ح۪مِٓۖ تَنزِيلٞ مِّنَ اَ۬لرَّحْمَٰنِ اِ۬لرَّحِيمِ ﰀ

Hâ mîm tanzîlum mina rrahmâni rrahîm

H'â, Mîm [C'est] une Révélation descendue de la part du Tout Miséricordieux, du Très Miséricordieux

Ha, Meem [This is] a revelation from the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful

كِتَٰبٞ فُصِّلَتَ اٰيَٰتُهُۥ قُرْءَاناً عَرَبِيّاٗ لِّقَوْمٖ يَعْلَمُونَ ﰁ

Kitâbun fussilata âyâtuhû qur'ânan ‘arabiyyal liqawmin ya‘lamûn

Un Livre dont les versets sont détaillés (et clairement exposés), un Coran [lecture] arabe pour des gens qui savent

A Book whose verses have been detailed, an Arabic Qur'an for a people who know

بَشِيراٗ وَنَذِيراٗۖ فَأَعْرَضَ أَكْثَرُهُمْ فَهُمْ لَا يَسْمَعُونَۖ ﰂ

Bashîran wanadhîran fa'a‘rada aktharuhum fahum lâ yasma‘ûn

annonciateur [d'une bonne nouvelle] et avertisseur. Mais la plupart d'entre eux se détournent; c'est qu'ils n'entendent pas

As a giver of good tidings and a warner; but most of them turn away, so they do not hear

وَقَالُواْ قُلُوبُنَا فِےٓ أَكِنَّةٖ مِّمَّا تَدْعُونَآ إِلَيْهِ وَفِےٓ ءَاذَانِنَا وَقْرٞ وَمِنۢ بَيْنِنَا وَبَيْنِكَ حِجَابٞ فَاعْمَلِ اِنَّنَا عَٰمِلُونَۖ ﰃ

Waqâlû qulûbunâ fî akinnatim mimmâ tad‘ûnâ ilayhi wafî âdhâninâ waqrun wamim bayninâ wabaynika hijâbun fa‘mali nnanâ ‘âmilûn

Et ils dirent: «Nos cœurs sont voilés contre ce à quoi tu nous appelles, nos oreilles sont sourdes. Et entre nous et toi, il y a une cloison. Agis donc de ton côté; nous agissons du nôtre.»

And they say, "Our hearts are within coverings from that to which you invite us, and in our ears is deafness, and between us and you is a partition, so work; indeed, we are working

قُلِ اِنَّمَآ أَنَا بَشَرٞ مِّثْلُكُمْ يُوح۪ىٰٓ إِلَيَّ أَنَّمَآ إِلَٰهُكُمُۥٓ إِلَٰهٞ وَٰحِدٞ فَاسْتَقِيمُوٓاْ إِلَيْهِ وَاسْتَغْفِرُوهُۖ وَوَيْلٞ لِّلْمُشْرِكِينَ ﰄ

Quli nnamâ anâ basharum mithlukum yûhê ilayya annamâ ilâhukumû ilâhun wâhidun fastaqîmû ilayhi wastaghfirûhu wawaylul lilmushrikîn

Dis: «Je ne suis qu'un homme comme vous. Il m'a été révélé que votre Dieu est un Dieu unique. Cherchez le droit chemin vers Lui et implorez son pardon». Et malheur aux Associateurs

Say, O [Muhammad], "I am only a man like you to whom it has been revealed that your god is but one God; so take a straight course to Him and seek His forgiveness." And woe to those who associate others with Allah

اَ۬لذِينَ لَا يُوتُونَ اَ۬لزَّكَوٰةَ وَهُم بِالَاخِرَةِ هُمْ كَٰفِرُونَۖ ﰅ

Alladhîna lâ yûtûna zzakawâta wahum bilakhirati hum kâfirûn

qui n'acquittent pas la Zakât et ne croient pas en l'au-delà

Those who do not give zakah, and in the Hereafter they are disbelievers

إِنَّ اَ۬لذِينَ ءَامَنُواْ وَعَمِلُواْ اُ۬لصَّٰلِحَٰتِ لَهُمُۥٓ أَجْرٌ غَيْرُ مَمْنُونٖۖ ﰆ

Inna lladhîna âmanû wa‘amilû ssâlihâti lahumû ajrun ghayru mamnûn

Ceux qui croient et accomplissent de bonnes œuvres auront une énorme récompense jamais interrompue

Indeed, those who believe and do righteous deeds - for them is a reward uninterrupted

۞ قُلَ اَئِنَّكُمْ لَتَكْفُرُونَ بِالذِے خَلَقَ اَ۬لَارْضَ فِے يَوْمَيْنِ وَتَجْعَلُونَ لَهُۥٓ أَندَاداٗۖ ذَٰلِكَ رَبُّ اُ۬لْعَٰلَمِينَۖ ﰇ

Qula innakum latakfurûna billadhî khalaqa larda fî yawmayni wataj‘alûna lahû andâdan dhâlika rabbu l‘âlamîn

Dis: «Renierez-vous [l'existence] de celui qui a créé la terre en deux jours et Lui donnerez-vous des égaux? Tel est le Seigneur de l'univers

Say, "Do you indeed disbelieve in He who created the earth in two days and attribute to Him equals? That is the Lord of the worlds

وَجَعَلَ فِيهَا رَوَٰسِيَ مِن فَوْقِهَا وَبَٰرَكَ فِيهَا وَقَدَّرَ فِيهَآ أَقْوَٰتَهَا فِےٓ أَرْبَعَةِ أَيَّامٖ سَوَآءٗ لِّلسَّآئِلِينَۖ ﰈ

Waja‘ala fîhâ rawâsiya min fawqihâ wabâraka fîhâ waqaddara fîhâ aqwâtahâ fî arba‘ati ayyâmin sawâ'al lissâ'ilîn

c'est Lui qui a fermement fixé des montagnes au-dessus d'elle, l'a bénie et lui assigna ses ressources alimentaires en quatre jours d'égale durée. [Telle est la réponse] à ceux qui t'interrogent

And He placed on the earth firmly set mountains over its surface, and He blessed it and determined therein its [creatures'] sustenance in four days without distinction - for [the information] of those who ask

ثُمَّ اَ۪سْتَو۪ىٰٓ إِلَى اَ۬لسَّمَآءِ وَهِيَ دُخَانٞ فَقَالَ لَهَا وَلِلَارْضِ اِ۪يتِيَا طَوْعاً اَوْ كَرْهاٗۖ قَالَتَآ أَتَيْنَا طَآئِعِينَۖ ﰉ

Thumma stawê ilâ ssamâ'i wahiya dukhânun faqâla lahâ walilârdi ytiyâ taw‘ana w karhan qâlatâ ataynâ tâ'i‘în

Il S'est ensuite adressé au ciel qui était alors fumée et lui dit, ainsi qu'à la terre: «Venez tous deux, bon gré, mal gré». Tous deux dirent: «Nous venons obéissants»

Then He directed Himself to the heaven while it was smoke and said to it and to the earth, "Come [into being], willingly or by compulsion." They said, "We have come willingly

فَقَض۪يٰهُنَّ سَبْعَ سَمَٰوَاتٖ فِے يَوْمَيْنِ وَأَوْح۪ىٰ فِے كُلِّ سَمَآءٍ اَمْرَهَاۖ وَزَيَّنَّا اَ۬لسَّمَآءَ اَ۬لدُّنْي۪ا بِمَصَٰبِيحَۖ وَحِفْظاٗۖ ذَٰلِكَ تَقْدِيرُ اُ۬لْعَزِيزِ اِ۬لْعَلِيمِۖ ﰊ

Faqadêhunna sab‘a samâwâtin fî yawmayni wa'awhê fî kulli samâ'ina mrahâ wazayyannâ ssamâ'a ddunyê bimasâbîha wahifzan dhâlika taqdîru l‘azîzi l‘alîm

Il décréta d'en faire sept cieux en deux jours et révéla à chaque ciel sa fonction. Et Nous avons décoré le ciel le plus proche de lampes [étoiles] et l'avons protégé. Tel est l'Ordre établi par le Puissant, l'Omniscient

And He completed them as seven heavens within two days and inspired in each heaven its command. And We adorned the nearest heaven with lamps and as protection. That is the determination of the Exalted in Might, the Knowing

فَإِنَ اَعْرَضُواْ فَقُلَ اَنذَرْتُكُمْ صَٰعِقَةٗ مِّثْلَ صَٰعِقَةِ عَادٖ وَثَمُودَ ﰋ

Fa'ina ‘radû faqula ndhartukum sâ‘iqatam mithla sâ‘iqati ‘âdin wathamûd

S'ils s'en détournent, alors dis-leur; «Je vous ai avertis d'une foudre semblable à celle qui frappa les 'Aad et les Tamûd»

But if they turn away, then say, "I have warned you of a thunderbolt like the thunderbolt [that struck] 'Aad and Thamud

إِذْ جَآءَتْهُمُ اُ۬لرُّسُلُ مِنۢ بَيْنِ أَيْدِيهِمْ وَمِنْ خَلْفِهِمُۥٓ أَلَّا تَعْبُدُوٓاْ إِلَّا اَ۬للَّهَۖ قَالُواْ لَوْ شَآءَ رَبُّنَا لَأَنزَلَ مَلَٰٓئِكَةٗ فَإِنَّا بِمَآ أُرْسِلْتُم بِهِۦ كَٰفِرُونَۖ ﰌ

Idh jâ'athumu rrusulu mim bayni aydîhim wamin khalfihimû allâ ta‘budû illâ llâha qâlû law shâ'a rabbunâ la'anzala malâ'ikatan fa'innâ bimâ ursiltum bihî kâfirûn

Quand les Messagers leur étaient venus, de devant eux et par derrière, [leur disant]: «N'adorez qu'Allah», ils dirent: «Si notre Seigneur avait voulu, Il aurait certainement fait descendre des Anges. Nous ne croyons donc pas [au message] avec lequel vous avez été envoyés»

[That occurred] when the messengers had come to them before them and after them, [saying], "Worship not except Allah." They said, "If our Lord had willed, He would have sent down the angels, so indeed we, in that with which you have been sent, are disbelievers

فَأَمَّا عَادٞ فَاسْتَكْبَرُواْ فِے اِ۬لَارْضِ بِغَيْرِ اِ۬لْحَقِّ وَقَالُواْ مَنَ اَشَدُّ مِنَّا قُوَّةًۖ اَوَلَمْ يَرَوَاْ اَنَّ اَ۬للَّهَ اَ۬لذِے خَلَقَهُمْ هُوَ أَشَدُّ مِنْهُمْ قُوَّةٗۖ وَكَانُواْ بِـَٔايَٰتِنَا يَجْحَدُونَۖ ﰍ

Fa'ammâ ‘âdun fastakbarû fî lardi bighayri lhaqqi waqâlû mana shaddu minnâ quwwatana walam yarawa nna llâha lladhî khalaqahum huwa ashaddu minhum quwwatan wakânû bi'âyâtinâ yajhadûn

Quant aux 'Aad, ils s'enflèrent d'orgueil sur terre injustement et dirent: «Qui est plus fort que nous?» Quoi! N'ont-ils pas vu qu'en vérité Allah qui les a créés est plus fort qu'eux? Et ils reniaient Nos signes

As for 'Aad, they were arrogant upon the earth without right and said, "Who is greater than us in strength?" Did they not consider that Allah who created them was greater than them in strength? But they were rejecting Our signs

فَأَرْسَلْنَا عَلَيْهِمْ رِيحاٗ صَرْصَراٗ فِےٓ أَيَّامٖ نَّحْسَاتٖ لِّنُذِيقَهُمْ عَذَابَ اَ۬لْخِزْيِ فِے اِ۬لْحَيَوٰةِ اِ۬لدُّنْي۪اۖ وَلَعَذَابُ اُ۬لَاخِرَةِ أَخْز۪ىٰ وَهُمْ لَا يُنصَرُونَۖ ﰎ

Fa'arsalnâ ‘alayhim rîhan sarsaran fî ayyâmin nahsâtil linudhîqahum ‘adhâba lkhizyi fî lhayawâti ddunyê wala‘adhâbu lakhirati akhzê wahum lâ yunsarûn

Nous déchaînâmes contre eux un vent violent et glacial en des jours néfastes, afin de leur faire goûter le châtiment de l'ignominie dans la vie présente. Le châtiment de l'au-delà cependant est plus ignominieux encore, et ils ne seront pas secourus

So We sent upon them a screaming wind during days of misfortune to make them taste the punishment of disgrace in the worldly life; but the punishment of the Hereafter is more disgracing, and they will not be helped

۞ وَأَمَّا ثَمُودُ فَهَدَيْنَٰهُمْ فَاسْتَحَبُّواْ اُ۬لْعَم۪ىٰ عَلَى اَ۬لْهُد۪ىٰ فَأَخَذَتْهُمْ صَٰعِقَةُ اُ۬لْعَذَابِ اِ۬لْهُونِ بِمَا كَانُواْ يَكْسِبُونَۖ ﰏ

Wa'ammâ thamûdu fahadaynâhum fastahabbû l‘amê ‘alâ lhudê fa'akhadhathum sâ‘iqatu l‘adhâbi lhûni bimâ kânû yaksibûn

Et quant aux Tamûd, Nous les guidâmes; mais ils ont préféré l'aveuglement à la guidée. C'est alors qu'ils furent saisis par la foudre du supplice le plus humiliant pour ce qu'ils avaient acquis

And as for Thamud, We guided them, but they preferred blindness over guidance, so the thunderbolt of humiliating punishment seized them for what they used to earn

وَنَجَّيْنَا اَ۬لذِينَ ءَامَنُواْ وَكَانُواْ يَتَّقُونَۖ ﰐ

Wanajjaynâ lladhîna âmanû wakânû yattaqûn

Et Nous sauvâmes ceux qui croyaient et craignaient Allah

And We saved those who believed and used to fear Allah

وَيَوْمَ نَحْشُرُ أَعْدَآءَ اَ۬للَّهِ إِلَى اَ۬لنّ۪ارِ فَهُمْ يُوزَعُونَۖ ﰑ

Wayawma nahshuru a‘dâ'a llâhi ilâ nnêri fahum yûza‘ûn

Et le jour où les ennemis d'Allah seront rassemblés en masse vers le Feu... Puis on les poussera [dans sa direction]

And [mention, O Muhammad], the Day when the enemies of Allah will be gathered to the Fire while they are [driven] assembled in rows

حَتَّىٰٓ إِذَا مَا جَآءُوهَا شَهِدَ عَلَيْهِمْ سَمْعُهُمْ وَأَبْصَٰرُهُمْ وَجُلُودُهُم بِمَا كَانُواْ يَعْمَلُونَۖ ﰒ

Hattâ idhâ mâ jâ'ûhâ shahida ‘alayhim sam‘uhum wa'absâruhum wajulûduhum bimâ kânû ya‘malûn

Alors, quand ils y seront, leur ouïe, leurs yeux et leurs peaux témoigneront contre eux de ce qu'ils œuvraient

Until, when they reach it, their hearing and their eyes and their skins will testify against them of what they used to do

وَقَالُواْ لِجُلُودِهِمْ لِمَ شَهِدتُّمْ عَلَيْنَاۖ قَالُوٓاْ أَنطَقَنَا اَ۬للَّهُ اُ۬لذِےٓ أَنطَقَ كُلَّ شَےْءٖۖ وَهُوَ خَلَقَكُمُۥٓ أَوَّلَ مَرَّةٖ وَإِلَيْهِ تُرْجَعُونَۖ ﰓ

Waqâlû lijulûdihim lima shahidttum ‘alaynâ qâlû antaqanâ llâhu lladhî antaqa kulla shay'in wahuwa khalaqakumû awwala marratin wa'ilayhi turja‘ûn

Ils diront à leurs peaux: «Pourquoi avez-vous témoigné contre nous?» Elles diront: «C'est Allah qui nous a fait parler, Lui qui fait parler toute chose. C'est Lui qui vous a créés une première fois et c'est vers Lui que vous serez retournés»

And they will say to their skins, "Why have you testified against us?" They will say, "We were made to speak by Allah, who has made everything speak; and He created you the first time, and to Him you are returned

وَمَا كُنتُمْ تَسْتَتِرُونَ أَنْ يَّشْهَدَ عَلَيْكُمْ سَمْعُكُمْ وَلَآ أَبْصَٰرُكُمْ وَلَا جُلُودُكُمْۖ وَلَٰكِن ظَنَنتُمُۥٓ أَنَّ اَ۬للَّهَ لَا يَعْلَمُ كَثِيراٗ مِّمَّا تَعْمَلُونَۖ ﰔ

Wamâ kuntum tastatirûna ay yashhada ‘alaykum sam‘ukum walâ absârukum walâ julûdukum walâkin zanantumû anna llâha lâ ya‘lamu kathîram mimmâ ta‘malûn

Vous ne pouviez vous cacher au point que ni votre ouïe, ni vos yeux et ni vos peaux ne puissent témoigner contre vous. Mais vous pensiez qu'Allah ne savait pas beaucoup de ce que vous faisiez

And you were not covering yourselves, lest your hearing testify against you or your sight or your skins, but you assumed that Allah does not know much of what you do

وَذَٰلِكُمْ ظَنُّكُمُ اُ۬لذِے ظَنَنتُم بِرَبِّكُمُۥٓ أَرْد۪يٰكُمْ فَأَصْبَحْتُم مِّنَ اَ۬لْخَٰسِرِينَۖ ﰕ

Wadhâlikum zannukumu lladhî zanantum birabbikumû ardêkum fa'asbahtum mina lkhâsirîn

Et c'est cette pensée que vous avez eue de votre Seigneur, qui vous a ruinés, de sorte que vous êtes devenus du nombre des perdants

And that was your assumption which you assumed about your Lord. It has brought you to ruin, and you have become among the losers

فَإِنْ يَّصْبِرُواْ فَالنَّارُ مَثْوىٗ لَّهُمْۖ وَإِنْ يَّسْتَعْتِبُواْ فَمَا هُم مِّنَ اَ۬لْمُعْتَبِينَۖ ﰖ

Fa'iy yasbirû fannâru mathwal lahum wa'iy yasta‘tibû famâ hum mina lmu‘tabîn

S'ils endurent, le Feu sera leur lieu de séjour; et s'ils cherchent à s'excuser, ils ne seront pas excusés

So [even] if they are patient, the Fire is a residence for them; and if they ask to appease [Allah], they will not be of those who are allowed to appease

۞ وَقَيَّضْنَا لَهُمْ قُرَنَآءَ فَزَيَّنُواْ لَهُم مَّا بَيْنَ أَيْدِيهِمْ وَمَا خَلْفَهُمْۖ وَحَقَّ عَلَيْهِمُ اُ۬لْقَوْلُ فِےٓ أُمَمٖ قَدْ خَلَتْ مِن قَبْلِهِم مِّنَ اَ۬لْجِنِّ وَالِانسِۖ إِنَّهُمْ كَانُواْ خَٰسِرِينَۖ ﰗ

Waqayyadnâ lahum quranâ'a fazayyanû lahum mâ bayna aydîhim wamâ khalfahum wahaqqa ‘alayhimu lqawlu fî umamin qad khalat min qablihim mina ljinni walinsi innahum kânû khâsirîn

Et Nous leur avons destiné des compagnons inséparables [des démons] qui leur ont enjolivé ce qui était devant et derrière eux. Et le décret s'est avéré juste contre eux, comme contre les autres communautés de djinns et d'hommes qui ont vécu avant eux. Ils sont certes perdants

And We appointed for them companions who made attractive to them what was before them and what was behind them [of sin], and the word has come into effect upon them among nations which had passed on before them of jinn and men. Indeed, they [all] were losers

وَقَالَ اَ۬لذِينَ كَفَرُواْ لَا تَسْمَعُواْ لِهَٰذَا اَ۬لْقُرْءَانِ وَالْغَوْاْ فِيهِ لَعَلَّكُمْ تَغْلِبُونَۖ ﰘ

Waqâla lladhîna kafarû lâ tasma‘û lihâdhâ lqur'âni walghaw fîhi la‘allakum taghlibûn

Et ceux qui avaient mécru dirent: «Ne prêtez pas l'oreille à ce Coran, et faites du chahut (pendant sa récitation), afin d'avoir le dessus»

And those who disbelieve say, "Do not listen to this Qur'an and speak noisily during [the recitation of] it that perhaps you will overcome

فَلَنُذِيقَنَّ اَ۬لذِينَ كَفَرُواْ عَذَاباٗ شَدِيداٗ وَلَنَجْزِيَنَّهُمُۥٓ أَسْوَأَ اَ۬لذِے كَانُواْ يَعْمَلُونَۖ ﰙ

Falanudhîqanna lladhîna kafarû ‘adhâban shadîdan walanajziyannahumû aswa'a lladhî kânû ya‘malûn

Nous ferons certes, goûter à ceux qui ne croient pas un dur châtiment, et les rétribuerons certes [d'une punition] pire que ce [que méritent] leurs méfaits

But We will surely cause those who disbelieve to taste a severe punishment, and We will surely recompense them for the worst of what they had been doing

ذَٰلِكَ جَزَآءُ اَ۬عْدَآءِ اِ۬للَّهِ اِ۬لنَّارُۖ لَهُمْ فِيهَا دَارُ اُ۬لْخُلْدِۖ جَزَآءَۢ بِمَا كَانُواْ بِـَٔايَٰتِنَا يَجْحَدُونَۖ ﰚ

Dhâlika jazâ'u ‘dâ'i llâhi nnâru lahum fîhâ dâru lkhuldi jazâ'am bimâ kânû bi'âyâtinâ yajhadûn

Ainsi, la rétribution des ennemis d'Allah sera le Feu où ils auront une demeure éternelle, comme punition pour avoir nié Nos versets [le Coran]

That is the recompense of the enemies of Allah - the Fire. For them therein is the home of eternity as recompense for what they, of Our verses, were rejecting

وَقَالَ اَ۬لذِينَ كَفَرُواْ رَبَّنَآ أَرِنَا اَ۬لذَيْنِ أَضَلَّٰنَا مِنَ اَ۬لْجِنِّ وَالِانسِ نَجْعَلْهُمَا تَحْتَ أَقْدَامِنَا لِيَكُونَا مِنَ اَ۬لَاسْفَلِينَۖ ﰛ

Waqâla lladhîna kafarû rabbanâ arinâ lladhayni adallânâ mina ljinni walinsi naj‘alhumâ tahta aqdâminâ liyakûnâ mina lasfalîn

Et les mécréants diront: «Seigneur, fais-nous voir ceux des djinns et des humains qui nous ont égarés, afin que nous les placions tous sous nos pieds, pour qu'ils soient parmi les plus bas»

And those who disbelieved will [then] say, "Our Lord, show us those who misled us of the jinn and men [so] we may put them under our feet that they will be among the lowest

إِنَّ اَ۬لذِينَ قَالُواْ رَبُّنَا اَ۬للَّهُ ثُمَّ اَ۪سْتَقَٰمُواْ تَتَنَزَّلُ عَلَيْهِمُ اُ۬لْمَلَٰٓئِكَةُ أَلَّا تَخَافُواْ وَلَا تَحْزَنُواْ وَأَبْشِرُواْ بِالْجَنَّةِ اِ۬لتِے كُنتُمْ تُوعَدُونَۖ ﰜ

Inna lladhîna qâlû rabbunâ llâhu thumma staqâmû tatanazzalu ‘alayhimu lmalâ'ikatu allâ takhâfû walâ tahzanû wa'abshirû biljannati llatî kuntum tû‘adûn

Ceux qui disent: «Notre Seigneur est Allah», et qui se tiennent dans le droit chemin, les Anges descendent sur eux. «N'ayez pas peur et ne soyez pas affligés; mais ayez la bonne nouvelle du Paradis qui vous était promis

Indeed, those who have said, "Our Lord is Allah " and then remained on a right course - the angels will descend upon them, [saying], "Do not fear and do not grieve but receive good tidings of Paradise, which you were promised

نَحْنُ أَوْلِيَآؤُكُمْ فِے اِ۬لْحَيَوٰةِ اِ۬لدُّنْي۪ا وَفِے اِ۬لَاخِرَةِۖ وَلَكُمْ فِيهَا مَا تَشْتَهِےٓ أَنفُسُكُمْ وَلَكُمْ فِيهَا مَا تَدَّعُونَ ﰝ

Nahnu awliyâ'ukum fî lhayawâti ddunyê wafî lakhirati walakum fîhâ mâ tashtahî anfusukum walakum fîhâ mâ tadda‘ûn

Nous sommes vos protecteurs dans la vie présente et dans l'au-delà; et vous y aurez ce que vos âmes désireront et ce que vous réclamerez

We [angels] were your allies in worldly life and [are so] in the Hereafter. And you will have therein whatever your souls desire, and you will have therein whatever you request [or wish]

نُزُلاٗ مِّنْ غَفُورٖ رَّحِيمٖۖ ﰞ

Nuzulam min ghafûrir rahîm

un lieu d'accueil de la part d'un Très Grand Pardonneur, d'un Très Miséricordieux»

As accommodation from a [Lord who is] Forgiving and Merciful

وَمَنَ اَحْسَنُ قَوْلاٗ مِّمَّن دَعَآ إِلَى اَ۬للَّهِ وَعَمِلَ صَٰلِحاٗ وَقَالَ إِنَّنِے مِنَ اَ۬لْمُسْلِمِينَۖ ﰟ

Wamana hsanu qawlam mimman da‘â ilâ llâhi wa‘amila sâlihan waqâla innanî mina lmuslimîn

Et qui profère plus belles paroles que celui qui appelle à Allah, fait bonne œuvre et dit: «Je suis du nombre des Musulmans?»

And who is better in speech than one who invites to Allah and does righteousness and says, "Indeed, I am of the Muslims

وَلَا تَسْتَوِے اِ۬لْحَسَنَةُ وَلَا اَ۬لسَّيِّئَةُۖ اُ۪دْفَعْ بِالتِے هِيَ أَحْسَنُ فَإِذَا اَ۬لذِے بَيْنَكَ وَبَيْنَهُۥ عَدَٰوَةٞ كَأَنَّهُۥ وَلِيٌّ حَمِيمٞۖ ﰠ

Walâ tastawî lhasanatu walâ ssayyî'atu dfa‘ billatî hiya ahsanu fa'idhâ lladhî baynaka wabaynahû ‘adâwatun ka'annahû waliyyun hamîm

La bonne action et la mauvaise ne sont pas pareilles. Repousse (le mal) par ce qui est meilleur; et voilà que celui avec qui tu avais une animosité devient tel un ami chaleureux

And not equal are the good deed and the bad. Repel [evil] by that [deed] which is better; and thereupon the one whom between you and him is enmity [will become] as though he was a devoted friend

وَمَا يُلَقّ۪يٰهَآ إِلَّا اَ۬لذِينَ صَبَرُواْۖ وَمَا يُلَقّ۪يٰهَآ إِلَّا ذُو حَظٍّ عَظِيمٖۖ ﰡ

Wamâ yulaqqêhâ illâ lladhîna sabarû wamâ yulaqqêhâ illâ dhû hazzin ‘azîm

Mais (ce privilège) n'est donné qu'à ceux qui endurent et il n'est donné qu'au possesseur d'une grâce infinie

But none is granted it except those who are patient, and none is granted it except one having a great portion [of good]

وَإِمَّا يَنزَغَنَّكَ مِنَ اَ۬لشَّيْطَٰنِ نَزْغٞ فَاسْتَعِذْ بِاللَّهِۖ إِنَّهُۥ هُوَ اَ۬لسَّمِيعُ اُ۬لْعَلِيمُۖ ﰢ

Wa'immâ yanzaghannaka mina shshaytâni nazghun fasta‘idh billâhi innahû huwa ssamî‘u l‘alîm

Et si jamais le Diable t'incite (à agir autrement), alors cherche refuge auprès d'Allah; c'est Lui, vraiment l'Audient, l'Omniscient

And if there comes to you from Satan an evil suggestion, then seek refuge in Allah. Indeed, He is the Hearing, the Knowing

وَمِنَ اٰيَٰتِهِ اِ۬ليْلُ وَالنَّهَارُ وَالشَّمْسُ وَالْقَمَرُۖ لَا تَسْجُدُواْ لِلشَّمْسِ وَلَا لِلْقَمَرِۖ وَاسْجُدُواْ لِلهِ اِ۬لذِے خَلَقَهُنَّ إِن كُنتُمُۥٓ إِيَّاهُ تَعْبُدُونَۖ۩ ﰣ

Wamina âyâtihi llaylu wannahâru washshamsu walqamaru lâ tasjudû lishshamsi walâ lilqamari wasjudû lillâhi lladhî khalaqahunna in kuntumû iyyâhu ta‘budûn

Parmi Ses merveilles, sont la nuit et le jour, le soleil et la lune: ne vous prosternez ni devant le soleil, ni devant la lune, mais prosternez-vous devant Allah qui les a créés, si c'est Lui que vous adorez

And of His signs are the night and day and the sun and moon. Do not prostrate to the sun or to the moon, but prostate to Allah, who created them, if it should be Him that you worship

۞ فَإِنِ اِ۪سْتَكْبَرُواْ فَالذِينَ عِندَ رَبِّكَ يُسَبِّحُونَ لَهُۥ بِاليْلِ وَالنَّه۪ارِ وَهُمْ لَا يَسْـَٔمُونَۖ ﰤ

Fa'ini stakbarû falladhîna ‘inda rabbika yusabbihûna lahû billayli wannahêri wahum lâ yas'amûn

Mais s'ils s'enflent d'orgueil... ceux qui sont auprès de ton Seigneur [les Anges] Le glorifient, nuit et jour, sans jamais se lasser

But if they are arrogant - then those who are near your Lord exalt Him by night and by day, and they do not become weary

وَمِنَ اٰيَٰتِهِۦٓ أَنَّكَ تَرَى اَ۬لَارْضَ خَٰشِعَةٗ فَإِذَآ أَنزَلْنَا عَلَيْهَا اَ۬لْمَآءَ اَ۪هْتَزَّتْ وَرَبَتِۖ اِنَّ اَ۬لذِےٓ أَحْي۪اهَا لَمُحْيِ اِ۬لْمَوْت۪ىٰٓۖ إِنَّهُۥ عَلَىٰ كُلِّ شَےْءٖ قَدِيرٌۖ ﰥ

Wamina âyâtihî annaka tarâ larda khâshi‘atan fa'idhâ anzalnâ ‘alayhâ lmâ'a htazzat warabati nna lladhî ahyêhâ lamuhyi lmawtê innahû ‘alâ kulli shay'in qadîr

Et parmi Ses merveilles est que tu vois la terre humiliée (toute nue). Puis aussitôt que Nous faisons descendre l'eau sur elle, elle se soulève et augmente [de volume]. Celui qui lui redonne la vie est certes Celui qui fera revivre les morts, car Il est Omnipotent

And of His signs is that you see the earth stilled, but when We send down upon it rain, it quivers and grows. Indeed, He who has given it life is the Giver of Life to the dead. Indeed, He is over all things competent

اِنَّ اَ۬لذِينَ يُلْحِدُونَ فِےٓ ءَايَٰتِنَا لَا يَخْفَوْنَ عَلَيْنَآۖ أَفَمَنْ يُّلْق۪ىٰ فِے اِ۬لنّ۪ارِ خَيْرٌ اَم مَّنْ يَّاتِےٓ ءَامِناٗ يَوْمَ اَ۬لْقِيَٰمَةِۖ اِ۪عْمَلُواْ مَا شِئْتُمُۥٓۖ إِنَّهُۥ بِمَا تَعْمَلُونَ بَصِيرٌۖ ﰦ

Inna lladhîna yulhidûna fî âyâtinâ lâ yakhfawna ‘alaynâ afamay yulqê fî nnêri khayruna m may yâtî âminan yawma lqiyâmati ‘malû mâ shî'tumû innahû bimâ ta‘malûna basîr

Ceux qui dénaturent le sens de Nos versets (le Coran) ne Nous échappent pas. Celui qui sera jeté au Feu sera-t-il meilleur que celui qui viendra en toute sécurité le Jour de la Résurrection? Faites ce que vous voulez car Il est Clairvoyant sur tout ce que vous faites

Indeed, those who inject deviation into Our verses are not concealed from Us. So, is he who is cast into the Fire better or he who comes secure on the Day of Resurrection? Do whatever you will; indeed, He is Seeing of what you do

اِنَّ اَ۬لذِينَ كَفَرُواْ بِالذِّكْرِ لَمَّا جَآءَهُمْ وَإِنَّهُۥ لَكِتَٰبٌ عَزِيزٞ ﰧ

Inna lladhîna kafarû bidhdhikri lammâ jâ'ahum wa'innahû lakitâbun ‘azîz

Ceux qui ne croient pas au Rappel [le Coran] quand il leur parvient... alors que c'est un Livre puissant [inattaquable]

Indeed, those who disbelieve in the message after it has come to them... And indeed, it is a mighty Book

لَّا يَاتِيهِ اِ۬لْبَٰطِلُ مِنۢ بَيْنِ يَدَيْهِ وَلَا مِنْ خَلْفِهِۦۖ تَنزِيلٞ مِّنْ حَكِيمٍ حَمِيدٖۖ ﰨ

Lâ yâtîhi lbâtilu mim bayni yadayhi walâ min khalfihî tanzîlum min hakîmin hamîd

Le faux ne l'atteint [d'aucune part], ni par devant ni par derrière: c'est une révélation émanant d'un Sage, Digne de louange

Falsehood cannot approach it from before it or from behind it; [it is] a revelation from a [Lord who is] Wise and Praiseworthy

مَّا يُقَالُ لَكَ إِلَّا مَا قَدْ قِيلَ لِلرُّسُلِ مِن قَبْلِكَۖ إِنَّ رَبَّكَ لَذُو مَغْفِرَةٖ وَذُو عِقَابٍ اَلِيمٖۖ ﰩ

Mâ yuqâlu laka illâ mâ qad qîla lirrusuli min qablika inna rabbaka ladhû maghfiratin wadhû ‘iqâbina lîm

Il ne t'est dit que ce qui a été dit aux Messagers avant toi. Ton Seigneur est certes Détenteur du pardon et Détenteur aussi d'une punition douloureuse

Nothing is said to you, [O Muhammad], except what was already said to the messengers before you. Indeed, your Lord is a possessor of forgiveness and a possessor of painful penalty

وَلَوْ جَعَلْنَٰهُ قُرْءَاناً اَعْجَمِيّاٗ لَّقَالُواْ لَوْلَا فُصِّلَتَ اٰيَٰتُهُۥٓۖ ءَآعْجَمِيّٞ وَعَرَبِيّٞۖ قُلْ هُوَ لِلذِينَ ءَامَنُواْ هُدىٗ وَشِفَآءٞۖ وَالذِينَ لَا يُومِنُونَ فِےٓ ءَاذَانِهِمْ وَقْرٞ وَهُوَ عَلَيْهِمْ عَمىًۖ ا۟وْلَٰٓئِكَ يُنَادَوْنَ مِن مَّكَانِۢ بَعِيدٖۖ ﰪ

Walaw ja‘alnâhu qur'ânana ‘jamiyyal laqâlû lawlâ fussilata âyâtuhû â‘jamiyyun wa‘arabiyyun qul huwa lilladhîna âmanû hudan washifâ'un walladhîna lâ yûminûna fî âdhânihim waqrun wahuwa ‘alayhim ‘aman ulâ'ika yunâdawna mim makâni ba‘îd

Si Nous en avions fait un Coran en une langue autre que l'arabe, ils auraient dit: «Pourquoi ses versets n'ont-ils pas été exposés clairement? quoi? Un [Coran] non-arabe et [un Messager] arabe?» Dis: «Pour ceux qui croient, il est une guidée et une guérison». Et quant à ceux qui ne croient pas, il y a une surdité dans leurs oreilles et ils sont frappés d'aveuglement en ce qui le concerne; ceux-là sont appelés d'un endroit lointain

And if We had made it a non-Arabic Qur'an, they would have said, "Why are its verses not explained in detail [in our language]? Is it a foreign [recitation] and an Arab [messenger]?" Say, "It is, for those who believe, a guidance and cure." And those who do not believe - in their ears is deafness, and it is upon them blindness. Those are being called from a distant place

وَلَقَدَ اٰتَيْنَا مُوسَى اَ۬لْكِتَٰبَ فَاخْتُلِفَ فِيهِۖ وَلَوْلَا كَلِمَةٞ سَبَقَتْ مِن رَّبِّكَ لَقُضِيَ بَيْنَهُمْۖ وَإِنَّهُمْ لَفِے شَكّٖ مِّنْهُ مُرِيبٖۖ ﰫ

Walaqada âtaynâ mûsâ lkitâba fakhtulifa fîhi walawlâ kalimatun sabaqat mir rabbika laqudiya baynahum wa'innahum lafî shakkim minhu murîb

Nous avons effectivement donné à Moïse le Livre. Puis, il y eut controverse là-dessus. Et si ce n'était une parole préalable de ton Seigneur, on aurait certainement tranché entre eux. Ils sont vraiment, à son sujet, dans un doute troublant

And We had already given Moses the Scripture, but it came under disagreement. And if not for a word that preceded from your Lord, it would have been concluded between them. And indeed they are, concerning the Qur'an, in disquieting doubt

مَّنْ عَمِلَ صَٰلِحاٗ فَلِنَفْسِهِۦۖ وَمَنَ اَسَآءَ فَعَلَيْهَاۖ وَمَا رَبُّكَ بِظَلَّٰمٖ لِّلْعَبِيدِۖ ﰬ

Man ‘amila sâlihan falinafsihî wamana sâ'a fa‘alayhâ wamâ rabbuka bizallâmil lil‘abîd

Quiconque fait une bonne œuvre, c'est pour son bien. Et quiconque fait le mal, il le fait à ses dépens. Ton Seigneur, cependant, n'est point injuste envers les serviteurs

Whoever does righteousness - it is for his [own] soul; and whoever does evil [does so] against it. And your Lord is not ever unjust to [His] servants

۞ إِلَيْهِ يُرَدُّ عِلْمُ اُ۬لسَّاعَةِۖ وَمَا تَخْرُجُ مِن ثَمَرَٰتٖ مِّنَ اَكْمَامِهَا وَمَا تَحْمِلُ مِنُ ا۟نث۪ىٰ وَلَا تَضَعُ إِلَّا بِعِلْمِهِۦۖ وَيَوْمَ يُنَادِيهِمُۥٓ أَيْنَ شُرَكَآءِے قَالُوٓاْ ءَاذَنَّٰكَ مَا مِنَّا مِن شَهِيدٖۖ ﰭ

Ilayhi yuraddu ‘ilmu ssâ‘ati wamâ takhruju min thamarâtim mina kmâmihâ wamâ tahmilu minu unthê walâ tada‘u illâ bi‘ilmihî wayawma yunâdîhimû ayna shurakâ'î qâlû âdhannâka mâ minnâ min shahîd

A Lui revient la connaissance de l'Heure. Aucun fruit ne sort de son enveloppe, aucune femelle ne conçoit ni ne met bas sans qu'Il n'en ait connaissance. Et le jour où Il les appellera: «Où sont Mes associés?», ils diront: «Nous Te déclarons qu'il n'y a point de témoin parmi nous»

To him [alone] is attributed knowledge of the Hour. And fruits emerge not from their coverings nor does a female conceive or give birth except with His knowledge. And the Day He will call to them, "Where are My 'partners'?" they will say, "We announce to You that there is [no longer] among us any witness [to that]

وَضَلَّ عَنْهُم مَّا كَانُواْ يَدْعُونَ مِن قَبْلُ وَظَنُّواْۖ مَا لَهُم مِّن مَّحِيصٖۖ ﰮ

Wadalla ‘anhum mâ kânû yad‘ûna min qablu wazannû mâ lahum mim mahîs

Et ce qu'auparavant ils invoquaient les délaissera; et ils réaliseront qu'ils n'ont point d'échappatoire

And lost from them will be those they were invoking before, and they will be certain that they have no place of escape

لَّا يَسْـَٔمُ اُ۬لِانسَٰنُ مِن دُعَآءِ اِ۬لْخَيْرِۖ وَإِن مَّسَّهُ اُ۬لشَّرُّ فَيَـُٔوسٞ قَنُوطٞۖ ﰯ

Lâ yas'amu linsânu min du‘â'i lkhayri wa'im massahu shsharru faya'ûsun qanût

L'homme ne se lasse pas d'implorer le bien. Si le mal le touche, le voilà désespéré, désemparé

Man is not weary of supplication for good [things], but if evil touches him, he is hopeless and despairing

وَلَئِنَ اَذَقْنَٰهُ رَحْمَةٗ مِّنَّا مِنۢ بَعْدِ ضَرَّآءَ مَسَّتْهُ لَيَقُولَنَّ هَٰذَا لِے وَمَآ أَظُنُّ اُ۬لسَّاعَةَ قَآئِمَةٗ وَلَئِن رُّجِعْتُ إِلَىٰ رَبِّيَ إِنَّ لِے عِندَهُۥ لَلْحُسْن۪ىٰۖ فَلَنُنَبِّئَنَّ اَ۬لذِينَ كَفَرُواْ بِمَا عَمِلُواْ وَلَنُذِيقَنَّهُم مِّنْ عَذَابٍ غَلِيظٖۖ ﰰ

Wala'ina dhaqnâhu rahmatam minnâ mim ba‘di darrâ'a massathu layaqûlanna hâdhâ lî wamâ azunnu ssâ‘ata qâ'imatan wala'ir ruji‘tu ilâ rabbiya inna lî ‘indahû lalhusnê falanunabbî'anna lladhîna kafarû bimâ ‘amilû walanudhîqannahum min ‘adhâbin ghalîz

Et si nous lui faisons goûter une miséricorde de Notre part, après qu'une détresse l'ait touché, il dit certainement: «Cela m'est dû! Et je ne pense pas que l'Heure se lèvera [un jour]. Et si je suis ramené vers mon Seigneur, je trouverai, près de Lui, la plus belle part». Nous informerons ceux qui ont mécru de ce qu'ils ont fait et Nous leur ferons sûrement goûter à un dur châtiment

And if We let him taste mercy from Us after an adversity which has touched him, he will surely say, "This is [due] to me, and I do not think the Hour will occur; and [even] if I should be returned to my Lord, indeed, for me there will be with Him the best." But We will surely inform those who disbelieved about what they did, and We will surely make them taste a massive punishment

وَإِذَآ أَنْعَمْنَا عَلَى اَ۬لِانسَٰنِ أَعْرَضَ وَنَـ۪ٔا بِجَانِبِهِۦۖ وَإِذَا مَسَّهُ اُ۬لشَّرُّ فَذُو دُعَآءٍ عَرِيضٖۖ ﰱ

Wa'idhâ an‘amnâ ‘alâ linsâni a‘rada wana'ê bijânibihî wa'idhâ massahu shsharru fadhû du‘â'in ‘arîd

Quand Nous comblons de bienfaits l'homme, il s'esquive et s'éloigne. Et quand un malheur le touche, il se livre alors à une longue prière

And when We bestow favor upon man, he turns away and distances himself; but when evil touches him, then he is full of extensive supplication

قُلَ اَرَٰٓيْتُمُۥٓ إِن كَانَ مِنْ عِندِ اِ۬للَّهِ ثُمَّ كَفَرْتُم بِهِۦ مَنَ اَضَلُّ مِمَّنْ هُوَ فِے شِقَاقِۢ بَعِيدٖۖ ﰲ

Qula râytumû in kâna min ‘indi llâhi thumma kafartum bihî mana dallu mimman huwa fî shiqâqim ba‘îd

Dis: «Voyez-vous? Si ceci (le Coran) émane d'Allah et qu'ensuite vous le reniez; qui se trouvera plus égaré que celui qui s'éloigne dans la dissidence?»

Say, "Have you considered: if the Qur'an is from Allah and you disbelieved in it, who would be more astray than one who is in extreme dissension

سَنُرِيهِمُۥٓ ءَايَٰتِنَا فِے اِ۬لَافَاقِ وَفِےٓ أَنفُسِهِمْ حَتَّىٰ يَتَبَيَّنَ لَهُمُۥٓ أَنَّهُ اُ۬لْحَقُّۖ أَوَلَمْ يَكْفِ بِرَبِّكَ أَنَّهُۥ عَلَىٰ كُلِّ شَےْءٖ شَهِيدٌۖ ﰳ

Sanurîhimû âyâtinâ fî lafâqi wafî anfusihim hattâ yatabayyana lahumû annahu lhaqqu awalam yakfi birabbika annahû ‘alâ kulli shay'in shahîd

Nous leur montrerons Nos signes dans l'univers et en eux-mêmes, jusqu'à ce qu'il leur devienne évident que c'est cela (le Coran), la vérité. Ne suffit-il pas que ton Seigneur soit témoin de toute chose

We will show them Our signs in the horizons and within themselves until it becomes clear to them that it is the truth. But is it not sufficient concerning your Lord that He is, over all things, a Witness

اَلَآ إِنَّهُمْ فِے مِرْيَةٖ مِّن لِّقَآءِ رَبِّهِمُۥٓۖ أَلَآ إِنَّهُۥ بِكُلِّ شَےْءٖ مُّحِيطٌۖ ﰴ

Alâ innahum fî miryatim mil liqâ'i rabbihimû alâ innahû bikulli shay'im muhît

Ils sont dans le doute, n'est-ce pas, au sujet de la rencontre de leur Seigneur? C'est Lui certes qui embrasse toute chose (par Sa science et Sa puissance)

Unquestionably, they are in doubt about the meeting with their Lord. Unquestionably He is, of all things, encompassing
