Au nom d'Allah, le Tout Miséricordieux, le Très Miséricordieux. In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful.
Yâ'ayyuhâ lmuddaththir
O, toi (Muhammad)! Le revêtu d'un manteau
O you who covers himself [with a garment]
Qum fa'andhir
Lève-toi et avertis
Arise and warn
Warabbaka fakabbir
Et de ton Seigneur, célèbre la grandeur
And your Lord glorify
Wathiyâbaka fatahhir
Et tes vêtements, purifie-les
And your clothing purify
Warrijza fahjur
Et de tout péché, écarte-toi
And uncleanliness avoid
And do not confer favor to acquire more
Walirabbika fasbir
Et pour ton Seigneur, endure
But for your Lord be patient
Fa'idhâ nuqira fî nnâqûr
Quand on sonnera du Clairon
And when the trumpet is blown
Fadhâlika yawma'idhin yawmun ‘asîr
alors, ce jour-là sera un jour difficile
That Day will be a difficult day
‘alâ lkêfirîna ghayru yasîr
pas facile pour les mécréants
For the disbelievers - not easy
Leave Me with the one I created alone
And to whom I granted extensive wealth
And children present [with him]
And spread [everything] before him, easing [his life]
Then he desires that I should add more
No! Indeed, he has been toward Our verses obstinate
I will cover him with arduous torment
Innahû fakkara waqaddar
Il a réfléchi. Et il a décidé
Indeed, he thought and deliberated
Faqutila kayfa qaddar
Qu'il périsse! Comme il a décidé
So may he be destroyed [for] how he deliberated
Thumma qutila kayfa qaddar
Then may he be destroyed [for] how he deliberated
Thumma nazar
Ensuite, il a regardé
Then he considered [again]
Thumma ‘abasa wabasar
Then he frowned and scowled
Thumma adbara wastakbar
Then he turned back and was arrogant
Faqâla in hâdhâ illâ sihrun yûthar
And said, "This is not but magic imitated [from others]
In hâdhâ illâ qawlu lbashar
ce n'est là que la parole d'un humain»
This is not but the word of a human being
I will drive him into Saqar
Wamâ adrêka mâ saqar
Et qui te dira ce qu'est Saqar
And what can make you know what is Saqar
It lets nothing remain and leaves nothing [unburned]
Lawwâhatul lilbashar
Il brûle la peau et la noircit
Blackening the skins
‘alayhâ tis‘ata ‘ashar
Ils sont dix neuf à y veiller
Over it are nineteen [angels]
Wamâ ja‘alnâ ashâba nnêri illâ malâ'ikatan wamâ ja‘alnâ ‘iddatahumû illâ fitnatal lilladhîna kafarû liyastayqina lladhîna ûtû lkitâba wayazdâda lladhîna âmanû îmânan walâ yartâba lladhîna ûtû lkitâba walmûminûna waliyaqûla lladhîna fî qulûbihim maradun walkâfirûna mâdhâ arâda llâhu bihâdhâ mathalan kadhâlika yudillu llâhu may yashâ'u wayahdî may yashâ'u wamâ ya‘lamu junûda rabbika illâ huwa wamâ hiya illâ dhikrê lilbashar
And We have not made the keepers of the Fire except angels. And We have not made their number except as a trial for those who disbelieve - that those who were given the Scripture will be convinced and those who have believed will increase in faith and those who were given the Scripture and the believers will not doubt and that those in whose hearts is hypocrisy and the disbelievers will say, "What does Allah intend by this as an example?" Thus does Allah leave astray whom He wills and guides whom He wills. And none knows the soldiers of your Lord except Him. And mention of the Fire is not but a reminder to humanity
Kallâ walqamar
Non!... Par la lune
No! By the moon
Wallayli idha dbar
And [by] the night when it departs
And [by] the morning when it brightens
Indeed, the Fire is of the greatest [afflictions]
Nadhîral lilbashar
un avertissement, pour les humains
As a warning to humanity
Liman shâ'a minkumû ay yataqaddama aw yata'akhkhar
To whoever wills among you to proceed or stay behind
Every soul, for what it has earned, will be retained
Except the companions of the right
[Who will be] in gardens, questioning each other About the criminals
[And asking them], "What put you into Saqar
They will say, "We were not of those who prayed
Walam naku nut‘imu lmiskîn
et nous ne nourrissions pas le pauvre
Nor did we used to feed the poor
And we used to enter into vain discourse with those who engaged [in it]
And we used to deny the Day of Recompense
Until there came to us the certainty
So there will not benefit them the intercession of [any] intercessors
Famâ lahum ‘ani ttadhkirati mu‘ridîn
Qu'ont-ils à se détourner du Rappel
Then what is [the matter] with them that they are, from the reminder, turning away
Ka'annahum humurum mustanfarah
Ils sont comme des onagres épouvantés
As if they were alarmed donkeys
Farrat min qaswarah
s'enfuyant devant un lion
Fleeing from a lion
Rather, every person among them desires that he would be given scriptures spread about
Kallâ bal lâ yakhâfûna lakhirah
Ah! Non!
No! But they do not fear the Hereafter
Kallâ innahû tadhkirah
Ah! Non! Ceci est vraiment un Rappel
No! Indeed, the Qur'an is a reminder
Faman shâ'a dhakarahû
Quiconque veut, qu'il se le rappelle
Then whoever wills will remember it
Wamâ tadhkurûna illâ ay yashâ'a llâhu huwa ahlu ttaqwê wa'ahlu lmaghfirah
And they will not remember except that Allah wills. He is worthy of fear and adequate for [granting] forgiveness
