ح۪مِٓۖ وَالْكِتَٰبِ اِ۬لْمُبِينِ ﰀ

Hâ mîm walkitâbi lmubîn

H'â, Mîm Par le Livre (le Coran) explicite

Ha, Meem By the clear Book

إِنَّآ أَنزَلْنَٰهُ فِے لَيْلَةٖ مُّبَٰرَكَةٍ اِنَّا كُنَّا مُنذِرِينَۖ ﰁ

Innâ anzalnâhu fî laylatim mubârakatini nnâ kunnâ mundhirîn

Nous l'avons fait descendre en une nuit bénie, Nous sommes en vérité Celui qui avertit

Indeed, We sent it down during a blessed night. Indeed, We were to warn [mankind]

فِيهَا يُفْرَقُ كُلُّ أَمْرٍ حَكِيمٍ ﰂ

Fîhâ yufraqu kullu amrin hakîm

durant laquelle est décidé tout ordre sage

On that night is made distinct every precise matter

اَمْراٗ مِّنْ عِندِنَآۖ إِنَّا كُنَّا مُرْسِلِينَ ﰃ

Amram min ‘indinâ innâ kunnâ mursilîn

c'est là un commandement venant de Nous. C'est Nous qui envoyons [les Messagers]

[Every] matter [proceeding] from Us. Indeed, We were to send [a messenger]

رَحْمَةٗ مِّن رَّبِّكَۖ إِنَّهُۥ هُوَ اَ۬لسَّمِيعُ اُ۬لْعَلِيمُۖ ﰄ

Rahmatam mir rabbika innahû huwa ssamî‘u l‘alîm

à titre de miséricorde de la part de ton Seigneur, car c'est Lui l'Audient, l'Omniscient

As mercy from your Lord. Indeed, He is the Hearing, the Knowing

رَبُّ اُ۬لسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَالَارْضِ وَمَا بَيْنَهُمَآ إِن كُنتُم مُّوقِنِينَۖ ﰅ

Rabbu ssamâwâti walardi wamâ baynahumâ in kuntum mûqinîn

Seigneur des cieux et de la terre et de ce qui est entre eux, si seulement vous pouviez en avoir la conviction

Lord of the heavens and the earth and that between them, if you would be certain

لَآ إِلَٰهَ إِلَّا هُوَۖ يُحْيِۦ وَيُمِيتُۖ رَبُّكُمْ وَرَبُّ ءَابَآئِكُمُ اُ۬لَاوَّلِينَۖ ﰆ

Lâ ilâha illâ huwa yuhyî wayumîtu rabbukum warabbu âbâ'ikumu lawwalîn

Point de divinité à part Lui. Il donne la vie et donne la mort, et Il est votre Seigneur et le Seigneur de vos premiers ancêtres

There is no deity except Him; He gives life and causes death. [He is] your Lord and the Lord of your first forefathers

بَلْ هُمْ فِے شَكّٖ يَلْعَبُونَۖ ﰇ

Bal hum fî shakkin yal‘abûn

Mais ces gens-là, dans le doute, s'amusent

But they are in doubt, amusing themselves

فَارْتَقِبْ يَوْمَ تَاتِے اِ۬لسَّمَآءُ بِدُخَانٖ مُّبِينٖ ﰈ

Fartaqib yawma tâtî ssamâ'u bidukhânim mubîn

Eh bien, attends le jour où le ciel apportera une fumée visible

Then watch for the Day when the sky will bring a visible smoke

يَغْشَى اَ۬لنَّاسَۖ هَٰذَا عَذَابٌ اَلِيمٞۖ ﰉ

Yaghshâ nnâsa hâdhâ ‘adhâbuna lîm

qui couvrira les gens. Ce sera un châtiment douloureux

Covering the people; this is a painful torment

رَّبَّنَا اَ۪كْشِفْ عَنَّا اَ۬لْعَذَابَ إِنَّا مُومِنُونَۖ ﰊ

Rabbanâ kshif ‘annâ l‘adhâba innâ mûminûn

«Seigneur, éloigne de nous le châtiment. Car, [à présent] nous croyons»

[They will say], "Our Lord, remove from us the torment; indeed, we are believers

أَنّ۪ىٰ لَهُمُ اُ۬لذِّكْر۪ىٰ وَقَدْ جَآءَهُمْ رَسُولٞ مُّبِينٞ ﰋ

Annê lahumu dhdhikrê waqad jâ'ahum rasûlum mubîn

D'où leur vient cette prise de conscience alors qu'un Messager explicite leur est déjà venu

How will there be for them a reminder [at that time]? And there had come to them a clear Messenger

ثُمَّ تَوَلَّوْاْ عَنْهُ وَقَالُواْ مُعَلَّمٞ مَّجْنُونٌۖ ﰌ

Thumma tawallaw ‘anhu waqâlû mu‘allamum majnûn

Puis ils s'en détournèrent en disant: «C'est un homme instruit [par d'autres], un possédé»

Then they turned away from him and said, "[He was] taught [and is] a madman

اِنَّا كَاشِفُواْ اُ۬لْعَذَابِ قَلِيلاًۖ اِنَّكُمْ عَآئِدُونَۖ ﰍ

Innâ kâshifû l‘adhâbi qalîlani nnakum ‘â'idûn

Nous dissiperons le châtiment pour peu de temps; car vous récidiverez

Indeed, We will remove the torment for a little. Indeed, you [disbelievers] will return [to disbelief]

يَوْمَ نَبْطِشُ اُ۬لْبَطْشَةَ اَ۬لْكُبْر۪ىٰٓۖ إِنَّا مُنتَقِمُونَۖ ﰎ

Yawma nabtishu lbatshata lkubrê innâ muntaqimûn

Le jour où Nous userons de la plus grande violence et Nous Nous vengerons

The Day We will strike with the greatest assault, indeed, We will take retribution

وَلَقَدْ فَتَنَّا قَبْلَهُمْ قَوْمَ فِرْعَوْنَ وَجَآءَهُمْ رَسُولٞ كَرِيمٌ ﰏ

Walaqad fatannâ qablahum qawma fir‘awna wajâ'ahum rasûlun karîm

Et avant eux Nous avons déjà éprouvé le peuple de Pharaon, quand un noble Messager leur était venu

And We had already tried before them the people of Pharaoh, and there came to them a noble messenger

اَنَ اَدُّوٓاْ إِلَيَّ عِبَادَ اَ۬للَّهِ إِنِّے لَكُمْ رَسُولٌ اَمِينٞ ﰐ

Ana ddû ilayya ‘ibâda llâhi innî lakum rasûluna mîn

[leur disant]: «Livrez-moi les serviteurs d'Allah! Je suis pour vous un Messager digne de confiance

[Saying], "Render to me the servants of Allah. Indeed, I am to you a trustworthy messenger

وَأَن لَّا تَعْلُواْ عَلَى اَ۬للَّهِ إِنِّيَ ءَاتِيكُم بِسُلْطَٰنٖ مُّبِينٖ ﰑ

Wa'al lâ ta‘lû ‘alâ llâhi inniya âtîkum bisultânim mubîn

Ne vous montrez pas hautains vis-à-vis d'Allah, car je vous apporte une preuve évidente

And [saying], "Be not haughty with Allah. Indeed, I have come to you with clear authority

وَإِنِّے عُذْتُ بِرَبِّے وَرَبِّكُمُۥٓ أَن تَرْجُمُونِۦ ﰒ

Wa'innî ‘udhtu birabbî warabbikumû an tarjumûnî

Et je cherche protection auprès de mon Seigneur et votre Seigneur, pour que vous ne me lapidiez pas

And indeed, I have sought refuge in my Lord and your Lord, lest you stone me

وَإِن لَّمْ تُومِنُواْ لِيَ فَاعْتَزِلُونِۦۖ ﰓ

Wa'il lam tûminû liya fa‘tazilûnî

Si vous ne voulez pas croire en moi, éloignez-vous de moi»

But if you do not believe me, then leave me alone

فَدَعَا رَبَّهُۥٓ أَنَّ هَٰٓؤُلَآءِ قَوْمٞ مُّجْرِمُونَۖ ﰔ

Fada‘â rabbahû anna hâ'ulâ'i qawmum mujrimûn

Il invoqua alors son Seigneur: «Ce sont des gens criminels»

And [finally] he called to his Lord that these were a criminal people

فَاسْرِ بِعِبَادِے لَيْلاً اِنَّكُم مُّتَّبَعُونَ ﰕ

Fasri bi‘ibâdî laylani nnakum muttaba‘ûn

«Voyage de nuit avec Mes serviteurs; vous serez poursuivis

[Allah said], "Then set out with My servants by night. Indeed, you are to be pursued

وَاتْرُكِ اِ۬لْبَحْرَ رَهْواًۖ اِنَّهُمْ جُندٞ مُّغْرَقُونَۖ ﰖ

Watruki lbahra rahwani nnahum jundum mughraqûn

Laisse la mer calme; [telle que tu l'as franchie] ce sont, des armées [vouées] à la noyade»

And leave the sea in stillness. Indeed, they are an army to be drowned

۞ كَمْ تَرَكُواْ مِن جَنَّٰتٖ وَعُيُونٖ ﰗ

Kam tarakû min jannâtin wa‘uyûn

Que de jardins et de sources ils laissèrent [derrière eux]

How much they left behind of gardens and springs

وَزُرُوعٖ وَمَقَامٖ كَرِيمٖ ﰘ

Wazurû‘in wamaqâmin karîm

que de champs et de superbes résidences

And crops and noble sites

وَنَعْمَةٖ كَانُواْ فِيهَا فَٰكِهِينَۖ ﰙ

Wana‘matin kânû fîhâ fâkihîn

que de délices au sein desquels ils se réjouissaient

And comfort wherein they were amused

كَذَٰلِكَۖ وَأَوْرَثْنَٰهَا قَوْماً اٰخَرِينَۖ ﰚ

Kadhâlika wa'awrathnâhâ qawman âkharîn

Il en fut ainsi et Nous fîmes qu'un autre peuple en hérita

Thus. And We caused to inherit it another people

فَمَا بَكَتْ عَلَيْهِمُ اُ۬لسَّمَآءُ وَالَارْضُ وَمَا كَانُواْ مُنظَرِينَۖ ﰛ

Famâ bakat ‘alayhimu ssamâ'u walardu wamâ kânû munzarîn

Ni le ciel ni la terre ne les pleurèrent et ils n'eurent aucun délai

And the heaven and earth wept not for them, nor were they reprieved

وَلَقَدْ نَجَّيْنَا بَنِےٓ إِسْرَآءِيلَ مِنَ اَ۬لْعَذَابِ اِ۬لْمُهِينِ ﰜ

Walaqad najjaynâ banî isrâ'îla mina l‘adhâbi lmuhîn

Et certes, Nous sauvâmes les Enfants d'Israël du châtiment avilissant

And We certainly saved the Children of Israel from the humiliating torment

مِن فِرْعَوْنَۖ إِنَّهُۥ كَانَ عَالِياٗ مِّنَ اَ۬لْمُسْرِفِينَۖ ﰝ

Min fir‘awna innahû kâna ‘âlîam mina lmusrifîn

de Pharaon qui était hautain et outrancier

From Pharaoh. Indeed, he was a haughty one among the transgressors

وَلَقَدِ اِ۪خْتَرْنَٰهُمْ عَلَىٰ عِلْمٍ عَلَى اَ۬لْعَٰلَمِينَ ﰞ

Walaqadi khtarnâhum ‘alâ ‘ilmin ‘alâ l‘âlamîn

A bon escient Nous les choisîmes parmi tous les peuples de l'univers

And We certainly chose them by knowledge over [all] the worlds

وَءَاتَيْنَٰهُم مِّنَ اَ۬لَايَٰتِ مَا فِيهِ بَلَٰٓؤٞاْ مُّبِينٌۖ ﰟ

Wa'âtaynâhum mina layâti mâ fîhi balâ'um mubîn

et leur apportâmes des miracles de quoi les mettre manifestement à l'épreuve

And We gave them of signs that in which there was a clear trial

اِنَّ هَٰٓؤُلَآءِ لَيَقُولُونَ إِنْ هِيَ إِلَّا مَوْتَتُنَا اَ۬لُاول۪ىٰ وَمَا نَحْنُ بِمُنشَرِينَ ﰠ

Inna hâ'ulâ'i layaqûlûna in hiya illâ mawtatunâ lûlê wamâ nahnu bimunsharîn

Ceux-là (les Mecquois) disent «Il n'y a pour nous qu'une mort, la première. Et nous ne serons pas ressuscités

Indeed, these [disbelievers] are saying There is not but our first death, and we will not be resurrected

فَاتُواْ بِـَٔابَآئِنَآ إِن كُنتُمْ صَٰدِقِينَۖ ﰡ

Fâtû bi'âbâ'inâ in kuntum sâdiqîn

Faites donc revenir nos ancêtres, si vous êtes véridiques»

Then bring [back] our forefathers, if you should be truthful

أَهُمْ خَيْرٌ اَمْ قَوْمُ تُبَّعٖۖ وَالذِينَ مِن قَبْلِهِمُۥٓ أَهْلَكْنَٰهُمُۥٓۖ إِنَّهُمْ كَانُواْ مُجْرِمِينَۖ ﰢ

Ahum khayruna m qawmu tubba‘in walladhîna min qablihimû ahlaknâhumû innahum kânû mujrimîn

Sont-ils les meilleurs ou le peuple de Tubba' et ceux qui les ont précédés? Nous les avons fait périr parce que vraiment ils étaient criminels

Are they better or the people of Tubba' and those before them? We destroyed them, [for] indeed, they were criminals

وَمَا خَلَقْنَا اَ۬لسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَالَارْضَ وَمَا بَيْنَهُمَا لَٰعِبِينَۖ ﰣ

Wamâ khalaqnâ ssamâwâti walarda wamâ baynahumâ lâ‘ibîn

Ce n'est pas par divertissement que Nous avons créé les cieux et la terre et ce qui est entre eux

And We did not create the heavens and earth and that between them in play

مَا خَلَقْنَٰهُمَآ إِلَّا بِالْحَقِّۖ وَلَٰكِنَّ أَكْثَرَهُمْ لَا يَعْلَمُونَۖ ﰤ

Mâ khalaqnâhumâ illâ bilhaqqi walâkinna aktharahum lâ ya‘lamûn

Nous ne les avons créés qu'en toute vérité. Mais la plupart d'entre eux ne savent pas

We did not create them except in truth, but most of them do not know

إِنَّ يَوْمَ اَ۬لْفَصْلِ مِيقَٰتُهُمُۥٓ أَجْمَعِينَ ﰥ

Inna yawma lfasli mîqâtuhumû ajma‘în

En vérité, le Jour de la Décision sera leur rendez-vous à tous

Indeed, the Day of Judgement is the appointed time for them all

يَوْمَ لَا يُغْنِے مَوْلىً عَن مَّوْلىٗ شَئْاٗ وَلَا هُمْ يُنصَرُونَ ﰦ

Yawma lâ yughnî mawlan ‘am mawlan shay'an walâ hum yunsarûn

le jour où un allié ne sera d'aucune utilité à un [autre] allié; et ils ne seront point secourus non plus

The Day when no relation will avail a relation at all, nor will they be helped

إِلَّا مَن رَّحِمَ اَ۬للَّهُۖ إِنَّهُۥ هُوَ اَ۬لْعَزِيزُ اُ۬لرَّحِيمُۖ ﰧ

Illâ mar rahima llâhu innahû huwa l‘azîzu rrahîm

sauf celui à qui Allah fera miséricorde. Car c'est Lui, le Puissant, le Très Miséricordieux

Except those [believers] on whom Allah has mercy. Indeed, He is the Exalted in Might, the Merciful

إِنَّ شَجَرَتَ اَ۬لزَّقُّومِ طَعَامُ اُ۬لَاثِيمِ ﰨ

Inna shajarata zzaqqûmi ta‘âmu lathîm

Certes l'arbre de Zakkûm sera la nourriture du grand pécheur

Indeed, the tree of zaqqum Is food for the sinful

كَالْمُهْلِ تَغْلِے فِے اِ۬لْبُطُونِ ﰩ

Kalmuhli taghlî fî lbutûn

Comme du métal en fusion; il bouillonnera dans les ventres

Like murky oil, it boils within bellies

كَغَلْيِ اِ۬لْحَمِيمِۖ ﰪ

Kaghalyi lhamîm

comme le bouillonnement de l'eau surchauffée

Like the boiling of scalding water

خُذُوهُ فَاعْتُلُوهُ إِلَىٰ سَوَآءِ اِ۬لْجَحِيمِ ﰫ

Khudhûhu fa‘tulûhu ilâ sawâ'i ljahîm

Qu'on le saisisse et qu'on l'emporte en plein dans la fournaise

[It will be commanded], "Seize him and drag him into the midst of the Hellfire

ثُمَّ صُبُّواْ فَوْقَ رَأْسِهِۦ مِنْ عَذَابِ اِ۬لْحَمِيمِ ﰬ

Thumma subbû fawqa ra'sihî min ‘adhâbi lhamîm

qu'on verse ensuite sur sa tête de l'eau bouillante comme châtiment

Then pour over his head from the torment of scalding water

ذُقِۖ اِنَّكَ أَنتَ اَ۬لْعَزِيزُ اُ۬لْكَرِيمُۖ ﰭ

Dhuqi nnaka anta l‘azîzu lkarîm

Goûte! Toi [qui prétendait être] le puissant, le noble

[It will be said], "Taste! Indeed, you are the honored, the noble

إِنَّ هَٰذَا مَا كُنتُم بِهِۦ تَمْتَرُونَۖ ﰮ

Inna hâdhâ mâ kuntum bihî tamtarûn

Voilà ce dont vous doutiez

Indeed, this is what you used to dispute

إِنَّ اَ۬لْمُتَّقِينَ فِے مُقَامٍ اَمِينٖ ﰯ

Inna lmuttaqîna fî muqâmina mîn

Les pieux seront dans une demeure sûre

Indeed, the righteous will be in a secure place

فِے جَنَّٰتٖ وَعُيُونٖ ﰰ

Fî jannâtin wa‘uyûn

parmi des jardins et des sources

Within gardens and springs

يَلْبَسُونَ مِن سُندُسٖ وَإِسْتَبْرَقٖ مُّتَقَٰبِلِينَۖ ﰱ

Yalbasûna min sundusin wa'istabraqim mutaqâbilîn

Ils porteront des vêtements de satin et de brocart et seront placés face à face

Wearing [garments of] fine silk and brocade, facing each other

كَذَٰلِكَۖ وَزَوَّجْنَٰهُم بِحُورٍ عِينٖۖ ﰲ

Kadhâlika wazawwajnâhum bihûrin ‘în

C'est ainsi! Et Nous leur donnerons pour épouses des houris aux grands yeux

Thus. And We will marry them to fair women with large, [beautiful] eyes

يَدْعُونَ فِيهَا بِكُلِّ فَٰكِهَةٍ اٰمِنِينَۖ ﰳ

Yad‘ûna fîhâ bikulli fâkihatin âminîn

Ils y demanderont en toute quiétude toutes sortes de fruits

They will call therein for every [kind of] fruit - safe and secure

لَا يَذُوقُونَ فِيهَا اَ۬لْمَوْتَۖ إِلَّا اَ۬لْمَوْتَةَ اَ۬لُاول۪ىٰۖ وَوَق۪يٰهُمْ عَذَابَ اَ۬لْجَحِيمِ ﰴ

Lâ yadhûqûna fîhâ lmawta illâ lmawtata lûlê wawaqêhum ‘adhâba ljahîm

Ils n'y goûteront pas à la mort sauf leur mort première. Et [Allah] les protègera du châtiment de la Fournaise

They will not taste death therein except the first death, and He will have protected them from the punishment of Hellfire

فَضْلاٗ مِّن رَّبِّكَۖ ذَٰلِكَ هُوَ اَ۬لْفَوْزُ اُ۬لْعَظِيمُۖ ﰵ

Fadlam mir rabbika dhâlika huwa lfawzu l‘azîm

c'est là une grâce de ton Seigneur. Et c'est là l'énorme succès

As bounty from your Lord. That is what is the great attainment

فَإِنَّمَا يَسَّرْنَٰهُ بِلِسَانِكَ لَعَلَّهُمْ يَتَذَكَّرُونَۖ ﰶ

Fa'innamâ yassarnâhu bilisânika la‘allahum yatadhakkarûn

Nous ne l'avons facilité dans ta langue, qu'afin qu'ils se rappellent

And indeed, We have eased the Qur'an in your tongue that they might be reminded

فَارْتَقِبِۖ اِنَّهُم مُّرْتَقِبُونَۖ ﰷ

Fartaqibi nnahum murtaqibûn

Attends donc. Eux aussi attendent

So watch, [O Muhammad]; indeed, they are watching [for your end]
