sont les gens de l'Enfer

But the ones who strove against Our verses, [seeking] to cause failure - those are the companions of Hellfire

وَمَآ أَرْسَلْنَا مِن قَبْلِكَ مِن رَّسُولٖ وَلَا نَبِےٓءٍ اِلَّآ إِذَا تَمَنّ۪ىٰٓ أَلْقَى اَ۬لشَّيْطَٰنُ فِےٓ أُمْنِيَّتِهِۦ فَيَنسَخُ اُ۬للَّهُ مَا يُلْقِے اِ۬لشَّيْطَٰنُ ثُمَّ يُحْكِمُ اُ۬للَّهُ ءَايَٰتِهِۦ وَاللَّهُ عَلِيمٌ حَكِيمٞ ﰱ

Wamâ arsalnâ min qablika mir rasûlin walâ nabî'ini llâ idhâ tamannê alqâ shshaytânu fî umniyyatihî fayansakhu llâhu mâ yulqî shshaytânu thumma yuhkimu llâhu âyâtihî wallâhu ‘alîmun hakîm

Nous n'avons envoyé, avant toi, ni Messager ni prophète qui n'ait récité (ce qui lui a été révélé) sans que le Diable n'ait essayé d'intervenir [pour semer le doute dans le cœur des gens au sujet] de sa récitation. Allah abroge ce que le Diable suggère, et Allah renforce Ses versets. Allah est Omniscient et Sage

And We did not send before you any messenger or prophet except that when he spoke [or recited], Satan threw into it [some misunderstanding]. But Allah abolishes that which Satan throws in; then Allah makes precise His verses. And Allah is Knowing and Wise

لِّيَجْعَلَ مَا يُلْقِے اِ۬لشَّيْطَٰنُ فِتْنَةٗ لِّلذِينَ فِے قُلُوبِهِم مَّرَضٞ وَالْقَاسِيَةِ قُلُوبُهُمْۖ وَإِنَّ اَ۬لظَّٰلِمِينَ لَفِے شِقَاقِۢ بَعِيدٖۖ ﰲ

Liyaj‘ala mâ yulqî shshaytânu fitnatal lilladhîna fî qulûbihim maradun walqâsiyati qulûbuhum wa'inna zzâlimîna lafî shiqâqim ba‘îd

Afin de faire, de ce que jette le Diable, une tentation pour ceux qui ont une maladie au cœur et ceux qui ont le cœur dur... Les injustes sont certes dans un schisme profond

[That is] so He may make what Satan throws in a trial for those within whose hearts is disease and those hard of heart. And indeed, the wrongdoers are in extreme dissension

وَلِيَعْلَمَ اَ۬لذِينَ أُوتُواْ اُ۬لْعِلْمَ أَنَّهُ اُ۬لْحَقُّ مِن رَّبِّكَ فَيُومِنُواْ بِهِۦ فَتُخْبِتَ لَهُۥ قُلُوبُهُمْۖ وَإِنَّ اَ۬للَّهَ لَهَادِ اِ۬لذِينَ ءَامَنُوٓاْ إِلَىٰ صِرَٰطٖ مُّسْتَقِيمٖۖ ﰳ

Waliya‘lama lladhîna ûtû l‘ilma annahu lhaqqu mir rabbika fayûminû bihî fatukhbita lahû qulûbuhum wa'inna llâha lahâdi lladhîna âmanû ilâ sirâtim mustaqîm

Et afin que ceux à qui le savoir a été donné sachent que (le Coran) est en effet, la Vérité venant de ton Seigneur, qu'ils y croient alors, et que leurs cœurs s'y soumettent en toute humilité. Allah guide certes vers le droit chemin ceux qui croient

And so those who were given knowledge may know that it is the truth from your Lord and [therefore] believe in it, and their hearts humbly submit to it. And indeed is Allah the Guide of those who have believed to a straight path

وَلَا يَزَالُ اُ۬لذِينَ كَفَرُواْ فِے مِرْيَةٖ مِّنْهُ حَتَّىٰ تَاتِيَهُمُ اُ۬لسَّاعَةُ بَغْتَةً اَوْ يَاتِيَهُمْ عَذَابُ يَوْمٍ عَقِيمٍۖ ﰴ

Walâ yazâlu lladhîna kafarû fî miryatim minhu hattâ tâtiyahumu ssâ‘atu baghtatana w yâtiyahum ‘adhâbu yawmin ‘aqîm

Et ceux qui mécroient ne cesseront d'être en doute à son sujet, jusqu'à ce que l'Heure les surprenne à l'improviste ou que les atteigne le châtiment d'un jour terrifiant

But those who disbelieve will not cease to be in doubt of it until the Hour comes upon them unexpectedly or there comes to them the punishment of a barren Day

اِ۬لْمُلْكُ يَوْمَئِذٖ لِّلهِۖ يَحْكُمُ بَيْنَهُمْۖ فَالذِينَ ءَامَنُواْ وَعَمِلُواْ اُ۬لصَّٰلِحَٰتِ فِے جَنَّٰتِ اِ۬لنَّعِيمِۖ ﰵ

Almulku yawma'idhin lillâhi yahkumu baynahum falladhîna âmanû wa‘amilû ssâlihâti fî jannâti nna‘îm

La souveraineté ce jour-là appartiendra à Allah qui jugera parmi eux. Ceux qui auront cru et fait de bonnes œuvres seront dans les Jardins du délice

[All] sovereignty that Day is for Allah; He will judge between them. So they who believed and did righteous deeds will be in the Gardens of Pleasure

وَالذِينَ كَفَرُواْ وَكَذَّبُواْ بِـَٔايَٰتِنَا فَأُوْلَٰٓئِكَ لَهُمْ عَذَابٞ مُّهِينٞۖ ﰶ

Walladhîna kafarû wakadhdhabû bi'âyâtinâ fa'ulâ'ika lahum ‘adhâbum muhîn

et quant aux infidèles qui auront traité Nos révélations de mensonges, ils auront un châtiment avilissant

And they who disbelieved and denied Our signs - for those there will be a humiliating punishment

وَالذِينَ هَاجَرُواْ فِے سَبِيلِ اِ۬للَّهِ ثُمَّ قُتِلُوٓاْ أَوْ مَاتُواْ لَيَرْزُقَنَّهُمُ اُ۬للَّهُ رِزْقاً حَسَناٗۖ وَإِنَّ اَ۬للَّهَ لَهُوَ خَيْرُ اُ۬لرَّٰزِقِينَۖ ﰷ

Walladhîna hâjarû fî sabîli llâhi thumma qutilû aw mâtû layarzuqannahumu llâhu rizqan hasanan wa'inna llâha lahuwa khayru rrâziqîn

Ceux qui émigrent dans le sentier d'Allah et qui sont tués ou meurent, Allah leur accordera certes une belle récompense, car Allah est le meilleur des donateurs

And those who emigrated for the cause of Allah and then were killed or died - Allah will surely provide for them a good provision. And indeed, it is Allah who is the best of providers

لَيُدْخِلَنَّهُم مَّدْخَلاٗ يَرْضَوْنَهُۥۖ وَإِنَّ اَ۬للَّهَ لَعَلِيمٌ حَلِيمٞۖ ﰸ

Layudkhilannahum madkhalan yardawnahû wa'inna llâha la‘alîmun halîm

Il les fera, certes, entrer en un lieu qu'ils agréeront, et Allah est certes Omniscient et Indulgent

He will surely cause them to enter an entrance with which they will be pleased, and indeed, Allah is Knowing and Forbearing

۞ ذَٰلِكَۖ وَمَنْ عَاقَبَ بِمِثْلِ مَا عُوقِبَ بِهِۦ ثُمَّ بُغِيَ عَلَيْهِ لَيَنصُرَنَّهُ اُ۬للَّهُۖ إِنَّ اَ۬للَّهَ لَعَفُوٌّ غَفُورٞۖ ﰹ

Dhâlika waman ‘âqaba bimithli mâ ‘ûqiba bihî thumma bughiya ‘alayhi layansurannahu llâhu inna llâha la‘afuwwun ghafûr

Ainsi en est-il. Quiconque châtie de la même façon dont il a été châtié, et qu'ensuite il est victime d'un nouvel outrage, Allah l'aidera, car Allah est certainement Absoluteur et Pardonneur

That [is so]. And whoever responds [to injustice] with the equivalent of that with which he was harmed and then is tyrannized - Allah will surely aid him. Indeed, Allah is Pardoning and Forgiving

ذَٰلِكَ بِأَنَّ اَ۬للَّهَ يُولِجُ اُ۬ليْلَ فِے اِ۬لنَّه۪ارِ وَيُولِجُ اُ۬لنَّهَارَ فِے اِ۬ليْلِ وَأَنَّ اَ۬للَّهَ سَمِيعُۢ بَصِيرٞۖ ﰺ

Dhâlika bi'anna llâha yûliju llayla fî nnahêri wayûliju nnahâra fî llayli wa'anna llâha samî‘um basîr

C'est ainsi qu'Allah fait pénétrer la nuit dans le jour, et fait pénétrer le jour dans la nuit. Allah est, certes, Audient et Clairvoyant

That is because Allah causes the night to enter the day and causes the day to enter the night and because Allah is Hearing and Seeing

ذَٰلِكَ بِأَنَّ اَ۬للَّهَ هُوَ اَ۬لْحَقُّ وَأَنَّ مَا تَدْعُونَ مِن دُونِهِۦ هُوَ اَ۬لْبَٰطِلُ وَأَنَّ اَ۬للَّهَ هُوَ اَ۬لْعَلِيُّ اُ۬لْكَبِيرُۖ ﰻ

Dhâlika bi'anna llâha huwa lhaqqu wa'anna mâ tad‘ûna min dûnihî huwa lbâtilu wa'anna llâha huwa l‘aliyyu lkabîr

C'est ainsi qu'Allah est Lui le Vrai, alors que ce qu'ils invoquent en dehors de Lui est le faux; c'est Allah qui est le Sublime, le Grand

That is because Allah is the Truth, and that which they call upon other than Him is falsehood, and because Allah is the Most High, the Grand

أَلَمْ تَرَ أَنَّ اَ۬للَّهَ أَنزَلَ مِنَ اَ۬لسَّمَآءِ مَآءٗ فَتُصْبِحُ اُ۬لَارْضُ مُخْضَرَّةًۖ اِنَّ اَ۬للَّهَ لَطِيفٌ خَبِيرٞۖ ﰼ

Alam tara anna llâha anzala mina ssamâ'i mâ'an fatusbihu lardu mukhdarratani nna llâha latîfun khabîr

N'as-tu pas vu qu'Allah fait descendre l'eau du ciel, et la terre devient alors verte? Allah est Plein de bonté et Parfaitement Connaisseur

Do you not see that Allah has sent down rain from the sky and the earth becomes green? Indeed, Allah is Subtle and Acquainted

لَّهُۥ مَا فِے اِ۬لسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَمَا فِے اِ۬لَارْضِۖ وَإِنَّ اَ۬للَّهَ لَهُوَ اَ۬لْغَنِيُّ اُ۬لْحَمِيدُۖ ﰽ

Lahû mâ fî ssamâwâti wamâ fî lardi wa'inna llâha lahuwa lghaniyyu lhamîd

A Lui appartient ce qui est dans les cieux et sur la terre. Allah est le seul qui se suffit à Lui-Même et qui est Le Digne de louange

To Him belongs what is in the heavens and what is on the earth. And indeed, Allah is the Free of need, the Praiseworthy

أَلَمْ تَرَ أَنَّ اَ۬للَّهَ سَخَّرَ لَكُم مَّا فِے اِ۬لَارْضِ وَالْفُلْكَ تَجْرِے فِے اِ۬لْبَحْرِ بِأَمْرِهِۦۖ وَيُمْسِكُ اُ۬لسَّمَآءَ ان تَقَعَ عَلَى اَ۬لَارْضِ إِلَّا بِإِذْنِهِۦٓۖ إِنَّ اَ۬للَّهَ بِالنَّاسِ لَرَءُوفٞ رَّحِيمٞۖ ﰾ

Alam tara anna llâha sakhkhara lakum mâ fî lardi walfulka tajrî fî lbahri bi'amrihî wayumsiku ssamâ'a ân taqa‘a ‘alâ lardi illâ bi'idhnihî inna llâha binnâsi lara'ûfur rahîm

N'as-tu pas vu qu'Allah vous a soumis tout ce qui est sur la terre ainsi que le vaisseau qui vogue sur la mer par Son ordre? Il retient le ciel de tomber sur la terre, sauf quand Il le permettra. Car Allah est Plein de bonté et de miséricorde envers les hommes

Do you not see that Allah has subjected to you whatever is on the earth and the ships which run through the sea by His command? And He restrains the sky from falling upon the earth, unless by His permission. Indeed Allah, to the people, is Kind and Merciful

وَهُوَ اَ۬لذِےٓ أَحْي۪اكُمْ ثُمَّ يُمِيتُكُمْۖ ثُمَّ يُحْيِيكُمُۥٓۖ إِنَّ اَ۬لِانسَٰنَ لَكَفُورٞۖ ﰿ

Wahuwa lladhî ahyêkum thumma yumîtukum thumma yuhyîkumû inna linsâna lakafûr

C'est Lui qui vous donne la vie puis vous donne la mort, puis vous fait revivre. Vraiment l'homme est très ingrat

And He is the one who gave you life; then He causes you to die and then will [again] give you life. Indeed, mankind is ungrateful

لِّكُلِّ أُمَّةٖ جَعَلْنَا مَنسَكاً هُمْ نَاسِكُوهُۖ فَلَا يُنَٰزِعُنَّكَ فِے اِ۬لَامْرِۖ وَادْعُ إِلَىٰ رَبِّكَۖ إِنَّكَ لَعَلَىٰ هُدىٗ مُّسْتَقِيمٖۖ ﱀ

Likulli ummatin ja‘alnâ mansakan hum nâsikûhu falâ yunâzi‘unnaka fî lamri wad‘u ilâ rabbika innaka la‘alâ hudam mustaqîm

A chaque communauté, Nous avons assigné un culte à suivre. Qu'ils ne disputent donc point avec toi l'ordre reçu! Et appelle à ton Seigneur. Tu es certes sur une voie droite

For every religion We have appointed rites which they perform. So, [O Muhammad], let the disbelievers not contend with you over the matter but invite them to your Lord. Indeed, you are upon straight guidance

وَإِن جَٰدَلُوكَ فَقُلِ اِ۬للَّهُ أَعْلَمُ بِمَا تَعْمَلُونَۖ ﱁ

Wa'in jâdalûka faquli llâhu a‘lamu bimâ ta‘malûn

Et s'ils discutent avec toi, alors dis: «C'est Allah qui connaît mieux ce que vous faites

And if they dispute with you, then say, "Allah is most knowing of what you do

اَ۬للَّهُ يَحْكُمُ بَيْنَكُمْ يَوْمَ اَ۬لْقِيَٰمَةِ فِيمَا كُنتُمْ فِيهِ تَخْتَلِفُونَۖ ﱂ

Allâhu yahkumu baynakum yawma lqiyâmati fîmâ kuntum fîhi takhtalifûn

Allah jugera entre vous, au Jour de la Résurrection, ce en quoi vous divergez»

Allah will judge between you on the Day of Resurrection concerning that over which you used to differ

أَلَمْ تَعْلَمَ اَنَّ اَ۬للَّهَ يَعْلَمُ مَا فِے اِ۬لسَّمَآءِ وَالَارْضِۖ إِنَّ ذَٰلِكَ فِے كِتَٰبٍۖ اِنَّ ذَٰلِكَ عَلَى اَ۬للَّهِ يَسِيرٞۖ ﱃ

Alam ta‘lama nna llâha ya‘lamu mâ fî ssamâ'i walardi inna dhâlika fî kitâbini nna dhâlika ‘alâ llâhi yasîr

Ne sais-tu pas qu'Allah sait ce qu'il y a dans le ciel et sur la terre? Tout cela est dans un Livre, et cela est pour Allah bien facile

Do you not know that Allah knows what is in the heaven and earth? Indeed, that is in a Record. Indeed that, for Allah, is easy

وَيَعْبُدُونَ مِن دُونِ اِ۬للَّهِ مَا لَمْ يُنَزِّلْ بِهِۦ سُلْطَٰناٗ وَمَا لَيْسَ لَهُم بِهِۦ عِلْمٞۖ وَمَا لِلظَّٰلِمِينَ مِن نَّصِيرٖۖ ﱄ

Waya‘budûna min dûni llâhi mâ lam yunazzil bihî sultânan wamâ laysa lahum bihî ‘ilmun wamâ lizzâlimîna min nasîr

Et ils adorent en dehors d'Allah, ce en quoi Il n'a fait descendre aucune preuve et ce dont ils n'ont aucune connaissance. Et il n'y aura pas de protecteur pour les injustes

And they worship besides Allah that for which He has not sent down authority and that of which they have no knowledge. And there will not be for the wrongdoers any helper

۞ وَإِذَا تُتْل۪ىٰ عَلَيْهِمُۥٓ ءَايَٰتُنَا بَيِّنَٰتٖ تَعْرِفُ فِے وُجُوهِ اِ۬لذِينَ كَفَرُواْ اُ۬لْمُنكَرَ يَكَادُونَ يَسْطُونَ بِالذِينَ يَتْلُونَ عَلَيْهِمُۥٓ ءَايَٰتِنَاۖ قُلَ اَفَأُنَبِّئُكُم بِشَرّٖ مِّن ذَٰلِكُمُۖ اُ۬لنَّارُ وَعَدَهَا اَ۬للَّهُ اُ۬لذِينَ كَفَرُواْۖ وَبِيسَ اَ۬لْمَصِيرُۖ ﱅ

Wa'idhâ tutlê ‘alayhimû âyâtunâ bayyinâtin ta‘rifu fî wujûhi lladhîna kafarû lmunkara yakâdûna yastûna billadhîna yatlûna ‘alayhimû âyâtinâ qula fa'unabbî'ukum bisharrim min dhâlikumu nnâru wa‘adahâ llâhu lladhîna kafarû wabîsa lmasîr

Et quand on leur récite Nos versets bien clairs, tu discerneras la réprobation sur les visages de ceux qui ont mécru. Peu s'en faut qu'ils ne se jettent sur ceux qui leur récitent Nos versets. Dis: «Vous informerai-je de quelque chose de plus terrible? - Le Feu: Allah l'a promis à ceux qui ont mécru. Et quel triste devenir!»

And when Our verses are recited to them as clear evidences, you recognize in the faces of those who disbelieve disapproval. They are almost on the verge of assaulting those who recite to them Our verses. Say, "Then shall I inform you of [what is] worse than that? [It is] the Fire which Allah has promised those who disbelieve, and wretched is the destination

يَٰٓأَيُّهَا اَ۬لنَّاسُ ضُرِبَ مَثَلٞ فَاسْتَمِعُواْ لَهُۥٓۖ إِنَّ اَ۬لذِينَ تَدْعُونَ مِن دُونِ اِ۬للَّهِ لَنْ يَّخْلُقُواْ ذُبَاباٗ وَلَوِ اِ۪جْتَمَعُواْ لَهُۥۖ وَإِنْ يَّسْلُبْهُمُ اُ۬لذُّبَابُ شَئْاٗ لَّا يَسْتَنقِذُوهُ مِنْهُۖ ضَعُفَ اَ۬لطَّالِبُ وَالْمَطْلُوبُۖ ﱆ

Yâ'ayyuhâ nnâsu duriba mathalun fastami‘û lahû inna lladhîna tad‘ûna min dûni llâhi lay yakhluqû dhubâban walawi jtama‘û lahû wa'iy yaslubhumu dhdhubâbu shay'al lâ yastanqidhûhu minhu da‘ufa ttâlibu walmatlûb

O hommes! Une parabole vous est proposée, écoutez-la: «Ceux que vous invoquez en dehors d'Allah ne sauraient même pas créer une mouche, quand même ils s'uniraient pour cela. Et si la mouche les dépouillait de quelque chose, ils ne sauraient le lui reprendre. Le solliciteur et le sollicité sont [également] faibles!»

O people, an example is presented, so listen to it. Indeed, those you invoke besides Allah will never create [as much as] a fly, even if they gathered together for that purpose. And if the fly should steal away from them a [tiny] thing, they could not recover it from him. Weak are the pursuer and pursued

مَا قَدَرُواْ اُ۬للَّهَ حَقَّ قَدْرِهِۦٓۖ إِنَّ اَ۬للَّهَ لَقَوِيٌّ عَزِيزٌۖ ﱇ

Mâ qadarû llâha haqqa qadrihî inna llâha laqawiyyun ‘azîz

Ils n'ont pas estimé Allah à sa juste valeur; Allah est certes Fort et Puissant

They have not appraised Allah with true appraisal. Indeed, Allah is Powerful and Exalted in Might

اِ۬للَّهُ يَصْطَفِے مِنَ اَ۬لْمَلَٰٓئِكَةِ رُسُلاٗ وَمِنَ اَ۬لنَّاسِۖ إِنَّ اَ۬للَّهَ سَمِيعُۢ بَصِيرٞۖ ﱈ

Allâhu yastafî mina lmalâ'ikati rusulan wamina nnâsi inna llâha samî‘um basîr

Allah choisit des messagers parmi les Anges et parmi les hommes. Allah est Audient et Clairvoyant

Allah chooses from the angels messengers and from the people. Indeed, Allah is Hearing and Seeing

يَعْلَمُ مَا بَيْنَ أَيْدِيهِمْ وَمَا خَلْفَهُمْۖ وَإِلَى اَ۬للَّهِ تُرْجَعُ اُ۬لُامُورُۖ ﱉ

Ya‘lamu mâ bayna aydîhim wamâ khalfahum wa'ilâ llâhi turja‘u lumûr

Il sait ce qui est devant eux et derrière eux. Et c'est vers Allah que tout retournera

He knows what is [presently] before them and what will be after them. And to Allah will be returned [all] matters

يَٰٓأَيُّهَا اَ۬لذِينَ ءَامَنُواْ اُ۪رْكَعُواْ وَاسْجُدُواْ وَاعْبُدُواْ رَبَّكُمْ وَافْعَلُواْ اُ۬لْخَيْرَ لَعَلَّكُمْ تُفْلِحُونَۖ ﱊ

Yâ'ayyuhâ lladhîna âmanû rka‘û wasjudû wa‘budû rabbakum waf‘alû lkhayra la‘allakum tuflihûn

O vous qui croyez! Inclinez-vous, prosternez-vous, adorez votre Seigneur, et faites le bien. Peut-être réussirez vous

O you who have believed, bow and prostrate and worship your Lord and do good - that you may succeed

وَجَٰهِدُواْ فِے اِ۬للَّهِ حَقَّ جِهَادِهِۦۖ هُوَ اَ۪جْتَب۪يٰكُمْۖ وَمَا جَعَلَ عَلَيْكُمْ فِے اِ۬لدِّينِ مِنْ حَرَجٖۖ مِّلَّةَ أَبِيكُمُۥٓ إِبْرَٰهِيمَۖ هُوَ سَمّ۪يٰكُمُ اُ۬لْمُسْلِمِينَ مِن قَبْلُ وَفِے هَٰذَا لِيَكُونَ اَ۬لرَّسُولُ شَهِيداً عَلَيْكُمْ وَتَكُونُواْ شُهَدَآءَ عَلَى اَ۬لنَّاسِۖ فَأَقِيمُواْ اُ۬لصَّلَوٰةَ وَءَاتُواْ اُ۬لزَّكَوٰةَۖ وَاعْتَصِمُواْ بِاللَّهِۖ هُوَ مَوْل۪يٰكُمْۖ فَنِعْمَ اَ۬لْمَوْل۪ىٰۖ وَنِعْمَ اَ۬لنَّصِيرُۖ ﱋ

Wajâhidû fî llâhi haqqa jihâdihî huwa jtabêkum wamâ ja‘ala ‘alaykum fî ddîni min harajim millata abîkumû ibrâhîma huwa sammêkumu lmuslimîna min qablu wafî hâdhâ liyakûna rrasûlu shahîdan ‘alaykum watakûnû shuhadâ'a ‘alâ nnâsi fa'aqîmû ssalawâta wa'âtû zzakawâta wa‘tasimû billâhi huwa mawlêkum fani‘ma lmawlê wani‘ma nnasîr

Et luttez pour Allah avec tout l'effort qu'Il mérite. C'est Lui qui vous a élus; et Il ne vous a imposé aucune gêne dans la religion, celle de votre père Abraham, lequel vous a déjà nommés «Musulmans» avant (ce Livre) et dans ce (Livre), afin que le Messager soit témoin contre vous, et que vous soyez vous-mêmes témoins contre les gens. Accomplissez donc la Salât, acquittez la Zakât et attachez-vous fortement à Allah. C'est Lui votre Maître. Quel Excellent Maître! Et quel Excellent Soutien

And strive for Allah with the striving due to Him. He has chosen you and has not placed upon you in the religion any difficulty. [It is] the religion of your father, Abraham. Allah named you "Muslims" before [in former scriptures] and in this [revelation] that the Messenger may be a witness over you and you may be witnesses over the people. So establish prayer and give zakah and hold fast to Allah. He is your protector; and excellent is the protector, and excellent is the helper
