أَت۪ىٰٓ أَمْرُ اُ۬للَّهِ فَلَا تَسْتَعْجِلُوهُۖ سُبْحَٰنَهُۥ وَتَعَٰل۪ىٰ عَمَّا يُشْرِكُونَۖ ﰀ

Atê amru llâhi falâ tasta‘jilûhu subhânahû wata‘âlê ‘ammâ yushrikûn

L'ordre d'Allah arrive. Ne le hâtez donc pas. Gloire à Lui! Il est au-dessus de ce qu'on Lui associe

The command of Allah is coming, so be not impatient for it. Exalted is He and high above what they associate with Him

يُنَزِّلُ اُ۬لْمَلَٰٓئِكَةَ بِالرُّوحِ مِنَ اَمْرِهِۦ عَلَىٰ مَنْ يَّشَآءُ مِنْ عِبَادِهِۦٓ أَنَ اَنذِرُوٓاْ أَنَّهُۥ لَآ إِلَٰهَ إِلَّآ أَنَا فَاتَّقُونِۖ ﰁ

Yunazzilu lmalâ'ikata birrûhi mina mrihî ‘alâ may yashâ'u min ‘ibâdihî ana ndhirû annahû lâ ilâha illâ anâ fattaqûn

Il fait descendre, par Son ordre, les Anges, avec la révélation sur qui Il veut parmi Ses serviteurs: «Avertissez qu'il n'est d'autre divinité que Moi. Craignez-Moi donc»

He sends down the angels, with the inspiration of His command, upon whom He wills of His servants, [telling them], "Warn that there is no deity except Me; so fear Me

خَلَقَ اَ۬لسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَالَارْضَ بِالْحَقِّۖ تَعَٰل۪ىٰ عَمَّا يُشْرِكُونَۖ ﰂ

Khalaqa ssamâwâti walarda bilhaqqi ta‘âlê ‘ammâ yushrikûn

Il a créé les cieux et la terre avec juste raison. Il transcende ce qu'on [Lui] associe

He created the heavens and earth in truth. High is He above what they associate with Him

خَلَقَ اَ۬لِانسَٰنَ مِن نُّطْفَةٖ فَإِذَا هُوَ خَصِيمٞ مُّبِينٞۖ ﰃ

Khalaqa linsâna min nutfatin fa'idhâ huwa khasîmum mubîn

Il a créé l'homme d'une goutte de sperme; et voilà que l'homme devient un disputeur déclaré

He created man from a sperm-drop; then at once, he is a clear adversary

وَالَانْعَٰمَ خَلَقَهَاۖ لَكُمْ فِيهَا دِفْءٞ وَمَنَٰفِعُ وَمِنْهَا تَاكُلُونَۖ ﰄ

Walan‘âma khalaqahâ lakum fîhâ dif'un wamanâfi‘u waminhâ tâkulûn

Et les bestiaux, Il les a créés pour vous; vous en retirez des [vêtements] chauds ainsi que d'autres profits. Et vous en mangez aussi

And the grazing livestock He has created for you; in them is warmth and [numerous] benefits, and from them you eat

وَلَكُمْ فِيهَا جَمَالٌ حِينَ تُرِيحُونَ وَحِينَ تَسْرَحُونَۖ ﰅ

Walakum fîhâ jamâlun hîna turîhûna wahîna tasrahûn

Ils vous paraissent beaux quand vous les ramenez, le soir, et aussi le matin quand vous les lâchez pour le pâturage

And for you in them is [the enjoyment of] beauty when you bring them in [for the evening] and when you send them out [to pasture]

وَتَحْمِلُ أَثْقَالَكُمُۥٓ إِلَىٰ بَلَدٖ لَّمْ تَكُونُواْ بَٰلِغِيهِ إِلَّا بِشِقِّ اِ۬لَانفُسِۖ إِنَّ رَبَّكُمْ لَرَءُوفٞ رَّحِيمٞۖ ﰆ

Watahmilu athqâlakumû ilâ baladil lam takûnû bâlighîhi illâ bishiqqi lanfusi inna rabbakum lara'ûfur rahîm

Et ils portent vos fardeaux vers un pays que vous n'atteindriez qu'avec peine. Vraiment, votre Seigneur est Compatissant et Miséricordieux

And they carry your loads to a land you could not have reached except with difficulty to yourselves. Indeed, your Lord is Kind and Merciful

وَالْخَيْلَ وَالْبِغَالَ وَالْحَمِيرَ لِتَرْكَبُوهَا وَزِينَةٗۖ وَيَخْلُقُ مَا لَا تَعْلَمُونَۖ ﰇ

Walkhayla walbighâla walhamîra litarkabûhâ wazînatan wayakhluqu mâ lâ ta‘lamûn

Et les chevaux, les mulets et les ânes, pour que vous les montiez, et pour l'apparat. Et Il crée ce que vous ne savez pas

And [He created] the horses, mules and donkeys for you to ride and [as] adornment. And He creates that which you do not know

وَعَلَى اَ۬للَّهِ قَصْدُ اُ۬لسَّبِيلِ وَمِنْهَا جَآئِرٞۖ وَلَوْ شَآءَ لَهَد۪يٰكُمُۥٓ أَجْمَعِينَۖ ﰈ

Wa‘alâ llâhi qasdu ssabîli waminhâ jâ'irun walaw shâ'a lahadêkumû ajma‘în

Il appartient à Allah [par Sa grâce, de montrer] le droit chemin car il en est qui s'en détachent. Or, s'Il voulait, Il vous guiderait tous

And upon Allah is the direction of the [right] way, and among the various paths are those deviating. And if He willed, He could have guided you all

هُوَ اَ۬لذِےٓ أَنزَلَ مِنَ اَ۬لسَّمَآءِ مَآءٗ لَّكُم مِّنْهُ شَرَابٞ وَمِنْهُ شَجَرٞ فِيهِ تُسِيمُونَۖ ﰉ

Huwa lladhî anzala mina ssamâ'i mâ'al lakum minhu sharâbun waminhu shajarun fîhi tusîmûn

C'est Lui qui, du ciel, a fait descendre de l'eau qui vous sert de boisson et grâce à laquelle poussent des plantes dont vous nourrissez vos troupeaux

It is He who sends down rain from the sky; from it is drink and from it is foliage in which you pasture [animals]

يُنۢبِتُ لَكُم بِهِ اِ۬لزَّرْعَ وَالزَّيْتُونَ وَالنَّخِيلَ وَالَاعْنَٰبَ وَمِن كُلِّ اِ۬لثَّمَرَٰتِۖ إِنَّ فِے ذَٰلِكَ لَأٓيَةٗ لِّقَوْمٖ يَتَفَكَّرُونَۖ ﰊ

Yumbitu lakum bihi zzar‘a wazzaytûna wannakhîla wala‘nâba wamin kulli ththamarâti inna fî dhâlika la'yatal liqawmin yatafakkarûn

D'elle, Il fait pousser pour vous, les cultures, les oliviers, les palmiers, les vignes et aussi toutes sortes de fruits. Voilà bien là une preuve pour des gens qui réfléchissent

He causes to grow for you thereby the crops, olives, palm trees, grapevines, and from all the fruits. Indeed in that is a sign for a people who give thought

وَسَخَّرَ لَكُمُ اُ۬ليْلَ وَالنَّهَارَ وَالشَّمْسَ وَالْقَمَرَ وَالنُّجُومَ مُسَخَّرَٰتِۢ بِأَمْرِهِۦٓۖ إِنَّ فِے ذَٰلِكَ لَأٓيَٰتٖ لِّقَوْمٖ يَعْقِلُونَۖ ﰋ

Wasakhkhara lakumu llayla wannahâra washshamsa walqamara wannujûma musakhkharâtim bi'amrihî inna fî dhâlika la'yâtil liqawmin ya‘qilûn

Pour vous, Il a assujetti la nuit et le jour; le soleil et la lune. Et à Son ordre sont assujetties les étoiles. Voilà bien là des preuves pour des gens qui raisonnent

And He has subjected for you the night and day and the sun and moon, and the stars are subjected by His command. Indeed in that are signs for a people who reason

وَمَا ذَرَأَ لَكُمْ فِے اِ۬لَارْضِ مُخْتَلِفاً اَلْوَٰنُهُۥٓۖ إِنَّ فِے ذَٰلِكَ لَأٓيَةٗ لِّقَوْمٖ يَذَّكَّرُونَۖ ﰌ

Wamâ dhara'a lakum fî lardi mukhtalifana lwânuhû inna fî dhâlika la'yatal liqawmin yadhdhakkarûn

Ce qu'Il a créé pour vous sur la terre a des couleurs diverses. Voilà bien là une preuve pour des gens qui se rappellent

And [He has subjected] whatever He multiplied for you on the earth of varying colors. Indeed in that is a sign for a people who remember

وَهُوَ اَ۬لذِے سَخَّرَ اَ۬لْبَحْرَ لِتَاكُلُواْ مِنْهُ لَحْماٗ طَرِيّاٗ وَتَسْتَخْرِجُواْ مِنْهُ حِلْيَةٗ تَلْبَسُونَهَاۖ وَتَرَى اَ۬لْفُلْكَ مَوَاخِرَ فِيهِ وَلِتَبْتَغُواْ مِن فَضْلِهِۦ وَلَعَلَّكُمْ تَشْكُرُونَۖ ﰍ

Wahuwa lladhî sakhkhara lbahra litâkulû minhu lahman tariyyan watastakhrijû minhu hilyatan talbasûnahâ watarâ lfulka mawâkhira fîhi walitabtaghû min fadlihî wala‘allakum tashkurûn

Et c'est Lui qui a assujetti la mer afin que vous en mangiez une chair fraîche, et que vous en retiriez des parures que vous portez. Et tu vois les bateaux fendre la mer avec bruit, pour que vous partiez en quête de Sa grâce et afin que vous soyez reconnaissants

And it is He who subjected the sea for you to eat from it tender meat and to extract from it ornaments which you wear. And you see the ships plowing through it, and [He subjected it] that you may seek of His bounty; and perhaps you will be grateful

۞ وَأَلْق۪ىٰ فِے اِ۬لَارْضِ رَوَٰسِيَ أَن تَمِيدَ بِكُمْ وَأَنْهَٰراٗ وَسُبُلاٗ لَّعَلَّكُمْ تَهْتَدُونَ ﰎ

Wa'alqê fî lardi rawâsiya an tamîda bikum wa'anhâran wasubulal la‘allakum tahtadûn

Et Il a implanté des montagnes immobiles dans la terre afin qu'elle ne branle pas en vous emportant avec elle de même que des rivières et des sentiers, pour que vous vous guidiez

And He has cast into the earth firmly set mountains, lest it shift with you, and [made] rivers and roads, that you may be guided

وَعَلَٰمَٰتٖۖ وَبِالنَّجْمِ هُمْ يَهْتَدُونَۖ ﰏ

Wa‘alâmâtin wabiânnajmi hum yahtadûn

ainsi que des points de repère. Et au moyen des étoiles [les gens] se guident

And landmarks. And by the stars they are [also] guided

أَفَمَنْ يَّخْلُقُ كَمَن لَّا يَخْلُقُۖ أَفَلَا تَذَّكَّرُونَۖ ﰐ

Afamay yakhluqu kamal lâ yakhluqu afalâ tadhdhakkarûn

Celui qui crée est-il semblable à celui qui ne crée rien? Ne vous souvenez-vous pas

Then is He who creates like one who does not create? So will you not be reminded

وَإِن تَعُدُّواْ نِعْمَةَ اَ۬للَّهِ لَا تُحْصُوهَآۖ إِنَّ اَ۬للَّهَ لَغَفُورٞ رَّحِيمٞۖ ﰑ

Wa'in ta‘uddû ni‘mata llâhi lâ tuhsûhâ inna llâha laghafûrur rahîm

Et si vous comptez les bienfaits d'Allah, vous ne saurez pas les dénombrer. Car Allah est Pardonneur, et Miséricordieux

And if you should count the favors of Allah, you could not enumerate them. Indeed, Allah is Forgiving and Merciful

وَاللَّهُ يَعْلَمُ مَا تُسِرُّونَ وَمَا تُعْلِنُونَۖ ﰒ

Wallâhu ya‘lamu mâ tusirrûna wamâ tu‘linûn

Et Allah sait ce que vous cachez et ce que vous divulguez

And Allah knows what you conceal and what you declare

وَالذِينَ تَدْعُونَ مِن دُونِ اِ۬للَّهِ لَا يَخْلُقُونَ شَئْاٗ وَهُمْ يُخْلَقُونَۖ ﰓ

Walladhîna tad‘ûna min dûni llâhi lâ yakhluqûna shay'an wahum yukhlaqûn

Et ceux qu'ils invoquent en dehors d'Allah ne créent rien, et ils sont eux-mêmes créés

And those they invoke other than Allah create nothing, and they [themselves] are created

أَمْوَٰتٌ غَيْرُ أَحْيَآءٖۖ وَمَا يَشْعُرُونَ أَيَّانَ يُبْعَثُونَۖ ﰔ

Amwâtun ghayru ahyâ'in wamâ yash‘urûna ayyâna yub‘athûn

Ils sont morts, et non pas vivants, et ils ne savent pas quand ils seront ressuscités

They are, [in fact], dead, not alive, and they do not perceive when they will be resurrected

إِلَٰهُكُمُۥٓ إِلَٰهٞ وَٰحِدٞۖ فَالذِينَ لَا يُومِنُونَ بِالَاخِرَةِ قُلُوبُهُم مُّنكِرَةٞ وَهُم مُّسْتَكْبِرُونَۖ ﰕ

Ilâhukumû ilâhun wâhidun falladhîna lâ yûminûna bilakhirati qulûbuhum munkiratun wahum mustakbirûn

Votre Dieu est un Dieu unique. Ceux qui ne croient pas en l'au-delà leurs cœurs nient (l'unicité d'Allah) et ils sont remplis d'orgueil

Your god is one God. But those who do not believe in the Hereafter - their hearts are disapproving, and they are arrogant

لَا جَرَمَ أَنَّ اَ۬للَّهَ يَعْلَمُ مَا يُسِرُّونَ وَمَا يُعْلِنُونَۖ إِنَّهُۥ لَا يُحِبُّ اُ۬لْمُسْتَكْبِرِينَۖ ﰖ

Lâ jarama anna llâha ya‘lamu mâ yusirrûna wamâ yu‘linûna innahû lâ yuhibbu lmustakbirîn

Nul doute qu'Allah sait ce qu'ils cachent et ce qu'ils divulguent. Et assurément Il n'aime pas les orgueilleux

Assuredly, Allah knows what they conceal and what they declare. Indeed, He does not like the arrogant

وَإِذَا قِيلَ لَهُم مَّاذَآ أَنزَلَ رَبُّكُمْ قَالُوٓاْ أَسَٰطِيرُ اُ۬لَاوَّلِينَ ﰗ

Wa'idhâ qîla lahum mâdhâ anzala rabbukum qâlû asâtîru lawwalîn

Et lorsqu'on leur dit: «Qu'est-ce que votre Seigneur a fait descendre?» Ils disent: «Des légendes anciennes!»

And when it is said to them, "What has your Lord sent down?" They say, "Legends of the former peoples

لِيَحْمِلُوٓاْ أَوْزَارَهُمْ كَامِلَةٗ يَوْمَ اَ۬لْقِيَٰمَةِ وَمِنَ اَوْز۪ارِ اِ۬لذِينَ يُضِلُّونَهُم بِغَيْرِ عِلْمٍۖ اَلَا سَآءَ مَا يَزِرُونَۖ ﰘ

Liyahmilû awzârahum kâmilatan yawma lqiyâmati wamina wzêri lladhîna yudillûnahum bighayri ‘ilmina la sâ'a mâ yazirûn

Qu'ils portent donc, au Jour de la Résurrection, tous les fardeaux de leurs propres œuvres ainsi qu'une partie des fardeaux de ceux qu'ils égarent, sans le savoir; combien est mauvais [le fardeau] qu'ils portent

That they may bear their own burdens in full on the Day of Resurrection and some of the burdens of those whom they misguide without knowledge. Unquestionably, evil is that which they bear

قَدْ مَكَرَ اَ۬لذِينَ مِن قَبْلِهِمْ فَأَتَى اَ۬للَّهُ بُنْيَٰنَهُم مِّنَ اَ۬لْقَوَاعِدِ فَخَرَّ عَلَيْهِمُ اُ۬لسَّقْفُ مِن فَوْقِهِمْ وَأَت۪يٰهُمُ اُ۬لْعَذَابُ مِنْ حَيْثُ لَا يَشْعُرُونَۖ ﰙ

Qad makara lladhîna min qablihim fa'atâ llâhu bunyânahum mina lqawâ‘idi fakharra ‘alayhimu ssaqfu min fawqihim wa'atêhumu l‘adhâbu min haythu lâ yash‘urûn

Ceux qui ont vécu avant eux, certes, ont comploté, mais Allah attaqua les bases mêmes de leur bâtisse. Le toit s'écroula au-dessus d'eux et le châtiment les surprit d'où ils ne l'avaient pas pressenti

Those before them had already plotted, but Allah came at their building from the foundations, so the roof fell upon them from above them, and the punishment came to them from where they did not perceive

ثُمَّ يَوْمَ اَ۬لْقِيَٰمَةِ يُخْزِيهِمْ وَيَقُولُ أَيْنَ شُرَكَآءِيَ اَ۬لذِينَ كُنتُمْ تُشَٰٓقُّونِ فِيهِمْۖ قَالَ اَ۬لذِينَ أُوتُواْ اُ۬لْعِلْمَ إِنَّ اَ۬لْخِزْيَ اَ۬لْيَوْمَ وَالسُّوٓءَ عَلَى اَ۬لْكٰ۪فِرِينَ ﰚ

Thumma yawma lqiyâmati yukhzîhim wayaqûlu ayna shurakâ'iya lladhîna kuntum tushâqqûni fîhim qâla lladhîna ûtû l‘ilma inna lkhizya lyawma wassû'a ‘alâ lkêfirîn

Puis, le Jour de la Résurrection, Il les couvrira d'ignominie, et [leur] dira: «Où sont Mes associés pour lesquels vous combattiez?» - Ceux qui ont le savoir diront: «L'ignominie et le malheur tombent aujourd'hui sur les mécréants»

Then on the Day of Resurrection He will disgrace them and say, "Where are My 'partners' for whom you used to oppose [the believers]?" Those who were given knowledge will say, "Indeed disgrace, this Day, and evil are upon the disbelievers

اَ۬لذِينَ تَتَوَفّ۪يٰهُمُ اُ۬لْمَلَٰٓئِكَةُ ظَالِمِےٓ أَنفُسِهِمْۖ فَأَلْقَوُاْ اُ۬لسَّلَمَ مَا كُنَّا نَعْمَلُ مِن سُوٓءِۢ بَل۪ىٰٓۖ إِنَّ اَ۬للَّهَ عَلِيمُۢ بِمَا كُنتُمْ تَعْمَلُونَۖ ﰛ

Alladhîna tatawaffêhumu lmalâ'ikatu zâlimî anfusihim fa'alqawu ssalama mâ kunnâ na‘malu min sû'im balê inna llâha ‘alîmum bimâ kuntum ta‘malûn

Ceux à qui les Anges ôtent la vie, alors qu'ils sont injustes envers eux-mêmes, se soumettront humiliés, (et diront): «Nous ne faisions pas de mal!» - «Mais, en fait, Allah sait bien ce que vous faisiez»

The ones whom the angels take in death [while] wronging themselves, and [who] then offer submission, [saying], "We were not doing any evil." But, yes! Indeed, Allah is Knowing of what you used to do

فَادْخُلُوٓاْ أَبْوَٰبَ جَهَنَّمَ خَٰلِدِينَ فِيهَاۖ فَلَبِيسَ مَثْوَى اَ۬لْمُتَكَبِّرِينَۖ ﰜ

Fadkhulû abwâba jahannama khâlidîna fîhâ falabîsa mathwâ lmutakabbirîn

Entrez donc par les portes de l'Enfer pour y demeurer éternellement. Combien est mauvaise la demeure des orgueilleux

So enter the gates of Hell to abide eternally therein, and how wretched is the residence of the arrogant

۞ وَقِيلَ لِلذِينَ اَ۪تَّقَوْاْ مَاذَآ أَنزَلَ رَبُّكُمْ قَالُواْ خَيْراٗۖ لِّلذِينَ أَحْسَنُواْ فِے هَٰذِهِ اِ۬لدُّنْي۪ا حَسَنَةٞۖ وَلَدَارُ اُ۬لَاخِرَةِ خَيْرٞۖ وَلَنِعْمَ دَارُ اُ۬لْمُتَّقِينَۖ ﰝ

Waqîla lilladhîna ttaqaw mâdhâ anzala rabbukum qâlû khayral lilladhîna ahsanû fî hâdhihi ddunyê hasanatun waladâru lakhirati khayrun walani‘ma dâru lmuttaqîn

Et on dira à ceux qui étaient pieux: «Qu'a fait descendre votre Seigneur?» Ils diront: «Un bien». Ceux qui font les bonnes œuvres auront un bien ici-bas; mais la demeure de l'au-delà est certes meilleure. Combien agréable sera la demeure des pieux

And it will be said to those who feared Allah, "What did your Lord send down?" They will say, "[That which is] good." For those who do good in this world is good; and the home of the Hereafter is better. And how excellent is the home of the righteous

جَنَّٰتُ عَدْنٖ يَدْخُلُونَهَا تَجْرِے مِن تَحْتِهَا اَ۬لَانْهَٰرُ لَهُمْ فِيهَا مَا يَشَآءُونَۖ كَذَٰلِكَ يَجْزِے اِ۬للَّهُ اُ۬لْمُتَّقِينَ ﰞ

Jannâtu ‘adnin yadkhulûnahâ tajrî min tahtihâ lanhâru lahum fîhâ mâ yashâ'ûna kadhâlika yajzî llâhu lmuttaqîn

Les jardins du séjour (éternel), où ils entreront et sous lesquels coulent les ruisseaux. Ils auront là ce qu'ils voudront; c'est ainsi qu'Allah récompense les pieux

Gardens of perpetual residence, which they will enter, beneath which rivers flow. They will have therein whatever they wish. Thus does Allah reward the righteous

اَ۬لذِينَ تَتَوَفّ۪يٰهُمُ اُ۬لْمَلَٰٓئِكَةُ طَيِّبِينَۖ يَقُولُونَ سَلَٰمٌ عَلَيْكُمُ اُ۟دْخُلُواْ اُ۬لْجَنَّةَ بِمَا كُنتُمْ تَعْمَلُونَۖ ﰟ

Alladhîna tatawaffêhumu lmalâ'ikatu tayyibîna yaqûlûna salâmun ‘alaykumu dkhulû ljannata bimâ kuntum ta‘malûn

Ceux dont les Anges reprennent l'âme - alors qu'ils sont bons - [les Anges leur] disent: «Paix sur vous! Entrez au Paradis, pour ce que vous faisiez»

The ones whom the angels take in death, [being] good and pure; [the angels] will say, "Peace be upon you. Enter Paradise for what you used to do

هَلْ يَنظُرُونَ إِلَّآ أَن تَاتِيَهُمُ اُ۬لْمَلَٰٓئِكَةُ أَوْ يَاتِيَ أَمْرُ رَبِّكَۖ كَذَٰلِكَ فَعَلَ اَ۬لذِينَ مِن قَبْلِهِمْۖ وَمَا ظَلَمَهُمُ اُ۬للَّهُۖ وَلَٰكِن كَانُوٓاْ أَنفُسَهُمْ يَظْلِمُونَۖ ﰠ

Hal yanzurûna illâ an tâtiyahumu lmalâ'ikatu aw yâtiya amru rabbika kadhâlika fa‘ala lladhîna min qablihim wamâ zalamahumu llâhu walâkin kânû anfusahum yazlimûn

[Les infidèles] attendent-ils que les Anges leur viennent, ou que survienne l'ordre de ton Seigneur? Ainsi agissaient les gens avant eux. Allah ne les a pas lésés; mais ils faisaient du tort à eux-mêmes

Do the disbelievers await [anything] except that the angels should come to them or there comes the command of your Lord? Thus did those do before them. And Allah wronged them not, but they had been wronging themselves

فَأَصَابَهُمْ سَيِّـَٔاتُ مَا عَمِلُواْۖ وَحَاقَ بِهِم مَّا كَانُواْ بِهِۦ يَسْتَهْزِءُونَۖ ﰡ

Fa'asâbahum sayyi'âtu mâ ‘amilû wahâqa bihim mâ kânû bihî yastahzi'ûn

Les méfaits qu'ils accomplissaient les atteindront, et ce dont ils se moquaient les cernera de toutes parts

So they were struck by the evil consequences of what they did and were enveloped by what they used to ridicule

وَقَالَ اَ۬لذِينَ أَشْرَكُواْ لَوْ شَآءَ اَ۬للَّهُ مَا عَبَدْنَا مِن دُونِهِۦ مِن شَےْءٖ نَّحْنُ وَلَآ ءَابَآؤُنَا وَلَا حَرَّمْنَا مِن دُونِهِۦ مِن شَےْءٖۖ كَذَٰلِكَ فَعَلَ اَ۬لذِينَ مِن قَبْلِهِمْۖ فَهَلْ عَلَى اَ۬لرُّسُلِ إِلَّا اَ۬لْبَلَٰغُ اُ۬لْمُبِينُۖ ﰢ

Waqâla lladhîna ashrakû law shâ'a llâhu mâ ‘abadnâ min dûnihî min shay'in nahnu walâ âbâ'unâ walâ harramnâ min dûnihî min shay'in kadhâlika fa‘ala lladhîna min qablihim fahal ‘alâ rrusuli illâ lbalâghu lmubîn

Et les associateurs dirent: «Si Allah avait voulu, nous n'aurions pas adoré quoi que ce soit en dehors de Lui, ni nous ni nos ancêtres; et nous n'aurions rien interdit qu'Il n'ait interdit Lui-même». Ainsi agissaient les gens avant eux. N'incombe-t-il aux messagers sinon de transmettre le message en toute clarté

And those who associate others with Allah say, "If Allah had willed, we would not have worshipped anything other than Him, neither we nor our fathers, nor would we have forbidden anything through other than Him." Thus did those do before them. So is there upon the messengers except [the duty of] clear notification

وَلَقَدْ بَعَثْنَا فِے كُلِّ أُمَّةٖ رَّسُولاً اَنُ اُ۟عْبُدُواْ اُ۬للَّهَ وَاجْتَنِبُواْ اُ۬لطَّٰغُوتَۖ فَمِنْهُم مَّنْ هَدَى اَ۬للَّهُۖ وَمِنْهُم مَّنْ حَقَّتْ عَلَيْهِ اِ۬لضَّلَٰلَةُۖ فَسِيرُواْ فِے اِ۬لَارْضِ فَانظُرُواْ كَيْفَ كَانَ عَٰقِبَةُ اُ۬لْمُكَذِّبِينَۖ ﰣ

Walaqad ba‘athnâ fî kulli ummatir rasûlana nu ‘budû llâha wajtanibû ttâghûta faminhum man hadâ llâhu waminhum man haqqat ‘alayhi ddalâlatu fasîrû fî lardi fânzurû kayfa kâna ‘âqibatu lmukadhdhibîn

Nous avons envoyé dans chaque communauté un Messager, [pour leur dire]: «Adorez Allah et écartez-vous du Tâgût». Alors Allah en guida certains, mais il y en eut qui ont été destinés à l'égarement. Parcourez donc la terre, et regardez quelle fut la fin de ceux qui traitaient [Nos messagers] de menteurs

And We certainly sent into every nation a messenger, [saying], "Worship Allah and avoid Taghut." And among them were those whom Allah guided, and among them were those upon whom error was [deservedly] decreed. So proceed through the earth and observe how was the end of the deniers

إِن تَحْرِصْ عَلَىٰ هُد۪يٰهُمْ فَإِنَّ اَ۬للَّهَ لَا يُهْد۪ىٰ مَنْ يُّضِلُّۖ وَمَا لَهُم مِّن نَّٰصِرِينَۖ ﰤ

In tahris ‘alâ hudêhum fa'inna llâha lâ yuhdê may yudillu wamâ lahum min nasirîn

Même si tu désirais ardemment qu'ils soient guidés... [Sache] qu'Allah ne guide pas ceux qui s'égarent. Et ils n'auront pas de secoureurs

[Even] if you should strive for their guidance, [O Muhammad], indeed, Allah does not guide those He sends astray, and they will have no helpers

۞ وَأَقْسَمُواْ بِاللَّهِ جَهْدَ أَيْمَٰنِهِمْ لَا يَبْعَثُ اُ۬للَّهُ مَنْ يَّمُوتُۖ بَل۪ىٰ وَعْداً عَلَيْهِ حَقّاٗ وَلَٰكِنَّ أَكْثَرَ اَ۬لنَّاسِ لَا يَعْلَمُونَ ﰥ

Wa'aqsamû billâhi jahda aymânihim lâ yab‘athu llâhu may yamûtu balê wa‘dan ‘alayhi haqqan walâkinna akthara nnâsi lâ ya‘lamûn

Et ils jurent par Allah en prononçant leurs serments les plus solennels: «Allah ne ressuscitera pas celui qui meurt». Bien au contraire! C'est une promesse véritable [de Sa part], mais la plupart des gens ne le savent pas

And they swear by Allah their strongest oaths [that] Allah will not resurrect one who dies. But yes - [it is] a true promise [binding] upon Him, but most of the people do not know

لِيُبَيِّنَ لَهُمُ اُ۬لذِے يَخْتَلِفُونَ فِيهِ وَلِيَعْلَمَ اَ۬لذِينَ كَفَرُوٓاْ أَنَّهُمْ كَانُواْ كَٰذِبِينَۖ ﰦ

Liyubayyina lahumu lladhî yakhtalifûna fîhi waliya‘lama lladhîna kafarû annahum kânû kâdhibîn

(Il les ressuscitera) afin qu'Il leur expose clairement ce en quoi ils divergeaient, et pour que ceux qui ont mécru sachent qu'ils ont été des menteurs

[It is] so He will make clear to them [the truth of] that wherein they differ and so those who have disbelieved may know that they were liars

إِنَّمَا قَوْلُنَا لِشَےْءٍ اِذَآ أَرَدْنَٰهُ أَن نَّقُولَ لَهُۥ كُنۖ فَيَكُونُۖ ﰧ

Innamâ qawlunâ lishay'ini dhâ aradnâhu an naqûla lahû kun fayakûn

Quand Nous voulons une chose, Notre seule parole est: «Sois». Et, elle est

Indeed, Our word to a thing when We intend it is but that We say to it, "Be," and it is

وَالذِينَ هَاجَرُواْ فِے اِ۬للَّهِ مِنۢ بَعْدِ مَا ظُلِمُواْ لَنُبَوِّئَنَّهُمْ فِے اِ۬لدُّنْي۪ا حَسَنَةٗۖ وَلَأَجْرُ اُ۬لَاخِرَةِ أَكْبَرُ لَوْ كَانُواْ يَعْلَمُونَۖ ﰨ

Walladhîna hâjarû fî llâhi mim ba‘di mâ zulimû lanubawwî'annahum fî ddunyê hasanatan wala'ajru lakhirati akbaru law kânû ya‘lamûn

Et ceux qui, pour (la cause d') Allah, ont émigré après avoir subi des injustices, Nous les installerons dans une situation agréable dans la vie d'ici-bas. Et le salaire de la vie dernière sera plus grand encore s'ils savaient

And those who emigrated for [the cause of] Allah after they had been wronged - We will surely settle them in this world in a good place; but the reward of the Hereafter is greater, if only they could know

اَ۬لذِينَ صَبَرُواْ وَعَلَىٰ رَبِّهِمْ يَتَوَكَّلُونَۖ ﰩ

Alladhîna sabarû wa‘alâ rabbihim yatawakkalûn

Eux qui ont enduré et placé leur confiance en leur Seigneur

[They are] those who endured patiently and upon their Lord relied

وَمَآ أَرْسَلْنَا مِن قَبْلِكَ إِلَّا رِجَالاٗ يُوح۪ىٰٓ إِلَيْهِمْ فَسْـَٔلُوٓاْ أَهْلَ اَ۬لذِّكْرِ إِن كُنتُمْ لَا تَعْلَمُونَ ﰪ

Wamâ arsalnâ min qablika illâ rijâlan yûhê ilayhim fas'alû ahla dhdhikri in kuntum lâ ta‘lamûn

Nous n'avons envoyé, avant toi, que des hommes auxquels Nous avons fait des révélations. Demandez donc aux gens du rappel si vous ne savez pas

And We sent not before you except men to whom We revealed [Our message]. So ask the people of the message if you do not know

بِالْبَيِّنَٰتِ وَالزُّبُرِۖ وَأَنزَلْنَآ إِلَيْكَ اَ۬لذِّكْرَ لِتُبَيِّنَ لِلنَّاسِ مَا نُزِّلَ إِلَيْهِمْ وَلَعَلَّهُمْ يَتَفَكَّرُونَۖ ﰫ

Bilbayyinâti wazzuburi wa'anzalnâ ilayka dhdhikra litubayyina linnâsi mâ nuzzila ilayhim wala‘allahum yatafakkarûn

(Nous les avons envoyés) avec des preuves évidentes et des livres saints. Et vers toi, Nous avons fait descendre le Coran, pour que tu exposes clairement aux gens ce qu'on a fait descendre pour eux et afin qu'ils réfléchissent

[We sent them] with clear proofs and written ordinances. And We revealed to you the message that you may make clear to the people what was sent down to them and that they might give thought

أَفَأَمِنَ اَ۬لذِينَ مَكَرُواْ اُ۬لسَّيِّـَٔاتِ أَنْ يَّخْسِفَ اَ۬للَّهُ بِهِمُ اُ۬لَارْضَ أَوْ يَاتِيَهُمُ اُ۬لْعَذَابُ مِنْ حَيْثُ لَا يَشْعُرُونَ ﰬ

Afa'amina lladhîna makarû ssayyi'âti ay yakhsifa llâhu bihimu larda aw yâtiyahumu l‘adhâbu min haythu lâ yash‘urûn

Ceux qui complotaient des méfaits sont-ils à l'abri de ce qu'Allah les engloutisse en terre ou que leur vienne le châtiment d'où ils ne s'attendaient point

Then, do those who have planned evil deeds feel secure that Allah will not cause the earth to swallow them or that the punishment will not come upon them from where they do not perceive

أَوْ يَاخُذَهُمْ فِے تَقَلُّبِهِمْ فَمَا هُم بِمُعْجِزِينَ ﰭ

Aw yâkhudhahum fî taqallubihim famâ hum bimu‘jizîn

Ou bien qu'Il les saisisse en pleine activité sans qu'ils puissent échapper (au châtiment d'Allah)

Or that He would not seize them during their [usual] activity, and they could not cause failure

أَوْ يَاخُذَهُمْ عَلَىٰ تَخَوُّفٖۖ فَإِنَّ رَبَّكُمْ لَرَءُوفٞ رَّحِيمٌۖ ﰮ

Aw yâkhudhahum ‘alâ takhawwufin fa'inna rabbakum lara'ûfur rahîm

Ou bien qu'Il les saisisse en plein effroi? Mais vraiment, votre Seigneur est Compatissant et Miséricordieux

Or that He would not seize them gradually [in a state of dread]? But indeed, your Lord is Kind and Merciful

اَوَلَمْ يَرَوِاْ اِلَىٰ مَا خَلَقَ اَ۬للَّهُ مِن شَےْءٖ يَتَفَيَّؤُاْ ظِلَٰلُهُۥ عَنِ اِ۬لْيَمِينِ وَالشَّمَآئِلِ سُجَّداٗ لِّلهِ وَهُمْ دَٰخِرُونَۖ ﰯ

Awalam yarawi lâ mâ khalaqa llâhu min shay'in yatafayya'u zilâluhû ‘ani lyamîni washshamâ'ili sujjadan lillâhi wahum dâkhirûn

N'ont-ils point vu que les ombres de toute chose qu'Allah a créée s'allongent à droite et à gauche, en se prosternant devant Allah, en toute humilité

Have they not considered what things Allah has created? Their shadows incline to the right and to the left, prostrating to Allah, while they are humble

وَلِلهِ يَسْجُدُ مَا فِے اِ۬لسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَمَا فِے اِ۬لَارْضِ مِن دَآبَّةٖ وَالْمَلَٰٓئِكَةُ وَهُمْ لَا يَسْتَكْبِرُونَ ﰰ

Walillâhi yasjudu mâ fî ssamâwâti wamâ fî lardi min dâbbatin walmalâ'ikatu wahum lâ yastakbirûn

Et c'est devant Allah que se prosterne tout être vivant dans les cieux, et sur la terre; ainsi que les Anges qui ne s'enflent pas d'orgueil

And to Allah prostrates whatever is in the heavens and whatever is on the earth of creatures, and the angels [as well], and they are not arrogant

يَخَافُونَ رَبَّهُم مِّن فَوْقِهِمْ وَيَفْعَلُونَ مَا يُومَرُونَۖ۩ ﰱ

Yakhâfûna rabbahum min fawqihim wayaf‘alûna mâ yûmarûn

Ils craignent leur Seigneur, au-dessus d'eux, et font ce qui leur est commandé

They fear their Lord above them, and they do what they are commanded

۞ وَقَالَ اَ۬للَّهُ لَا تَتَّخِذُوٓاْ إِلَٰهَيْنِ اِ۪ثْنَيْنِۖ إِنَّمَا هُوَ إِلَٰهٞ وَٰحِدٞۖ فَإِيَّٰيَ فَارْهَبُونِۖ ﰲ

Waqâla llâhu lâ tattakhidhû ilâhayni thnayni innamâ huwa ilâhun wâhidun fa'iyyâya farhabûn

Allah dit: «Ne prenez pas deux divinités. Il n'est qu'un Dieu unique. Donc, ne craignez que Moi»

And Allah has said, "Do not take for yourselves two deities. He is but one God, so fear only Me

وَلَهُۥ مَا فِے اِ۬لسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَالَارْضِۖ وَلَهُ اُ۬لدِّينُ وَاصِباًۖ اَفَغَيْرَ اَ۬للَّهِ تَتَّقُونَۖ ﰳ

Walahû mâ fî ssamâwâti walardi walahu ddînu wâsibana faghayra llâhi tattaqûn

C'est à Lui qu'appartient ce qui est dans les cieux et sur la terre; c'est à Lui que l'obéissance perpétuelle est due. Craindriez-vous donc, d'autres qu'Allah

And to Him belongs whatever is in the heavens and the earth, and to Him is [due] worship constantly. Then is it other than Allah that you fear

وَمَا بِكُم مِّن نِّعْمَةٖ فَمِنَ اَ۬للَّهِۖ ثُمَّ إِذَا مَسَّكُمُ اُ۬لضُّرُّ فَإِلَيْهِ تَجْـَٔرُونَۖ ﰴ

Wamâ bikum min ni‘matin famina llâhi thumma idhâ massakumu ddurru fa'ilayhi taj'arûn

Et tout ce que vous avez comme bienfait provient d'Allah. Puis quand le malheur vous touche, c'est Lui que vous implorez à haute voix

And whatever you have of favor - it is from Allah. Then when adversity touches you, to Him you cry for help

ثُمَّ إِذَا كَشَفَ اَ۬لضُّرَّ عَنكُمُۥٓ إِذَا فَرِيقٞ مِّنكُم بِرَبِّهِمْ يُشْرِكُونَ ﰵ

Thumma idhâ kashafa ddurra ‘ankumû idhâ farîqum minkum birabbihim yushrikûn

Et une fois qu'Il a dissipé votre malheur, voilà qu'une partie d'entre vous se mettent à donner des associés à leur Seigneur

Then when He removes the adversity from you, at once a party of you associates others with their Lord

لِيَكْفُرُواْ بِمَآ ءَاتَيْنَٰهُمْۖ فَتَمَتَّعُواْۖ فَسَوْفَ تَعْلَمُونَۖ ﰶ

Liyakfurû bimâ âtaynâhum fatamatta‘û fasawfa ta‘lamûn

méconnaissant ainsi ce que Nous leur avons donné. Jouissez donc [pour un temps!] Bientôt vous saurez

So they will deny what We have given them. Then enjoy yourselves, for you are going to know

وَيَجْعَلُونَ لِمَا لَا يَعْلَمُونَ نَصِيباٗ مِّمَّا رَزَقْنَٰهُمْۖ تَاللَّهِ لَتُسْـَٔلُنَّ عَمَّا كُنتُمْ تَفْتَرُونَۖ ﰷ

Wayaj‘alûna limâ lâ ya‘lamûna nasîbam mimmâ razaqnâhum tallâhi latus'alunna ‘ammâ kuntum taftarûn

Et ils assignent une partie [des biens] que Nous leur avons attribués à [des idoles] qu'ils ne connaissent pas. Par Allah! Vous serez certes interrogés sur ce que vous inventiez

And they assign to what they do not know a portion of that which We have provided them. By Allah, you will surely be questioned about what you used to invent

وَيَجْعَلُونَ لِلهِ اِ۬لْبَنَٰتِ سُبْحَٰنَهُۥۖ وَلَهُم مَّا يَشْتَهُونَۖ ﰸ

Wayaj‘alûna lillâhi lbanâti subhânahû walahum mâ yashtahûn

Et ils assignent à Allah des filles. Gloire et pureté à Lui! Et à eux-mêmes, cependant, (ils assignent) ce qu'ils désirent (des fils)

And they attribute to Allah daughters - exalted is He - and for them is what they desire

وَإِذَا بُشِّرَ أَحَدُهُم بِالُانث۪ىٰ ظَلَّ وَجْهُهُۥ مُسْوَدّاٗ وَهُوَ كَظِيمٞ ﰹ

Wa'idhâ bushshira ahaduhum bilunthê zalla wajhuhû muswaddan wahuwa kazîm

Et lorsqu'on annonce à l'un d'eux une fille, son visage s'assombrit et une rage profonde [l'envahit]

And when one of them is informed of [the birth of] a female, his face becomes dark, and he suppresses grief

يَتَوَٰر۪ىٰ مِنَ اَ۬لْقَوْمِ مِن سُوٓءِ مَا بُشِّرَ بِهِۦٓۖ أَيُمْسِكُهُۥ عَلَىٰ هُونٍ اَمْ يَدُسُّهُۥ فِے اِ۬لتُّرَابِۖ أَلَا سَآءَ مَا يَحْكُمُونَۖ ﰺ

Yatawârê mina lqawmi min sû'i mâ bushshira bihî ayumsikuhû ‘alâ hûnina m yadussuhû fî tturâbi alâ sâ'a mâ yahkumûn

Il se cache des gens, à cause du malheur qu'on lui a annoncé. Doit-il la garder malgré la honte ou l'enfouira-t-il dans la terre? Combien est mauvais leur jugement

He hides himself from the people because of the ill of which he has been informed. Should he keep it in humiliation or bury it in the ground? Unquestionably, evil is what they decide

لِلذِينَ لَا يُومِنُونَ بِالَاخِرَةِ مَثَلُ اُ۬لسَّوْءِۖ وَلِلهِ اِ۬لْمَثَلُ اُ۬لَاعْل۪ىٰۖ وَهُوَ اَ۬لْعَزِيزُ اُ۬لْحَكِيمُۖ ﰻ

Lilladhîna lâ yûminûna bilakhirati mathalu ssaw'i walillâhi lmathalu la‘lê wahuwa l‘azîzu lhakîm

C'est à ceux qui ne croient pas en l'au-delà que revient le mauvais qualificatif (qu'ils ont attribué à Allah). Tandis qu'à Allah [Seul] est le qualificatif suprême. Et c'est Lui le Tout Puissant, le Sage

For those who do not believe in the Hereafter is the description of evil; and for Allah is the highest attribute. And He is Exalted in Might, the Wise

وَلَوْ يُوَ۬اخِذُ اُ۬للَّهُ اُ۬لنَّاسَ بِظُلْمِهِم مَّا تَرَكَ عَلَيْهَا مِن دَآبَّةٖۖ وَلَٰكِنْ يُّوَ۬خِّرُهُمُۥٓ إِلَىٰٓ أَجَلٖ مُّسَمّىٗۖ فَإِذَا جَآءَ اجَلُهُمْ لَا يَسْتَٰخِرُونَ سَاعَةٗۖ وَلَا يَسْتَقْدِمُونَۖ ﰼ

Walaw yuwâkhidhu llâhu nnâsa bizulmihim mâ taraka ‘alayhâ min dâbbatin walâkiy yuwakhkhiruhumû ilâ ajalim musamman fa'idhâ jâ'a âjaluhum lâ yastâkhirûna sâ‘atan walâ yastaqdimûn

Si Allah s'en prenait aux gens pour leurs méfaits, Il ne laisserait sur cette terre aucun être vivant. Mais Il les renvoie jusqu'à un terme fixé. Puis, quand leur terme vient, ils ne peuvent ni le retarder d'une heure ni l'avancer

And if Allah were to impose blame on the people for their wrongdoing, He would not have left upon the earth any creature, but He defers them for a specified term. And when their term has come, they will not remain behind an hour, nor will they precede [it]

وَيَجْعَلُونَ لِلهِ مَا يَكْرَهُونَۖ وَتَصِفُ أَلْسِنَتُهُمُ اُ۬لْكَذِبَ أَنَّ لَهُمُ اُ۬لْحُسْن۪ىٰۖ لَا جَرَمَ أَنَّ لَهُمُ اُ۬لنَّارَ وَأَنَّهُم مُّفْرِطُونَۖ ﰽ

Wayaj‘alûna lillâhi mâ yakrahûna watasifu alsinatuhumu lkadhiba anna lahumu lhusnê lâ jarama anna lahumu nnâra wa'annahum mufritûn

Et ils assignent à Allah ce qu'ils détestent [pour eux-mêmes]. Et leurs langues profèrent un mensonge quand ils disent que la plus belle récompense leur sera réservée. C'est le Feu, sans nul doute, qui leur sera réservé et ils y seront envoyés, les premiers

And they attribute to Allah that which they dislike, and their tongues assert the lie that they will have the best [from Him]. Assuredly, they will have the Fire, and they will be [therein] neglected

۞ تَاللَّهِ لَقَدَ اَرْسَلْنَآ إِلَىٰٓ أُمَمٖ مِّن قَبْلِكَ فَزَيَّنَ لَهُمُ اُ۬لشَّيْطَٰنُ أَعْمَٰلَهُمْ فَهُوَ وَلِيُّهُمُ اُ۬لْيَوْمَۖ وَلَهُمْ عَذَابٌ اَلِيمٞۖ ﰾ

Tallâhi laqada rsalnâ ilâ umamim min qablika fazayyana lahumu shshaytânu a‘mâlahum fahuwa waliyyuhumu lyawma walahum ‘adhâbuna lîm

Par Allah! Nous avons effectivement envoyé (des messagers) à des communautés avant toi. Mais le Diable leur enjoliva ce qu'ils faisaient. C'est lui qui est, leur allié, aujourd'hui [dans ce monde]. Et ils auront un châtiment douloureux [dans l'au-delà]

By Allah, We did certainly send [messengers] to nations before you, but Satan made their deeds attractive to them. And he is the disbelievers' ally today [as well], and they will have a painful punishment

وَمَآ أَنزَلْنَا عَلَيْكَ اَ۬لْكِتَٰبَ إِلَّا لِتُبَيِّنَ لَهُمُ اُ۬لذِے اِ۪خْتَلَفُواْ فِيهِ وَهُدىٗ وَرَحْمَةٗ لِّقَوْمٖ يُومِنُونَۖ ﰿ

Wamâ anzalnâ ‘alayka lkitâba illâ litubayyina lahumu lladhî khtalafû fîhi wahudan warahmatal liqawmin yûminûn

Et Nous n'avons fait descendre sur toi le Livre qu'afin que tu leur montres clairement le motif de leur dissension, de même qu'un guide et une miséricorde pour des gens croyants

And We have not revealed to you the Book, [O Muhammad], except for you to make clear to them that wherein they have differed and as guidance and mercy for a people who believe

وَاللَّهُ أَنزَلَ مِنَ اَ۬لسَّمَآءِ مَآءٗ فَأَحْي۪ا بِهِ اِ۬لَارْضَ بَعْدَ مَوْتِهَآۖ إِنَّ فِے ذَٰلِكَ لَأٓيَةٗ لِّقَوْمٖ يَسْمَعُونَۖ ﱀ

Wallâhu anzala mina ssamâ'i mâ'an fa'ahyê bihi larda ba‘da mawtihâ inna fî dhâlika la'yatal liqawmin yasma‘ûn

Allah a fait descendre du ciel une eau avec laquelle Il revivifie la terre après sa mort. Il y a vraiment là une preuve pour des gens qui entendent

And Allah has sent down rain from the sky and given life thereby to the earth after its lifelessness. Indeed in that is a sign for a people who listen

وَإِنَّ لَكُمْ فِے اِ۬لَانْعَٰمِ لَعِبْرَةٗۖ نَّسْقِيكُم مِّمَّا فِے بُطُونِهِۦ مِنۢ بَيْنِ فَرْثٖ وَدَمٖ لَّبَناً خَالِصاٗ سَآئِغاٗ لِّلشَّٰرِبِينَ ﱁ

Wa'inna lakum fî lan‘âmi la‘ibratan nasqîkum mimmâ fî butûnihî mim bayni farthin wadamil labanan khâlisan sâ'ighal lishshâribîn

Il y a certes un enseignement pour vous dans les bestiaux: Nous vous abreuvons de ce qui est dans leurs ventres, - [un produit] extrait du [mélange] des excréments [intestinaux] et du sang - un lait pur, délicieux pour les buveurs

And indeed, for you in grazing livestock is a lesson. We give you drink from what is in their bellies - between excretion and blood - pure milk, palatable to drinkers

وَمِن ثَمَرَٰتِ اِ۬لنَّخِيلِ وَالَاعْنَٰبِ تَتَّخِذُونَ مِنْهُ سَكَراٗ وَرِزْقاً حَسَناًۖ اِنَّ فِے ذَٰلِكَ لَأٓيَةٗ لِّقَوْمٖ يَعْقِلُونَۖ ﱂ

Wamin thamarâti nnakhîli wala‘nâbi tattakhidhûna minhu sakaran warizqan hasanani nna fî dhâlika la'yatal liqawmin ya‘qilûn

Des fruits des palmiers et des vignes, vous retirez une boisson enivrante et un aliment excellent. Il y a vraiment là un signe pour des gens qui raisonnent

And from the fruits of the palm trees and grapevines you take intoxicant and good provision. Indeed in that is a sign for a people who reason

وَأَوْح۪ىٰ رَبُّكَ إِلَى اَ۬لنَّحْلِ أَنِ اِ۪تَّخِذِے مِنَ اَ۬لْجِبَالِ بُيُوتاٗ وَمِنَ اَ۬لشَّجَرِ وَمِمَّا يَعْرِشُونَ ﱃ

Wa'awhê rabbuka ilâ nnahli ani ttakhidhî mina ljibâli buyûtan wamina shshajari wamimmâ ya‘rishûn

[Et voilà] ce que ton Seigneur révéla aux abeilles: «Prenez des demeures dans les montagnes, les arbres, et les treillages que [les hommes] font

And your Lord inspired to the bee, "Take for yourself among the mountains, houses, and among the trees and [in] that which they construct

ثُمَّ كُلِے مِن كُلِّ اِ۬لثَّمَرَٰتِ فَاسْلُكِے سُبُلَ رَبِّكِ ذُلُلاٗۖ يَخْرُجُ مِنۢ بُطُونِهَا شَرَابٞ مُّخْتَلِفٌ اَلْوَٰنُهُۥ فِيهِ شِفَآءٞ لِّلنَّاسِۖ إِنَّ فِے ذَٰلِكَ لَأٓيَةٗ لِّقَوْمٖ يَتَفَكَّرُونَۖ ﱄ

Thumma kulî min kulli ththamarâti faslukî subula rabbiki dhululan yakhruju mim butûnihâ sharâbum mukhtalifuna lwânuhû fîhi shifâ'ul linnâsi inna fî dhâlika la'yatal liqawmin yatafakkarûn

Puis mangez de toute espèce de fruits, et suivez les sentiers de votre Seigneur, rendus faciles pour vous. De leur ventre, sort une liqueur, aux couleurs variées, dans laquelle il y a une guérison pour les gens. Il y a vraiment là une preuve pour des gens qui réfléchissent

Then eat from all the fruits and follow the ways of your Lord laid down [for you]." There emerges from their bellies a drink, varying in colors, in which there is healing for people. Indeed in that is a sign for a people who give thought

وَاللَّهُ خَلَقَكُمْ ثُمَّ يَتَوَفّ۪يٰكُمْۖ وَمِنكُم مَّنْ يُّرَدُّ إِلَىٰٓ أَرْذَلِ اِ۬لْعُمُرِ لِكَےْ لَا يَعْلَمَ بَعْدَ عِلْمٖ شَئْاًۖ اِنَّ اَ۬للَّهَ عَلِيمٞ قَدِيرٞۖ ﱅ

Wallâhu khalaqakum thumma yatawaffêkum waminkum may yuraddu ilâ ardhali l‘umuri likay lâ ya‘lama ba‘da ‘ilmin shay'ani nna llâha ‘alîmun qadîr

Allah vous a créés! Puis Il vous fera mourir. Tel parmi vous sera reconduit jusqu'à l'âge le plus vil, de sorte qu'après avoir su, il arrive à ne plus rien savoir. Allah est, certes, Omniscient et Omnipotent

And Allah created you; then He will take you in death. And among you is he who is reversed to the most decrepit [old] age so that he will not know, after [having had] knowledge, a thing. Indeed, Allah is Knowing and Competent

۞ وَاللَّهُ فَضَّلَ بَعْضَكُمْ عَلَىٰ بَعْضٖ فِے اِ۬لرِّزْقِۖ فَمَا اَ۬لذِينَ فُضِّلُواْ بِرَآدِّے رِزْقِهِمْ عَلَىٰ مَا مَلَكَتَ اَيْمَٰنُهُمْ فَهُمْ فِيهِ سَوَآءٌۖ اَفَبِنِعْمَةِ اِ۬للَّهِ يَجْحَدُونَۖ ﱆ

Wallâhu faddala ba‘dakum ‘alâ ba‘din fî rrizqi famâ lladhîna fuddilû birâddî rizqihim ‘alâ mâ malakata ymânuhum fahum fîhi sawâ'una fabini‘mati llâhi yajhadûn

Allah a favorisé les uns d'entre vous par rapport aux autres dans [la répartition] de Ses dons. Ceux qui ont été favorisés ne sont nullement disposés à donner leur portion à ceux qu'ils possèdent de plein droit [esclaves] au point qu'ils y deviennent associés à part égale. Nieront-ils les bienfaits d'Allah

And Allah has favored some of you over others in provision. But those who were favored would not hand over their provision to those whom their right hands possess so they would be equal to them therein. Then is it the favor of Allah they reject

وَاللَّهُ جَعَلَ لَكُم مِّنَ اَنفُسِكُمُۥٓ أَزْوَٰجاٗ وَجَعَلَ لَكُم مِّنَ اَزْوَٰجِكُم بَنِينَ وَحَفَدَةٗۖ وَرَزَقَكُم مِّنَ اَ۬لطَّيِّبَٰتِۖ أَفَبِالْبَٰطِلِ يُومِنُونَ وَبِنِعْمَتِ اِ۬للَّهِ هُمْ يَكْفُرُونَۖ ﱇ

Wallâhu ja‘ala lakum mina nfusikumû azwâjan waja‘ala lakum mina zwâjikum banîna wahafadatan warazaqakum mina ttayyibâti afabiâlbâtili yûminûna wabini‘mati llâhi hum yakfurûn

Allah vous a fait à partir de vous-mêmes des épouses, et de vos épouses Il vous a donné des enfants et des petits-enfants. Et Il vous a attribué de bonnes choses. Croient-ils donc au faux et nient-ils le bienfait d'Allah

And Allah has made for you from yourselves mates and has made for you from your mates sons and grandchildren and has provided for you from the good things. Then in falsehood do they believe and in the favor of Allah they disbelieve

وَيَعْبُدُونَ مِن دُونِ اِ۬للَّهِ مَا لَا يَمْلِكُ لَهُمْ رِزْقاٗ مِّنَ اَ۬لسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَالَارْضِ شَئْاٗ وَلَا يَسْتَطِيعُونَۖ ﱈ

Waya‘budûna min dûni llâhi mâ lâ yamliku lahum rizqam mina ssamâwâti walardi shay'an walâ yastatî‘ûn

Et ils adorent, en dehors d'Allah, ce qui ne peut leur procurer aucune nourriture des cieux et de la terre et qui n'est capable de rien

And they worship besides Allah that which does not possess for them [the power of] provision from the heavens and the earth at all, and [in fact], they are unable

فَلَا تَضْرِبُواْ لِلهِ اِ۬لَامْثَالَۖ إِنَّ اَ۬للَّهَ يَعْلَمُۖ وَأَنتُمْ لَا تَعْلَمُونَۖ ﱉ

Falâ tadribû lillâhi lamthâla inna llâha ya‘lamu wa'antum lâ ta‘lamûn

N'attribuez donc pas à Allah des semblables. Car Allah sait, tandis que vous ne savez pas

So do not assert similarities to Allah. Indeed, Allah knows and you do not know

ضَرَبَ اَ۬للَّهُ مَثَلاً عَبْداٗ مَّمْلُوكاٗ لَّا يَقْدِرُ عَلَىٰ شَےْءٖ وَمَن رَّزَقْنَٰهُ مِنَّا رِزْقاً حَسَناٗ فَهُوَ يُنفِقُ مِنْهُ سِرّاٗ وَجَهْراً هَلْ يَسْتَوُۥنَۖ اَ۬لْحَمْدُ لِلهِۖ بَلَ اَكْثَرُهُمْ لَا يَعْلَمُونَۖ ﱊ

Daraba llâhu mathalan ‘abdam mamlûkal lâ yaqdiru ‘alâ shay'in wamar razaqnâhu minnâ rizqan hasanan fahuwa yunfiqu minhu sirran wajahran hal yastawûna lhamdu lillâhi bala ktharuhum lâ ya‘lamûn

Allah propose en parabole un esclave appartenant [à son maître], dépourvu de tout pouvoir, et un homme à qui Nous avons accordé de Notre part une bonne attribution dont il dépense en secret et en public. [Ces deux hommes] sont-ils égaux? Louange à Allah! Mais la plupart d'entre eux ne savent pas

Allah presents an example: a slave [who is] owned and unable to do a thing and he to whom We have provided from Us good provision, so he spends from it secretly and publicly. Can they be equal? Praise to Allah! But most of them do not know

وَضَرَبَ اَ۬للَّهُ مَثَلاٗ رَّجُلَيْنِ أَحَدُهُمَآ أَبْكَمُ لَا يَقْدِرُ عَلَىٰ شَےْءٖ وَهُوَ كَلٌّ عَلَىٰ مَوْل۪يٰهُ أَيْنَمَا يُوَجِّههُّ لَا يَاتِ بِخَيْرٍ هَلْ يَسْتَوِے هُوَ وَمَنْ يَّامُرُ بِالْعَدْلِ وَهُوَ عَلَىٰ صِرَٰطٖ مُّسْتَقِيمٖۖ ﱋ

Wadaraba llâhu mathalar rajulayni ahaduhumâ abkamu lâ yaqdiru ‘alâ shay'in wahuwa kallun ‘alâ mawlêhu aynamâ yuwajjihhu lâ yâti bikhayrin hal yastawî huwa wamay yâmuru bil‘adli wahuwa ‘alâ sirâtim mustaqîm

Et Allah propose en parabole deux hommes: l'un d'eux est muet, dépourvu de tout pouvoir et totalement à la charge de son maître; Quelque lieu où celui-ci l'envoie, il ne rapporte rien de bon; serait-il l'égal de celui qui ordonne la justice et qui est sur le droit chemin

And Allah presents an example of two men, one of them dumb and unable to do a thing, while he is a burden to his guardian. Wherever he directs him, he brings no good. Is he equal to one who commands justice, while he is on a straight path

وَلِلهِ غَيْبُ اُ۬لسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَالَارْضِۖ وَمَآ أَمْرُ اُ۬لسَّاعَةِ إِلَّا كَلَمْحِ اِ۬لْبَصَرِ أَوْ هُوَ أَقْرَبُۖ إِنَّ اَ۬للَّهَ عَلَىٰ كُلِّ شَےْءٖ قَدِيرٞۖ ﱌ

Walillâhi ghaybu ssamâwâti walardi wamâ amru ssâ‘ati illâ kalamhi lbasari aw huwa aqrabu inna llâha ‘alâ kulli shay'in qadîr

C'est à Allah qu'appartient l'inconnaissable des cieux et de la terre. Et l'ordre [concernant] l'Heure ne sera que comme un clin d'œil ou plus bref encore! Car Allah est, certes, Omnipotent

And to Allah belongs the unseen [aspects] of the heavens and the earth. And the command for the Hour is not but as a glance of the eye or even nearer. Indeed, Allah is over all things competent

وَاللَّهُ أَخْرَجَكُم مِّنۢ بُطُونِ أُمَّهَٰتِكُمْ لَا تَعْلَمُونَ شَئْاٗۖ وَجَعَلَ لَكُمُ اُ۬لسَّمْعَ وَالَابْصَٰرَ وَالَافْـِٕدَةَ لَعَلَّكُمْ تَشْكُرُونَۖ ﱍ

Wallâhu akhrajakum mim butûni ummahâtikum lâ ta‘lamûna shay'an waja‘ala lakumu ssam‘a walabsâra walaf'idata la‘allakum tashkurûn

Et Allah vous a fait sortir des ventres de vos mères, dénués de tout savoir, et vous a donné l'ouïe, les yeux et les cœurs (l'intelligence), afin que vous; soyez reconnaissants

And Allah has extracted you from the wombs of your mothers not knowing a thing, and He made for you hearing and vision and intellect that perhaps you would be grateful

۞ أَلَمْ يَرَوِاْ اِلَى اَ۬لطَّيْرِ مُسَخَّرَٰتٖ فِے جَوِّ اِ۬لسَّمَآءِ مَا يُمْسِكُهُنَّ إِلَّا اَ۬للَّهُۖ إِنَّ فِے ذَٰلِكَ لَأٓيَٰتٖ لِّقَوْمٖ يُومِنُونَۖ ﱎ

Alam yarawi lâ ttayri musakhkharâtin fî jawwi ssamâ'i mâ yumsikuhunna illâ llâhu inna fî dhâlika la'yâtil liqawmin yûminûn

N'ont-ils pas vu les oiseaux assujettis [au vol] dans l'atmosphère du ciel sans que rien ne les retienne en dehors d'Allah? Il y a vraiment là des preuves pour des gens qui croient

Do they not see the birds controlled in the atmosphere of the sky? None holds them up except Allah. Indeed in that are signs for a people who believe

وَاللَّهُ جَعَلَ لَكُم مِّنۢ بُيُوتِكُمْ سَكَناٗ وَجَعَلَ لَكُم مِّن جُلُودِ اِ۬لَانْعَٰمِ بُيُوتاٗ تَسْتَخِفُّونَهَا يَوْمَ ظَعَنِكُمْ وَيَوْمَ إِقَامَتِكُمْۖ وَمِنَ اَصْوَافِهَا وَأَوْب۪ارِهَا وَأَشْع۪ارِهَآ أَثَٰثاٗ وَمَتَٰعاً اِلَىٰ حِينٖۖ ﱏ

Wallâhu ja‘ala lakum mim buyûtikum sakanan waja‘ala lakum min julûdi lan‘âmi buyûtan tastakhiffûnahâ yawma za‘anikum wayawma iqâmatikum wamina swâfihâ wa'awbêrihâ wa'ash‘êrihâ athâthan wamatâ‘ani lâ hîn

Et Allah vous a fait de vos maisons une habitation, tout comme Il vous a procuré des maisons faites de peaux de bêtes que vous trouvez légères, le jour où vous vous déplacez et le jour où vous vous campez. De leur laine, de leur poil et de leur crin (Il vous a procuré) des effets et des objets dont vous jouissez pour un certain délai

And Allah has made for you from your homes a place of rest and made for you from the hides of the animals tents which you find light on your day of travel and your day of encampment; and from their wool, fur and hair is furnishing and enjoyment for a time

وَاللَّهُ جَعَلَ لَكُم مِّمَّا خَلَقَ ظِلَٰلاٗ وَجَعَلَ لَكُم مِّنَ اَ۬لْجِبَالِ أَكْنَٰناٗ وَجَعَلَ لَكُمْ سَرَٰبِيلَ تَقِيكُمُ اُ۬لْحَرَّ وَسَرَٰبِيلَ تَقِيكُم بَأْسَكُمْۖ كَذَٰلِكَ يُتِمُّ نِعْمَتَهُۥ عَلَيْكُمْ لَعَلَّكُمْ تُسْلِمُونَۖ ﱐ

Wallâhu ja‘ala lakum mimmâ khalaqa zilâlan waja‘ala lakum mina ljibâli aknânan waja‘ala lakum sarâbîla taqîkumu lharra wasarâbîla taqîkum ba'sakum kadhâlika yutimmu ni‘matahû ‘alaykum la‘allakum tuslimûn

Et de ce qu'Il a créé, Allah vous a procuré des ombres. Et Il vous a procuré des abris dans les montagnes. Et Il vous a procuré des vêtements qui vous protègent de la chaleur, ainsi que des vêtements [cuirasses, armures] qui vous protègent de votre propre violence. C'est ainsi qu'Allah parachève sur vous Son bienfait, peut-être que vous vous soumettez

And Allah has made for you, from that which He has created, shadows and has made for you from the mountains, shelters and has made for you garments which protect you from the heat and garments which protect you from your [enemy in] battle. Thus does He complete His favor upon you that you might submit [to Him]

فَإِن تَوَلَّوْاْ فَإِنَّمَا عَلَيْكَ اَ۬لْبَلَٰغُ اُ۬لْمُبِينُۖ ﱑ

Fa'in tawallaw fa'innamâ ‘alayka lbalâghu lmubîn

S'ils se détournent... il ne t'incombe que la communication claire

But if they turn away, [O Muhammad] - then only upon you is [responsibility for] clear notification

يَعْرِفُونَ نِعْمَتَ اَ۬للَّهِ ثُمَّ يُنكِرُونَهَاۖ وَأَكْثَرُهُمُ اُ۬لْكَٰفِرُونَۖ ﱒ

Ya‘rifûna ni‘mata llâhi thumma yunkirûnahâ wa'aktharuhumu lkâfirûn

Ils reconnaissent le bienfait d'Allah; puis, ils le renient. Et la plupart d'entre eux sont des ingrats

They recognize the favor of Allah; then they deny it. And most of them are disbelievers

وَيَوْمَ نَبْعَثُ مِن كُلِّ أُمَّةٖ شَهِيداٗ ثُمَّ لَا يُوذَنُ لِلذِينَ كَفَرُواْ وَلَا هُمْ يُسْتَعْتَبُونَۖ ﱓ

Wayawma nab‘athu min kulli ummatin shahîdan thumma lâ yûdhanu lilladhîna kafarû walâ hum yusta‘tabûn

(Et rappelle-toi) le jour où de chaque communauté Nous susciterons un témoin, on ne permettra pas aux infidèles (de s'excuser), et on ne leur demandera pas de revenir [sur ce qui a provoqué la colère d'Allah]

And [mention] the Day when We will resurrect from every nation a witness. Then it will not be permitted to the disbelievers [to apologize or make excuses], nor will they be asked to appease [Allah]

وَإِذَا رَءَا اَ۬لذِينَ ظَلَمُواْ اُ۬لْعَذَابَ فَلَا يُخَفَّفُ عَنْهُمْ وَلَا هُمْ يُنظَرُونَۖ ﱔ

Wa'idhâ ra'â lladhîna zalamû l‘adhâba falâ yukhaffafu ‘anhum walâ hum yunzarûn

Et quand les injustes verront le châtiment, on ne leur accordera ni allégement ni répit

And when those who wronged see the punishment, it will not be lightened for them, nor will they be reprieved

وَإِذَا رَءَا اَ۬لذِينَ أَشْرَكُواْ شُرَكَآءَهُمْ قَالُواْ رَبَّنَا هَٰٓؤُلَآءِ شُرَكَآؤُنَا اَ۬لذِينَ كُنَّا نَدْعُواْ مِن دُونِكَۖ فَأَلْقَوِاْ اِلَيْهِمُ اُ۬لْقَوْلَ إِنَّكُمْ لَكَٰذِبُونَۖ ﱕ

Wa'idhâ ra'â lladhîna ashrakû shurakâ'ahum qâlû rabbanâ hâ'ulâ'i shurakâ'unâ lladhîna kunnâ nad‘û min dûnika fa'alqawi layhimu lqawla innakum lakâdhibûn

Quand les associateurs verront ceux qu'ils associaient à Allah, ils diront: «O notre Seigneur, voilà nos divinités que nous invoquions en dehors de Toi». Mais [leurs associés] leur adresseront la parole: «Vous êtes assurément des menteurs»

And when those who associated others with Allah see their "partners," they will say," Our Lord, these are our partners [to You] whom we used to invoke besides You." But they will throw at them the statement, "Indeed, you are liars

وَأَلْقَوِاْ اِلَى اَ۬للَّهِ يَوْمَئِذٍ اِ۬لسَّلَمَۖ وَضَلَّ عَنْهُم مَّا كَانُواْ يَفْتَرُونَۖ ﱖ

Wa'alqawi lâ llâhi yawma'idhini ssalama wadalla ‘anhum mâ kânû yaftarûn

Ils offriront ce jour-là à Allah la soumission, et ce qu'ils avaient inventé sera perdu pour eux

And they will impart to Allah that Day [their] submission, and lost from them is what they used to invent

اَ۬لذِينَ كَفَرُواْ وَصَدُّواْ عَن سَبِيلِ اِ۬للَّهِ زِدْنَٰهُمْ عَذَاباٗ فَوْقَ اَ۬لْعَذَابِ بِمَا كَانُواْ يُفْسِدُونَۖ ﱗ

Alladhîna kafarû wasaddû ‘an sabîli llâhi zidnâhum ‘adhâban fawqa l‘adhâbi bimâ kânû yufsidûn

Ceux qui ne croyaient pas et obstruaient le sentier d'Allah, Nous leur ajouterons châtiment sur châtiment, pour la corruption qu'ils semaient (sur terre)

Those who disbelieved and averted [others] from the way of Allah - We will increase them in punishment over [their] punishment for what corruption they were causing

وَيَوْمَ نَبْعَثُ فِے كُلِّ أُمَّةٖ شَهِيداً عَلَيْهِم مِّنَ اَنفُسِهِمْ وَجِئْنَا بِكَ شَهِيداً عَلَىٰ هَٰٓؤُلَآءِۖ وَنَزَّلْنَا عَلَيْكَ اَ۬لْكِتَٰبَ تِبْيَٰناٗ لِّكُلِّ شَےْءٖ وَهُدىٗ وَرَحْمَةٗ وَبُشْر۪ىٰ لِلْمُسْلِمِينَۖ ﱘ

Wayawma nab‘athu fî kulli ummatin shahîdan ‘alayhim mina nfusihim wajî'nâ bika shahîdan ‘alâ hâ'ulâ'i wanazzalnâ ‘alayka lkitâba tibyânal likulli shay'in wahudan warahmatan wabushrê lilmuslimîn

Et le jour où dans chaque communauté, Nous susciterons parmi eux-mêmes un témoin contre eux, Et Nous t'emmenerons [Muhammad] comme témoin contre ceux-ci. Et Nous avons fait descendre sur toi le Livre, comme un exposé explicite de toute chose, ainsi qu'un guide, une grâce et une bonne annonce aux Musulmans

And [mention] the Day when We will resurrect among every nation a witness over them from themselves. And We will bring you, [O Muhammad], as a witness over your nation. And We have sent down to you the Book as clarification for all things and as guidance and mercy and good tidings for the Muslims

۞ إِنَّ اَ۬للَّهَ يَامُرُ بِالْعَدْلِ وَالِاحْسَٰنِ وَإِيتَآءِےْ ذِے اِ۬لْقُرْب۪ىٰۖ وَيَنْه۪ىٰ عَنِ اِ۬لْفَحْشَآءِ وَالْمُنكَرِ وَالْبَغْيِۖ يَعِظُكُمْ لَعَلَّكُمْ تَذَّكَّرُونَۖ ﱙ

Inna llâha yâmuru bil‘adli walihsâni wa'îtâ'iy dhî lqurbê wayanhê ‘ani lfahshâ'i walmunkari walbaghyi ya‘izukum la‘allakum tadhdhakkarûn

Certes, Allah commande l'équité, la bienfaisance et l'assistance aux proches. Et Il interdit la turpitude, l'acte répréhensible et la rébellion. Il vous exhorte afin que vous vous souveniez

Indeed, Allah orders justice and good conduct and giving to relatives and forbids immorality and bad conduct and oppression. He admonishes you that perhaps you will be reminded

وَأَوْفُواْ بِعَهْدِ اِ۬للَّهِ إِذَا عَٰهَدتُّمْۖ وَلَا تَنقُضُواْ اُ۬لَايْمَٰنَ بَعْدَ تَوْكِيدِهَا وَقَدْ جَعَلْتُمُ اُ۬للَّهَ عَلَيْكُمْ كَفِيلاًۖ اِنَّ اَ۬للَّهَ يَعْلَمُ مَا تَفْعَلُونَۖ ﱚ

Wa'awfû bi‘ahdi llâhi idhâ ‘âhadttum walâ tanqudû laymâna ba‘da tawkîdihâ waqad ja‘altumu llâha ‘alaykum kafîlani nna llâha ya‘lamu mâ taf‘alûn

Soyez fidèles au pacte d'Allah après l'avoir contracté et ne violez pas vos serments après les avoir solennellement prêtés et avoir pris Allah comme garant [de votre bonne foi]. Vraiment Allah sait ce que vous faites

And fulfill the covenant of Allah when you have taken it, [O believers], and do not break oaths after their confirmation while you have made Allah, over you, a witness. Indeed, Allah knows what you do

وَلَا تَكُونُواْ كَالتِے نَقَضَتْ غَزْلَهَا مِنۢ بَعْدِ قُوَّةٍ اَنكَٰثاٗ تَتَّخِذُونَ أَيْمَٰنَكُمْ دَخَلاَۢ بَيْنَكُمُۥٓ أَن تَكُونَ أُمَّةٌ هِيَ أَرْب۪ىٰ مِنُ ا۟مَّةٍۖ اِنَّمَا يَبْلُوكُمُ اُ۬للَّهُ بِهِۦۖ وَلَيُبَيِّنَنَّ لَكُمْ يَوْمَ اَ۬لْقِيَٰمَةِ مَا كُنتُمْ فِيهِ تَخْتَلِفُونَۖ ﱛ

Walâ takûnû kallatî naqadat ghazlahâ mim ba‘di quwwatina nkâthan tattakhidhûna aymânakum dakhalam baynakumû an takûna ummatun hiya arbê minu ummatini nnamâ yablûkumu llâhu bihî walayubayyinanna lakum yawma lqiyâmati mâ kuntum fîhi takhtalifûn

Et ne faites pas comme celle qui défaisait brin par brin sa quenouille après l'avoir solidement filée, en prenant vos serments comme un moyen pour vous tromper les uns les autres, du fait que (vous avez trouvé) une communauté plus forte et plus nombreuse que l'autre. Allah ne fait, par là, que vous éprouver. Et, certes, Il vous montrera clairement, au Jour de la Résurrection ce sur quoi vous vous opposiez

And do not be like she who untwisted her spun thread after it was strong [by] taking your oaths as [means of] deceit between you because one community is more plentiful [in number or wealth] than another community. Allah only tries you thereby. And He will surely make clear to you on the Day of Resurrection that over which you used to differ

وَلَوْ شَآءَ اَ۬للَّهُ لَجَعَلَكُمُۥٓ أُمَّةٗ وَٰحِدَةٗۖ وَلَٰكِنْ يُّضِلُّ مَنْ يَّشَآءُ وَيَهْدِے مَنْ يَّشَآءُۖ وَلَتُسْـَٔلُنَّ عَمَّا كُنتُمْ تَعْمَلُونَۖ ﱜ

Walaw shâ'a llâhu laja‘alakumû ummatan wâhidatan walâkiy yudillu may yashâ'u wayahdî may yashâ'u walatus'alunna ‘ammâ kuntum ta‘malûn

Si Allah avait voulu, Il aurait certes fait de vous une seule communauté. Mais Il laisse s'égarer qui Il veut et guide qui Il veut. Et vous serez certes, interrogés sur ce que vous faisiez

And if Allah had willed, He could have made you [of] one religion, but He causes to stray whom He wills and guides whom He wills. And you will surely be questioned about what you used to do

وَلَا تَتَّخِذُوٓاْ أَيْمَٰنَكُمْ دَخَلاَۢ بَيْنَكُمْ فَتَزِلَّ قَدَمُۢ بَعْدَ ثُبُوتِهَا وَتَذُوقُواْ اُ۬لسُّوٓءَ بِمَا صَدَدتُّمْ عَن سَبِيلِ اِ۬للَّهِ وَلَكُمْ عَذَابٌ عَظِيمٞۖ ﱝ

Walâ tattakhidhû aymânakum dakhalam baynakum fatazilla qadamum ba‘da thubûtihâ watadhûqû ssû'a bimâ sadadttum ‘an sabîli llâhi walakum ‘adhâbun ‘azîm

Et ne prenez pas vos serments comme un moyen pour vous tromper les uns les autres, sinon [vos] pas glisseront après avoir été fermes, et vous goûterez le malheur pour avoir barré le sentier d'Allah. Et vous subirez un châtiment terrible

And do not take your oaths as [means of] deceit between you, lest a foot slip after it was [once] firm, and you would taste evil [in this world] for what [people] you diverted from the way of Allah, and you would have [in the Hereafter] a great punishment

وَلَا تَشْتَرُواْ بِعَهْدِ اِ۬للَّهِ ثَمَناٗ قَلِيلاًۖ اِنَّمَا عِندَ اَ۬للَّهِ هُوَ خَيْرٞ لَّكُمُۥٓ إِن كُنتُمْ تَعْلَمُونَۖ ﱞ

Walâ tashtarû bi‘ahdi llâhi thamanan qalîlani nnamâ ‘inda llâhi huwa khayrul lakumû in kuntum ta‘lamûn

Et ne vendez pas à vil prix le pacte d'Allah. Ce qui se trouve auprès d'Allah est meilleur pour vous, si vous saviez

And do not exchange the covenant of Allah for a small price. Indeed, what is with Allah is best for you, if only you could know

مَا عِندَكُمْ يَنفَدُۖ وَمَا عِندَ اَ۬للَّهِ بَاقٖۖ وَلَيَجْزِيَنَّ اَ۬لذِينَ صَبَرُوٓاْ أَجْرَهُم بِأَحْسَنِ مَا كَانُواْ يَعْمَلُونَۖ ﱟ

Mâ ‘indakum yanfadu wamâ ‘inda llâhi bâqin walayajziyanna lladhîna sabarû ajrahum bi'ahsani mâ kânû ya‘malûn

Tout ce que vous possédez s'épuisera, tandis que ce qui est auprès d'Allah durera. Et Nous récompenserons ceux qui ont été constants en fonction du meilleur de ce qu'ils faisaient

Whatever you have will end, but what Allah has is lasting. And We will surely give those who were patient their reward according to the best of what they used to do

مَنْ عَمِلَ صَٰلِحاٗ مِّن ذَكَرٍ اَوُ ا۟نث۪ىٰ وَهُوَ مُومِنٞ فَلَنُحْيِيَنَّهُۥ حَيَوٰةٗ طَيِّبَةٗ وَلَنَجْزِيَنَّهُمُۥٓ أَجْرَهُم بِأَحْسَنِ مَا كَانُواْ يَعْمَلُونَۖ ﱠ

Man ‘amila sâliham min dhakarina wu unthê wahuwa mûminun falanuhyiyannahû hayawâtan tayyibatan walanajziyannahumû ajrahum bi'ahsani mâ kânû ya‘malûn

Quiconque, mâle ou femelle, fait une bonne œuvre tout en étant croyant, Nous lui ferons vivre une bonne vie. Et Nous les récompenserons, certes, en fonction des meilleures de leurs actions

Whoever does righteousness, whether male or female, while he is a believer - We will surely cause him to live a good life, and We will surely give them their reward [in the Hereafter] according to the best of what they used to do

۞ فَإِذَا قَرَأْتَ اَ۬لْقُرْءَانَ فَاسْتَعِذْ بِاللَّهِ مِنَ اَ۬لشَّيْطَٰنِ اِ۬لرَّجِيمِۖ ﱡ

Fa'idhâ qara'ta lqur'âna fasta‘idh billâhi mina shshaytâni rrajîm

Lorsque tu lis le Coran, demande la protection d'Allah contre le Diable banni

So when you recite the Qur'an, [first] seek refuge in Allah from Satan, the expelled [from His mercy]

إِنَّهُۥ لَيْسَ لَهُۥ سُلْطَٰنٌ عَلَى اَ۬لذِينَ ءَامَنُواْ وَعَلَىٰ رَبِّهِمْ يَتَوَكَّلُونَۖ ﱢ

Innahû laysa lahû sultânun ‘alâ lladhîna âmanû wa‘alâ rabbihim yatawakkalûn

Il n'a aucun pouvoir sur ceux qui croient et qui placent leur confiance en leur Seigneur

Indeed, there is for him no authority over those who have believed and rely upon their Lord

إِنَّمَا سُلْطَٰنُهُۥ عَلَى اَ۬لذِينَ يَتَوَلَّوْنَهُۥ وَالذِينَ هُم بِهِۦ مُشْرِكُونَۖ ﱣ

Innamâ sultânuhû ‘alâ lladhîna yatawallawnahû walladhîna hum bihî mushrikûn

Il n'a de pouvoir que sur ceux qui le prennent pour allié et qui deviennent associateurs à cause de lui

His authority is only over those who take him as an ally and those who through him associate others with Allah

وَإِذَا بَدَّلْنَآ ءَايَةٗ مَّكَانَ ءَايَةٖ وَاللَّهُ أَعْلَمُ بِمَا يُنَزِّلُ قَالُوٓاْ إِنَّمَآ أَنتَ مُفْتَرِۢۖ بَلَ اَكْثَرُهُمْ لَا يَعْلَمُونَۖ ﱤ

Wa'idhâ baddalnâ âyatam makâna âyatin wallâhu a‘lamu bimâ yunazzilu qâlû innamâ anta muftarim bala ktharuhum lâ ya‘lamûn

Quand Nous remplaçons un verset par un autre - et Allah sait mieux ce qu'Il fait descendre - ils disent: «Tu n'es qu'un menteur». Mais la plupart d'entre eux ne savent pas

And when We substitute a verse in place of a verse - and Allah is most knowing of what He sends down - they say, "You, [O Muhammad], are but an inventor [of lies]." But most of them do not know

قُلْ نَزَّلَهُۥ رُوحُ اُ۬لْقُدُسِ مِن رَّبِّكَ بِالْحَقِّ لِيُثَبِّتَ اَ۬لذِينَ ءَامَنُواْ وَهُدىٗ وَبُشْر۪ىٰ لِلْمُسْلِمِينَۖ ﱥ

Qul nazzalahû rûhu lqudusi mir rabbika bilhaqqi liyuthabbita lladhîna âmanû wahudan wabushrê lilmuslimîn

Dis: «C'est le Saint Esprit [Gabriel] qui l'a fait descendre de la part de ton Seigneur en toute vérité, afin de raffermir [la foi] de ceux qui croient, ainsi qu'un guide et une bonne annonce pour les Musulmans.»

Say, [O Muhammad], "The Pure Spirit has brought it down from your Lord in truth to make firm those who believe and as guidance and good tidings to the Muslims

وَلَقَدْ نَعْلَمُ أَنَّهُمْ يَقُولُونَ إِنَّمَا يُعَلِّمُهُۥ بَشَرٞۖ لِّسَانُ اُ۬لذِے يُلْحِدُونَ إِلَيْهِ أَعْجَمِيّٞ وَهَٰذَا لِسَانٌ عَرَبِيّٞ مُّبِينٌۖ ﱦ

Walaqad na‘lamu annahum yaqûlûna innamâ yu‘allimuhû basharul lisânu lladhî yulhidûna ilayhi a‘jamiyyun wahâdhâ lisânun ‘arabiyyum mubîn

Et Nous savons parfaitement qu'ils disent: «Ce n'est qu'un être humain qui lui enseigne (le Coran)». Or, la langue de celui auquel ils font allusion est étrangère [non arabe], et celle-ci est une langue arabe bien claire

And We certainly know that they say, "It is only a human being who teaches the Prophet." The tongue of the one they refer to is foreign, and this Qur'an is [in] a clear Arabic language

اِنَّ اَ۬لذِينَ لَا يُومِنُونَ بِـَٔايَٰتِ اِ۬للَّهِ لَا يَهْدِيهِمُ اُ۬للَّهُۖ وَلَهُمْ عَذَابٌ اَلِيمٌۖ ﱧ

Inna lladhîna lâ yûminûna bi'âyâti llâhi lâ yahdîhimu llâhu walahum ‘adhâbuna lîm

Ceux qui ne croient pas aux versets d'Allah, Allah ne les guide pas. Et ils ont un châtiment douloureux

Indeed, those who do not believe in the verses of Allah - Allah will not guide them, and for them is a painful punishment

اِنَّمَا يَفْتَرِے اِ۬لْكَذِبَ اَ۬لذِينَ لَا يُومِنُونَ بِـَٔايَٰتِ اِ۬للَّهِۖ وَأُوْلَٰٓئِكَ هُمُ اُ۬لْكَٰذِبُونَۖ ﱨ

Innamâ yaftarî lkadhiba lladhîna lâ yûminûna bi'âyâti llâhi wa'ulâ'ika humu lkâdhibûn

Seuls forgent le mensonge ceux qui ne croient pas aux versets d'Allah; et tels sont les menteurs

They only invent falsehood who do not believe in the verses of Allah, and it is those who are the liars

مَن كَفَرَ بِاللَّهِ مِنۢ بَعْدِ إِيمَٰنِهِۦٓ إِلَّا مَنُ ا۟كْرِهَ وَقَلْبُهُۥ مُطْمَئِنُّۢ بِالِايمَٰنِۖ وَلَٰكِن مَّن شَرَحَ بِالْكُفْرِ صَدْراٗ فَعَلَيْهِمْ غَضَبٞ مِّنَ اَ۬للَّهِۖ وَلَهُمْ عَذَابٌ عَظِيمٞۖ ﱩ

Man kafara billâhi mim ba‘di îmânihî illâ manu ukriha waqalbuhû mutma'innu bilîmâni walâkim man sharaha bilkufri sadran fa‘alayhim ghadabum mina llâhi walahum ‘adhâbun ‘azîm

Quiconque a renié Allah après avoir cru... - sauf celui qui y a été contraint alors que son cœur demeure plein de la sérénité de la foi - mais ceux qui ouvrent délibérément leur cœur à la mécréance, ceux-là ont sur eux une colère d'Allah et ils ont un châtiment terrible

Whoever disbelieves in Allah after his belief... except for one who is forced [to renounce his religion] while his heart is secure in faith. But those who [willingly] open their breasts to disbelief, upon them is wrath from Allah, and for them is a great punishment

ذَٰلِكَ بِأَنَّهُمُ اُ۪سْتَحَبُّواْ اُ۬لْحَيَوٰةَ اَ۬لدُّنْي۪ا عَلَى اَ۬لَاخِرَةِ وَأَنَّ اَ۬للَّهَ لَا يَهْدِے اِ۬لْقَوْمَ اَ۬لْكٰ۪فِرِينَۖ ﱪ

Dhâlika bi'annahumu stahabbû lhayawâta ddunyê ‘alâ lakhirati wa'anna llâha lâ yahdî lqawma lkêfirîn

Il en est ainsi, parce qu'ils ont aimé la vie présente plus que l'au-delà. Et Allah, vraiment, ne guide pas les gens mécréants

That is because they preferred the worldly life over the Hereafter and that Allah does not guide the disbelieving people

أُوْلَٰٓئِكَ اَ۬لذِينَ طَبَعَ اَ۬للَّهُ عَلَىٰ قُلُوبِهِمْ وَسَمْعِهِمْ وَأَبْصٰ۪رِهِمْۖ وَأُوْلَٰٓئِكَ هُمُ اُ۬لْغَٰفِلُونَۖ ﱫ

Ulâ'ika lladhîna taba‘a llâhu ‘alâ qulûbihim wasam‘ihim wa'absêrihim wa'ulâ'ika humu lghâfilûn

Voilà ceux dont Allah a scellé les cœurs, l'ouïe, et les yeux. Ce sont eux les insouciants

Those are the ones over whose hearts and hearing and vision Allah has sealed, and it is those who are the heedless

لَا جَرَمَ أَنَّهُمْ فِے اِ۬لَاخِرَةِ هُمُ اُ۬لْخَٰسِرُونَۖ ﱬ

Lâ jarama annahum fî lakhirati humu lkhâsirûn

Et nul doute que dans l'au-delà, ils seront les perdants

Assuredly, it is they, in the Hereafter, who will be the losers

ثُمَّ إِنَّ رَبَّكَ لِلذِينَ هَاجَرُواْ مِنۢ بَعْدِ مَا فُتِنُواْ ثُمَّ جَٰهَدُواْ وَصَبَرُوٓاْ إِنَّ رَبَّكَ مِنۢ بَعْدِهَا لَغَفُورٞ رَّحِيمٞۖ ﱭ

Thumma inna rabbaka lilladhîna hâjarû mim ba‘di mâ futinû thumma jâhadû wasabarû inna rabbaka mim ba‘dihâ laghafûrur rahîm

Quant à ceux qui ont émigré après avoir subi des épreuves, puis ont lutté et ont enduré, ton Seigneur après cela, est certes Pardonneur et Miséricordieux

Then, indeed your Lord, to those who emigrated after they had been compelled [to renounce their religion] and thereafter fought [for the cause of Allah] and were patient - indeed, your Lord, after that, is Forgiving and Merciful

۞ يَوْمَ تَاتِے كُلُّ نَفْسٖ تُجَٰدِلُ عَن نَّفْسِهَا وَتُوَفّ۪ىٰ كُلُّ نَفْسٖ مَّا عَمِلَتْ وَهُمْ لَا يُظْلَمُونَۖ ﱮ

Yawma tâtî kullu nafsin tujâdilu ‘an nafsihâ watuwaffê kullu nafsim mâ ‘amilat wahum lâ yuzlamûn

(Rappelle-toi) le jour où chaque âme viendra, plaidant pour elle-même, et chaque âme sera pleinement rétribuée pour ce qu'elle aura œuvré sans qu'ils subissent la moindre injustice

On the Day when every soul will come disputing for itself, and every soul will be fully compensated for what it did, and they will not be wronged

وَضَرَبَ اَ۬للَّهُ مَثَلاٗ قَرْيَةٗ كَانَتَ اٰمِنَةٗ مُّطْمَئِنَّةٗ يَاتِيهَا رِزْقُهَا رَغَداٗ مِّن كُلِّ مَكَانٖ فَكَفَرَتْ بِأَنْعُمِ اِ۬للَّهِ فَأَذَاقَهَا اَ۬للَّهُ لِبَاسَ اَ۬لْجُوعِ وَالْخَوْفِ بِمَا كَانُواْ يَصْنَعُونَۖ ﱯ

Wadaraba llâhu mathalan qaryatan kânata âminatam mutma'innatan yâtîhâ rizquhâ raghadam min kulli makânin fakafarat bi'an‘umi llâhi fa'adhâqahâ llâhu libâsa ljû‘i walkhawfi bimâ kânû yasna‘ûn

Et Allah propose en parabole une ville: elle était en sécurité, tranquille; sa part de nourriture lui venait de partout en abondance. Puis elle se montra ingrate aux bienfaits d'Allah. Allah lui fit alors goûter la violence de la faim et de la peur [en punition] de ce qu'ils faisaient

And Allah presents an example: a city which was safe and secure, its provision coming to it in abundance from every location, but it denied the favors of Allah. So Allah made it taste the envelopment of hunger and fear for what they had been doing

وَلَقَدْ جَآءَهُمْ رَسُولٞ مِّنْهُمْ فَكَذَّبُوهُ فَأَخَذَهُمُ اُ۬لْعَذَابُ وَهُمْ ظَٰلِمُونَۖ ﱰ

Walaqad jâ'ahum rasûlum minhum fakadhdhabûhu fa'akhadhahumu l‘adhâbu wahum zâlimûn

En effet, un Messager des leurs est venu à eux, mais ils l'ont traité de menteur. Le châtiment, donc, les saisit parce qu'ils étaient injustes

And there had certainly come to them a Messenger from among themselves, but they denied him; so punishment overtook them while they were wrongdoers

فَكُلُواْ مِمَّا رَزَقَكُمُ اُ۬للَّهُ حَلَٰلاٗ طَيِّباٗۖ وَاشْكُرُواْ نِعْمَتَ اَ۬للَّهِ إِن كُنتُمُۥٓ إِيَّاهُ تَعْبُدُونَۖ ﱱ

Fakulû mimmâ razaqakumu llâhu halâlan tayyiban washkurû ni‘mata llâhi in kuntumû iyyâhu ta‘budûn

Mangez donc de ce qu'Allah vous a attribué de licite et de bon. Et soyez reconnaissants pour les bienfaits d'Allah, si c'est Lui que vous adorez

Then eat of what Allah has provided for you [which is] lawful and good. And be grateful for the favor of Allah, if it is [indeed] Him that you worship

إِنَّمَا حَرَّمَ عَلَيْكُمُ اُ۬لْمَيْتَةَ وَالدَّمَ وَلَحْمَ اَ۬لْخِنزِيرِ وَمَآ أُهِلَّ لِغَيْرِ اِ۬للَّهِ بِهِۦۖ فَمَنُ اُ۟ضْطُرَّ غَيْرَ بَاغٖ وَلَا عَادٖ فَإِنَّ اَ۬للَّهَ غَفُورٞ رَّحِيمٞۖ ﱲ

Innamâ harrama ‘alaykumu lmaytata waddama walahma lkhinzîri wamâ uhilla lighayri llâhi bihî famanu dturra ghayra bâghin walâ ‘âdin fa'inna llâha ghafûrur rahîm

Il vous a, en effet, interdit (la chair) de la bête morte, le sang, la chair de porc, et la bête sur laquelle un autre nom que celui d'Allah a été invoqué. Mais quiconque en mange sous contrainte, et n'est ni rebelle ni transgresseur, alors Allah est Pardonneur et Miséricordieux

He has only forbidden to you dead animals, blood, the flesh of swine, and that which has been dedicated to other than Allah. But whoever is forced [by necessity], neither desiring [it] nor transgressing [its limit] - then indeed, Allah is Forgiving and Merciful

وَلَا تَقُولُواْ لِمَا تَصِفُ أَلْسِنَتُكُمُ اُ۬لْكَذِبَ هَٰذَا حَلَٰلٞ وَهَٰذَا حَرَامٞ لِّتَفْتَرُواْ عَلَى اَ۬للَّهِ اِ۬لْكَذِبَۖ إِنَّ اَ۬لذِينَ يَفْتَرُونَ عَلَى اَ۬للَّهِ اِ۬لْكَذِبَ لَا يُفْلِحُونَۖ ﱳ

Walâ taqûlû limâ tasifu alsinatukumu lkadhiba hâdhâ halâlun wahâdhâ harâmul litaftarû ‘alâ llâhi lkadhiba inna lladhîna yaftarûna ‘alâ llâhi lkadhiba lâ yuflihûn

Et ne dites pas, conformément aux mensonges proférés par vos langues: «Ceci est licite, et cela est illicite», pour forger le mensonge contre Allah. Certes, ceux qui forgent le mensonge contre Allah ne réussiront pas

And do not say about what your tongues assert of untruth, "This is lawful and this is unlawful," to invent falsehood about Allah. Indeed, those who invent falsehood about Allah will not succeed

مَتَٰعٞ قَلِيلٞۖ وَلَهُمْ عَذَابٌ اَلِيمٞۖ ﱴ

Matâ‘un qalîlun walahum ‘adhâbuna lîm

Ce sera pour eux une piètre jouissance, mais un douloureux châtiment les attend

[It is but] a brief enjoyment, and they will have a painful punishment

وَعَلَى اَ۬لذِينَ هَادُواْ حَرَّمْنَا مَا قَصَصْنَا عَلَيْكَ مِن قَبْلُۖ وَمَا ظَلَمْنَٰهُمْۖ وَلَٰكِن كَانُوٓاْ أَنفُسَهُمْ يَظْلِمُونَۖ ﱵ

Wa‘alâ lladhîna hâdû harramnâ mâ qasasnâ ‘alayka min qablu wamâ zalamnâhum walâkin kânû anfusahum yazlimûn

Aux Juifs, Nous avions interdit ce que Nous t'avons déjà relaté. Nous ne leur avons fait aucun tort; mais ils se faisaient du tort à eux-mêmes

And to those who are Jews We have prohibited that which We related to you before. And We did not wrong them [thereby], but they were wronging themselves

ثُمَّ إِنَّ رَبَّكَ لِلذِينَ عَمِلُواْ اُ۬لسُّوٓءَ بِجَهَٰلَةٖ ثُمَّ تَابُواْ مِنۢ بَعْدِ ذَٰلِكَ وَأَصْلَحُوٓاْ إِنَّ رَبَّكَ مِنۢ بَعْدِهَا لَغَفُورٞ رَّحِيمٌۖ ﱶ

Thumma inna rabbaka lilladhîna ‘amilû ssû'a bijahâlatin thumma tâbû mim ba‘di dhâlika wa'aslahû inna rabbaka mim ba‘dihâ laghafûrur rahîm

Puis ton Seigneur envers ceux qui ont commis le mal par ignorance, et se sont par la suite repentis et ont amélioré leur conduite, ton Seigneur, après cela est certes Pardonneur et Miséricordieux

Then, indeed your Lord, to those who have done wrong out of ignorance and then repent after that and correct themselves - indeed, your Lord, thereafter, is Forgiving and Merciful

۞ اِنَّ إِبْرَٰهِيمَ كَانَ أُمَّةٗ قَانِتاٗ لِّلهِ حَنِيفاٗ وَلَمْ يَكُ مِنَ اَ۬لْمُشْرِكِينَۖ ﱷ

Inna ibrâhîma kâna ummatan qânitan lillâhi hanîfan walam yaku mina lmushrikîn

Abraham était un guide ('Umma) parfait. Il était soumis à Allah, voué exclusivement à Lui et il n'était point du nombre des associateurs

Indeed, Abraham was a [comprehensive] leader, devoutly obedient to Allah, inclining toward truth, and he was not of those who associate others with Allah

شَاكِراٗ لِّأَنْعُمِهِۖ اِ۪جْتَب۪يٰهُ وَهَد۪يٰهُ إِلَىٰ صِرَٰطٖ مُّسْتَقِيمٖۖ ﱸ

Shâkiral li'an‘umihi jtabêhu wahadêhu ilâ sirâtim mustaqîm

Il était reconnaissant pour Ses bienfaits et Allah l'avait élu et guidé vers un droit chemin

[He was] grateful for His favors. Allah chose him and guided him to a straight path

وَءَاتَيْنَٰهُ فِے اِ۬لدُّنْي۪ا حَسَنَةٗۖ وَإِنَّهُۥ فِے اِ۬لَاخِرَةِ لَمِنَ اَ۬لصَّٰلِحِينَۖ ﱹ

Wa'âtaynâhu fî ddunyê hasanatan wa'innahû fî lakhirati lamina ssâlihîn

Nous lui avons donné une belle part ici-bas. Et il sera certes dans l'au-delà du nombre des gens de bien

And We gave him good in this world, and indeed, in the Hereafter he will be among the righteous

ثُمَّ أَوْحَيْنَآ إِلَيْكَ أَنِ اِ۪تَّبِعْ مِلَّةَ إِبْرَٰهِيمَ حَنِيفاٗۖ وَمَا كَانَ مِنَ اَ۬لْمُشْرِكِينَۖ ﱺ

Thumma awhaynâ ilayka ani ttabi‘ millata ibrâhîma hanîfan wamâ kâna mina lmushrikîn

Puis Nous t'avons révélé: «Suis la religion d'Abraham qui était voué exclusivement à Allah et n'était point du nombre des associateurs»

Then We revealed to you, [O Muhammad], to follow the religion of Abraham, inclining toward truth; and he was not of those who associate with Allah

إِنَّمَا جُعِلَ اَ۬لسَّبْتُ عَلَى اَ۬لذِينَ اَ۪خْتَلَفُواْ فِيهِۖ وَإِنَّ رَبَّكَ لَيَحْكُمُ بَيْنَهُمْ يَوْمَ اَ۬لْقِيَٰمَةِ فِيمَا كَانُواْ فِيهِ يَخْتَلِفُونَۖ ﱻ

Innamâ ju‘ila ssabtu ‘alâ lladhîna khtalafû fîhi wa'inna rabbaka layahkumu baynahum yawma lqiyâmati fîmâ kânû fîhi yakhtalifûn

Le Sabbat n'a été imposé qu'à ceux qui divergeaient à son sujet. Au Jour de la Résurrection, ton Seigneur jugera certainement au sujet de ce dont ils divergeaient

The sabbath was only appointed for those who differed over it. And indeed, your Lord will judge between them on the Day of Resurrection concerning that over which they used to differ

اَ۟دْعُ إِلَىٰ سَبِيلِ رَبِّكَ بِالْحِكْمَةِ وَالْمَوْعِظَةِ اِ۬لْحَسَنَةِ وَجَٰدِلْهُم بِالتِے هِيَ أَحْسَنُۖ إِنَّ رَبَّكَ هُوَ أَعْلَمُ بِمَن ضَلَّ عَن سَبِيلِهِۦۖ وَهُوَ أَعْلَمُ بِالْمُهْتَدِينَۖ ﱼ

Ud‘u ilâ sabîli rabbika bilhikmati walmaw‘izati lhasanati wajâdilhum billatî hiya ahsanu inna rabbaka huwa a‘lamu biman dalla ‘an sabîlihî wahuwa a‘lamu bilmuhtadîn

Par la sagesse et la bonne exhortation appelle (les gens) au sentier de ton Seigneur. Et discute avec eux de la meilleure façon. Car c'est ton Seigneur qui connaît le mieux celui qui s'égare de Son sentier et c'est Lui qui connaît le mieux ceux qui sont bien guidés

Invite to the way of your Lord with wisdom and good instruction, and argue with them in a way that is best. Indeed, your Lord is most knowing of who has strayed from His way, and He is most knowing of who is [rightly] guided

وَإِنْ عَاقَبْتُمْ فَعَاقِبُواْ بِمِثْلِ مَا عُوقِبْتُم بِهِۦۖ وَلَئِن صَبَرْتُمْ لَهُوَ خَيْرٞ لِّلصَّٰبِرِينَۖ ﱽ

Wa'in ‘âqabtum fa‘âqibû bimithli mâ ‘ûqibtum bihî wala'in sabartum lahuwa khayrul lissâbirîn

Et si vous punissez, infligez [à l'agresseur] une punition égale au tort qu'il vous a fait. Et si vous endurez... cela est certes meilleur pour les endurants

And if you punish [an enemy, O believers], punish with an equivalent of that with which you were harmed. But if you are patient - it is better for those who are patient

وَاصْبِرْۖ وَمَا صَبْرُكَ إِلَّا بِاللَّهِۖ وَلَا تَحْزَنْ عَلَيْهِمْ وَلَا تَكُ فِے ضَيْقٖ مِّمَّا يَمْكُرُونَۖ ﱾ

Wasbir wamâ sabruka illâ billâhi walâ tahzan ‘alayhim walâ taku fî dayqim mimmâ yamkurûn

Endure! Ton endurance [ne viendra] qu'avec (l'aide) d'Allah. Ne t'afflige pas pour eux. Et ne sois pas angoissé à cause de leurs complots

And be patient, [O Muhammad], and your patience is not but through Allah. And do not grieve over them and do not be in distress over what they conspire

إِنَّ اَ۬للَّهَ مَعَ اَ۬لذِينَ اَ۪تَّقَواْ وَّالذِينَ هُم مُّحْسِنُونَۖ ﱿ

Inna llâha ma‘a lladhîna ttaqaw walladhîna hum muhsinûn

Certes, Allah est avec ceux qui [L'] ont craint avec piété et ceux qui sont bienfaisants

Indeed, Allah is with those who fear Him and those who are doers of good
