سُورَةُ المُطَففين

83. Al-Muṭaffifīn · Muhammad Hamidullah · Saheeh International

36 verses

بِسْمِ اِ۬للَّهِ اِ۬لرَّحْمَٰنِ اِ۬لرَّحِيمِ Au nom d'Allah, le Tout Miséricordieux, le Très Miséricordieux. In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful.

1

وَيْلٞ لِّلْمُطَفِّفِينَ ﰀ

Waylul lilmutaffifîn

Malheur aux fraudeurs

Woe to those who give less [than due]

2

اَ۬لذِينَ إِذَا اَ۪كْتَالُواْ عَلَى اَ۬لنَّاسِ يَسْتَوْفُونَ ﰁ

Alladhîna idhâ ktâlû ‘alâ nnâsi yastawfûn

qui, lorsqu'ils font mesurer pour eux-mêmes exigent la pleine mesure

Who, when they take a measure from people, take in full

3

وَإِذَا كَالُوهُمُۥٓ أَو وَّزَنُوهُمْ يُخْسِرُونَۖ ﰂ

Wa'idhâ kâlûhumû aw wazanûhum yukhsirûn

et qui lorsqu'eux-mêmes mesurent ou pèsent pour les autres, [leur] causent perte

But if they give by measure or by weight to them, they cause loss

4

أَلَا يَظُنُّ أُوْلَٰٓئِكَ أَنَّهُم مَّبْعُوثُونَ ﰃ

Alâ yazunnu ulâ'ika annahum mab‘ûthûn

Ceux-là ne pensent-ils pas qu'ils seront ressuscités

Do they not think that they will be resurrected

5

لِيَوْمٍ عَظِيمٖ ﰄ

Liyawmin ‘azîm

en un jour terrible

For a tremendous Day

6

يَوْمَ يَقُومُ اُ۬لنَّاسُ لِرَبِّ اِ۬لْعَٰلَمِينَۖ ﰅ

Yawma yaqûmu nnâsu lirabbi l‘âlamîn

le jour où les gens se tiendront debout devant le Seigneur de l'Univers

The Day when mankind will stand before the Lord of the worlds

7

كَلَّآ إِنَّ كِتَٰبَ اَ۬لْفُجّ۪ارِ لَفِے سِجِّينٖۖ ﰆ

Kallâ inna kitâba lfujjêri lafî sijjîn

Non...! Mais en vérité le livre des libertins sera dans le Sijjîn

No! Indeed, the record of the wicked is in sijjeen

8

وَمَآ أَدْر۪يٰكَ مَا سِجِّينٞ ﰇ

Wamâ adrêka mâ sijjîn

et qui te dira ce qu'est le Sijjîn

And what can make you know what is sijjeen

9

كِتَٰبٞ مَّرْقُومٞۖ ﰈ

Kitâbum marqûm

Un livre déjà cacheté (achevé)

It is [their destination recorded in] a register inscribed

10

وَيْلٞ يَوْمَئِذٖ لِّلْمُكَذِّبِينَ ﰉ

Waylun yawma'idhil lilmukadhdhibîn

Malheur, ce jour-là, aux négateurs

Woe, that Day, to the deniers

11

اَ۬لذِينَ يُكَذِّبُونَ بِيَوْمِ اِ۬لدِّينِۖ ﰊ

Alladhîna yukadhdhibûna biyawmi ddîn

qui démentent le jour de la Rétribution

Who deny the Day of Recompense

12

وَمَا يُكَذِّبُ بِهِۦٓ إِلَّا كُلُّ مُعْتَدٍ اَثِيمٍ ﰋ

Wamâ yukadhdhibu bihî illâ kullu mu‘tadina thîm

Or, ne le dément que tout transgresseur, pécheur

And none deny it except every sinful transgressor

13

اِذَا تُتْل۪ىٰ عَلَيْهِ ءَايَٰتُنَا قَالَ أَسَٰطِيرُ اُ۬لَاوَّلِينَۖ ﰌ

Idhâ tutlê ‘alayhi âyâtunâ qâla asâtîru lawwalîn

qui, lorsque Nos versets lui sont récités, dit: «[Ce sont] des contes d'anciens!»

When Our verses are recited to him, he says, "Legends of the former peoples

14

۞ كَلَّا بَل رَّانَ عَلَىٰ قُلُوبِهِم مَّا كَانُواْ يَكْسِبُونَۖ ﰍ

Kallâ bal râna ‘alâ qulûbihim mâ kânû yaksibûn

Pas du tout, mais ce qu'ils ont accompli couvre leurs cœurs

No! Rather, the stain has covered their hearts of that which they were earning

15

كَلَّآ إِنَّهُمْ عَن رَّبِّهِمْ يَوْمَئِذٖ لَّمَحْجُوبُونَۖ ﰎ

Kallâ innahum ‘ar rabbihim yawma'idhil lamahjûbûn

Qu'ils prennent garde! En vérité ce jour-là un voile les empêchera de voir leur Seigneur

No! Indeed, from their Lord, that Day, they will be partitioned

16

ثُمَّ إِنَّهُمْ لَصَالُواْ اُ۬لْجَحِيمِۖ ﰏ

Thumma innahum lasâlû ljahîm

ensuite, ils brûleront certes, dans la Fournaise

Then indeed, they will [enter and] burn in Hellfire

17

ثُمَّ يُقَالُ هَٰذَا اَ۬لذِے كُنتُم بِهِۦ تُكَذِّبُونَۖ ﰐ

Thumma yuqâlu hâdhâ lladhî kuntum bihî tukadhdhibûn

on [leur] dira alors: «Voilà ce que vous traitiez de mensonge!»

Then it will be said [to them], "This is what you used to deny

18

كَلَّآ إِنَّ كِتَٰبَ اَ۬لَابْر۪ارِ لَفِے عِلِّيِّينَۖ ﰑ

Kallâ inna kitâba labrêri lafî ‘illiyyîn

Qu'ils prennent garde! Le livre des bons sera dans l'Illiyûn

No! Indeed, the record of the righteous is in 'illiyyun

19

وَمَآ أَدْر۪يٰكَ مَا عِلِّيُّونَ ﰒ

Wamâ adrêka mâ ‘illiyyûn

et qui te dira ce qu'est l'Illiyûn

And what can make you know what is 'illiyyun

20

كِتَٰبٞ مَّرْقُومٞ ﰓ

Kitâbum marqûm

un livre cacheté

It is [their destination recorded in] a register inscribed

21

يَشْهَدُهُ اُ۬لْمُقَرَّبُونَۖ ﰔ

Yashhaduhu lmuqarrabûn

Les rapprochés [d'Allah: les Anges] en témoignent

Which is witnessed by those brought near [to Allah]

22

إِنَّ اَ۬لَابْرَارَ لَفِے نَعِيمٍ ﰕ

Inna labrâra lafî na‘îm

Les bons seront dans [un Jardin] de délice

Indeed, the righteous will be in pleasure

23

عَلَى اَ۬لَارَآئِكِ يَنظُرُونَ ﰖ

‘alâ larâ'iki yanzurûn

sur les divans, ils regardent

On adorned couches, observing

24

تَعْرِفُ فِے وُجُوهِهِمْ نَضْرَةَ اَ۬لنَّعِيمِ ﰗ

Ta‘rifu fî wujûhihim nadrata nna‘îm

Tu reconnaîtras sur leurs visages, l'éclat de la félicité

You will recognize in their faces the radiance of pleasure

25

يُسْقَوْنَ مِن رَّحِيقٖ مَّخْتُومٍ ﰘ

Yusqawna mir rahîqim makhtûm

On leur sert à boire un nectar pur, cacheté

They will be given to drink [pure] wine [which was] sealed

26

خِتَٰمُهُۥ مِسْكٞۖ وَفِے ذَٰلِكَ فَلْيَتَنَافَسِ اِ۬لْمُتَنَٰفِسُونَۖ ﰙ

Khitâmuhû miskun wafî dhâlika falyatanâfasi lmutanâfisûn

laissant un arrière-goût de musc. Que ceux qui la convoitent entrent en compétition [pour l'acquérir]

The last of it is musk. So for this let the competitors compete

27

وَمِزَاجُهُۥ مِن تَسْنِيمٍ ﰚ

Wamizâjuhû min tasnîm

Il est mélangé à la boisson de Tasnîm

And its mixture is of Tasneem

28

عَيْناٗ يَشْرَبُ بِهَا اَ۬لْمُقَرَّبُونَۖ ﰛ

‘aynan yashrabu bihâ lmuqarrabûn

source dont les rapprochés boivent

A spring from which those near [to Allah] drink

29

إِنَّ اَ۬لذِينَ أَجْرَمُواْ كَانُواْ مِنَ اَ۬لذِينَ ءَامَنُواْ يَضْحَكُونَ ﰜ

Inna lladhîna ajramû kânû mina lladhîna âmanû yadhakûn

Les criminels riaient de ceux qui croyaient

Indeed, those who committed crimes used to laugh at those who believed

30

وَإِذَا مَرُّواْ بِهِمْ يَتَغَامَزُونَ ﰝ

Wa'idhâ marrû bihim yataghâmazûn

et, passant près d'eux, ils se faisaient des œillades

And when they passed by them, they would exchange derisive glances

31

وَإِذَا اَ۪نقَلَبُوٓاْ إِلَىٰٓ أَهْلِهِمُ اُ۪نقَلَبُواْ فَٰكِهِينَ ﰞ

Wa'idhâ nqalabû ilâ ahlihimu nqalabû fâkihîn

et, retournant dans leurs familles, ils retournaient en plaisantant

And when they returned to their people, they would return jesting

32

وَإِذَا رَأَوْهُمْ قَالُوٓاْ إِنَّ هَٰٓؤُلَآءِ لَضَآلُّونَ ﰟ

Wa'idhâ ra'awhum qâlû inna hâ'ulâ'i ladâllûn

et les voyant, ils disaient: «Ce sont vraiment ceux-là les égarés»

And when they saw them, they would say, "Indeed, those are truly lost

33

وَمَآ أُرْسِلُواْ عَلَيْهِمْ حَٰفِظِينَۖ ﰠ

Wamâ ursilû ‘alayhim hâfizîn

Or, ils n'ont pas été envoyés pour être leurs gardiens

But they had not been sent as guardians over them

34

فَالْيَوْمَ اَ۬لذِينَ ءَامَنُواْ مِنَ اَ۬لْكُفّ۪ارِ يَضْحَكُونَ ﰡ

Falyawma lladhîna âmanû mina lkuffêri yadhakûn

Aujourd'hui, donc, ce sont ceux qui ont cru qui rient des infidèles

So Today those who believed are laughing at the disbelievers

35

عَلَى اَ۬لَارَآئِكِۖ يَنظُرُونَ ﰢ

‘alâ larâ'iki yanzurûn

sur les divans, ils regardent

On adorned couches, observing

36

هَلْ ثُوِّبَ اَ۬لْكُفَّارُ مَا كَانُواْ يَفْعَلُونَۖ ﰣ

Hal thuwwiba lkuffâru mâ kânû yaf‘alûn

Est-ce que les infidèles ont eu la récompense de ce qu'ils faisaient

Have the disbelievers [not] been rewarded [this Day] for what they used to do
