وَالضُّح۪ىٰ ﰀ

Wadduhê

Par le Jour Montant

By the morning brightness

وَاليْلِ إِذَا سَج۪ىٰ ﰁ

Wallayli idhâ sajê

Et par la nuit quand elle couvre tout

And [by] the night when it covers with darkness

مَا وَدَّعَكَ رَبُّكَ وَمَا قَل۪ىٰۖ ﰂ

Mâ wadda‘aka rabbuka wamâ qalê

Ton Seigneur ne t'a ni abandonné, ni détesté

Your Lord has not taken leave of you, [O Muhammad], nor has He detested [you]

وَلَلَاخِرَةُ خَيْرٞ لَّكَ مِنَ اَ۬لُاول۪ىٰۖ ﰃ

Walalâkhiratu khayrul laka mina lûlê

La vie dernière t'est, certes, meilleure que la vie présente

And the Hereafter is better for you than the first [life]

وَلَسَوْفَ يُعْطِيكَ رَبُّكَ فَتَرْض۪ىٰٓۖ ﰄ

Walasawfa yu‘tîka rabbuka fatardê

Ton Seigneur t'accordera certes [Ses faveurs], et alors tu seras satisfait

And your Lord is going to give you, and you will be satisfied

أَلَمْ يَجِدْكَ يَتِيماٗ فَـَٔاو۪ىٰ ﰅ

Alam yajidka yatîman fa'âwê

Ne t'a-t-Il pas trouvé orphelin? Alors Il t'a accueilli

Did He not find you an orphan and give [you] refuge

وَوَجَدَكَ ضَآلّاٗ فَهَد۪ىٰ ﰆ

Wawajadaka dâllan fahadê

Ne t'a-t-Il pas trouvé égaré? Alors Il t'a guidé

And He found you lost and guided [you]

وَوَجَدَكَ عَآئِلاٗ فَأَغْن۪ىٰۖ ﰇ

Wawajadaka ‘â'ilan fa'aghnê

Ne t'a-t-Il pas trouvé pauvre? Alors Il t'a enrichi

And He found you poor and made [you] self-sufficient

فَأَمَّا اَ۬لْيَتِيمَ فَلَا تَقْهَرْۖ ﰈ

Fa'ammâ lyatîma falâ taqhar

Quant à l'orphelin, donc, ne le maltraite pas

So as for the orphan, do not oppress [him]

وَأَمَّا اَ۬لسَّآئِلَ فَلَا تَنْهَرْۖ ﰉ

Wa'ammâ ssâ'ila falâ tanhar

Quant au demandeur, ne le repousse pas

And as for the petitioner, do not repel [him]

وَأَمَّا بِنِعْمَةِ رَبِّكَ فَحَدِّثَۖ ﰊ

Wa'ammâ bini‘mati rabbika fahaddith

Et quant au bienfait de ton Seigneur, proclame-le

But as for the favor of your Lord, report [it]
