ح۪مِٓۖ وَالْكِتَٰبِ اِ۬لْمُبِينِ ﰀ

Hâ mîm walkitâbi lmubîn

H'â, Mîm Par le Livre explicite

Ha, Meem By the clear Book

إِنَّا جَعَلْنَٰهُ قُرْءَٰناً عَرَبِيّاٗ لَّعَلَّكُمْ تَعْقِلُونَۖ ﰁ

Innâ ja‘alnâhu qur'ânan ‘arabiyyal la‘allakum ta‘qilûn

Nous en avons fait un Coran arabe afin que vous raisonniez

Indeed, We have made it an Arabic Qur'an that you might understand

وَإِنَّهُۥ فِےٓ أُمِّ اِ۬لْكِتَٰبِ لَدَيْنَا لَعَلِيٌّ حَكِيمٌۖ ﰂ

Wa'innahû fî ummi lkitâbi ladaynâ la‘aliyyun hakîm

Il est auprès de Nous, dans l'Ecriture-Mère (l'original au ciel), sublime et rempli de sagesse

And indeed it is, in the Mother of the Book with Us, exalted and full of wisdom

اَفَنَضْرِبُ عَنكُمُ اُ۬لذِّكْرَ صَفْحاً اِن كُنتُمْ قَوْماٗ مُّسْرِفِينَۖ ﰃ

Afanadribu ‘ankumu dhdhikra safhani n kuntum qawmam musrifîn

Quoi! Allons-Nous vous dispenser du Rappel [le Coran] pour la raison que vous êtes des gens outranciers

Then should We turn the message away, disregarding you, because you are a transgressing people

وَكَمَ اَرْسَلْنَا مِن نَّبِےٓءٖ فِے اِ۬لَاوَّلِينَۖ ﰄ

Wakama rsalnâ min nabî'in fî lawwalîn

Que de prophètes avons-Nous envoyés aux Anciens

And how many a prophet We sent among the former peoples

وَمَا يَاتِيهِم مِّن نَّبِےٓءٍ اِلَّا كَانُواْ بِهِۦ يَسْتَهْزِءُونَۖ ﰅ

Wamâ yâtîhim min nabî'ini llâ kânû bihî yastahzi'ûn

et pas un prophète ne leur venait qu'ils ne le tournaient en dérision

But there would not come to them a prophet except that they used to ridicule him

فَأَهْلَكْنَآ أَشَدَّ مِنْهُم بَطْشاٗۖ وَمَض۪ىٰ مَثَلُ اُ۬لَاوَّلِينَۖ ﰆ

Fa'ahlaknâ ashadda minhum batshan wamadê mathalu lawwalîn

Nous avons fait périr de plus redoutables qu'eux! Et on a déjà cité l'exemple des anciens

And We destroyed greater than them in [striking] power, and the example of the former peoples has preceded

وَلَئِن سَأَلْتَهُم مَّنْ خَلَقَ اَ۬لسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَالَارْضَ لَيَقُولُنَّ خَلَقَهُنَّ اَ۬لْعَزِيزُ اُ۬لْعَلِيمُۖ ﰇ

Wala'in sa'altahum man khalaqa ssamâwâti walarda layaqûlunna khalaqahunna l‘azîzu l‘alîm

Et si tu leur demandes: «Qui a créé les cieux et la terre?» Ils diront très certainement: «Le Puissant, l'Omniscient les a créés»

And if you should ask them, "Who has created the heavens and the earth?" they would surely say, "They were created by the Exalted in Might, the Knowing

اُ۬لذِے جَعَلَ لَكُمُ اُ۬لَارْضَ مِهَٰداٗ وَجَعَلَ لَكُمْ فِيهَا سُبُلاٗ لَّعَلَّكُمْ تَهْتَدُونَۖ ﰈ

Alladhî ja‘ala lakumu larda mihâdan waja‘ala lakum fîhâ subulal la‘allakum tahtadûn

Celui qui vous a donné la terre pour berceau et vous y a tracé des sentiers afin que vous vous guidiez

[The one] who has made for you the earth a bed and made for you upon it roads that you might be guided

۞ وَالذِے نَزَّلَ مِنَ اَ۬لسَّمَآءِ مَآءَۢ بِقَدَرٖ فَأَنشَرْنَا بِهِۦ بَلْدَةٗ مَّيْتاٗۖ كَذَٰلِكَ تُخْرَجُونَۖ ﰉ

Walladhî nazzala mina ssamâ'i mâ'am biqadarin fa'ansharnâ bihî baldatam maytan kadhâlika tukhrajûn

Celui qui a fait descendre l'eau du ciel avec mesure et avec laquelle Nous ranimons une cité morte [aride]. Ainsi vous serez ressuscités

And who sends down rain from the sky in measured amounts, and We revive thereby a dead land - thus will you be brought forth

وَالذِے خَلَقَ اَ۬لَازْوَٰجَ كُلَّهَا وَجَعَلَ لَكُم مِّنَ اَ۬لْفُلْكِ وَالَانْعَٰمِ مَا تَرْكَبُونَ ﰊ

Walladhî khalaqa lazwâja kullahâ waja‘ala lakum mina lfulki walan‘âmi mâ tarkabûn

Celui qui a créé les couples dans leur totalité et a fait pour vous, des vaisseaux et des bestiaux, des montures

And who created the species, all of them, and has made for you of ships and animals those which you mount

لِتَسْتَوُۥاْ عَلَىٰ ظُهُورِهِۦ ثُمَّ تَذْكُرُواْ نِعْمَةَ رَبِّكُمُۥٓ إِذَا اَ۪سْتَوَيْتُمْ عَلَيْهِ وَتَقُولُواْ سُبْحَٰنَ اَ۬لذِے سَخَّرَ لَنَا هَٰذَا وَمَا كُنَّا لَهُۥ مُقْرِنِينَ ﰋ

Litastawû ‘alâ zuhûrihî thumma tadhkurû ni‘mata rabbikumû idhâ stawaytum ‘alayhi wataqûlû subhâna lladhî sakhkhara lanâ hâdhâ wamâ kunnâ lahû muqrinîn

afin que vous vous installiez sur leurs dos, et qu'ensuite, après vous y être installés, vous vous rappeliez le bienfait de votre Seigneur et que vous disiez: «Gloire à Celui qui nous a soumis tout cela alors que nous n'étions pas capables de les dominer

That you may settle yourselves upon their backs and then remember the favor of your Lord when you have settled upon them and say. "Exalted is He who has subjected this to us, and we could not have [otherwise] subdued it

وَإِنَّآ إِلَىٰ رَبِّنَا لَمُنقَلِبُونَۖ ﰌ

Wa'innâ ilâ rabbinâ lamunqalibûn

C'est vers notre Seigneur que nous retournerons»

And indeed we, to our Lord, will [surely] return

وَجَعَلُواْ لَهُۥ مِنْ عِبَادِهِۦ جُزْءاًۖ اِنَّ اَ۬لِانسَٰنَ لَكَفُورٞ مُّبِينٌۖ ﰍ

Waja‘alû lahû min ‘ibâdihî juz'ani nna linsâna lakafûrum mubîn

Et ils Lui firent de Ses serviteurs une partie [de Lui-Même]. L'homme est vraiment un ingrat déclaré

But they have attributed to Him from His servants a portion. Indeed, man is clearly ungrateful

اَمِ اِ۪تَّخَذَ مِمَّا يَخْلُقُ بَنَاتٖ وَأَصْف۪يٰكُم بِالْبَنِينَۖ ﰎ

Ami ttakhadha mimmâ yakhluqu banâtin wa'asfêkum bilbanîn

Ou bien Se serait-Il attribué des filles parmi ce qu'Il crée et accordé à vous par préférence des fils

Or has He taken, out of what He has created, daughters and chosen you for [having] sons

وَإِذَا بُشِّرَ أَحَدُهُم بِمَا ضَرَبَ لِلرَّحْمَٰنِ مَثَلاٗ ظَلَّ وَجْهُهُۥ مُسْوَدّاٗ وَهُوَ كَظِيمٌۖ ﰏ

Wa'idhâ bushshira ahaduhum bimâ daraba lirrahmâni mathalan zalla wajhuhû muswaddan wahuwa kazîm

Or, quand on annonce à l'un d'eux (la naissance) d'une semblable de ce qu'il attribue au Tout Miséricordieux, son visage s'assombrit d'un chagrin profond

And when one of them is given good tidings of that which he attributes to the Most Merciful in comparison, his face becomes dark, and he suppresses grief

اَوَمَنْ يَّنشَؤُاْ فِے اِ۬لْحِلْيَةِ وَهُوَ فِے اِ۬لْخِصَامِ غَيْرُ مُبِينٖۖ ﰐ

Awamay yansha'u fî lhilyati wahuwa fî lkhisâmi ghayru mubîn

Quoi! Cet être (la fille) élevé au milieu des parures et qui, dans la dispute, est incapable de se défendre par une argumentation claire et convaincante

So is one brought up in ornaments while being during conflict unevident [attributed to Allah]

وَجَعَلُواْ اُ۬لْمَلَٰٓئِكَةَ اَ۬لذِينَ هُمْ عِندَ اَ۬لرَّحْمَٰنِ إِنَٰثاًۖ اَ۟شْهِدُواْ خَلْقَهُمْۖ سَتُكْتَبُ شَهَٰدَتُهُمْ وَيُسْـَٔلُونَۖ ﰑ

Waja‘alû lmalâ'ikata lladhîna hum ‘inda rrahmâni inâthani shhidû khalqahum satuktabu shahâdatuhum wayus'alûn

Et ils firent des Anges qui sont les serviteurs du Tout Miséricordieux des [êtres] féminins! Etaient-ils témoins de leur création? Leur témoignage sera alors inscrit; et ils seront interrogés

And they have made the angels, who are servants of the Most Merciful, females. Did they witness their creation? Their testimony will be recorded, and they will be questioned

وَقَالُواْ لَوْ شَآءَ اَ۬لرَّحْمَٰنُ مَا عَبَدْنَٰهُمۖ مَّا لَهُم بِذَٰلِكَ مِنْ عِلْمٍۖ اِنْ هُمُۥٓ إِلَّا يَخْرُصُونَۖ ﰒ

Waqâlû law shâ'a rrahmânu mâ ‘abadnâhum mâ lahum bidhâlika min ‘ilmini n humû illâ yakhrusûn

Et ils dirent: «Si le Tout Miséricordieux avait voulu, nous ne les aurions pas adorés». Ils n'en ont aucune connaissance; ils ne font que se livrer à des conjectures

And they said, "If the Most Merciful had willed, we would not have worshipped them." They have of that no knowledge. They are not but falsifying

أَمَ اٰتَيْنَٰهُمْ كِتَٰباٗ مِّن قَبْلِهِۦ فَهُم بِهِۦ مُسْتَمْسِكُونَۖ ﰓ

Ama âtaynâhum kitâbam min qablihî fahum bihî mustamsikûn

Ou bien, leur avions-Nous donné avant lui [le Coran] un Livre auquel ils seraient fermement attachés

Or have We given them a book before the Qur'an to which they are adhering

بَلْ قَالُوٓاْ إِنَّا وَجَدْنَآ ءَابَآءَنَا عَلَىٰٓ أُمَّةٖ وَإِنَّا عَلَىٰٓ ءَاثٰ۪رِهِم مُّهْتَدُونَۖ ﰔ

Bal qâlû innâ wajadnâ âbâ'anâ ‘alâ ummatin wa'innâ ‘alâ âthêrihim muhtadûn

Mais plutôt ils dirent: «Nous avons trouvé nos ancêtres sur une religion, et nous nous guidons sur leurs traces»

Rather, they say, "Indeed, we found our fathers upon a religion, and we are in their footsteps [rightly] guided

وَكَذَٰلِكَ مَآ أَرْسَلْنَا مِن قَبْلِكَ فِے قَرْيَةٖ مِّن نَّذِيرٍ اِلَّا قَالَ مُتْرَفُوهَآ إِنَّا وَجَدْنَآ ءَابَآءَنَا عَلَىٰٓ أُمَّةٖ وَإِنَّا عَلَىٰٓ ءَاثٰ۪رِهِم مُّقْتَدُونَۖ ﰕ

Wakadhâlika mâ arsalnâ min qablika fî qaryatim min nadhîrini llâ qâla mutrafûhâ innâ wajadnâ âbâ'anâ ‘alâ ummatin wa'innâ ‘alâ âthêrihim muqtadûn

Et c'est ainsi que Nous n'avons pas envoyé avant toi d'avertisseur en une cité, sans que ses gens aisés n'aient dit: «Nous avons trouvé nos ancêtres sur une religion et nous suivons leurs traces»

And similarly, We did not send before you any warner into a city except that its affluent said, "Indeed, we found our fathers upon a religion, and we are, in their footsteps, following

۞ قُلَ اَوَلَوْ جِئْتُكُم بِأَهْد۪ىٰ مِمَّا وَجَدتُّمْ عَلَيْهِ ءَابَآءَكُمْۖ قَالُوٓاْ إِنَّا بِمَآ أُرْسِلْتُم بِهِۦ كَٰفِرُونَۖ ﰖ

Qula walaw jî'tukum bi'ahdê mimmâ wajadttum ‘alayhi âbâ'akum qâlû innâ bimâ ursiltum bihî kâfirûn

Il dit: «Même si je viens à vous avec une meilleure direction que celle sur laquelle vous avez trouvé vos ancêtres?» Ils dirent: «Nous ne croyons pas au message avec lequel vous avez été envoyés»

[Each warner] said, "Even if I brought you better guidance than that [religion] upon which you found your fathers?" They said, "Indeed we, in that with which you were sent, are disbelievers

فَانتَقَمْنَا مِنْهُمْ فَانظُرْ كَيْفَ كَانَ عَٰقِبَةُ اُ۬لْمُكَذِّبِينَۖ ﰗ

Fântaqamnâ minhum fânzur kayfa kâna ‘âqibatu lmukadhdhibîn

Nous Nous vengeâmes d'eux. Regarde ce qu'il est advenu de ceux qui criaient au mensonge

So we took retribution from them; then see how was the end of the deniers

وَإِذْ قَالَ إِبْرَٰهِيمُ لِأَبِيهِ وَقَوْمِهِۦٓ إِنَّنِے بَرَآءٞ مِّمَّا تَعْبُدُونَ ﰘ

Wa'idh qâla ibrâhîmu li'abîhi waqawmihî innanî barâ'um mimmâ ta‘budûn

Et lorsqu'Abraham dit à son père et à son peuple: «Je désavoue totalement ce que vous adorez

And [mention, O Muhammad], when Abraham said to his father and his people, "Indeed, I am disassociated from that which you worship

إِلَّا اَ۬لذِے فَطَرَنِے فَإِنَّهُۥ سَيَهْدِينِۖ ﰙ

Illâ lladhî fataranî fa'innahû sayahdîn

à l'exception de Celui qui m'a créé, car c'est Lui en vérité qui me guidera»

Except for He who created me; and indeed, He will guide me

وَجَعَلَهَا كَلِمَةَۢ بَاقِيَةٗ فِے عَقِبِهِۦ لَعَلَّهُمْ يَرْجِعُونَۖ ﰚ

Waja‘alahâ kalimatam bâqiyatan fî ‘aqibihî la‘allahum yarji‘ûn

Et il en fit une parole qui devait se perpétuer parmi sa descendance. Peut-être reviendront-ils

And he made it a word remaining among his descendants that they might return [to it]

بَلْ مَتَّعْتُ هَٰٓؤُلَآءِ وَءَابَآءَهُمْ حَتَّىٰ جَآءَهُمُ اُ۬لْحَقُّ وَرَسُولٞ مُّبِينٞۖ ﰛ

Bal matta‘tu hâ'ulâ'i wa'âbâ'ahum hattâ jâ'ahumu lhaqqu warasûlum mubîn

Mais à ces gens ainsi qu'à leurs ancêtres J'ai accordé la jouissance jusqu'à ce que leur vinrent la Vérité (le Coran) et un Messager explicite

However, I gave enjoyment to these [people of Makkah] and their fathers until there came to them the truth and a clear Messenger

وَلَمَّا جَآءَهُمُ اُ۬لْحَقُّ قَالُواْ هَٰذَا سِحْرٞ وَإِنَّا بِهِۦ كَٰفِرُونَۖ ﰜ

Walammâ jâ'ahumu lhaqqu qâlû hâdhâ sihrun wa'innâ bihî kâfirûn

Et quand la Vérité leur vint, ils dirent: «C'est de la magie et nous n'y croyons pas»

But when the truth came to them, they said, "This is magic, and indeed we are, concerning it, disbelievers

وَقَالُواْ لَوْلَا نُزِّلَ هَٰذَا اَ۬لْقُرْءَانُ عَلَىٰ رَجُلٖ مِّنَ اَ۬لْقَرْيَتَيْنِ عَظِيمٍۖ ﰝ

Waqâlû lawlâ nuzzila hâdhâ lqur'ânu ‘alâ rajulim mina lqaryatayni ‘azîm

Et ils dirent: «Pourquoi n'a-t-on pas fait descendre ce Coran sur un haut personnage de l'une des deux cités?» (la Mecque et Tâ'îf)

And they said, "Why was this Qur'an not sent down upon a great man from [one of] the two cities

اَهُمْ يَقْسِمُونَ رَحْمَتَ رَبِّكَۖ نَحْنُ قَسَمْنَا بَيْنَهُم مَّعِيشَتَهُمْ فِے اِ۬لْحَيَوٰةِ اِ۬لدُّنْي۪ا وَرَفَعْنَا بَعْضَهُمْ فَوْقَ بَعْضٖ دَرَجَٰتٖ لِّيَتَّخِذَ بَعْضُهُم بَعْضاٗ سُخْرِيّاٗۖ وَرَحْمَتُ رَبِّكَ خَيْرٞ مِّمَّا يَجْمَعُونَۖ ﰞ

Ahum yaqsimûna rahmata rabbika nahnu qasamnâ baynahum ma‘îshatahum fî lhayawâti ddunyê warafa‘nâ ba‘dahum fawqa ba‘din darajâtil liyattakhidha ba‘duhum ba‘dan sukhriyyan warahmatu rabbika khayrum mimmâ yajma‘ûn

Est-ce eux qui distribuent la miséricorde de ton Seigneur? C'est Nous qui avons réparti entre eux leur subsistance dans la vie présente et qui les avons élevés en grades les uns sur les autres, afin que les uns prennent les autres à leur service. La miséricorde de ton Seigneur vaut mieux, cependant, que ce qu'ils amassent

Do they distribute the mercy of your Lord? It is We who have apportioned among them their livelihood in the life of this world and have raised some of them above others in degrees [of rank] that they may make use of one another for service. But the mercy of your Lord is better than whatever they accumulate

وَلَوْلَآ أَنْ يَّكُونَ اَ۬لنَّاسُ أُمَّةٗ وَٰحِدَةٗ لَّجَعَلْنَا لِمَنْ يَّكْفُرُ بِالرَّحْمَٰنِ لِبُيُوتِهِمْ سُقُفاٗ مِّن فِضَّةٖ وَمَعَارِجَ عَلَيْهَا يَظْهَرُونَ ﰟ

Walawlâ ay yakûna nnâsu ummatan wâhidatal laja‘alnâ limay yakfuru birrahmâni libuyûtihim suqufam min fiddatin wama‘ârija ‘alayhâ yazharûn

Si les hommes ne devaient pas constituer une seule communauté (mécréante), Nous aurions certes pourvu les maisons de ceux qui ne croient pas au Tout Miséricordieux, de toits d'argent avec des escaliers pour y monter

And if it were not that the people would become one community [of disbelievers], We would have made for those who disbelieve in the Most Merciful - for their houses - ceilings and stairways of silver upon which to mount

وَلِبُيُوتِهِمُۥٓ أَبْوَٰباٗ وَسُرُراً عَلَيْهَا يَتَّكِـُٔونَ ﰠ

Walibuyûtihimû abwâban wasururan ‘alayhâ yattaki'ûn

(Nous aurions pourvu) leurs maisons de portes et de divans où ils s'accouderaient

And for their houses - doors and couches [of silver] upon which to recline

وَزُخْرُفاٗۖ وَإِن كُلُّ ذَٰلِكَ لَمَا مَتَٰعُ اُ۬لْحَيَوٰةِ اِ۬لدُّنْي۪اۖ وَالَاخِرَةُ عِندَ رَبِّكَ لِلْمُتَّقِينَۖ ﰡ

Wazukhrufan wa'in kullu dhâlika lamâ matâ‘u lhayawâti ddunyê walakhiratu ‘inda rabbika lilmuttaqîn

ainsi que des ornements. Et tout cela ne serait que jouissance temporaire de la vie d'ici-bas, alors que l'au-delà, auprès de ton Seigneur, est pour les pieux

And gold ornament. But all that is not but the enjoyment of worldly life. And the Hereafter with your Lord is for the righteous

وَمَنْ يَّعْشُ عَن ذِكْرِ اِ۬لرَّحْمَٰنِ نُقَيِّضْ لَهُۥ شَيْطَٰناٗ فَهُوَ لَهُۥ قَرِينٞۖ ﰢ

Wamay ya‘shu ‘an dhikri rrahmâni nuqayyid lahû shaytânan fahuwa lahû qarîn

Et quiconque s'aveugle (et s'écarte) du rappel du Tout Miséricordieux, Nous lui désignons un diable qui devient son compagnon inséparable

And whoever is blinded from remembrance of the Most Merciful - We appoint for him a devil, and he is to him a companion

وَإِنَّهُمْ لَيَصُدُّونَهُمْ عَنِ اِ۬لسَّبِيلِ وَيَحْسِبُونَ أَنَّهُم مُّهْتَدُونَۖ ﰣ

Wa'innahum layasuddûnahum ‘ani ssabîli wayahsibûna annahum muhtadûn

Ils [Les diables] détournent certes [les hommes] du droit chemin, tandis que ceux-ci s'estiment être bien guidés

And indeed, the devils avert them from the way [of guidance] while they think that they are [rightly] guided

حَتَّىٰٓ إِذَا جَآءَٰنَا قَالَ يَٰلَيْتَ بَيْنِے وَبَيْنَكَ بُعْدَ اَ۬لْمَشْرِقَيْنِۖ فَبِيسَ اَ۬لْقَرِينُۖ ﰤ

Hattâ idhâ jâ'ânâ qâla yâlayta baynî wabaynaka bu‘da lmashriqayni fabîsa lqarîn

Lorsque cet [homme] vient à Nous, il dira [à son démon]: «Hélas! Que n'y a-t-il entre toi et moi la distance entre les deux orients [l'Est et l'Ouest]» - Quel mauvais compagnon [que tu es]

Until, when he comes to Us [at Judgement], he says [to his companion], "Oh, I wish there was between me and you the distance between the east and west - how wretched a companion

وَلَنْ يَّنفَعَكُمُ اُ۬لْيَوْمَ إِذ ظَّلَمْتُمُۥٓ أَنَّكُمْ فِے اِ۬لْعَذَابِ مُشْتَرِكُونَۖ ﰥ

Walay yanfa‘akumu lyawma idh zalamtumû annakum fî l‘adhâbi mushtarikûn

Il ne vous profitera point ce jour-là - du moment que vous avez été injustes - que vous soyez associés dans le châtiment

And never will it benefit you that Day, when you have wronged, that you are [all] sharing in the punishment

أَفَأَنتَ تُسْمِعُ اُ۬لصُّمَّ أَوْ تَهْدِے اِ۬لْعُمْيَ وَمَن كَانَ فِے ضَلَٰلٖ مُّبِينٖۖ ﰦ

Afa'anta tusmi‘u ssumma aw tahdî l‘umya waman kâna fî dalâlim mubîn

Est-ce donc toi qui fait entendre les sourds ou qui guide les aveugles et ceux qui sont dans un égarement évident

Then will you make the deaf hear, [O Muhammad], or guide the blind or he who is in clear error

فَإِمَّا نَذْهَبَنَّ بِكَ فَإِنَّا مِنْهُم مُّنتَقِمُونَ ﰧ

Fa'immâ nadhhabanna bika fa'innâ minhum muntaqimûn

Soit que Nous t'enlevons [te ferons mourir] et alors Nous Nous vengerons d'eux

And whether [or not] We take you away [in death], indeed, We will take retribution upon them

أَوْ نُرِيَنَّكَ اَ۬لذِے وَعَدْنَٰهُمْ فَإِنَّا عَلَيْهِم مُّقْتَدِرُونَۖ ﰨ

Aw nuriyannaka lladhî wa‘adnâhum fa'innâ ‘alayhim muqtadirûn

ou bien que Nous te ferons voir ce que Nous leur avons promis [le châtiment]; car Nous avons sur eux un pouvoir certain

Or whether [or not] We show you that which We have promised them, indeed, We are Perfect in Ability

۞ فَاسْتَمْسِكْ بِالذِےٓ أُوحِيَ إِلَيْكَۖ إِنَّكَ عَلَىٰ صِرَٰطٖ مُّسْتَقِيمٖۖ ﰩ

Fastamsik billadhî ûhiya ilayka innaka ‘alâ sirâtim mustaqîm

Tiens fermement à ce qui t'a été révélé car tu es sur le droit chemin

So adhere to that which is revealed to you. Indeed, you are on a straight path

وَإِنَّهُۥ لَذِكْرٞ لَّكَ وَلِقَوْمِكَۖ وَسَوْفَ تُسْـَٔلُونَۖ ﰪ

Wa'innahû ladhikrul laka waliqawmika wasawfa tus'alûn

C'est certainement un rappel [le Coran] pour toi et ton peuple. Et vous en serez interrogés

And indeed, it is a remembrance for you and your people, and you [all] are going to be questioned

وَسْـَٔلْ مَنَ اَرْسَلْنَا مِن قَبْلِكَ مِن رُّسُلِنَآۖ أَجَعَلْنَا مِن دُونِ اِ۬لرَّحْمَٰنِ ءَالِهَةٗ يُعْبَدُونَۖ ﰫ

Was'al mana rsalnâ min qablika mir rusulinâ aja‘alnâ min dûni rrahmâni âlihatan yu‘badûn

Et demande à ceux de Nos messagers que Nous avons envoyés avant toi, si Nous avons institué, en dehors du Tout Miséricordieux, des divinités à adorer

And ask those We sent before you of Our messengers; have We made besides the Most Merciful deities to be worshipped

وَلَقَدَ اَرْسَلْنَا مُوس۪ىٰ بِـَٔايَٰتِنَآ إِلَىٰ فِرْعَوْنَ وَمَلَإِيْهِۦ فَقَالَ إِنِّے رَسُولُ رَبِّ اِ۬لْعَٰلَمِينَۖ ﰬ

Walaqada rsalnâ mûsê bi'âyâtinâ ilâ fir‘awna wamala'iyhî faqâla innî rasûlu rabbi l‘âlamîn

Nous avons effectivement envoyé Moïse avec Nos miracles, à Pharaon et à ses notables. Il dit: «Je suis le Messager du Seigneur de l'univers»

And certainly did We send Moses with Our signs to Pharaoh and his establishment, and he said, "Indeed, I am the messenger of the Lord of the worlds

فَلَمَّا جَآءَهُم بِـَٔايَٰتِنَآ إِذَا هُم مِّنْهَا يَضْحَكُونَۖ ﰭ

Falammâ jâ'ahum bi'âyâtinâ idhâ hum minhâ yadhakûn

Puis, lorsqu'il vint à eux avec Nos miracles, voilà qu'ils en rirent

But when he brought them Our signs, at once they laughed at them

وَمَا نُرِيهِم مِّنَ اٰيَةٍ اِلَّا هِيَ أَكْبَرُ مِنُ ا۟خْتِهَاۖ وَأَخَذْنَٰهُم بِالْعَذَابِ لَعَلَّهُمْ يَرْجِعُونَۖ ﰮ

Wamâ nurîhim mina âyatini llâ hiya akbaru minu ukhtihâ wa'akhadhnâhum bil‘adhâbi la‘allahum yarji‘ûn

Chaque miracle que Nous leur montrions était plus probant que son précédent. Et Nous les saisîmes par le châtiment, peut-être reviendront-ils [vers Nous]

And We showed them not a sign except that it was greater than its sister, and We seized them with affliction that perhaps they might return [to faith]

وَقَالُواْ يَٰٓأَيُّهَ اَ۬لسَّاحِرُ اُ۟دْعُ لَنَا رَبَّكَ بِمَا عَهِدَ عِندَكَ إِنَّنَا لَمُهْتَدُونَۖ ﰯ

Waqâlû yâ'ayyuha ssâhiru d‘u lanâ rabbaka bimâ ‘ahida ‘indaka innanâ lamuhtadûn

Et ils dirent: «O magicien! Implore pour nous ton Seigneur au nom de l'engagement qu'Il a pris envers toi. Nous suivrons le droit chemin»

And they said [to Moses], "O magician, invoke for us your Lord by what He has promised you. Indeed, we will be guided

فَلَمَّا كَشَفْنَا عَنْهُمُ اُ۬لْعَذَابَ إِذَا هُمْ يَنكُثُونَۖ ﰰ

Falammâ kashafnâ ‘anhumu l‘adhâba idhâ hum yankuthûn

Puis quand Nous eûmes écarté d'eux le châtiment, voilà qu'ils violèrent leurs engagements

But when We removed from them the affliction, at once they broke their word

وَنَاد۪ىٰ فِرْعَوْنُ فِے قَوْمِهِۦ قَالَ يَٰقَوْمِ أَلَيْسَ لِے مُلْكُ مِصْرَ وَهَٰذِهِ اِ۬لَانْهَٰرُ تَجْرِے مِن تَحْتِيَۖ أَفَلَا تُبْصِرُونَۖ ﰱ

Wanâdê fir‘awnu fî qawmihî qâla yâqawmi alaysa lî mulku misra wahâdhihi lanhâru tajrî min tahtiya afalâ tubsirûn

Et Pharaon fit une proclamation à son peuple et dit: «O mon peuple! Le royaume de Misr [l'Egypte] ne m'appartient-il pas ainsi que ces canaux qui coulent à mes pieds? N'observez-vous donc pas

And Pharaoh called out among his people; he said, "O my people, does not the kingdom of Egypt belong to me, and these rivers flowing beneath me; then do you not see

أَمَ اَنَا خَيْرٞ مِّنْ هَٰذَا اَ۬لذِے هُوَ مَهِينٞ ﰲ

Ama nâ khayrum min hâdhâ lladhî huwa mahîn

Ne suis-je pas meilleur que ce misérable qui sait à peine s'exprimer

Or am I [not] better than this one who is insignificant and hardly makes himself clear

وَلَا يَكَادُ يُبِينُۖ ﰳ

Walâ yakâdu yubîn

فَلَوْلَآ أُلْقِيَ عَلَيْهِ أَسَٰوِرَةٞ مِّن ذَهَبٍ اَوْ جَآءَ مَعَهُ اُ۬لْمَلَٰٓئِكَةُ مُقْتَرِنِينَۖ ﰴ

Falawlâ ulqiya ‘alayhi asâwiratum min dhahabina w jâ'a ma‘ahu lmalâ'ikatu muqtarinîn

Pourquoi ne lui a-t-on pas lancé des bracelets d'or? Pourquoi les Anges ne l'ont-ils pas accompagné?»

Then why have there not been placed upon him bracelets of gold or come with him the angels in conjunction

فَاسْتَخَفَّ قَوْمَهُۥ فَأَطَاعُوهُۖ إِنَّهُمْ كَانُواْ قَوْماٗ فَٰسِقِينَۖ ﰵ

Fastakhaffa qawmahû fa'atâ‘ûhu innahum kânû qawman fâsiqîn

Ainsi chercha-t-il à étourdir son peuple et ainsi lui obéirent-ils car ils étaient des gens pervers

So he bluffed his people, and they obeyed him. Indeed, they were [themselves] a people defiantly disobedient [of Allah]

فَلَمَّآ ءَاسَفُونَا اَ۪نتَقَمْنَا مِنْهُمْ فَأَغْرَقْنَٰهُمُۥٓ أَجْمَعِينَ ﰶ

Falammâ âsafûnâ ntaqamnâ minhum fa'aghraqnâhumû ajma‘în

Puis lorsqu'ils Nous eurent irrité, Nous Nous vengeâmes d'eux et les noyâmes tous

And when they angered Us, We took retribution from them and drowned them all

فَجَعَلْنَٰهُمْ سَلَفاٗ وَمَثَلاٗ لِّلَاخِرِينَۖ ﰷ

Faja‘alnâhum salafan wamathalal lilâkhirîn

Nous fîmes d'eux un antécédant et un exemple [une leçon] pour la postérité

And We made them a precedent and an example for the later peoples

وَلَمَّا ضُرِبَ اَ۪بْنُ مَرْيَمَ مَثَلاً اِذَا قَوْمُكَ مِنْهُ يَصُدُّونَۖ ﰸ

Walammâ duriba bnu maryama mathalani dhâ qawmuka minhu yasuddûn

Quand on cite l'exemple du fils de Marie, ton peuple s'en détourne

And when the son of Mary was presented as an example, immediately your people laughed aloud

وَقَالُوٓاْ ءَاٰ۬لِهَتُنَا خَيْرٌ اَمْ هُوَۖ مَا ضَرَبُوهُ لَكَ إِلَّا جَدَلاَۖ بَلْ هُمْ قَوْمٌ خَصِمُونَۖ ﰹ

Waqâlû âlihatunâ khayruna m huwa mâ darabûhu laka illâ jadala bal hum qawmun khasimûn

en disant: «Nos dieux sont-ils meilleurs, ou bien lui?» Ce n'est que par polémique qu'ils te le citent comme exemple. Ce sont plutôt des gens chicaniers

And they said, "Are your gods better, or is he?" They did not present the comparison except for [mere] argument. But, [in fact], they are a people prone to dispute

إِنْ هُوَ إِلَّا عَبْدٌ اَنْعَمْنَا عَلَيْهِ وَجَعَلْنَٰهُ مَثَلاٗ لِّبَنِےٓ إِسْرَآءِيلَۖ ﰺ

In huwa illâ ‘abduna n‘amnâ ‘alayhi waja‘alnâhu mathalal libanî isrâ'îl

Il (Jésus) n'était qu'un Serviteur que Nous avions comblé de bienfaits et que Nous avions désigné en exemple aux Enfants d'Israël

Jesus was not but a servant upon whom We bestowed favor, and We made him an example for the Children of Israel

وَلَوْ نَشَآءُ لَجَعَلْنَا مِنكُم مَّلَٰٓئِكَةٗ فِے اِ۬لَارْضِ يَخْلُفُونَۖ ﰻ

Walaw nashâ'u laja‘alnâ minkum malâ'ikatan fî lardi yakhlufûn

Si Nous voulions, Nous ferions de vous des Anges qui vous succéderaient sur la terre

And if We willed, We could have made [instead] of you angels succeeding [one another] on the earth

وَإِنَّهُۥ لَعِلْمٞ لِّلسَّاعَةِ فَلَا تَمْتَرُنَّ بِهَاۖ وَاتَّبِعُونِ هَٰذَا صِرَٰطٞ مُّسْتَقِيمٞۖ ﰼ

Wa'innahû la‘ilmul lissâ‘ati falâ tamtarunna bihâ wattabi‘ûni hâdhâ sirâtum mustaqîm

Il sera un signe au sujet de l'Heure. N'en doutez point. Et suivez-moi: voilà un droit chemin

And indeed, Jesus will be [a sign for] knowledge of the Hour, so be not in doubt of it, and follow Me. This is a straight path

وَلَا يَصُدَّنَّكُمُ اُ۬لشَّيْطَٰنُۖ إِنَّهُۥ لَكُمْ عَدُوّٞ مُّبِينٞۖ ﰽ

Walâ yasuddannakumu shshaytânu innahû lakum ‘aduwwum mubîn

Que le Diable ne vous détourne point! Car il est pour vous un ennemi déclaré

And never let Satan avert you. Indeed, he is to you a clear enemy

۞ وَلَمَّا جَآءَ عِيس۪ىٰ بِالْبَيِّنَٰتِ قَالَ قَدْ جِئْتُكُم بِالْحِكْمَةِ وَلِأُبَيِّنَ لَكُم بَعْضَ اَ۬لذِے تَخْتَلِفُونَ فِيهِۖ فَاتَّقُواْ اُ۬للَّهَ وَأَطِيعُونِۖ ﰾ

Walammâ jâ'a ‘îsê bilbayyinâti qâla qad jî'tukum bilhikmati wali'ubayyina lakum ba‘da lladhî takhtalifûna fîhi fattaqû llâha wa'atî‘ûn

Et quand Jésus apporta les preuves, il dit: «Je suis venu à vous avec la sagesse et pour vous expliquer certains de vos sujets de désaccord. Craignez Allah donc et obéissez-moi

And when Jesus brought clear proofs, he said, "I have come to you with wisdom and to make clear to you some of that over which you differ, so fear Allah and obey me

إِنَّ اَ۬للَّهَ هُوَ رَبِّے وَرَبُّكُمْ فَاعْبُدُوهُۖ هَٰذَا صِرَٰطٞ مُّسْتَقِيمٞۖ ﰿ

Inna llâha huwa rabbî warabbukum fa‘budûhu hâdhâ sirâtum mustaqîm

Allah est en vérité mon Seigneur et votre Seigneur. Adorez-Le donc. Voilà un droit chemin»

Indeed, Allah is my Lord and your Lord, so worship Him. This is a straight path

فَاخْتَلَفَ اَ۬لَاحْزَابُ مِنۢ بَيْنِهِمْۖ فَوَيْلٞ لِّلذِينَ ظَلَمُواْ مِنْ عَذَابِ يَوْمٍۖ اَلِيمٍۖ ﱀ

Fakhtalafa lahzâbu mim baynihim fawaylul lilladhîna zalamû min ‘adhâbi yawmina lîm

Mais les factions divergèrent entre elles. Malheur donc aux injustes du châtiment d'un jour douloureux

But the denominations from among them differed [and separated], so woe to those who have wronged from the punishment of a painful Day

هَلْ يَنظُرُونَ إِلَّا اَ۬لسَّاعَةَ أَن تَاتِيَهُم بَغْتَةٗ وَهُمْ لَا يَشْعُرُونَۖ ﱁ

Hal yanzurûna illâ ssâ‘ata an tâtiyahum baghtatan wahum lâ yash‘urûn

Attendent-ils seulement que l'Heure leur vienne à l'improviste, sans qu'ils ne s'en rendent compte

Are they waiting except for the Hour to come upon them suddenly while they perceive not

اَ۬لَاخِلَّآءُ يَوْمَئِذِۢ بَعْضُهُمْ لِبَعْضٍ عَدُوٌّ اِلَّا اَ۬لْمُتَّقِينَۖ ﱂ

Alakhillâ'u yawma'idhim ba‘duhum liba‘din ‘aduwwuni llâ lmuttaqîn

Les amis, ce jour-là, seront ennemis les uns des autres; excepté les pieux

Close friends, that Day, will be enemies to each other, except for the righteous

يَٰعِبَادِے لَا خَوْفٌ عَلَيْكُمُ اُ۬لْيَوْمَ وَلَآ أَنتُمْ تَحْزَنُونَۖ ﱃ

Yâ‘ibâdî lâ khawfun ‘alaykumu lyawma walâ antum tahzanûn

«O Mes serviteurs! Vous ne devez avoir aucune crainte aujourd'hui; vous ne serez point affligés

[To whom Allah will say], "O My servants, no fear will there be concerning you this Day, nor will you grieve

اَ۬لذِينَ ءَامَنُواْ بِـَٔايَٰتِنَا وَكَانُواْ مُسْلِمِينَ ﱄ

Alladhîna âmanû bi'âyâtinâ wakânû muslimîn

Ceux qui croient en Nos signes et sont musulmans

[You] who believed in Our verses and were Muslims

اَ۟دْخُلُواْ اُ۬لْجَنَّةَ أَنتُمْ وَأَزْوَٰجُكُمْ تُحْبَرُونَۖ ﱅ

Udkhulû ljannata antum wa'azwâjukum tuhbarûn

«Entrez au Paradis, vous et vos épouses, vous y serez fêtés»

Enter Paradise, you and your kinds, delighted

يُطَافُ عَلَيْهِم بِصِحَافٖ مِّن ذَهَبٖ وَأَكْوَابٖۖ وَفِيهَا مَا تَشْتَهِيهِ اِ۬لَانفُسُ وَتَلَذُّ اُ۬لَاعْيُنُۖ وَأَنتُمْ فِيهَا خَٰلِدُونَۖ ﱆ

Yutâfu ‘alayhim bisihâfim min dhahabin wa'akwâbin wafîhâ mâ tashtahîhi lanfusu wataladhdhu la‘yunu wa'antum fîhâ khâlidûn

On fera circuler parmi eux des plats d'or et des coupes; et il y aura là [pour eux] tout ce que les âmes désirent et ce qui réjouit les yeux;» - et vous y demeurerez éternellement

Circulated among them will be plates and vessels of gold. And therein is whatever the souls desire and [what] delights the eyes, and you will abide therein eternally

وَتِلْكَ اَ۬لْجَنَّةُ اُ۬لتِےٓ أُورِثْتُمُوهَا بِمَا كُنتُمْ تَعْمَلُونَۖ ﱇ

Watilka ljannatu llatî ûrithtumûhâ bimâ kuntum ta‘malûn

Tel est le Paradis qu'on vous fait hériter pour ce que vous faisiez

And that is Paradise which you are made to inherit for what you used to do

لَكُمْ فِيهَا فَٰكِهَةٞ كَثِيرَةٞ مِّنْهَا تَاكُلُونَۖ ﱈ

Lakum fîhâ fâkihatun kathîratum minhâ tâkulûn

Il y aura là pour vous beaucoup de fruits dont vous mangerez»

For you therein is much fruit from which you will eat

إِنَّ اَ۬لْمُجْرِمِينَ فِے عَذَابِ جَهَنَّمَ خَٰلِدُونَۖ ﱉ

Inna lmujrimîna fî ‘adhâbi jahannama khâlidûn

Quant aux criminels, ils demeureront éternellement dans le châtiment de l'Enfer

Indeed, the criminals will be in the punishment of Hell, abiding eternally

لَا يُفَتَّرُ عَنْهُمْ وَهُمْ فِيهِ مُبْلِسُونَۖ ﱊ

Lâ yufattaru ‘anhum wahum fîhi mublisûn

qui ne sera jamais interrompu pour eux et où ils seront en désespoir

It will not be allowed to subside for them, and they, therein, are in despair

وَمَا ظَلَمْنَٰهُمْۖ وَلَٰكِن كَانُواْ هُمُ اُ۬لظَّٰلِمِينَۖ ﱋ

Wamâ zalamnâhum walâkin kânû humu zzâlimîn

Nous ne leur avons fait aucun tort, mais c'étaient eux les injustes

And We did not wrong them, but it was they who were the wrongdoers

وَنَادَوْاْ يَٰمَٰلِكُ لِيَقْضِ عَلَيْنَا رَبُّكَۖ قَالَ إِنَّكُم مَّٰكِثُونَۖ ﱌ

Wanâdaw yâmâliku liyaqdi ‘alaynâ rabbuka qâla innakum makithûn

et ils crieront: «O Mâlik! Que ton Seigneur nous achève!» Il dira: «En vérité, vous êtes pour y demeurer [éternellement]»

And they will call, "O Malik, let your Lord put an end to us!" He will say, "Indeed, you will remain

لَقَدْ جِئْنَٰكُم بِالْحَقِّۖ وَلَٰكِنَّ أَكْثَرَكُمْ لِلْحَقِّ كَٰرِهُونَۖ ﱍ

Laqad jî'nâkum bilhaqqi walâkinna aktharakum lilhaqqi kârihûn

«Certes, Nous vous avions apporté la Vérité; mais la plupart d'entre vous détestaient la Vérité»

We had certainly brought you the truth, but most of you, to the truth, were averse

أَمَ اَبْرَمُوٓاْ أَمْراٗ فَإِنَّا مُبْرِمُونَۖ ﱎ

Ama bramû amran fa'innâ mubrimûn

Ont-ils pris quelque décision [entre eux]? Car c'est Nous qui décidons

Or have they devised [some] affair? But indeed, We are devising [a plan]

أَمْ يَحْسِبُونَ أَنَّا لَا نَسْمَعُ سِرَّهُمْ وَنَجْو۪يٰهُم بَل۪ىٰۖ وَرُسُلُنَا لَدَيْهِمْ يَكْتُبُونَۖ ﱏ

Am yahsibûna annâ lâ nasma‘u sirrahum wanajwêhum balê warusulunâ ladayhim yaktubûn

Ou bien escomptent-ils que Nous n'entendons pas leur secret ni leurs délibérations? Mais si! Nos Anges prennent note auprès d'eux

Or do they think that We hear not their secrets and their private conversations? Yes, [We do], and Our messengers are with them recording

قُلِ اِن كَانَ لِلرَّحْمَٰنِ وَلَدٞۖ فَأَنَآ أَوَّلُ اُ۬لْعَٰبِدِينَۖ ﱐ

Quli n kâna lirrahmâni waladun fa'anâ awwalu l‘âbidîn

Dis: «Si le Tout Miséricordieux avait un enfant, alors je serais le premier à l'adorer»

Say, [O Muhammad], "If the Most Merciful had a son, then I would be the first of [his] worshippers

سُبْحَٰنَ رَبِّ اِ۬لسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَالَارْضِ رَبِّ اِ۬لْعَرْشِ عَمَّا يَصِفُونَۖ ﱑ

Subhâna rabbi ssamâwâti walardi rabbi l‘arshi ‘ammâ yasifûn

Gloire au Seigneur des cieux et de la terre, Seigneur du Trône; Il transcende ce qu'ils décrivent

Exalted is the Lord of the heavens and the earth, Lord of the Throne, above what they describe

فَذَرْهُمْ يَخُوضُواْ وَيَلْعَبُواْ حَتَّىٰ يُلَٰقُواْ يَوْمَهُمُ اُ۬لذِے يُوعَدُونَۖ ﱒ

Fadharhum yakhûdû wayal‘abû hattâ yulâqû yawmahumu lladhî yû‘adûn

Laisse-les donc s'enfoncer dans leur fausseté et s'amuser jusqu'à ce qu'ils rencontrent le jour qui leur est promis

So leave them to converse vainly and amuse themselves until they meet their Day which they are promised

وَهُوَ اَ۬لذِے فِے اِ۬لسَّمَآءِ الَٰهٞ وَفِے اِ۬لَارْضِ إِلَٰهٞۖ وَهُوَ اَ۬لْحَكِيمُ اُ۬لْعَلِيمُۖ ﱓ

Wahuwa lladhî fî ssamâ'i âlâhun wafî lardi ilâhun wahuwa lhakîmu l‘alîm

C'est Lui qui est Dieu dans le ciel et Dieu sur terre; et c'est Lui le Sage, l'Omniscient

And it is Allah who is [the only] deity in the heaven, and on the earth [the only] deity. And He is the Wise, the Knowing

۞ وَتَبَٰرَكَ اَ۬لذِے لَهُۥ مُلْكُ اُ۬لسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَالَارْضِ وَمَا بَيْنَهُمَاۖ وَعِندَهُۥ عِلْمُ اُ۬لسَّاعَةِۖ وَإِلَيْهِ تُرْجَعُونَۖ ﱔ

Watabâraka lladhî lahû mulku ssamâwâti walardi wamâ baynahumâ wa‘indahû ‘ilmu ssâ‘ati wa'ilayhi turja‘ûn

Et béni soit Celui à qui appartient la souveraineté des cieux et de la terre et de ce qui est entre eux. Il détient la science de l'Heure. Et c'est vers Lui que vous serez ramenés

And blessed is He to whom belongs the dominion of the heavens and the earth and whatever is between them and with whom is knowledge of the Hour and to whom you will be returned

وَلَا يَمْلِكُ اُ۬لذِينَ يَدْعُونَ مِن دُونِهِ اِ۬لشَّفَٰعَةَ إِلَّا مَن شَهِدَ بِالْحَقِّ وَهُمْ يَعْلَمُونَۖ ﱕ

Walâ yamliku lladhîna yad‘ûna min dûnihi shshafâ‘ata illâ man shahida bilhaqqi wahum ya‘lamûn

Et ceux qu'ils invoquent en dehors de Lui n'ont aucun pouvoir d'intercession, à l'exception de ceux qui auront témoigné de la vérité en pleine connaissance de cause

And those they invoke besides Him do not possess [power of] intercession; but only those who testify to the truth [can benefit], and they know

وَلَئِن سَأَلْتَهُم مَّنْ خَلَقَهُمْ لَيَقُولُنَّ اَ۬للَّهُۖ فَأَنّ۪ىٰ يُوفَكُونَۖ ﱖ

Wala'in sa'altahum man khalaqahum layaqûlunna llâhu fa'annê yûfakûn

Et si tu leur demandes qui les a créés, ils diront très certainement: «Allah». Comment se fait-il donc qu'ils se détournent

And if you asked them who created them, they would surely say, "Allah." So how are they deluded

وَقِيلَهُۥ يَٰرَبِّ إِنَّ هَٰٓؤُلَآءِ قَوْمٞ لَّا يُومِنُونَۖ ﱗ

Waqîlahû yârabbi inna hâ'ulâ'i qawmul lâ yûminûn

Et sa parole (la parole du Prophète à Allah): «Seigneur, ce sont là des gens qui ne croient pas»

And [Allah acknowledges] his saying, "O my Lord, indeed these are a people who do not believe

فَاصْفَحْ عَنْهُمْ وَقُلْ سَلَٰمٞۖ فَسَوْفَ تَعْلَمُونَۖ ﱘ

Fasfah ‘anhum waqul salâmun fasawfa ta‘lamûn

Et bien, éloigne-toi d'eux (pardonne-leur); et dis: «Salut!» Car ils sauront bientôt

So turn aside from them and say, "Peace." But they are going to know
