أَلَٓمِّٓۖ اَ۬للَّهُ لَآ إِلَٰهَ إِلَّا هُوَۖ اَ۬لْحَيُّ اُ۬لْقَيُّومُ ﰀ

Alif lâm mîm llâhu lâ ilâha illâ huwa lhayyu lqayyûm

Alif, Lâm, Mîm Allah! Pas de divinité à part Lui, le Vivant, Celui qui subsiste par Lui-même «Al-Qayyum»

Alif, Lam, Meem Allah - there is no deity except Him, the Ever-Living, the Sustainer of existence

نَزَّلَ عَلَيْكَ اَ۬لْكِتَٰبَ بِالْحَقِّ مُصَدِّقاٗ لِّمَا بَيْنَ يَدَيْهِۖ وَأَنزَلَ اَ۬لتَّوْر۪يٰةَ وَالِانجِيلَ ﰁ

Nazzala ‘alayka lkitâba bilhaqqi musaddiqal limâ bayna yadayhi wa'anzala ttawrêta walinjîl

Il a fait descendre sur toi le Livre avec la vérité, confirmant les Livres descendus avant lui. Et Il fit descendre la Thora et l'Evangile

He has sent down upon you, [O Muhammad], the Book in truth, confirming what was before it. And He revealed the Torah and the Gospel

مِن قَبْلُ هُدىٗ لِّلنَّاسِ وَأَنزَلَ اَ۬لْفُرْقَانَۖ ﰂ

Min qablu hudal linnâsi wa'anzala lfurqân

auparavant, en tant que guide pour les gens. Et Il a fait descendre le Discernement. Ceux qui ne croient pas aux Révélations d'Allah auront, certes, un dur châtiment! Et, Allah est Puissant, Détenteur du pouvoir de punir

Before, as guidance for the people. And He revealed the Qur'an. Indeed, those who disbelieve in the verses of Allah will have a severe punishment, and Allah is exalted in Might, the Owner of Retribution

إِنَّ اَ۬لذِينَ كَفَرُواْ بِـَٔايَٰتِ اِ۬للَّهِ لَهُمْ عَذَابٞ شَدِيدٞۖ وَاللَّهُ عَزِيزٞ ذُو اُ۪نتِقَامٍۖ ﰃ

Inna lladhîna kafarû bi'âyâti llâhi lahum ‘adhâbun shadîdun wallâhu ‘azîzun dhû ntiqâm

۞ اِنَّ اَ۬للَّهَ لَا يَخْف۪ىٰ عَلَيْهِ شَےْءٞ فِے اِ۬لَارْضِ وَلَا فِے اِ۬لسَّمَآءِۖ ﰄ

Inna llâha lâ yakhfê ‘alayhi shay'un fî lardi walâ fî ssamâ'

Rien, vraiment, ne se cache d'Allah de ce qui existe sur la terre ou dans le ciel

Indeed, from Allah nothing is hidden in the earth nor in the heaven

هُوَ اَ۬لذِے يُصَوِّرُكُمْ فِے اِ۬لَارْحَامِ كَيْفَ يَشَآءُۖ لَآ إِلَٰهَ إِلَّا هُوَۖ اَ۬لْعَزِيزُ اُ۬لْحَكِيمُۖ ﰅ

Huwa lladhî yusawwirukum fî larhâmi kayfa yashâ'u lâ ilâha illâ huwa l‘azîzu lhakîm

C'est Lui qui vous donne forme dans les matrices comme Il veut. Point de divinité à part Lui, le Puissant, le Sage

It is He who forms you in the wombs however He wills. There is no deity except Him, the Exalted in Might, the Wise

هُوَ اَ۬لذِےٓ أَنزَلَ عَلَيْكَ اَ۬لْكِتَٰبَ مِنْهُۖ ءَايَٰتٞ مُّحْكَمَٰتٌ هُنَّ أُمُّ اُ۬لْكِتَٰبِ وَأُخَرُ مُتَشَٰبِهَٰتٞۖ فَأَمَّا اَ۬لذِينَ فِے قُلُوبِهِمْ زَيْغٞ فَيَتَّبِعُونَ مَا تَشَٰبَهَ مِنْهُ اُ۪بْتِغَآءَ اَ۬لْفِتْنَةِ وَابْتِغَآءَ تَاوِيلِهِۦۖ وَمَا يَعْلَمُ تَاوِيلَهُۥٓ إِلَّا اَ۬للَّهُۖ وَالرَّٰسِخُونَ فِے اِ۬لْعِلْمِ يَقُولُونَ ءَامَنَّا بِهِۦ كُلّٞ مِّنْ عِندِ رَبِّنَاۖ وَمَا يَذَّكَّرُ إِلَّآ أُوْلُواْ اُ۬لَالْبَٰبِۖ ﰆ

Huwa lladhî anzala ‘alayka lkitâba minhu âyâtum muhkamâtun hunna ummu lkitâbi wa'ukharu mutashâbihâtun fa'ammâ lladhîna fî qulûbihim zayghun fayattabi‘ûna mâ tashâbaha minhu btighâ'a lfitnati wabtighâ'a tâwîlihî wamâ ya‘lamu tâwîlahû illâ llâhu warrâsikhûna fî l‘ilmi yaqûlûna âmannâ bihî kullum min ‘indi rabbinâ wamâ yadhdhakkaru illâ ulû lalbâb

C'est Lui qui a fait descendre sur toi le Livre: il s'y trouve des versets sans équivoque, qui sont la base du Livre, et d'autres versets qui peuvent prêter à d'interprétations diverses. Les gens, donc, qui ont au cœur une inclination vers l'égarement, mettent l' accent sur les versets à équivoque cherchant la dissension en essayant de leur trouver une interprétation, alors que nul n'en connaît l'interprétation, à part Allah. Mais ceux qui sont bien enracinés dans la science disent: «Nous y croyons: tout est de la part de notre Seigneur!» Mais, seuls les doués d'intelligence s'en rappellent

It is He who has sent down to you, [O Muhammad], the Book; in it are verses [that are] precise - they are the foundation of the Book - and others unspecific. As for those in whose hearts is deviation [from truth], they will follow that of it which is unspecific, seeking discord and seeking an interpretation [suitable to them]. And no one knows its [true] interpretation except Allah. But those firm in knowledge say, "We believe in it. All [of it] is from our Lord." And no one will be reminded except those of understanding

رَبَّنَا لَا تُزِغْ قُلُوبَنَا بَعْدَ إِذْ هَدَيْتَنَا وَهَبْ لَنَا مِن لَّدُنكَ رَحْمَةًۖ اِنَّكَ أَنتَ اَ۬لْوَهَّابُۖ ﰇ

Rabbanâ lâ tuzigh qulûbanâ ba‘da idh hadaytanâ wahab lanâ mil ladunka rahmatani nnaka anta lwahhâb

«Seigneur! Ne laisse pas dévier nos cœurs après que Tu nous aies guidés; et accorde-nous Ta miséricorde. C'est Toi, certes, le Grand Donateur

[Who say], "Our Lord, let not our hearts deviate after You have guided us and grant us from Yourself mercy. Indeed, You are the Bestower

رَبَّنَآ إِنَّكَ جَامِعُ اُ۬لنَّاسِ لِيَوْمٖ لَّا رَيْبَ فِيهِۖ إِنَّ اَ۬للَّهَ لَا يُخْلِفُ اُ۬لْمِيعَادَۖ ﰈ

Rabbanâ innaka jâmi‘u nnâsi liyawmil lâ rayba fîhi inna llâha lâ yukhlifu lmî‘âd

Seigneur! C'est Toi qui rassembleras les gens, un jour - en quoi il n'y a point de doute - Allah, vraiment, ne manque jamais à Sa promesse.»

Our Lord, surely You will gather the people for a Day about which there is no doubt. Indeed, Allah does not fail in His promise

إِنَّ اَ۬لذِينَ كَفَرُواْ لَن تُغْنِيَ عَنْهُمُۥٓ أَمْوَٰلُهُمْ وَلَآ أَوْلَٰدُهُم مِّنَ اَ۬للَّهِ شَئْاٗۖ وَأُوْلَٰٓئِكَ هُمْ وَقُودُ اُ۬لنّ۪ارِ ﰉ

Inna lladhîna kafarû lan tughniya ‘anhumû amwâluhum walâ awlâduhum mina llâhi shay'an wa'ulâ'ika hum waqûdu nnêr

Ceux qui ne croient pas, ni leurs biens ni leurs enfants ne les mettront aucunement à l' abri de la punition d'Allah. Ils seront du combustible pour le Feu

Indeed, those who disbelieve - never will their wealth or their children avail them against Allah at all. And it is they who are fuel for the Fire

كَدَأْبِ ءَالِ فِرْعَوْنَۖ وَالذِينَ مِن قَبْلِهِمْ كَذَّبُواْ بِـَٔايَٰتِنَا فَأَخَذَهُمُ اُ۬للَّهُ بِذُنُوبِهِمْۖ وَاللَّهُ شَدِيدُ اُ۬لْعِقَابِۖ ﰊ

Kada'bi âli fir‘awna walladhîna min qablihim kadhdhabû bi'âyâtinâ fa'akhadhahumu llâhu bidhunûbihim wallâhu shadîdu l‘iqâb

comme les gens de Pharaon et ceux qui vécurent avant eux. Ils avaient traité de mensonges Nos preuves. Allah les saisit donc, pour leurs péchés. Et Allah est dur en punition

[Theirs is] like the custom of the people of Pharaoh and those before them. They denied Our signs, so Allah seized them for their sins. And Allah is severe in penalty

قُل لِّلذِينَ كَفَرُواْ سَتُغْلَبُونَ وَتُحْشَرُونَ إِلَىٰ جَهَنَّمَۖ وَبِيسَ اَ۬لْمِهَادُۖ ﰋ

Qul lilladhîna kafarû satughlabûna watuhsharûna ilâ jahannama wabîsa lmihâd

Dis à ceux qui ne croient pas: «Vous serez vaincus bientôt; et vous serez rassemblés vers l'Enfer. Et quel mauvais endroit pour se reposer!»

Say to those who disbelieve, "You will be overcome and gathered together to Hell, and wretched is the resting place

قَدْ كَانَ لَكُمُۥٓ ءَايَةٞ فِے فِئَتَيْنِ اِ۪لْتَقَتَاۖ فِئَةٞ تُقَٰتِلُ فِے سَبِيلِ اِ۬للَّهِ وَأُخْر۪ىٰ كَافِرَةٞ تَرَوْنَهُم مِّثْلَيْهِمْ رَأْيَ اَ۬لْعَيْنِۖ وَاللَّهُ يُوَ۬يِّدُ بِنَصْرِهِۦ مَنْ يَّشَآءُۖ اِ۪نَّ فِے ذَٰلِكَ لَعِبْرَةٗ لِّأُوْلِے اِ۬لَابْصٰ۪رِۖ ﰌ

Qad kâna lakumû âyatun fî fî'atayni ltaqatâ fî'atun tuqâtilu fî sabîli llâhi wa'ukhrê kâfiratun tarawnahum mithlayhim ra'ya l‘ayni wallâhu yuwayyidu binasrihî may yashâ'u nna fî dhâlika la‘ibratal li'ulî labsêr

Il y eut déjà pour vous un signe dans ces deux troupes qui s'affrontèrent: l'une combattait dans le sentier d'Allah; et l'autre, était mécréante. Ces derniers voyaient (les croyants) de leurs propres yeux, deux fois plus nombreux qu'eux-mêmes. Or Allah secourt qui Il veut de Son aide. Voilà bien là un exemple pour les doués de clairvoyance

Already there has been for you a sign in the two armies which met - one fighting in the cause of Allah and another of disbelievers. They saw them [to be] twice their [own] number by [their] eyesight. But Allah supports with His victory whom He wills. Indeed in that is a lesson for those of vision

زُيِّنَ لِلنَّاسِ حُبُّ اُ۬لشَّهَوَٰتِ مِنَ اَ۬لنِّسَآءِ وَالْبَنِينَ وَالْقَنَٰطِيرِ اِ۬لْمُقَنطَرَةِ مِنَ اَ۬لذَّهَبِ وَالْفِضَّةِ وَالْخَيْلِ اِ۬لْمُسَوَّمَةِ وَالَانْعَٰمِ وَالْحَرْثِۖ ذَٰلِكَ مَتَٰعُ اُ۬لْحَيَوٰةِ اِ۬لدُّنْي۪اۖ وَاللَّهُ عِندَهُۥ حُسْنُ اُ۬لْمَـَٔابِۖ ﰍ

Zuyyina linnâsi hubbu shshahawâti mina nnisâ'i walbanîna walqanâtîri lmuqantarati mina dhdhahabi walfiddati walkhayli lmusawwamati walan‘âmi walharthi dhâlika matâ‘u lhayawâti ddunyê wallâhu ‘indahû husnu lma'âb

On a enjolivé aux gens l'amour des choses qu'ils désirent: femmes, enfants, trésors thésaurisés d'or et d'argent, chevaux marqués, bétail et champs; tout cela est l'objet de jouissance pour la vie présente, alors que c'est près d'Allah qu'il y a bon retour

Beautified for people is the love of that which they desire - of women and sons, heaped-up sums of gold and silver, fine branded horses, and cattle and tilled land. That is the enjoyment of worldly life, but Allah has with Him the best return

۞ قُلَ اَوْ۟نَبِّئُكُم بِخَيْرٖ مِّن ذَٰلِكُمْۖ لِلذِينَ اَ۪تَّقَوْاْ عِندَ رَبِّهِمْ جَنَّٰتٞ تَجْرِے مِن تَحْتِهَا اَ۬لَانْهَٰرُ خَٰلِدِينَ فِيهَا وَأَزْوَٰجٞ مُّطَهَّرَةٞ وَرِضْوَٰنٞ مِّنَ اَ۬للَّهِۖ وَاللَّهُ بَصِيرُۢ بِالْعِبَادِۖ ﰎ

Qula wnabbî'ukum bikhayrim min dhâlikum lilladhîna ttaqaw ‘inda rabbihim jannâtun tajrî min tahtihâ lanhâru khâlidîna fîhâ wa'azwâjum mutahharatun waridwânum mina llâhi wallâhu basîrum bil‘ibâd

Dis: «Puis-je vous apprendre quelque chose de meilleur que tout cela? Pour les pieux, il y a, auprès de leur Seigneur, des jardins sous lesquels coulent les ruisseaux, pour y demeurer éternellement, et aussi, des épouses purifiées, et l'agrément d'Allah.» Et Allah est Clairvoyant sur [Ses] serviteurs

Say, "Shall I inform you of [something] better than that? For those who fear Allah will be gardens in the presence of their Lord beneath which rivers flow, wherein they abide eternally, and purified spouses and approval from Allah. And Allah is Seeing of [His] servants

اِ۬لذِينَ يَقُولُونَ رَبَّنَآ إِنَّنَآ ءَامَنَّا فَاغْفِرْ لَنَا ذُنُوبَنَا وَقِنَا عَذَابَ اَ۬لنّ۪ارِۖ ﰏ

Alladhîna yaqûlûna rabbanâ innanâ âmannâ faghfir lanâ dhunûbanâ waqinâ ‘adhâba nnêr

qui disent: «O notre Seigneur, nous avons la foi; pardonne-nous donc nos péchés, et protège-nous du châtiment du Feu»

Those who say, "Our Lord, indeed we have believed, so forgive us our sins and protect us from the punishment of the Fire

اِ۬لصَّٰبِرِينَ وَالصَّٰدِقِينَ وَالْقَٰنِتِينَ وَالْمُنفِقِينَ وَالْمُسْتَغْفِرِينَ بِالَاسْح۪ارِۖ ﰐ

Assâbirîna wassâdiqîna walqânitîna walmunfiqîna walmustaghfirîna bilashêr

ce sont les endurants, les véridiques, les obéissants, ceux qui dépensent [dans le sentier d'Allah] et ceux qui implorent pardon juste avant l'aube

The patient, the true, the obedient, those who spend [in the way of Allah], and those who seek forgiveness before dawn

شَهِدَ اَ۬للَّهُ أَنَّهُۥ لَآ إِلَٰهَ إِلَّا هُوَ وَالْمَلَٰٓئِكَةُ وَأُوْلُواْ اُ۬لْعِلْمِ قَآئِماَۢ بِالْقِسْطِۖ لَآ إِلَٰهَ إِلَّا هُوَۖ اَ۬لْعَزِيزُ اُ۬لْحَكِيمُۖ ﰑ

Shahida llâhu annahû lâ ilâha illâ huwa walmalâ'ikatu wa'ulû l‘ilmi qâ'imam bilqisti lâ ilâha illâ huwa l‘azîzu lhakîm

Allah atteste, et aussi les Anges et les doués de science, qu'il n'y a point de divinité à part Lui, le Mainteneur de la justice. Point de divinité à part Lui, le Puissant, le Sage

Allah witnesses that there is no deity except Him, and [so do] the angels and those of knowledge - [that He is] maintaining [creation] in justice. There is no deity except Him, the Exalted in Might, the Wise

إِنَّ اَ۬لدِّينَ عِندَ اَ۬للَّهِ اِ۬لِاسْلَٰمُۖ وَمَا اَ۪خْتَلَفَ اَ۬لذِينَ أُوتُواْ اُ۬لْكِتَٰبَ إِلَّا مِنۢ بَعْدِ مَا جَآءَهُمُ اُ۬لْعِلْمُۖ بَغْياَۢ بَيْنَهُمْۖ وَمَنْ يَّكْفُرْ بِـَٔايَٰتِ اِ۬للَّهِ فَإِنَّ اَ۬للَّهَ سَرِيعُ اُ۬لْحِسَابِۖ ﰒ

Inna ddîna ‘inda llâhi lislâmu wamâ khtalafa lladhîna ûtû lkitâba illâ mim ba‘di mâ jâ'ahumu l‘ilmu baghyam baynahum wamay yakfur bi'âyâti llâhi fa'inna llâha sarî‘u lhisâb

Certes, la religion acceptée d'Allah, c'est l'Islam. Ceux auxquels le Livre a été apporté ne se sont disputés, par agressivité entre eux, qu'après avoir reçu la science. Et quiconque ne croit pas aux signes d'Allah... alors Allah est prompt à demander compte

Indeed, the religion in the sight of Allah is Islam. And those who were given the Scripture did not differ except after knowledge had come to them - out of jealous animosity between themselves. And whoever disbelieves in the verses of Allah, then indeed, Allah is swift in [taking] account

فَإِنْ حَآجُّوكَ فَقُلَ اَسْلَمْتُ وَجْهِيَ لِلهِ وَمَنِ اِ۪تَّبَعَنِۦۖ وَقُل لِّلذِينَ أُوتُواْ اُ۬لْكِتَٰبَ وَالُامِّيِّۧنَ ءَآسْلَمْتُمْۖ فَإِنَ اَسْلَمُواْ فَقَدِ اِ۪هْتَدَواْۖ وَّإِن تَوَلَّوْاْ فَإِنَّمَا عَلَيْكَ اَ۬لْبَلَٰغُۖ وَاللَّهُ بَصِيرُۢ بِالْعِبَادِۖ ﰓ

Fa'in hâjjûka faqula slamtu wajhiya lillâhi wamani ttaba‘anî waqul lilladhîna ûtû lkitâba walummiyyina âslamtum fa'ina slamû faqadi htadaw wa'in tawallaw fa'innamâ ‘alayka lbalâghu wallâhu basîrum bil‘ibâd

S'ils te contredisent, dis leur: «Je me suis entièrement soumis à Allah, moi et ceux qui m'ont suivi». Et dis à ceux à qui le Livre a été donné, ainsi qu'aux illettrés: «Avez-vous embrassé l'Islam?» S'ils embrassent l'Islam, ils seront bien guidés. Mais; s'ils tournent le dos... Ton devoir n'est que la transmission (du message). Allah, sur [Ses] serviteurs est Clairvoyant

So if they argue with you, say, "I have submitted myself to Allah [in Islam], and [so have] those who follow me." And say to those who were given the Scripture and [to] the unlearned, "Have you submitted yourselves?" And if they submit [in Islam], they are rightly guided; but if they turn away - then upon you is only the [duty of] notification. And Allah is Seeing of [His] servants

إِنَّ اَ۬لذِينَ يَكْفُرُونَ بِـَٔايَٰتِ اِ۬للَّهِ وَيَقْتُلُونَ اَ۬لنَّبِيٓـِٕۧنَ بِغَيْرِ حَقّٖ وَيَقْتُلُونَ اَ۬لذِينَ يَامُرُونَ بِالْقِسْطِ مِنَ اَ۬لنَّاسِ فَبَشِّرْهُم بِعَذَابٍ اَلِيمٍۖ ﰔ

Inna lladhîna yakfurûna bi'âyâti llâhi wayaqtulûna nnabî'ina bighayri haqqin wayaqtulûna lladhîna yâmurûna bilqisti mina nnâsi fabashshirhum bi‘adhâbina lîm

Ceux qui ne croient pas aux signes d'Allah, tuent sans droit les prophètes et tuent les gens qui commandent la justice, annonce-leur un châtiment douloureux

Those who disbelieve in the signs of Allah and kill the prophets without right and kill those who order justice from among the people - give them tidings of a painful punishment

ا۟وْلَٰٓئِكَ اَ۬لذِينَ حَبِطَتَ اَعْمَٰلُهُمْ فِے اِ۬لدُّنْي۪ا وَالَاخِرَةِۖ وَمَا لَهُم مِّن نَّٰصِرِينَۖ ﰕ

Ulâ'ika lladhîna habitata ‘mâluhum fî ddunyê walakhirati wamâ lahum min nasirîn

Ce sont eux dont les œuvres sont devenues vaines, ici-bas comme dans l'au-delà. Et pour eux, pas de secoureurs

They are the ones whose deeds have become worthless in this world and the Hereafter, and for them there will be no helpers

۞ أَلَمْ تَرَ إِلَى اَ۬لذِينَ أُوتُواْ نَصِيباٗ مِّنَ اَ۬لْكِتَٰبِ يُدْعَوْنَ إِلَىٰ كِتَٰبِ اِ۬للَّهِ لِيَحْكُمَ بَيْنَهُمْ ثُمَّ يَتَوَلّ۪ىٰ فَرِيقٞ مِّنْهُمْ وَهُم مُّعْرِضُونَۖ ﰖ

Alam tara ilâ lladhîna ûtû nasîbam mina lkitâbi yud‘awna ilâ kitâbi llâhi liyahkuma baynahum thumma yatawallê farîqum minhum wahum mu‘ridûn

N'as-tu pas vu comment agissent ceux qui ont reçu une part du Livre, et qui sont maintenant invités au Livre d'Allah pour trancher leurs différends; comment un groupe des leurs tourne le dos et s'esquive

Do you not consider, [O Muhammad], those who were given a portion of the Scripture? They are invited to the Scripture of Allah that it should arbitrate between them; then a party of them turns away, and they are refusing

ذَٰلِكَ بِأَنَّهُمْ قَالُواْ لَن تَمَسَّنَا اَ۬لنَّارُ إِلَّآ أَيَّاماٗ مَّعْدُودَٰتٖ وَغَرَّهُمْ فِے دِينِهِم مَّا كَانُواْ يَفْتَرُونَۖ ﰗ

Dhâlika bi'annahum qâlû lan tamassanâ nnâru illâ ayyâmam ma‘dûdâtin wagharrahum fî dînihim mâ kânû yaftarûn

C'est parce qu'ils disent: «Le Feu ne nous touchera que pour un nombre de jours déterminés.» Et leurs mensonges les trompent en religion

That is because they say, "Never will the Fire touch us except for [a few] numbered days," and [because] they were deluded in their religion by what they were inventing

فَكَيْفَ إِذَا جَمَعْنَٰهُمْ لِيَوْمٖ لَّا رَيْبَ فِيهِ وَوُفِّيَتْ كُلُّ نَفْسٖ مَّا كَسَبَتْ وَهُمْ لَا يُظْلَمُونَۖ ﰘ

Fakayfa idhâ jama‘nâhum liyawmil lâ rayba fîhi wawuffiyat kullu nafsim mâ kasabat wahum lâ yuzlamûn

Eh bien comment seront-ils, quand Nous les aurons rassemblés, en un jour sur quoi il n'y a point de doute, et que chaque âme sera pleinement rétribuée selon ce qu'elle aura acquis? Et ils ne seront point lésés

So how will it be when We assemble them for a Day about which there is no doubt? And each soul will be compensated [in full for] what it earned, and they will not be wronged

قُلِ اِ۬للَّهُمَّ مَٰلِكَ اَ۬لْمُلْكِ تُوتِے اِ۬لْمُلْكَ مَن تَشَآءُ وَتَنزِعُ اُ۬لْمُلْكَ مِمَّن تَشَآءُ وَتُعِزُّ مَن تَشَآءُ وَتُذِلُّ مَن تَشَآءُ بِيَدِكَ اَ۬لْخَيْرُۖ إِنَّكَ عَلَىٰ كُلِّ شَےْءٖ قَدِيرٞۖ ﰙ

Quli llâhumma mâlika lmulki tûtî lmulka man tashâ'u watanzi‘u lmulka mimman tashâ'u watu‘izzu man tashâ'u watudhillu man tashâ'u biyadika lkhayru innaka ‘alâ kulli shay'in qadîr

Dis: «O Allah, Maître de l'autorité absolue. Tu donnes l'autorité à qui Tu veux, et Tu arraches l'autorité à qui Tu veux; et Tu donnes la puissance à qui Tu veux, et Tu humilies qui Tu veux. Le bien est en Ta main et Tu es Omnipotent

Say, "O Allah, Owner of Sovereignty, You give sovereignty to whom You will and You take sovereignty away from whom You will. You honor whom You will and You humble whom You will. In Your hand is [all] good. Indeed, You are over all things competent

تُولِجُ اُ۬ليْلَ فِے اِ۬لنَّه۪ارِ وَتُولِجُ اُ۬لنَّهَارَ فِے اِ۬ليْلِ وَتُخْرِجُ اُ۬لْحَيَّ مِنَ اَ۬لْمَيِّتِ وَتُخْرِجُ اُ۬لْمَيِّتَ مِنَ اَ۬لْحَيِّ وَتَرْزُقُ مَن تَشَآءُ بِغَيْرِ حِسَابٖۖ ﰚ

Tûliju llayla fî nnahêri watûliju nnahâra fî llayli watukhriju lhayya mina lmayyiti watukhriju lmayyita mina lhayyi watarzuqu man tashâ'u bighayri hisâb

Tu fais pénétrer la nuit dans le jour, et Tu fais pénétrer le jour dans la nuit, et Tu fais sortir le vivant du mort, et Tu fais sortir le mort du vivant. Et Tu accordes attribution à qui Tu veux, sans compter»

You cause the night to enter the day, and You cause the day to enter the night; and You bring the living out of the dead, and You bring the dead out of the living. And You give provision to whom You will without account

لَّا يَتَّخِذِ اِ۬لْمُومِنُونَ اَ۬لْكٰ۪فِرِينَ أَوْلِيَآءَ مِن دُونِ اِ۬لْمُومِنِينَۖ وَمَنْ يَّفْعَلْ ذَٰلِكَ فَلَيْسَ مِنَ اَ۬للَّهِ فِے شَےْءٍ اِلَّآ أَن تَتَّقُواْ مِنْهُمْ تُق۪يٰةٗۖ وَيُحَذِّرُكُمُ اُ۬للَّهُ نَفْسَهُۥۖ وَإِلَى اَ۬للَّهِ اِ۬لْمَصِيرُۖ ﰛ

Lâ yattakhidhi lmûminûna lkêfirîna awliyâ'a min dûni lmûminîna wamay yaf‘al dhâlika falaysa mina llâhi fî shay'ini llâ an tattaqû minhum tuqêtan wayuhadhdhirukumu llâhu nafsahû wa'ilâ llâhi lmasîr

Que les croyants ne prennent pas, pour alliés, des infidèles, au lieu de croyants. Quiconque le fait contredit la religion d'Allah, à moins que vous ne cherchiez à vous protéger d'eux. Allah vous met en garde à l'égard de Lui-même. Et c'est à Allah le retour

Let not believers take disbelievers as allies rather than believers. And whoever [of you] does that has nothing with Allah, except when taking precaution against them in prudence. And Allah warns you of Himself, and to Allah is the [final] destination

قُلِ اِن تُخْفُواْ مَا فِے صُدُورِكُمُۥٓ أَوْ تُبْدُوهُ يَعْلَمْهُ اُ۬للَّهُۖ وَيَعْلَمُ مَا فِے اِ۬لسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَمَا فِے اِ۬لَارْضِۖ وَاللَّهُ عَلَىٰ كُلِّ شَےْءٖ قَدِيرٞۖ ﰜ

Quli n tukhfû mâ fî sudûrikumû aw tubdûhu ya‘lamhu llâhu waya‘lamu mâ fî ssamâwâti wamâ fî lardi wallâhu ‘alâ kulli shay'in qadîr

Dis: «Que vous cachiez ce qui est dans vos poitrines ou bien vous le divulguiez, Allah le sait. Il connaît tout ce qui est dans les cieux et sur la terre. Et Allah est Omnipotent

Say, "Whether you conceal what is in your breasts or reveal it, Allah knows it. And He knows that which is in the heavens and that which is on the earth. And Allah is over all things competent

يَوْمَ تَجِدُ كُلُّ نَفْسٖ مَّا عَمِلَتْ مِنْ خَيْرٖ مُّحْضَراٗۖ وَمَا عَمِلَتْ مِن سُوٓءٖ تَوَدُّ لَوَ اَنَّ بَيْنَهَا وَبَيْنَهُۥٓ أَمَداَۢ بَعِيداٗۖ وَيُحَذِّرُكُمُ اُ۬للَّهُ نَفْسَهُۥۖ وَاللَّهُ رَءُوفُۢ بِالْعِبَادِۖ ﰝ

Yawma tajidu kullu nafsim mâ ‘amilat min khayrim muhdaran wamâ ‘amilat min sû'in tawaddu lawa nna baynahâ wabaynahû amadam ba‘îdan wayuhadhdhirukumu llâhu nafsahû wallâhu ra'ûfum bil‘ibâd

Le jour où chaque âme se trouvera confrontée avec ce qu'elle aura fait de bien et ce qu'elle aura fait de mal; elle souhaitera qu'il y ait entre elle et ce mal une longue distance! Allah vous met en garde à l'égard de Lui-même. Allah est Compatissant envers [Ses] serviteurs

The Day every soul will find what it has done of good present [before it] and what it has done of evil, it will wish that between itself and that [evil] was a great distance. And Allah warns you of Himself, and Allah is Kind to [His] servants

قُلِ اِن كُنتُمْ تُحِبُّونَ اَ۬للَّهَ فَاتَّبِعُونِے يُحْبِبْكُمُ اُ۬للَّهُ وَيَغْفِرْ لَكُمْ ذُنُوبَكُمْۖ وَاللَّهُ غَفُورٞ رَّحِيمٞۖ ﰞ

Quli n kuntum tuhibbûna llâha fattabi‘ûnî yuhbibkumu llâhu wayaghfir lakum dhunûbakum wallâhu ghafûrur rahîm

Dis: «Si vous aimez vraiment Allah, suivez-moi, Allah vous aimera alors et vous pardonnera vos péchés. Allah est Pardonneur et Miséricordieux

Say, [O Muhammad], "If you should love Allah, then follow me, [so] Allah will love you and forgive you your sins. And Allah is Forgiving and Merciful

قُلَ اَطِيعُواْ اُ۬للَّهَ وَالرَّسُولَۖ فَإِن تَوَلَّوْاْ فَإِنَّ اَ۬للَّهَ لَا يُحِبُّ اُ۬لْكٰ۪فِرِينَۖ ﰟ

Qula tî‘û llâha warrasûla fa'in tawallaw fa'inna llâha lâ yuhibbu lkêfirîn

Dis: «Obéissez à Allah et au Messager. Et si vous tournez le dos... alors Allah n'aime pas les infidèles

Say, "Obey Allah and the Messenger." But if they turn away - then indeed, Allah does not like the disbelievers

۞ إِنَّ اَ۬للَّهَ اَ۪صْطَف۪ىٰٓ ءَادَمَ وَنُوحاٗ وَءَالَ إِبْرَٰهِيمَ وَءَالَ عِمْرَٰنَ عَلَى اَ۬لْعَٰلَمِينَ ﰠ

Inna llâha stafê âdama wanûhan wa'âla ibrâhîma wa'âla ‘imrâna ‘alâ l‘âlamîn

Certes, Allah a élu Adam, Noé, la famille d'Abraham et la famille d''Imran au-dessus de tout le monde

Indeed, Allah chose Adam and Noah and the family of Abraham and the family of 'Imran over the worlds

ذُرِّيَّةَۢ بَعْضُهَا مِنۢ بَعْضٖۖ وَاللَّهُ سَمِيعٌ عَلِيمٌۖ ﰡ

Dhurriyyatam ba‘duhâ mim ba‘din wallâhu samî‘un ‘alîm

En tant que descendants les uns des autres, et Allah est Audient et Omniscient

Descendants, some of them from others. And Allah is Hearing and Knowing

اِذْ قَالَتِ اِ۪مْرَأَتُ عِمْرَٰنَ رَبِّ إِنِّے نَذَرْتُ لَكَ مَا فِے بَطْنِے مُحَرَّراٗ فَتَقَبَّلْ مِنِّيَۖ إِنَّكَ أَنتَ اَ۬لسَّمِيعُ اُ۬لْعَلِيمُۖ ﰢ

Idh qâlati mra'atu ‘imrâna rabbi innî nadhartu laka mâ fî batnî muharraran fataqabbal minniya innaka anta ssamî‘u l‘alîm

(Rappelle-toi) quand la femme de 'Imran dit: «Seigneur, je T'ai voué en toute exclusivité ce qui est dans mon ventre. Accepte-le donc, de moi. C'est Toi certes l' Audient et l'Omniscient

[Mention, O Muhammad], when the wife of 'Imran said, "My Lord, indeed I have pledged to You what is in my womb, consecrated [for Your service], so accept this from me. Indeed, You are the Hearing, the Knowing

فَلَمَّا وَضَعَتْهَا قَالَتْ رَبِّ إِنِّے وَضَعْتُهَآ أُنث۪ىٰ وَاللَّهُ أَعْلَمُ بِمَا وَضَعَتْۖ وَلَيْسَ اَ۬لذَّكَرُ كَالُانث۪ىٰۖ وَإِنِّے سَمَّيْتُهَا مَرْيَمَۖ وَإِنِّيَ أُعِيذُهَا بِكَ وَذُرِّيَّتَهَا مِنَ اَ۬لشَّيْطَٰنِ اِ۬لرَّجِيمِۖ ﰣ

Falammâ wada‘athâ qâlat rabbi innî wada‘tuhâ unthê wallâhu a‘lamu bimâ wada‘at walaysa dhdhakaru kalunthê wa'innî sammaytuhâ maryama wa'inniya u‘îdhuhâ bika wadhurriyyatahâ mina shshaytâni rrajîm

Puis, lorsqu'elle en eut accouché, elle dit: «Seigneur, voilà que j'ai accouché d'une fille» or Allah savait mieux ce dont elle avait accouché! Le garçon n'est pas comme la fille. «Je l'ai nommée Marie, et je la place, ainsi que sa descendance, sous Ta protection contre le Diable, le banni»

But when she delivered her, she said, "My Lord, I have delivered a female." And Allah was most knowing of what she delivered, "And the male is not like the female. And I have named her Mary, and I seek refuge for her in You and [for] her descendants from Satan, the expelled [from the mercy of Allah]

فَتَقَبَّلَهَا رَبُّهَا بِقَبُولٍ حَسَنٖ وَأَنۢبَتَهَا نَبَاتاً حَسَناٗۖ وَكَفَلَهَا زَكَرِيَّآءُۖ كُلَّمَا دَخَلَ عَلَيْهَا زَكَرِيَّآءُ اُ۬لْمِحْرَابَ وَجَدَ عِندَهَا رِزْقاٗۖ قَالَ يَٰمَرْيَمُ أَنّ۪ىٰ لَكِ هَٰذَاۖ قَالَتْ هُوَ مِنْ عِندِ اِ۬للَّهِۖ إِنَّ اَ۬للَّهَ يَرْزُقُ مَنْ يَّشَآءُ بِغَيْرِ حِسَابٍۖ ﰤ

Fataqabbalahâ rabbuhâ biqabûlin hasanin wa'ambatahâ nabâtan hasanan wakafalahâ zakariyyâ'u kullamâ dakhala ‘alayhâ zakariyyâ'u lmihrâba wajada ‘indahâ rizqan qâla yâmaryamu annê laki hâdhâ qâlat huwa min ‘indi llâhi inna llâha yarzuqu may yashâ'u bighayri hisâb

Son Seigneur l'agréa alors du bon agrément, la fit croître en belle croissance. Et Il en confia la garde à Zacharie. Chaque fois que celui-ci entrait auprès d'elle dans le Sanctuaire, il trouvait près d'elle de la nourriture. Il dit: «O Marie, d'où te vient cette nourriture?» - Elle dit: «Cela me vient d'Allah». Il donne certes la nourriture à qui Il veut sans compter

So her Lord accepted her with good acceptance and caused her to grow in a good manner and put her in the care of Zechariah. Every time Zechariah entered upon her in the prayer chamber, he found with her provision. He said, "O Mary, from where is this [coming] to you?" She said, "It is from Allah. Indeed, Allah provides for whom He wills without account

هُنَالِكَ دَعَا زَكَرِيَّآءُ رَبَّهُۥۖ قَالَ رَبِّ هَبْ لِے مِن لَّدُنكَ ذُرِّيَّةٗ طَيِّبَةً اِنَّكَ سَمِيعُ اُ۬لدُّعَآءِۖ ﰥ

Hunâlika da‘â zakariyyâ'u rabbahû qâla rabbi hab lî mil ladunka dhurriyyatan tayyibatani nnaka samî‘u ddu‘â'

Alors, Zacharie pria son Seigneur, et dit: «O mon Seigneur, donne-moi, venant de Toi, une excellente descendance. Car Tu es Celui qui entend bien la prière»

At that, Zechariah called upon his Lord, saying, "My Lord, grant me from Yourself a good offspring. Indeed, You are the Hearer of supplication

فَنَادَتْهُ اُ۬لْمَلَٰٓئِكَةُ وَهُوَ قَآئِمٞ يُصَلِّے فِے اِ۬لْمِحْرَابِ أَنَّ اَ۬للَّهَ يُبَشِّرُكَ بِيَحْي۪ىٰ مُصَدِّقاَۢ بِكَلِمَةٖ مِّنَ اَ۬للَّهِ وَسَيِّداٗ وَحَصُوراٗ وَنَبِيٓـٔاٗ مِّنَ اَ۬لصَّٰلِحِينَۖ ﰦ

Fanâdathu lmalâ'ikatu wahuwa qâ'imun yusallî fî lmihrâbi anna llâha yubashshiruka biyahyê musaddiqam bikalimatim mina llâhi wasayyidan wahasûran wanabî'am mina ssâlihîn

Alors, les Anges l'appelèrent pendant que, debout, il priait dans le Sanctuaire: «Voilà qu'Allah t'annonce la naissance de Yahya, confirmateur d'une parole d'Allah. Il sera un chef, un chaste, un prophète et du nombre des gens de bien»

So the angels called him while he was standing in prayer in the chamber, "Indeed, Allah gives you good tidings of John, confirming a word from Allah and [who will be] honorable, abstaining [from women], and a prophet from among the righteous

قَالَ رَبِّ أَنّ۪ىٰ يَكُونُ لِے غُلَٰمٞ وَقَدْ بَلَغَنِيَ اَ۬لْكِبَرُ وَامْرَأَتِے عَاقِرٞۖ قَالَ كَذَٰلِكَۖ اَ۬للَّهُ يَفْعَلُ مَا يَشَآءُۖ ﰧ

Qâla rabbi annê yakûnu lî ghulâmun waqad balaghaniya lkibaru wamra'atî ‘âqirun qâla kadhâlika llâhu yaf‘alu mâ yashâ'

Il dit: «O mon Seigneur, comment aurais-je un garçon maintenant que la vieillesse m'a atteint et que ma femme est stérile?» Allah dit: «Comme cela!», Allah fait ce qu'Il veut

He said, "My Lord, how will I have a boy when I have reached old age and my wife is barren?" The angel said, "Such is Allah; He does what He wills

قَالَ رَبِّ اِ۪جْعَل لِّيَ ءَايَةٗۖ قَالَ ءَايَتُكَ أَلَّا تُكَلِّمَ اَ۬لنَّاسَ ثَلَٰثَةَ أَيَّامٍ اِلَّا رَمْزاٗۖ وَاذْكُر رَّبَّكَ كَثِيراٗ وَسَبِّحْ بِالْعَشِيِّ وَالِابْكٰ۪رِۖ ﰨ

Qâla rabbi j‘al liya âyatan qâla âyatuka allâ tukallima nnâsa thalâthata ayyâmini llâ ramzan wadhkur rabbaka kathîran wasabbih bil‘ashiyyi walibkêr

«Seigneur, dit Zacharie, donne-moi un signe.» - «Ton signe, dit Allah, c'est que pendant trois jours tu ne pourras parler aux gens que par geste. Invoque beaucoup Ton Seigneur; et, glorifie-Le, en fin et en début de journée.»

He said, "My Lord, make for me a sign." He Said, "Your sign is that you will not [be able to] speak to the people for three days except by gesture. And remember your Lord much and exalt [Him with praise] in the evening and the morning

۞ وَإِذْ قَالَتِ اِ۬لْمَلَٰٓئِكَةُ يَٰمَرْيَمُ إِنَّ اَ۬للَّهَ اَ۪صْطَف۪يٰكِ وَطَهَّرَكِ وَاصْطَف۪يٰكِ عَلَىٰ نِسَآءِ اِ۬لْعَٰلَمِينَۖ ﰩ

Wa'idh qâlati lmalâ'ikatu yâmaryamu inna llâha stafêki watahharaki wastafêki ‘alâ nisâ'i l‘âlamîn

(Rappelle-toi) quand les Anges dirent: «O Marie, certes Allah t'a élue et purifiée; et Il t'a élue au-dessus des femmes des mondes

And [mention] when the angels said, "O Mary, indeed Allah has chosen you and purified you and chosen you above the women of the worlds

يَٰمَرْيَمُ اُ۟قْنُتِے لِرَبِّكِ وَاسْجُدِے وَارْكَعِے مَعَ اَ۬لرَّٰكِعِينَۖ ﰪ

Yâmaryamu qnutî lirabbiki wasjudî warka‘î ma‘a rrâki‘în

«O Marie, obéis à Ton Seigneur, prosterne-toi, et incline-toi avec ceux qui s'inclinent»

O Mary, be devoutly obedient to your Lord and prostrate and bow with those who bow [in prayer]

ذَٰلِكَ مِنَ اَنۢبَآءِ اِ۬لْغَيْبِ نُوحِيهِ إِلَيْكَۖ وَمَا كُنتَ لَدَيْهِمُۥٓ إِذْ يُلْقُونَ أَقْلَٰمَهُمُۥٓ أَيُّهُمْ يَكْفُلُ مَرْيَمَۖ وَمَا كُنتَ لَدَيْهِمُۥٓ إِذْ يَخْتَصِمُونَ ﰫ

Dhâlika mina mbâ'i lghaybi nûhîhi ilayka wamâ kunta ladayhimû idh yulqûna aqlâmahumû ayyuhum yakfulu maryama wamâ kunta ladayhimû idh yakhtasimûn

Ce sont là des nouvelles de l'Inconnaissable que Nous te révélons. Car tu n'étais pas là lorsqu'ils jetaient leurs calames pour décider qui se chargerait de Marie! Tu n'étais pas là non plus lorsqu'ils se disputaient

That is from the news of the unseen which We reveal to you, [O Muhammad]. And you were not with them when they cast their pens as to which of them should be responsible for Mary. Nor were you with them when they disputed

إِذْ قَالَتِ اِ۬لْمَلَٰٓئِكَةُ يَٰمَرْيَمُ إِنَّ اَ۬للَّهَ يُبَشِّرُكِ بِكَلِمَةٖ مِّنْهُۖ اُ۪سْمُهُ اُ۬لْمَسِيحُ عِيسَى اَ۪بْنُ مَرْيَمَ وَجِيهاٗ فِے اِ۬لدُّنْي۪ا وَالَاخِرَةِ وَمِنَ اَ۬لْمُقَرَّبِينَۖ ﰬ

Idh qâlati lmalâ'ikatu yâmaryamu inna llâha yubashshiruki bikalimatim minhu smuhu lmasîhu ‘îsâ bnu maryama wajîhan fî ddunyê walakhirati wamina lmuqarrabîn

(Rappelle-toi) quand les Anges dirent: «O Marie, voilà qu'Allah t'annonce une parole de Sa part: son nom sera «Al-Masîh», «'Issâ», fils de Marie, illustre ici-bas comme dans l'au-delà, et l'un des rapprochés d'Allah»

[And mention] when the angels said, "O Mary, indeed Allah gives you good tidings of a word from Him, whose name will be the Messiah, Jesus, the son of Mary - distinguished in this world and the Hereafter and among those brought near [to Allah]

وَيُكَلِّمُ اُ۬لنَّاسَ فِے اِ۬لْمَهْدِ وَكَهْلاٗۖ وَمِنَ اَ۬لصَّٰلِحِينَۖ ﰭ

Wayukallimu nnâsa fî lmahdi wakahlan wamina ssâlihîn

Il parlera aux gens, dans le berceau et en son âge mûr et il sera du nombre des gens de bien»

He will speak to the people in the cradle and in maturity and will be of the righteous

قَالَتْ رَبِّ أَنّ۪ىٰ يَكُونُ لِے وَلَدٞ وَلَمْ يَمْسَسْنِے بَشَرٞۖ قَالَ كَذَٰلِكِۖ اِ۬للَّهُ يَخْلُقُ مَا يَشَآءُۖ اِ۪ذَا قَض۪ىٰٓ أَمْراٗ فَإِنَّمَا يَقُولُ لَهُۥ كُنۖ فَيَكُونُۖ ﰮ

Qâlat rabbi annê yakûnu lî waladun walam yamsasnî basharun qâla kadhâliki llâhu yakhluqu mâ yashâ'u dhâ qadê amran fa'innamâ yaqûlu lahû kun fayakûn

Elle dit: «Seigneur! Comment aurais-je un enfant, alors qu'aucun homme ne m'a touchée?» - «C'est ainsi!» dit-Il. Allah crée ce qu'Il veut. Quand Il décide d'une chose, Il lui dit seulement: «Sois» et elle est aussitôt

She said, "My Lord, how will I have a child when no man has touched me?" [The angel] said, "Such is Allah; He creates what He wills. When He decrees a matter, He only says to it, 'Be,' and it is

وَيُعَلِّمُهُ اُ۬لْكِتَٰبَ وَالْحِكْمَةَ وَالتَّوْر۪يٰةَ وَالِانجِيلَ وَرَسُولاً اِلَىٰ بَنِےٓ إِسْرَآءِيلَ أَنِّے قَدْ جِئْتُكُم بِـَٔايَةٖ مِّن رَّبِّكُمُۥٓۖ إِنِّيَ أَخْلُقُ لَكُم مِّنَ اَ۬لطِّينِ كَهَيْـَٔةِ اِ۬لطَّيْرِ فَأَنفُخُ فِيهِ فَيَكُونُ طَٰٓئِراَۢ بِإِذْنِ اِ۬للَّهِۖ وَأُبْرِۓُ اُ۬لَاكْمَهَ وَالَابْرَصَ وَأُحْيِ اِ۬لْمَوْت۪ىٰ بِإِذْنِ اِ۬للَّهِۖ وَأُنَبِّئُكُم بِمَا تَاكُلُونَ وَمَا تَدَّخِرُونَ فِے بُيُوتِكُمُۥٓۖ إِنَّ فِے ذَٰلِكَ لَأٓيَةٗ لَّكُمُۥٓ إِن كُنتُم مُّومِنِينَۖ ﰯ

Wayu‘allimuhu lkitâba walhikmata wattawrêta walinjîla warasûlani lâ banî isrâ'îla annî qad jî'tukum bi'âyatim mir rabbikumû inniya akhluqu lakum mina ttîni kahay'ati ttayri fa'anfukhu fîhi fayakûnu tâ'iram bi'idhni llâhi wa'ubrî'u lakmaha walabrasa wa'uhyi lmawtê bi'idhni llâhi wa'unabbî'ukum bimâ tâkulûna wamâ taddakhirûna fî buyûtikumû inna fî dhâlika la'yatal lakumû in kuntum mûminîn

Et (Allah) lui enseignera l'écriture, la sagesse, la Thora et l'Evangile et Il sera le messager aux enfants d'Israël, [et leur dira]: «En vérité, je viens à vous avec un signe de la part de votre Seigneur. Pour vous, je forme de la glaise comme la figure d'un oiseau, puis je souffle dedans: et, par la permission d'Allah, cela devient un oiseau. Et je guéris l'aveugle-né et le lépreux, et je ressuscite les morts, par la permission d'Allah. Et je vous apprends ce que vous mangez et ce que vous amassez dans vos maisons. Voilà bien là un signe, pour vous, si vous êtes croyants

And He will teach him writing and wisdom and the Torah and the Gospel And [make him] a messenger to the Children of Israel, [who will say], 'Indeed I have come to you with a sign from your Lord in that I design for you from clay [that which is] like the form of a bird, then I breathe into it and it becomes a bird by permission of Allah. And I cure the blind and the leper, and I give life to the dead - by permission of Allah. And I inform you of what you eat and what you store in your houses. Indeed in that is a sign for you, if you are believers

وَمُصَدِّقاٗ لِّمَا بَيْنَ يَدَيَّ مِنَ اَ۬لتَّوْر۪يٰةِ وَلِأُحِلَّ لَكُم بَعْضَ اَ۬لذِے حُرِّمَ عَلَيْكُمْۖ وَجِئْتُكُم بِـَٔايَةٖ مِّن رَّبِّكُمْۖ فَاتَّقُواْ اُ۬للَّهَ وَأَطِيعُونِۖ ﰰ

Wamusaddiqal limâ bayna yadayya mina ttawrêti wali'uhilla lakum ba‘da lladhî hurrima ‘alaykum wajî'tukum bi'âyatim mir rabbikum fattaqû llâha wa'atî‘ûn

Et je confirme ce qu'il y a dans la Thora révélée avant moi, et je vous rends licite une partie de ce qui vous était interdit. Et j'ai certes apporté un signe de votre Seigneur. Craignez Allah donc, et obéissez-moi

And [I have come] confirming what was before me of the Torah and to make lawful for you some of what was forbidden to you. And I have come to you with a sign from your Lord, so fear Allah and obey me

إِنَّ اَ۬للَّهَ رَبِّے وَرَبُّكُمْ فَاعْبُدُوهُۖ هَٰذَا صِرَٰطٞ مُّسْتَقِيمٞۖ ﰱ

Inna llâha rabbî warabbukum fa‘budûhu hâdhâ sirâtum mustaqîm

Allah est mon Seigneur et votre Seigneur. Adorez-Le donc: voilà le chemin droit.»

Indeed, Allah is my Lord and your Lord, so worship Him. That is the straight path

۞ فَلَمَّآ أَحَسَّ عِيس۪ىٰ مِنْهُمُ اُ۬لْكُفْرَ قَالَ مَنَ اَنصَارِيَ إِلَى اَ۬للَّهِۖ قَالَ اَ۬لْحَوَارِيُّونَ نَحْنُ أَنصَارُ اُ۬للَّهِۖ ءَامَنَّا بِاللَّهِ وَاشْهَدْ بِأَنَّا مُسْلِمُونَۖ ﰲ

Falammâ ahassa ‘îsê minhumu lkufra qâla mana nsâriya ilâ llâhi qâla lhawâriyyûna nahnu ansâru llâhi âmannâ billâhi washhad bi'annâ muslimûn

Puis, quand Jésus ressentit de l'incrédulité, de leur part, il dit: «Qui sont mes alliés dans la voie d'Allah?» Les apôtres dirent: «Nous sommes les alliés d'Allah. Nous croyons en Allah. Et sois témoin que nous lui sommes soumis

But when Jesus felt [persistence in] disbelief from them, he said, "Who are my supporters for [the cause of] Allah?" The disciples said, "We are supporters for Allah. We have believed in Allah and testify that we are Muslims [submitting to Him]

رَبَّنَآ ءَامَنَّا بِمَآ أَنزَلْتَ وَاتَّبَعْنَا اَ۬لرَّسُولَ فَاكْتُبْنَا مَعَ اَ۬لشَّٰهِدِينَۖ ﰳ

Rabbanâ âmannâ bimâ anzalta wattaba‘nâ rrasûla faktubnâ ma‘a shshâhidîn

Seigneur! Nous avons cru à ce que Tu as fait descendre et suivi le messager. Inscris-nous donc parmi ceux qui témoignent»

Our Lord, we have believed in what You revealed and have followed the messenger Jesus, so register us among the witnesses [to truth]

وَمَكَرُواْ وَمَكَرَ اَ۬للَّهُۖ وَاللَّهُ خَيْرُ اُ۬لْمَٰكِرِينَۖ ﰴ

Wamakarû wamakara llâhu wallâhu khayru lmâkirîn

Et ils [les autres] se mirent à comploter. Allah a fait échouer leur complot. Et c'est Allah qui sait le mieux leur machination

And the disbelievers planned, but Allah planned. And Allah is the best of planners

إِذْ قَالَ اَ۬للَّهُ يَٰعِيس۪ىٰٓ إِنِّے مُتَوَفِّيكَ وَرَافِعُكَ إِلَيَّ وَمُطَهِّرُكَ مِنَ اَ۬لذِينَ كَفَرُواْۖ وَجَاعِلُ اُ۬لذِينَ اَ۪تَّبَعُوكَ فَوْقَ اَ۬لذِينَ كَفَرُوٓاْ إِلَىٰ يَوْمِ اِ۬لْقِيَٰمَةِۖ ثُمَّ إِلَيَّ مَرْجِعُكُمْ فَأَحْكُمُ بَيْنَكُمْ فِيمَا كُنتُمْ فِيهِ تَخْتَلِفُونَۖ ﰵ

Idh qâla llâhu yâ‘îsê innî mutawaffîka warâfi‘uka ilayya wamutahhiruka mina lladhîna kafarû wajâ‘ilu lladhîna ttaba‘ûka fawqa lladhîna kafarû ilâ yawmi lqiyâmati thumma ilayya marji‘ukum fa'ahkumu baynakum fîmâ kuntum fîhi takhtalifûn

(Rappelle-toi) quand Allah dit: «O Jésus, certes, Je vais mettre fin à ta vie terrestre t'élever vers Moi, te débarrasser de ceux qui n'ont pas cru et mettre jusqu'au Jour de la Résurrection, ceux qui te suivent au-dessus de ceux qui ne croient pas. Puis, c'est vers Moi que sera votre retour, et Je jugerai, entre vous, ce sur quoi vous vous opposiez

[Mention] when Allah said, "O Jesus, indeed I will take you and raise you to Myself and purify you from those who disbelieve and make those who follow you [in submission to Allah alone] superior to those who disbelieve until the Day of Resurrection. Then to Me is your return, and I will judge between you concerning that in which you used to differ

فَأَمَّا اَ۬لذِينَ كَفَرُواْ فَأُعَذِّبُهُمْ عَذَاباٗ شَدِيداٗ فِے اِ۬لدُّنْي۪ا وَالَاخِرَةِۖ وَمَا لَهُم مِّن نَّٰصِرِينَۖ ﰶ

Fa'ammâ lladhîna kafarû fa'u‘adhdhibuhum ‘adhâban shadîdan fî ddunyê walakhirati wamâ lahum min nasirîn

Quant à ceux qui n'ont pas cru, Je les châtierai d'un dur châtiment, ici-bas tout comme dans l'au-delà; et pour eux, pas de secoureurs

And as for those who disbelieved, I will punish them with a severe punishment in this world and the Hereafter, and they will have no helpers

وَأَمَّا اَ۬لذِينَ ءَامَنُواْ وَعَمِلُواْ اُ۬لصَّٰلِحَٰتِ فَنُوَفِّيهِمُۥٓ أُجُورَهُمْۖ وَاللَّهُ لَا يُحِبُّ اُ۬لظَّٰلِمِينَۖ ﰷ

Wa'ammâ lladhîna âmanû wa‘amilû ssâlihâti fanuwaffîhimû ujûrahum wallâhu lâ yuhibbu zzâlimîn

Et quant à ceux qui ont la foi et font de bonnes œuvres, Il leur donnera leurs récompenses. Et Allah n'aime pas les injustes

But as for those who believed and did righteous deeds, He will give them in full their rewards, and Allah does not like the wrongdoers

ذَٰلِكَ نَتْلُوهُ عَلَيْكَ مِنَ اَ۬لَايَٰتِ وَالذِّكْرِ اِ۬لْحَكِيمِۖ ﰸ

Dhâlika natlûhu ‘alayka mina layâti wadhdhikri lhakîm

Voilà ce que Nous te récitons des versets et de la révélation précise

This is what We recite to you, [O Muhammad], of [Our] verses and the precise [and wise] message

إِنَّ مَثَلَ عِيس۪ىٰ عِندَ اَ۬للَّهِ كَمَثَلِ ءَادَمَۖ خَلَقَهُۥ مِن تُرَابٖ ثُمَّ قَالَ لَهُۥ كُنۖ فَيَكُونُۖ ﰹ

Inna mathala ‘îsê ‘inda llâhi kamathali âdama khalaqahû min turâbin thumma qâla lahû kun fayakûn

Pour Allah, Jésus est comme Adam qu'Il créa de poussière, puis Il lui dit: «Sois»: et il fut

Indeed, the example of Jesus to Allah is like that of Adam. He created Him from dust; then He said to him, "Be," and he was

اُ۬لْحَقُّ مِن رَّبِّكَۖ فَلَا تَكُن مِّنَ اَ۬لْمُمْتَرِينَۖ ﰺ

Alhaqqu mir rabbika falâ takum mina lmumtarîn

La vérité vient de ton Seigneur. Ne sois donc pas du nombre des sceptiques

The truth is from your Lord, so do not be among the doubters

فَمَنْ حَآجَّكَ فِيهِ مِنۢ بَعْدِ مَا جَآءَكَ مِنَ اَ۬لْعِلْمِ فَقُلْ تَعَالَوْاْ نَدْعُ أَبْنَآءَنَا وَأَبْنَآءَكُمْ وَنِسَآءَنَا وَنِسَآءَكُمْ وَأَنفُسَنَا وَأَنفُسَكُمْ ثُمَّ نَبْتَهِلْ فَنَجْعَل لَّعْنَتَ اَ۬للَّهِ عَلَى اَ۬لْكَٰذِبِينَۖ ﰻ

Faman hâjjaka fîhi mim ba‘di mâ jâ'aka mina l‘ilmi faqul ta‘âlaw nad‘u abnâ'anâ wa'abnâ'akum wanisâ'anâ wanisâ'akum wa'anfusanâ wa'anfusakum thumma nabtahil fanaj‘al la‘nata llâhi ‘alâ lkâdhibîn

A ceux qui te contredisent à son propos, maintenant que tu en es bien informé, tu n'as qu'à dire: «Venez, appelons nos fils et les vôtres, nos femmes et les vôtres, nos propres personnes et les vôtres, puis proférons exécration réciproque en appelant la malédiction d'Allah sur les menteurs

Then whoever argues with you about it after [this] knowledge has come to you - say, "Come, let us call our sons and your sons, our women and your women, ourselves and yourselves, then supplicate earnestly [together] and invoke the curse of Allah upon the liars [among us]

إِنَّ هَٰذَا لَهُوَ اَ۬لْقَصَصُ اُ۬لْحَقُّۖ وَمَا مِنِ اِلَٰهٍ اِلَّا اَ۬للَّهُۖ وَإِنَّ اَ۬للَّهَ لَهُوَ اَ۬لْعَزِيزُ اُ۬لْحَكِيمُۖ ﰼ

Inna hâdhâ lahuwa lqasasu lhaqqu wamâ mini lâhini llâ llâhu wa'inna llâha lahuwa l‘azîzu lhakîm

Voilà, certes, le récit véridique. Et il n'y a pas de divinité à part Allah. En vérité, c'est Allah qui est le Puissant, le Sage

Indeed, this is the true narration. And there is no deity except Allah. And indeed, Allah is the Exalted in Might, the Wise

فَإِن تَوَلَّوْاْ فَإِنَّ اَ۬للَّهَ عَلِيمُۢ بِالْمُفْسِدِينَۖ ﰽ

Fa'in tawallaw fa'inna llâha ‘alîmum bilmufsidîn

Si donc ils tournent le dos... alors Allah connaît bien les semeurs de corruption

But if they turn away, then indeed - Allah is Knowing of the corrupters

۞ قُلْ يَٰٓأَهْلَ اَ۬لْكِتَٰبِ تَعَالَوِاْ اِلَىٰ كَلِمَةٖ سَوَآءِۢ بَيْنَنَا وَبَيْنَكُمُۥٓ أَلَّا نَعْبُدَ إِلَّا اَ۬للَّهَ وَلَا نُشْرِكَ بِهِۦ شَئْاٗ وَلَا يَتَّخِذَ بَعْضُنَا بَعْضاً اَرْبَاباٗ مِّن دُونِ اِ۬للَّهِۖ فَإِن تَوَلَّوْاْ فَقُولُواْ اُ۪شْهَدُواْ بِأَنَّا مُسْلِمُونَۖ ﰾ

Qul yâ'ahla lkitâbi ta‘âlawi lâ kalimatin sawâ'im baynanâ wabaynakumû allâ na‘buda illâ llâha walâ nushrika bihî shay'an walâ yattakhidha ba‘dunâ ba‘dana rbâbam min dûni llâhi fa'in tawallaw faqûlû shhadû bi'annâ muslimûn

Dis: «O gens du Livre, venez à une parole commune entre nous et vous: que nous n'adorions qu'Allah, sans rien Lui associer, et que nous ne prenions point les uns les autres pour seigneurs en dehors d'Allah». Puis, s'ils tournent le dos, dites: «Soyez témoins que nous, nous sommes soumis»

Say, "O People of the Scripture, come to a word that is equitable between us and you - that we will not worship except Allah and not associate anything with Him and not take one another as lords instead of Allah." But if they turn away, then say, "Bear witness that we are Muslims [submitting to Him]

يَٰٓأَهْلَ اَ۬لْكِتَٰبِ لِمَ تُحَآجُّونَ فِےٓ إِبْرَٰهِيمَۖ وَمَآ أُنزِلَتِ اِ۬لتَّوْر۪يٰةُ وَالِانجِيلُ إِلَّا مِنۢ بَعْدِهِۦٓۖ أَفَلَا تَعْقِلُونَۖ ﰿ

Yâ'ahla lkitâbi lima tuhâjjûna fî ibrâhîma wamâ unzilati ttawrêtu walinjîlu illâ mim ba‘dihî afalâ ta‘qilûn

O gens du Livre, pourquoi disputez-vous au sujet d'Abraham, alors que la Thora et l'Evangile ne sont descendus qu'après lui? Ne raisonnez-vous donc pas

O People of the Scripture, why do you argue about Abraham while the Torah and the Gospel were not revealed until after him? Then will you not reason

هَآنتُمْ هَٰٓؤُلَآءِ حَٰجَجْتُمْ فِيمَا لَكُم بِهِۦ عِلْمٞ فَلِمَ تُحَآجُّونَ فِيمَا لَيْسَ لَكُم بِهِۦ عِلْمٞۖ وَاللَّهُ يَعْلَمُۖ وَأَنتُمْ لَا تَعْلَمُونَۖ ﱀ

Hântum hâ'ulâ'i hâjajtum fîmâ lakum bihî ‘ilmun falima tuhâjjûna fîmâ laysa lakum bihî ‘ilmun wallâhu ya‘lamu wa'antum lâ ta‘lamûn

Vous avez bel et bien disputé à propos d'une chose dont vous avez connaissance. Mais pourquoi disputez-vous des choses dont vous n'avez pas connaissance? Or Allah sait, tandis que vous ne savez pas

Here you are - those who have argued about that of which you have [some] knowledge, but why do you argue about that of which you have no knowledge? And Allah knows, while you know not

مَا كَانَ إِبْرَٰهِيمُ يَهُودِيّاٗ وَلَا نَصْرَانِيّاٗ وَلَٰكِن كَانَ حَنِيفاٗ مُّسْلِماٗۖ وَمَا كَانَ مِنَ اَ۬لْمُشْرِكِينَۖ ﱁ

Mâ kâna ibrâhîmu yahûdiyyan walâ nasrâniyyan walâkin kâna hanîfam musliman wamâ kâna mina lmushrikîn

Abraham n'était ni Juif ni Chrétien. Il était entièrement soumis à Allah (Musulman). Et il n'était point du nombre des Associateurs

Abraham was neither a Jew nor a Christian, but he was one inclining toward truth, a Muslim [submitting to Allah]. And he was not of the polytheists

إِنَّ أَوْلَى اَ۬لنَّاسِ بِإِبْرَٰهِيمَ لَلذِينَ اَ۪تَّبَعُوهُ وَهَٰذَا اَ۬لنَّبِےٓءُ وَالذِينَ ءَامَنُواْۖ وَاللَّهُ وَلِيُّ اُ۬لْمُومِنِينَۖ ﱂ

Inna awlâ nnâsi bi'ibrâhîma lalladhîna ttaba‘ûhu wahâdhâ nnabî'u walladhîna âmanû wallâhu waliyyu lmûminîn

Certes les hommes les plus dignes de se réclamer d'Abraham, sont ceux qui l'ont suivi, ainsi que ce Prophète-ci, et ceux qui ont la foi. Et Allah est l'allié des croyants

Indeed, the most worthy of Abraham among the people are those who followed him [in submission to Allah] and this prophet, and those who believe [in his message]. And Allah is the ally of the believers

وَدَّت طَّآئِفَةٞ مِّنَ اَهْلِ اِ۬لْكِتَٰبِ لَوْ يُضِلُّونَكُمْۖ وَمَا يُضِلُّونَ إِلَّآ أَنفُسَهُمْ وَمَا يَشْعُرُونَۖ ﱃ

Waddat tâ'ifatum mina hli lkitâbi law yudillûnakum wamâ yudillûna illâ anfusahum wamâ yash‘urûn

Une partie des gens du Livre aurait bien voulu vous égarer. Or ils n'égarent qu'eux-mêmes; et ils n'en sont pas conscients

A faction of the people of the Scripture wish they could mislead you. But they do not mislead except themselves, and they perceive [it] not

يَٰٓأَهْلَ اَ۬لْكِتَٰبِ لِمَ تَكْفُرُونَ بِـَٔايَٰتِ اِ۬للَّهِ وَأَنتُمْ تَشْهَدُونَۖ ﱄ

Yâ'ahla lkitâbi lima takfurûna bi'âyâti llâhi wa'antum tashhadûn

O gens du Livre, pourquoi ne croyez vous pas aux versets d'Allah (le Coran), cependant que vous en êtes témoins

O People of the Scripture, why do you disbelieve in the verses of Allah while you witness [to their truth]

يَٰٓأَهْلَ اَ۬لْكِتَٰبِ لِمَ تَلْبِسُونَ اَ۬لْحَقَّ بِالْبَٰطِلِ وَتَكْتُمُونَ اَ۬لْحَقَّ وَأَنتُمْ تَعْلَمُونَۖ ﱅ

Yâ'ahla lkitâbi lima talbisûna lhaqqa bilbâtili wataktumûna lhaqqa wa'antum ta‘lamûn

O gens du Livre, pourquoi mêlez-vous le faux au vrai et cachez-vous sciemment la vérité

O People of the Scripture, why do you confuse the truth with falsehood and conceal the truth while you know [it]

وَقَالَت طَّآئِفَةٞ مِّنَ اَهْلِ اِ۬لْكِتَٰبِ ءَامِنُواْ بِالذِےٓ أُنزِلَ عَلَى اَ۬لذِينَ ءَامَنُواْ وَجْهَ اَ۬لنَّه۪ارِ وَاكْفُرُوٓاْ ءَاخِرَهُۥ لَعَلَّهُمْ يَرْجِعُونَۖ ﱆ

Waqâlat tâ'ifatum mina hli lkitâbi âminû billadhî unzila ‘alâ lladhîna âmanû wajha nnahêri wakfurû âkhirahû la‘allahum yarji‘ûn

Ainsi dit une partie des gens du Livre: «Au début du jour, croyez à ce qui a été révélé aux Musulmans, mais, à la fin du jour, rejetez-le, afin qu'ils retournent (à leur ancienne religion)

And a faction of the People of the Scripture say [to each other], "Believe in that which was revealed to the believers at the beginning of the day and reject it at its end that perhaps they will abandon their religion

وَلَا تُومِنُوٓاْ إِلَّا لِمَن تَبِعَ دِينَكُمْۖ قُلِ اِنَّ اَ۬لْهُد۪ىٰ هُدَى اَ۬للَّهِ أَنْ يُّوت۪ىٰٓ أَحَدٞ مِّثْلَ مَآ أُوتِيتُمُۥٓ أَوْ يُحَآجُّوكُمْ عِندَ رَبِّكُمْۖ قُلِ اِنَّ اَ۬لْفَضْلَ بِيَدِ اِ۬للَّهِۖ يُوتِيهِ مَنْ يَّشَآءُۖ وَاللَّهُ وَٰسِعٌ عَلِيمٞۖ ﱇ

Walâ tûminû illâ liman tabi‘a dînakum quli nna lhudê hudâ llâhi ay yûtê ahadum mithla mâ ûtîtumû aw yuhâjjûkum ‘inda rabbikum quli nna lfadla biyadi llâhi yûtîhi may yashâ'u wallâhu wâsi‘un ‘alîm

[Et les gens du Livre disent à leurs coreligionnaires]: «Ne croyez que ceux qui suivent votre religion...» Dis: «La vraie direction est la direction d'Allah» - [et ils disent encore: Vous ne devez ni approuver ni reconnaître] que quelqu'un d'autre que vous puisse recevoir comme ce que vous avez reçu de sorte qu'ils (les musulmans) ne puissent argumenter contre vous auprès de votre Seigneur. Dis-[leur]: En vérité, la grâce est en la main d'Allah. Il la donne à qui Il veut. La grâce d'Allah est immense et Il est Omniscient

And do not trust except those who follow your religion." Say, "Indeed, the [true] guidance is the guidance of Allah. [Do you fear] lest someone be given [knowledge] like you were given or that they would [thereby] argue with you before your Lord?" Say, "Indeed, [all] bounty is in the hand of Allah - He grants it to whom He wills. And Allah is all-Encompassing and Wise

يَخْتَصُّ بِرَحْمَتِهِۦ مَنْ يَّشَآءُۖ وَاللَّهُ ذُو اُ۬لْفَضْلِ اِ۬لْعَظِيمِۖ ﱈ

Yakhtassu birahmatihî may yashâ'u wallâhu dhû lfadli l‘azîm

Il réserve à qui Il veut sa miséricorde. Et Allah est Détenteur d'une grâce immense

He selects for His mercy whom He wills. And Allah is the possessor of great bounty

۞ وَمِنَ اَهْلِ اِ۬لْكِتَٰبِ مَنِ اِن تَامَنْهُ بِقِنط۪ارٖ يُوَ۬دِّهِۦٓ إِلَيْكَۖ وَمِنْهُم مَّنِ اِن تَامَنْهُ بِدِين۪ارٖ لَّا يُوَ۬دِّهِۦٓ إِلَيْكَ إِلَّا مَا دُمْتَ عَلَيْهِ قَآئِماٗۖ ذَٰلِكَ بِأَنَّهُمْ قَالُواْ لَيْسَ عَلَيْنَا فِے اِ۬لُامِّيِّۧنَ سَبِيلٞۖ وَيَقُولُونَ عَلَى اَ۬للَّهِ اِ۬لْكَذِبَ وَهُمْ يَعْلَمُونَۖ ﱉ

Wamina hli lkitâbi mani n tâmanhu biqintêrin yuwaddihî ilayka waminhum mani n tâmanhu bidînêril lâ yuwaddihî ilayka illâ mâ dumta ‘alayhi qâ'iman dhâlika bi'annahum qâlû laysa ‘alaynâ fî lummiyyina sabîlun wayaqûlûna ‘alâ llâhi lkadhiba wahum ya‘lamûn

Et parmi les gens du Livre, il y en a qui, si tu lui confies un qintâr, te le rend. Mais il y en a aussi qui, si tu lui confies un dinâr, ne te le rendra que si tu l'y contrains sans relâche. Tout cela parce qu'ils disent: «Ces (arabes) qui n'ont pas de livre n'ont aucun chemin pour nous contraindre.» Ils profèrent des mensonges contre Allah alors qu'ils savent

And among the People of the Scripture is he who, if you entrust him with a great amount [of wealth], he will return it to you. And among them is he who, if you entrust him with a [single] silver coin, he will not return it to you unless you are constantly standing over him [demanding it]. That is because they say, "There is no blame upon us concerning the unlearned." And they speak untruth about Allah while they know [it]

بَل۪ىٰ مَنَ اَوْف۪ىٰ بِعَهْدِهِۦ وَاتَّق۪ىٰ فَإِنَّ اَ۬للَّهَ يُحِبُّ اُ۬لْمُتَّقِينَۖ ﱊ

Balê mana wfê bi‘ahdihî wattaqê fa'inna llâha yuhibbu lmuttaqîn

Au contraire, quiconque remplit sa promesse et craint Allah... Allah aime les pieux

But yes, whoever fulfills his commitment and fears Allah - then indeed, Allah loves those who fear Him

إِنَّ اَ۬لذِينَ يَشْتَرُونَ بِعَهْدِ اِ۬للَّهِ وَأَيْمَٰنِهِمْ ثَمَناٗ قَلِيلاً ا۟وْلَٰٓئِكَ لَا خَلَٰقَ لَهُمْ فِے اِ۬لَاخِرَةِ وَلَا يُكَلِّمُهُمُ اُ۬للَّهُ وَلَا يَنظُرُ إِلَيْهِمْ يَوْمَ اَ۬لْقِيَٰمَةِ وَلَا يُزَكِّيهِمْۖ وَلَهُمْ عَذَابٌ اَلِيمٞۖ ﱋ

Inna lladhîna yashtarûna bi‘ahdi llâhi wa'aymânihim thamanan qalîlan ulâ'ika lâ khalâqa lahum fî lakhirati walâ yukallimuhumu llâhu walâ yanzuru ilayhim yawma lqiyâmati walâ yuzakkîhim walahum ‘adhâbuna lîm

Ceux qui vendent à vil prix leur engagement avec Allah ainsi que leurs serments n'auront aucune part dans l'au-delà, et Allah ne leur parlera pas, ni les regardera, au Jour de la Résurrection, ni ne les purifiera; et ils auront un châtiment douloureux

Indeed, those who exchange the covenant of Allah and their [own] oaths for a small price will have no share in the Hereafter, and Allah will not speak to them or look at them on the Day of Resurrection, nor will He purify them; and they will have a painful punishment

وَإِنَّ مِنْهُمْ لَفَرِيقاٗ يَلْوُۥنَ أَلْسِنَتَهُم بِالْكِتَٰبِ لِتَحْسِبُوهُ مِنَ اَ۬لْكِتَٰبِ وَمَا هُوَ مِنَ اَ۬لْكِتَٰبِۖ وَيَقُولُونَ هُوَ مِنْ عِندِ اِ۬للَّهِۖ وَمَا هُوَ مِنْ عِندِ اِ۬للَّهِۖ وَيَقُولُونَ عَلَى اَ۬للَّهِ اِ۬لْكَذِبَ وَهُمْ يَعْلَمُونَۖ ﱌ

Wa'inna minhum lafarîqan yalwûna alsinatahum bilkitâbi litahsibûhu mina lkitâbi wamâ huwa mina lkitâbi wayaqûlûna huwa min ‘indi llâhi wamâ huwa min ‘indi llâhi wayaqûlûna ‘alâ llâhi lkadhiba wahum ya‘lamûn

Et il y a parmi eux certains qui roulent leurs langues en lisant le Livre pour vous faire croire que cela provient du Livre, alors qu'il n'est point du Livre; et ils disent: «Ceci vient d'Allah, alors qu'il ne vient point d'Allah. Ils disent sciemment des mensonges contre Allah

And indeed, there is among them a party who alter the Scripture with their tongues so you may think it is from the Scripture, but it is not from the Scripture. And they say, "This is from Allah," but it is not from Allah. And they speak untruth about Allah while they know

مَا كَانَ لِبَشَرٍ اَنْ يُّوتِيَهُ اُ۬للَّهُ اُ۬لْكِتَٰبَ وَالْحُكْمَ وَالنُّبُوٓءَةَ ثُمَّ يَقُولَ لِلنَّاسِ كُونُواْ عِبَاداٗ لِّے مِن دُونِ اِ۬للَّهِ وَلَٰكِن كُونُواْ رَبَّٰنِيِّۧنَ بِمَا كُنتُمْ تَعْلَمُونَ اَ۬لْكِتَٰبَ وَبِمَا كُنتُمْ تَدْرُسُونَۖ ﱍ

Mâ kâna libasharina y yûtiyahu llâhu lkitâba walhukma wannubû'ata thumma yaqûla linnâsi kûnû ‘ibâdal lî min dûni llâhi walâkin kûnû rabbâniyyina bimâ kuntum ta‘lamûna lkitâba wabimâ kuntum tadrusûn

Il ne conviendrait pas à un être humain à qui Allah a donné le Livre, la Compréhension et la Prophétie, de dire ensuite aux gens: «Soyez mes adorateurs, à l'exclusion d'Allah; mais au contraire, [il devra dire]: «Devenez des savants, obéissant au Seigneur, puisque vous enseignez le Livre et vous l'étudiez»

It is not for a human [prophet] that Allah should give him the Scripture and authority and prophethood and then he would say to the people, "Be servants to me rather than Allah," but [instead, he would say], "Be pious scholars of the Lord because of what you have taught of the Scripture and because of what you have studied

وَلَا يَامُرُكُمُۥٓ أَن تَتَّخِذُواْ اُ۬لْمَلَٰٓئِكَةَ وَالنَّبِيٓـِٕۧنَ أَرْبَاباًۖ اَيَامُرُكُم بِالْكُفْرِ بَعْدَ إِذَ اَنتُم مُّسْلِمُونَۖ ﱎ

Walâ yâmurukumû an tattakhidhû lmalâ'ikata wannabî'ina arbâbana yâmurukum bilkufri ba‘da idha ntum muslimûn

Et il ne va pas vous commander de prendre pour seigneurs anges et prophètes. Vous commanderait-il de rejeter la foi, vous qui êtes Musulmans

Nor could he order you to take the angels and prophets as lords. Would he order you to disbelief after you had been Muslims

وَإِذَ اَخَذَ اَ۬للَّهُ مِيثَٰقَ اَ۬لنَّبِيٓـِٕۧنَ لَمَآ ءَاتَيْنَٰكُم مِّن كِتَٰبٖ وَحِكْمَةٖ ثُمَّ جَآءَكُمْ رَسُولٞ مُّصَدِّقٞ لِّمَا مَعَكُمْ لَتُومِنُنَّ بِهِۦ وَلَتَنصُرُنَّهُۥۖ ۞ قَالَ ءَآقْرَرْتُمْ وَأَخَذتُّمْ عَلَىٰ ذَٰلِكُمُۥٓ إِصْرِےۖ قَالُوٓاْ أَقْرَرْنَاۖ قَالَ فَاشْهَدُواْ وَأَنَا مَعَكُم مِّنَ اَ۬لشَّٰهِدِينَۖ ﱏ

Wa'idha khadha llâhu mîthâqa nnabî'ina lamâ âtaynâkum min kitâbin wahikmatin thumma jâ'akum rasûlum musaddiqul limâ ma‘akum latûminunna bihî walatansurunnahû qâla âqrartum wa'akhadhttum ‘alâ dhâlikumû isrî qâlû aqrarnâ qâla fashhadû wa'anâ ma‘akum mina shshâhidîn

Et lorsqu'Allah prit cet engagement des prophètes: «Chaque fois que Je vous accorderai un Livre et de la Sagesse, et qu'ensuite un messager vous viendra confirmer ce qui est avec vous, vous devez croire en lui, et vous devrez lui porter secours.» Il leur dit: «Consentez-vous et acceptez-vous Mon pacte à cette condition?» - «Nous consentons», dirent-ils. «Soyez-en donc témoins, dit Allah. Et Me voici, avec vous, parmi les témoins

And [recall, O People of the Scripture], when Allah took the covenant of the prophets, [saying], "Whatever I give you of the Scripture and wisdom and then there comes to you a messenger confirming what is with you, you [must] believe in him and support him." [Allah] said, "Have you acknowledged and taken upon that My commitment?" They said, "We have acknowledged it." He said, "Then bear witness, and I am with you among the witnesses

فَمَن تَوَلّ۪ىٰ بَعْدَ ذَٰلِكَ فَأُوْلَٰٓئِكَ هُمُ اُ۬لْفَٰسِقُونَۖ ﱐ

Faman tawallê ba‘da dhâlika fa'ulâ'ika humu lfâsiqûn

Quiconque ensuite tournera le dos... alors ce sont eux qui seront les pervers»

And whoever turned away after that - they were the defiantly disobedient

أَفَغَيْرَ دِينِ اِ۬للَّهِ تَبْغُونَ وَلَهُۥٓ أَسْلَمَ مَن فِے اِ۬لسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَالَارْضِ طَوْعاٗ وَكَرْهاٗۖ وَإِلَيْهِ تُرْجَعُونَۖ ﱑ

Afaghayra dîni llâhi tabghûna walahû aslama man fî ssamâwâti walardi taw‘an wakarhan wa'ilayhi turja‘ûn

Désirent-ils une autre religion que celle d'Allah, alors que se soumet à Lui, bon gré, mal gré, tout ce qui existe dans les cieux et sur la terre, et que c'est vers Lui qu'ils seront ramenés

So is it other than the religion of Allah they desire, while to Him have submitted [all] those within the heavens and earth, willingly or by compulsion, and to Him they will be returned

قُلَ اٰمَنَّا بِاللَّهِ وَمَآ أُنزِلَ عَلَيْنَا وَمَآ أُنزِلَ عَلَىٰٓ إِبْرَٰهِيمَ وَإِسْمَٰعِيلَ وَإِسْحَٰقَ وَيَعْقُوبَ وَالَاسْبَاطِ وَمَآ أُوتِيَ مُوس۪ىٰ وَعِيس۪ىٰ وَالنَّبِيٓـُٔونَ مِن رَّبِّهِمْ لَا نُفَرِّقُ بَيْنَ أَحَدٖ مِّنْهُمْ وَنَحْنُ لَهُۥ مُسْلِمُونَۖ ﱒ

Qula âmannâ billâhi wamâ unzila ‘alaynâ wamâ unzila ‘alâ ibrâhîma wa'ismâ‘îla wa'ishâqa waya‘qûba walasbâti wamâ ûtiya mûsê wa‘îsê wannabî'ûna mir rabbihim lâ nufarriqu bayna ahadim minhum wanahnu lahû muslimûn

Dis: «Nous croyons en Allah, à ce qu'on a fait descendre sur nous, à ce qu'on a fait descendre sur Abraham, Ismaël, Isaac, Jacob et les Tribus, et à ce qui a été apporté à Moïse, à Jésus et aux prophètes, de la part de leur Seigneur: nous ne faisons aucune différence entre eux; et c'est à Lui que nous sommes Soumis»

Say, "We have believed in Allah and in what was revealed to us and what was revealed to Abraham, Ishmael, Isaac, Jacob, and the Descendants, and in what was given to Moses and Jesus and to the prophets from their Lord. We make no distinction between any of them, and we are Muslims [submitting] to Him

وَمَنْ يَّبْتَغِ غَيْرَ اَ۬لِاسْلَٰمِ دِيناٗ فَلَنْ يُّقْبَلَ مِنْهُۖ وَهُوَ فِے اِ۬لَاخِرَةِ مِنَ اَ۬لْخَٰسِرِينَۖ ﱓ

Wamay yabtaghi ghayra lislâmi dînan falay yuqbala minhu wahuwa fî lakhirati mina lkhâsirîn

Et quiconque désire une religion autre que l'Islam, ne sera point agréé, et il sera, dans l'au-delà, parmi les perdants

And whoever desires other than Islam as religion - never will it be accepted from him, and he, in the Hereafter, will be among the losers

كَيْفَ يَهْدِے اِ۬للَّهُ قَوْماٗ كَفَرُواْ بَعْدَ إِيمَٰنِهِمْ وَشَهِدُوٓاْ أَنَّ اَ۬لرَّسُولَ حَقّٞ وَجَآءَهُمُ اُ۬لْبَيِّنَٰتُۖ وَاللَّهُ لَا يَهْدِے اِ۬لْقَوْمَ اَ۬لظَّٰلِمِينَۖ ﱔ

Kayfa yahdî llâhu qawman kafarû ba‘da îmânihim washahidû anna rrasûla haqqun wajâ'ahumu lbayyinâtu wallâhu lâ yahdî lqawma zzâlimîn

Comment Allah guiderait-Il des gens qui n'ont plus la foi après avoir cru et témoigné que le Messager est véridique, et après que les preuves leur sont venues? Allah ne guide pas les gens injustes

How shall Allah guide a people who disbelieved after their belief and had witnessed that the Messenger is true and clear signs had come to them? And Allah does not guide the wrongdoing people

أُوْلَٰٓئِكَ جَزَآؤُهُمُۥٓ أَنَّ عَلَيْهِمْ لَعْنَةَ اَ۬للَّهِ وَالْمَلَٰٓئِكَةِ وَالنَّاسِ أَجْمَعِينَ ﱕ

Ulâ'ika jazâ'uhumû anna ‘alayhim la‘nata llâhi walmalâ'ikati wannâsi ajma‘în

Ceux là, leur rétribution sera qu'ils auront sur eux la malédiction d'Allah, des Anges et de tous les êtres humains

Those - their recompense will be that upon them is the curse of Allah and the angels and the people, all together

خَٰلِدِينَ فِيهَا لَا يُخَفَّفُ عَنْهُمُ اُ۬لْعَذَابُ وَلَا هُمْ يُنظَرُونَ ﱖ

Khâlidîna fîhâ lâ yukhaffafu ‘anhumu l‘adhâbu walâ hum yunzarûn

Ils y demeureront éternellement. Le châtiment ne leur sera pas allégé, et ils n'auront aucun répit

Abiding eternally therein. The punishment will not be lightened for them, nor will they be reprieved

إِلَّا اَ۬لذِينَ تَابُواْ مِنۢ بَعْدِ ذَٰلِكَ وَأَصْلَحُواْ فَإِنَّ اَ۬للَّهَ غَفُورٞ رَّحِيمٌۖ ﱗ

Illâ lladhîna tâbû mim ba‘di dhâlika wa'aslahû fa'inna llâha ghafûrur rahîm

excepté ceux qui par la suite se repentiront et se réformeront: car Allah est certes Pardonneur et Miséricordieux

Except for those who repent after that and correct themselves. For indeed, Allah is Forgiving and Merciful

اِنَّ اَ۬لذِينَ كَفَرُواْ بَعْدَ إِيمَٰنِهِمْ ثُمَّ اَ۪زْدَادُواْ كُفْراٗ لَّن تُقْبَلَ تَوْبَتُهُمْۖ وَأُوْلَٰٓئِكَ هُمُ اُ۬لضَّآلُّونَۖ ﱘ

Inna lladhîna kafarû ba‘da îmânihim thumma zdâdû kufral lan tuqbala tawbatuhum wa'ulâ'ika humu ddâllûn

En vérité, ceux qui ne croient plus après avoir eu la foi, et laissent augmenter encore leur mécréance, leur repentir ne sera jamais accepté. Ceux-là sont vraiment les égarés

Indeed, those who reject the message after their belief and then increase in disbelief - never will their [claimed] repentance be accepted, and they are the ones astray

إِنَّ اَ۬لذِينَ كَفَرُواْ وَمَاتُواْ وَهُمْ كُفَّارٞ فَلَنْ يُّقْبَلَ مِنَ اَحَدِهِم مِّلْءُ اُ۬لَارْضِ ذَهَباٗ وَلَوِ اِ۪فْتَد۪ىٰ بِهِۦٓۖ أُوْلَٰٓئِكَ لَهُمْ عَذَابٌ اَلِيمٞۖ وَمَا لَهُم مِّن نَّٰصِرِينَۖ ﱙ

Inna lladhîna kafarû wamâtû wahum kuffârun falay yuqbala mina hadihim mil'u lardi dhahaban walawi ftadê bihî ulâ'ika lahum ‘adhâbuna lîmun wamâ lahum min nasirîn

Ceux qui ne croient pas et qui meurent mécréants, il ne sera jamais accepté, d'aucun d'eux de se racheter même si pour cela il (donnait) le contenu, en or, de la terre. Ils auront un châtiment douloureux, et ils n'auront point de secoureurs

Indeed, those who disbelieve and die while they are disbelievers - never would the [whole] capacity of the earth in gold be accepted from one of them if he would [seek to] ransom himself with it. For those there will be a painful punishment, and they will have no helpers

۞ لَن تَنَالُواْ اُ۬لْبِرَّ حَتَّىٰ تُنفِقُواْ مِمَّا تُحِبُّونَۖ ﱚ

Lan tanâlû lbirra hattâ tunfiqû mimmâ tuhibbûn

Vous n'atteindrez la (vraie) piété, que si vous faites largesses de ce que vous chérissez. Tout ce dont vous faites largesses, Allah le sait certainement bien

Never will you attain the good [reward] until you spend [in the way of Allah] from that which you love. And whatever you spend - indeed, Allah is Knowing of it

وَمَا تُنفِقُواْ مِن شَےْءٖ فَإِنَّ اَ۬للَّهَ بِهِۦ عَلِيمٞۖ ﱛ

Wamâ tunfiqû min shay'in fa'inna llâha bihî ‘alîm

كُلُّ اُ۬لطَّعَامِ كَانَ حِلّاٗ لِّبَنِےٓ إِسْرَآءِيلَ إِلَّا مَا حَرَّمَ إِسْرَآءِيلُ عَلَىٰ نَفْسِهِۦ مِن قَبْلِ أَن تُنَزَّلَ اَ۬لتَّوْر۪يٰةُۖ قُلْ فَاتُواْ بِالتَّوْر۪يٰةِ فَاتْلُوهَآ إِن كُنتُمْ صَٰدِقِينَۖ ﱜ

Kullu tta‘âmi kâna hillal libanî isrâ'îla illâ mâ harrama isrâ'îlu ‘alâ nafsihî min qabli an tunazzala ttawrêtu qul fâtû bittawrêti fatlûhâ in kuntum sâdiqîn

Toute nourriture était licite aux enfants d'Israël, sauf celle qu'Israël lui-même s'interdit avant que ne descendît la Thora. Dis-[leur]: «Apportez la Thora et lisez-la, si ce que vous dites est vrai!»

All food was lawful to the Children of Israel except what Israel had made unlawful to himself before the Torah was revealed. Say, [O Muhammad], "So bring the Torah and recite it, if you should be truthful

فَمَنِ اِ۪فْتَر۪ىٰ عَلَى اَ۬للَّهِ اِ۬لْكَذِبَ مِنۢ بَعْدِ ذَٰلِكَ فَأُوْلَٰٓئِكَ هُمُ اُ۬لظَّٰلِمُونَۖ ﱝ

Famani ftarê ‘alâ llâhi lkadhiba mim ba‘di dhâlika fa'ulâ'ika humu zzâlimûn

Donc, quiconque, après cela, invente des mensonges contre Allah... ceux-là sont, donc, les vrais injustes

And whoever invents about Allah untruth after that - then those are [truly] the wrongdoers

قُلْ صَدَقَ اَ۬للَّهُۖ فَاتَّبِعُواْ مِلَّةَ إِبْرَٰهِيمَ حَنِيفاٗۖ وَمَا كَانَ مِنَ اَ۬لْمُشْرِكِينَۖ ﱞ

Qul sadaqa llâhu fattabi‘û millata ibrâhîma hanîfan wamâ kâna mina lmushrikîn

Dis: «C'est Allah qui dit la vérité. Suivez donc la religion d'Abraham, Musulman droit. Et il n'était point des associateurs»

Say, "Allah has told the truth. So follow the religion of Abraham, inclining toward truth; and he was not of the polytheists

إِنَّ أَوَّلَ بَيْتٖ وُضِعَ لِلنَّاسِ لَلذِے بِبَكَّةَ مُبَٰرَكاٗ وَهُدىٗ لِّلْعَٰلَمِينَ ﱟ

Inna awwala baytin wudi‘a linnâsi lalladhî bibakkata mubârakan wahudal lil‘âlamîn

La première Maison qui ait été édifiée pour les gens, c'est bien celle de Bakka (la Mecque) bénie et une bonne direction pour l'univers

Indeed, the first House [of worship] established for mankind was that at Makkah - blessed and a guidance for the worlds

فِيهِ ءَايَٰتُۢ بَيِّنَٰتٞۖ مَّقَامُ إِبْرَٰهِيمَۖ وَمَن دَخَلَهُۥ كَانَ ءَامِناٗۖ وَلِلهِ عَلَى اَ۬لنَّاسِ حَجُّ اُ۬لْبَيْتِ مَنِ اِ۪سْتَطَاعَ إِلَيْهِ سَبِيلاٗۖ وَمَن كَفَرَ فَإِنَّ اَ۬للَّهَ غَنِيٌّ عَنِ اِ۬لْعَٰلَمِينَۖ ﱠ

Fîhi âyâtum bayyinâtum maqâmu ibrâhîma waman dakhalahû kâna âminan walillâhi ‘alâ nnâsi hajju lbayti mani statâ‘a ilayhi sabîlan waman kafara fa'inna llâha ghaniyyun ‘ani l‘âlamîn

Là sont des signes évidents, parmi lesquels l'endroit où Abraham s'est tenu debout; et quiconque y entre est en sécurité. Et c'est un devoir envers Allah pour les gens qui ont les moyens, d'aller faire le pèlerinage de la Maison. Et quiconque ne croit pas... Allah Se passe largement des mondes

In it are clear signs [such as] the standing place of Abraham. And whoever enters it shall be safe. And [due] to Allah from the people is a pilgrimage to the House - for whoever is able to find thereto a way. But whoever disbelieves - then indeed, Allah is free from need of the worlds

قُلْ يَٰٓأَهْلَ اَ۬لْكِتَٰبِ لِمَ تَكْفُرُونَ بِـَٔايَٰتِ اِ۬للَّهِ وَاللَّهُ شَهِيدٌ عَلَىٰ مَا تَعْمَلُونَۖ ﱡ

Qul yâ'ahla lkitâbi lima takfurûna bi'âyâti llâhi wallâhu shahîdun ‘alâ mâ ta‘malûn

Dis: «O gens du Livre, pourquoi ne croyez-vous pas aux versets d'Allah (al-Qur'ân), alors qu'Allah est témoin de ce que vous faites?»

Say, "O People of the Scripture, why do you disbelieve in the verses of Allah while Allah is Witness over what you do

قُلْ يَٰٓأَهْلَ اَ۬لْكِتَٰبِ لِمَ تَصُدُّونَ عَن سَبِيلِ اِ۬للَّهِ مَنَ اٰمَنَ تَبْغُونَهَا عِوَجاٗ وَأَنتُمْ شُهَدَآءُۖ وَمَا اَ۬للَّهُ بِغَٰفِلٍ عَمَّا تَعْمَلُونَۖ ﱢ

Qul yâ'ahla lkitâbi lima tasuddûna ‘an sabîli llâhi mana âmana tabghûnahâ ‘iwajan wa'antum shuhadâ'u wamâ llâhu bighâfilin ‘ammâ ta‘malûn

Dis: «O gens du Livre, pourquoi obstruez-vous la voie d'Allah à celui qui a la foi, et pourquoi voulez-vous rendre cette voie tortueuse, alors que vous êtes témoins de la vérité!» Et Allah n'est pas inattentif à ce que vous faites

Say, "O People of the Scripture, why do you avert from the way of Allah those who believe, seeking to make it [seem] deviant, while you are witnesses [to the truth]? And Allah is not unaware of what you do

يَٰٓأَيُّهَا اَ۬لذِينَ ءَامَنُوٓاْ إِن تُطِيعُواْ فَرِيقاٗ مِّنَ اَ۬لذِينَ أُوتُواْ اُ۬لْكِتَٰبَ يَرُدُّوكُم بَعْدَ إِيمَٰنِكُمْ كٰ۪فِرِينَۖ ﱣ

Yâ'ayyuhâ lladhîna âmanû in tutî‘û farîqam mina lladhîna ûtû lkitâba yaruddûkum ba‘da îmânikum kêfirîn

O les croyants! Si vous obéissez à un groupe de ceux auxquels on a donné le Livre, il vous rendra mécréants après que vous ayez eu la foi

O you who have believed, if you obey a party of those who were given the Scripture, they would turn you back, after your belief, [to being] unbelievers

وَكَيْفَ تَكْفُرُونَ وَأَنتُمْ تُتْل۪ىٰ عَلَيْكُمُۥٓ ءَايَٰتُ اُ۬للَّهِ وَفِيكُمْ رَسُولُهُۥۖ وَمَنْ يَّعْتَصِم بِاللَّهِ فَقَدْ هُدِيَ إِلَىٰ صِرَٰطٖ مُّسْتَقِيمٖۖ ﱤ

Wakayfa takfurûna wa'antum tutlê ‘alaykumû âyâtu llâhi wafîkum rasûluhû wamay ya‘tasim billâhi faqad hudiya ilâ sirâtim mustaqîm

Et comment pouvez-vous ne pas croire, alors que les versets d'Allah vous sont récités, et qu'au milieu de vous se tient Son messager? Quiconque s'attache fortement à Allah, il est certes guidé vers un droit chemin

And how could you disbelieve while to you are being recited the verses of Allah and among you is His Messenger? And whoever holds firmly to Allah has [indeed] been guided to a straight path

يَٰٓأَيُّهَا اَ۬لذِينَ ءَامَنُواْ اُ۪تَّقُواْ اُ۬للَّهَ حَقَّ تُق۪اتِهِۦۖ وَلَا تَمُوتُنَّ إِلَّا وَأَنتُم مُّسْلِمُونَۖ ﱥ

Yâ'ayyuhâ lladhîna âmanû ttaqû llâha haqqa tuqêtihî walâ tamûtunna illâ wa'antum muslimûn

O les croyants! Craignez Allah comme Il doit être craint. Et ne mourez qu'en pleine soumission

O you who have believed, fear Allah as He should be feared and do not die except as Muslims [in submission to Him]

۞ وَاعْتَصِمُواْ بِحَبْلِ اِ۬للَّهِ جَمِيعاٗۖ وَلَا تَفَرَّقُواْۖ وَاذْكُرُواْ نِعْمَتَ اَ۬للَّهِ عَلَيْكُمُۥٓ إِذْ كُنتُمُۥٓ أَعْدَآءٗ فَأَلَّفَ بَيْنَ قُلُوبِكُمْ فَأَصْبَحْتُم بِنِعْمَتِهِۦٓ إِخْوَٰناٗۖ وَكُنتُمْ عَلَىٰ شَفَا حُفْرَةٖ مِّنَ اَ۬لنّ۪ارِ فَأَنقَذَكُم مِّنْهَاۖ كَذَٰلِكَ يُبَيِّنُ اُ۬للَّهُ لَكُمُۥٓ ءَايَٰتِهِۦ لَعَلَّكُمْ تَهْتَدُونَۖ ﱦ

Wa‘tasimû bihabli llâhi jamî‘an walâ tafarraqû wadhkurû ni‘mata llâhi ‘alaykumû idh kuntumû a‘dâ'an fa'allafa bayna qulûbikum fa'asbahtum bini‘matihî ikhwânan wakuntum ‘alâ shafâ hufratim mina nnêri fa'anqadhakum minhâ kadhâlika yubayyinu llâhu lakumû âyâtihî la‘allakum tahtadûn

Et cramponnez-vous tous ensemble au «Habl» (câble) d'Allah et ne soyez pas divisés; et rappelez-vous le bienfait d'Allah sur vous: lorsque vous étiez ennemis, c'est Lui qui réconcilia vos cœurs. Puis, par Son bienfait, vous êtes devenus frères. Et alors que vous étiez au bord d'un abîme de Feu, c'est Lui qui vous en a sauvés. Ainsi Allah vous montre Ses signes afin que vous soyez bien guidés

And hold firmly to the rope of Allah all together and do not become divided. And remember the favor of Allah upon you - when you were enemies and He brought your hearts together and you became, by His favor, brothers. And you were on the edge of a pit of the Fire, and He saved you from it. Thus does Allah make clear to you His verses that you may be guided

وَلْتَكُن مِّنكُمُۥٓ أُمَّةٞ يَدْعُونَ إِلَى اَ۬لْخَيْرِ وَيَامُرُونَ بِالْمَعْرُوفِ وَيَنْهَوْنَ عَنِ اِ۬لْمُنكَرِۖ وَأُوْلَٰٓئِكَ هُمُ اُ۬لْمُفْلِحُونَۖ ﱧ

Waltakum minkumû ummatun yad‘ûna ilâ lkhayri wayâmurûna bilma‘rûfi wayanhawna ‘ani lmunkari wa'ulâ'ika humu lmuflihûn

Que soit issue de vous une communauté qui appelle au bien, ordonne le convenable, et interdit le blâmable. Car ce seront eux qui réussiront

And let there be [arising] from you a nation inviting to [all that is] good, enjoining what is right and forbidding what is wrong, and those will be the successful

وَلَا تَكُونُواْ كَالذِينَ تَفَرَّقُواْ وَاخْتَلَفُواْ مِنۢ بَعْدِ مَا جَآءَهُمُ اُ۬لْبَيِّنَٰتُۖ وَأُوْلَٰٓئِكَ لَهُمْ عَذَابٌ عَظِيمٞ ﱨ

Walâ takûnû kalladhîna tafarraqû wakhtalafû mim ba‘di mâ jâ'ahumu lbayyinâtu wa'ulâ'ika lahum ‘adhâbun ‘azîm

Et ne soyez pas comme ceux qui se sont divisés et se sont mis à disputer, après que les preuves leur furent venues, et ceux-là auront un énorme châtiment

And do not be like the ones who became divided and differed after the clear proofs had come to them. And those will have a great punishment

يَوْمَ تَبْيَضُّ وُجُوهٞ وَتَسْوَدُّ وُجُوهٞۖ فَأَمَّا اَ۬لذِينَ اَ۪سْوَدَّتْ وُجُوهُهُمُۥٓ أَكَفَرْتُم بَعْدَ إِيمَٰنِكُمْ فَذُوقُواْ اُ۬لْعَذَابَ بِمَا كُنتُمْ تَكْفُرُونَۖ ﱩ

Yawma tabyaddu wujûhun wataswaddu wujûhun fa'ammâ lladhîna swaddat wujûhuhumû akafartum ba‘da îmânikum fadhûqû l‘adhâba bimâ kuntum takfurûn

Au jour où certains visages s'éclaireront, et que d'autres s'assombriront. A ceux dont les visages seront assombris (il sera dit): «avez-vous mécru après avoir eu la foi?» Eh bien, goûtez au châtiment, pour avoir renié la foi

On the Day [some] faces will turn white and [some] faces will turn black. As for those whose faces turn black, [to them it will be said], "Did you disbelieve after your belief? Then taste the punishment for what you used to reject

وَأَمَّا اَ۬لذِينَ اَ۪بْيَضَّتْ وُجُوهُهُمْ فَفِے رَحْمَةِ اِ۬للَّهِۖ هُمْ فِيهَا خَٰلِدُونَۖ ﱪ

Wa'ammâ lladhîna byaddat wujûhuhum fafî rahmati llâhi hum fîhâ khâlidûn

Et quant à ceux dont les visages s'éclaireront, ils seront dans la miséricorde d'Allah, où ils demeureront éternellement

But as for those whose faces will turn white, [they will be] within the mercy of Allah. They will abide therein eternally

تِلْكَ ءَايَٰتُ اُ۬للَّهِ نَتْلُوهَا عَلَيْكَ بِالْحَقِّۖ وَمَا اَ۬للَّهُ يُرِيدُ ظُلْماٗ لِّلْعَٰلَمِينَۖ ﱫ

Tilka âyâtu llâhi natlûhâ ‘alayka bilhaqqi wamâ llâhu yurîdu zulmal lil‘âlamîn

Tels sont les versets d'Allah; Nous te (Muhammad) les récitons avec vérité. Et Allah ne veut point léser les mondes

These are the verses of Allah. We recite them to you, [O Muhammad], in truth; and Allah wants no injustice to the worlds

وَلِلهِ مَا فِے اِ۬لسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَمَا فِے اِ۬لَارْضِۖ وَإِلَى اَ۬للَّهِ تُرْجَعُ اُ۬لُامُورُۖ ﱬ

Walillâhi mâ fî ssamâwâti wamâ fî lardi wa'ilâ llâhi turja‘u lumûr

A Allah appartient tout ce qui est dans les cieux et sur la terre. Et c'est vers Allah que toute chose sera ramenée

To Allah belongs whatever is in the heavens and whatever is on the earth. And to Allah will [all] matters be returned

كُنتُمْ خَيْرَ أُمَّةٍ ا۟خْرِجَتْ لِلنَّاسِ تَامُرُونَ بِالْمَعْرُوفِ وَتَنْهَوْنَ عَنِ اِ۬لْمُنكَرِ وَتُومِنُونَ بِاللَّهِۖ وَلَوَ اٰمَنَ أَهْلُ اُ۬لْكِتَٰبِ لَكَانَ خَيْراٗ لَّهُمۖ مِّنْهُمُ اُ۬لْمُومِنُونَۖ وَأَكْثَرُهُمُ اُ۬لْفَٰسِقُونَۖ ﱭ

Kuntum khayra ummatin ukhrijat linnâsi tâmurûna bilma‘rûfi watanhawna ‘ani lmunkari watûminûna billâhi walawa âmana ahlu lkitâbi lakâna khayral lahum minhumu lmûminûna wa'aktharuhumu lfâsiqûn

Vous êtes la meilleure communauté, qu'on ait fait surgir pour les hommes. Vous ordonnez le convenable, interdisez le blâmable et croyez à Allah. Si les gens du Livre croyaient, ce serait meilleur pour eux, il y en a qui ont la foi, mais la plupart d'entre eux sont des pervers

You are the best nation produced [as an example] for mankind. You enjoin what is right and forbid what is wrong and believe in Allah. If only the People of the Scripture had believed, it would have been better for them. Among them are believers, but most of them are defiantly disobedient

لَنْ يَّضُرُّوكُمُۥٓۖ إِلَّآ أَذىٗۖ وَإِنْ يُّقَٰتِلُوكُمْ يُوَلُّوكُمُ اُ۬لَادْبَٰرَۖ ثُمَّ لَا يُنصَرُونَۖ ﱮ

Lay yadurrûkumû illâ adhan wa'iy yuqâtilûkum yuwallûkumu ladbâra thumma lâ yunsarûn

Ils ne sauront jamais vous causer de grand mal, seulement une nuisance (par la langue); et s'ils vous combattent, ils vous tourneront le dos, et ils n'auront alors point de secours

They will not harm you except for [some] annoyance. And if they fight you, they will show you their backs; then they will not be aided

ضُرِبَتْ عَلَيْهِمُ اُ۬لذِّلَّةُ أَيْنَ مَا ثُقِفُوٓاْۖ إِلَّا بِحَبْلٖ مِّنَ اَ۬للَّهِ وَحَبْلٖ مِّنَ اَ۬لنَّاسِ وَبَآءُو بِغَضَبٖ مِّنَ اَ۬للَّهِۖ وَضُرِبَتْ عَلَيْهِمُ اُ۬لْمَسْكَنَةُۖ ذَٰلِكَ بِأَنَّهُمْ كَانُواْ يَكْفُرُونَ بِـَٔايَٰتِ اِ۬للَّهِ وَيَقْتُلُونَ اَ۬لَانۢبِئَآءَ بِغَيْرِ حَقّٖۖ ذَٰلِكَ بِمَا عَصَواْ وَّكَانُواْ يَعْتَدُونَۖ ﱯ

Duribat ‘alayhimu dhdhillatu ayna mâ thuqifû illâ bihablim mina llâhi wahablim mina nnâsi wabâ'û bighadabim mina llâhi waduribat ‘alayhimu lmaskanatu dhâlika bi'annahum kânû yakfurûna bi'âyâti llâhi wayaqtulûna lambî'â'a bighayri haqqin dhâlika bimâ ‘asaw wakânû ya‘tadûn

Où qu'ils se trouvent, ils sont frappés d'avilissement, à moins d'un secours providentiel d'Allah ou d'un pacte conclu avec les hommes. Ils ont encouru la colère d'Allah, et les voilà frappés de malheur, pour n'avoir pas cru aux signes d'Allah, et assassiné injustement les prophètes, et aussi pour avoir désobéi et transgressé

They have been put under humiliation [by Allah] wherever they are overtaken, except for a covenant from Allah and a rope from the Muslims. And they have drawn upon themselves anger from Allah and have been put under destitution. That is because they disbelieved in the verses of Allah and killed the prophets without right. That is because they disobeyed and [habitually] transgressed

۞ لَيْسُواْ سَوَآءٗۖ مِّنَ اَهْلِ اِ۬لْكِتَٰبِ أُمَّةٞ قَآئِمَةٞ يَتْلُونَ ءَايَٰتِ اِ۬للَّهِ ءَانَآءَ اَ۬ليْلِ وَهُمْ يَسْجُدُونَۖ ﱰ

Laysû sawâ'am mina hli lkitâbi ummatun qâ'imatun yatlûna âyâti llâhi ânâ'a llayli wahum yasjudûn

Mais ils ne sont pas tous pareils. Il est, parmi les gens du Livre, une communauté droite qui, aux heures de la nuit, récite les versets d'Allah en se prosternant

They are not [all] the same; among the People of the Scripture is a community standing [in obedience], reciting the verses of Allah during periods of the night and prostrating [in prayer]

يُومِنُونَ بِاللَّهِ وَالْيَوْمِ اِ۬لَاخِرِ وَيَامُرُونَ بِالْمَعْرُوفِ وَيَنْهَوْنَ عَنِ اِ۬لْمُنكَرِ وَيُسَٰرِعُونَ فِے اِ۬لْخَيْرَٰتِۖ وَأُوْلَٰٓئِكَ مِنَ اَ۬لصَّٰلِحِينَۖ ﱱ

Yûminûna billâhi walyawmi lakhiri wayâmurûna bilma‘rûfi wayanhawna ‘ani lmunkari wayusâri‘ûna fî lkhayrâti wa'ulâ'ika mina ssâlihîn

Ils croient en Allah et au Jour dernier, ordonnent le convenable, interdisent le blâmable et concourent aux bonnes œuvres. Ceux-là sont parmi les gens de bien

They believe in Allah and the Last Day, and they enjoin what is right and forbid what is wrong and hasten to good deeds. And those are among the righteous

وَمَا تَفْعَلُواْ مِنْ خَيْرٖ فَلَن تُكْفَرُوهُۖ وَاللَّهُ عَلِيمُۢ بِالْمُتَّقِينَۖ ﱲ

Wamâ taf‘alû min khayrin falan tukfarûhu wallâhu ‘alîmum bilmuttaqîn

Et quelque bien qu'ils fassent, il ne leur sera pas dénié. Car Allah connaît bien les pieux

And whatever good they do - never will it be removed from them. And Allah is Knowing of the righteous

إِنَّ اَ۬لذِينَ كَفَرُواْ لَن تُغْنِيَ عَنْهُمُۥٓ أَمْوَٰلُهُمْ وَلَآ أَوْلَٰدُهُم مِّنَ اَ۬للَّهِ شَئْاٗۖ وَأُوْلَٰٓئِكَ أَصْحَٰبُ اُ۬لنّ۪ارِ هُمْ فِيهَا خَٰلِدُونَۖ ﱳ

Inna lladhîna kafarû lan tughniya ‘anhumû amwâluhum walâ awlâduhum mina llâhi shay'an wa'ulâ'ika ashâbu nnêri hum fîhâ khâlidûn

Quant à ceux qui ne croient pas, ni leurs biens, ni leurs enfants ne pourront jamais leur servir contre la punition d'Allah. Et ce sont les gens du Feu: ils y demeureront éternellement

Indeed, those who disbelieve - never will their wealth or their children avail them against Allah at all, and those are the companions of the Fire; they will abide therein eternally

مَثَلُ مَا يُنفِقُونَ فِے هَٰذِهِ اِ۬لْحَيَوٰةِ اِ۬لدُّنْي۪ا كَمَثَلِ رِيحٖ فِيهَا صِرٌّ اَصَابَتْ حَرْثَ قَوْمٖ ظَلَمُوٓاْ أَنفُسَهُمْ فَأَهْلَكَتْهُۖ وَمَا ظَلَمَهُمُ اُ۬للَّهُۖ وَلَٰكِنَ اَنفُسَهُمْ يَظْلِمُونَۖ ﱴ

Mathalu mâ yunfiqûna fî hâdhihi lhayawâti ddunyê kamathali rîhin fîhâ sirruna sâbat hartha qawmin zalamû anfusahum fa'ahlakathu wamâ zalamahumu llâhu walâkina nfusahum yazlimûn

Ce qu'ils dépensent dans la vie présente ressemble à un vent glacial qui s'abat sur un champ appartenant à des gens qui se sont lésés eux-mêmes, et le détruit. Car ce n'est pas Allah qui leur cause du mal, mais ils se font du mal à eux-mêmes

The example of what they spend in this worldly life is like that of a wind containing frost which strikes the harvest of a people who have wronged themselves and destroys it. And Allah has not wronged them, but they wrong themselves

يَٰٓأَيُّهَا اَ۬لذِينَ ءَامَنُواْ لَا تَتَّخِذُواْ بِطَانَةٗ مِّن دُونِكُمْ لَا يَالُونَكُمْ خَبَالاٗ وَدُّواْ مَا عَنِتُّمْۖ قَدْ بَدَتِ اِ۬لْبَغْضَآءُ مِنَ اَفْوَٰهِهِمْ وَمَا تُخْفِے صُدُورُهُمُۥٓ أَكْبَرُۖ قَدْ بَيَّنَّا لَكُمُ اُ۬لَايَٰتِ إِن كُنتُمْ تَعْقِلُونَۖ ﱵ

Yâ'ayyuhâ lladhîna âmanû lâ tattakhidhû bitânatam min dûnikum lâ yâlûnakum khabâlan waddû mâ ‘anittum qad badati lbaghdâ'u mina fwâhihim wamâ tukhfî sudûruhumû akbaru qad bayyannâ lakumu layâti in kuntum ta‘qilûn

O les croyants, ne prenez pas de confidents en dehors de vous-mêmes: ils ne failliront pas à vous bouleverser. Ils souhaiteraient que vous soyez en difficulté. La haine certes s'est manifestée dans leurs bouches, mais ce que leurs poitrines cachent est encore plus énorme. Voilà que Nous vous exposons les signes. Si vous pouviez raisonner

O you who have believed, do not take as intimates those other than yourselves, for they will not spare you [any] ruin. They wish you would have hardship. Hatred has already appeared from their mouths, and what their breasts conceal is greater. We have certainly made clear to you the signs, if you will use reason

هَآنتُمُۥٓ أُوْلَآءِ تُحِبُّونَهُمْ وَلَا يُحِبُّونَكُمْ وَتُومِنُونَ بِالْكِتَٰبِ كُلِّهِۦۖ وَإِذَا لَقُوكُمْ قَالُوٓاْ ءَامَنَّاۖ وَإِذَا خَلَوْاْ عَضُّواْ عَلَيْكُمُ اُ۬لَانَامِلَ مِنَ اَ۬لْغَيْظِۖ قُلْ مُوتُواْ بِغَيْظِكُمُۥٓۖ إِنَّ اَ۬للَّهَ عَلِيمُۢ بِذَاتِ اِ۬لصُّدُورِۖ ﱶ

Hântumû ulâ'i tuhibbûnahum walâ yuhibbûnakum watûminûna bilkitâbi kullihî wa'idhâ laqûkum qâlû âmannâ wa'idhâ khalaw ‘addû ‘alaykumu lanâmila mina lghayzi qul mûtû bighayzikumû inna llâha ‘alîmum bidhâti ssudûr

Vous, (Musulmans) vous les aimez, alors qu'ils ne vous aiment pas; et vous avez foi dans le Livre tout entier. Et lorsqu'ils vous rencontrent, ils disent: «Nous croyons» et une fois seuls, de rage contre vous, ils se mordent les bouts des doigts. Dis: «mourez de votre rage». En vérité, Allah connaît fort bien le contenu des cœurs

Here you are loving them but they are not loving you, while you believe in the Scripture - all of it. And when they meet you, they say, "We believe." But when they are alone, they bite their fingertips at you in rage. Say, "Die in your rage. Indeed, Allah is Knowing of that within the breasts

إِن تَمْسَسْكُمْ حَسَنَةٞ تَسُؤْهُمْۖ وَإِن تُصِبْكُمْ سَيِّئَةٞ يَفْرَحُواْ بِهَاۖ وَإِن تَصْبِرُواْ وَتَتَّقُواْ لَا يَضِرْكُمْ كَيْدُهُمْ شَئْاًۖ اِنَّ اَ۬للَّهَ بِمَا يَعْمَلُونَ مُحِيطٞۖ ﱷ

In tamsaskum hasanatun tasu'hum wa'in tusibkum sayyî'atun yafrahû bihâ wa'in tasbirû watattaqû lâ yadirkum kayduhum shay'ani nna llâha bimâ ya‘malûna muhît

Qu'un bien vous touche, ils s'en affligent. Qu'un mal vous atteigne, ils s'en réjouissent. Mais si vous êtes endurants et pieux, leur manigance ne vous causera aucun mal. Allah connaît parfaitement tout ce qu'ils font

If good touches you, it distresses them; but if harm strikes you, they rejoice at it. And if you are patient and fear Allah, their plot will not harm you at all. Indeed, Allah is encompassing of what they do

۞ وَإِذْ غَدَوْتَ مِنَ اَهْلِكَ تُبَوِّۓُ اُ۬لْمُومِنِينَ مَقَٰعِدَ لِلْقِتَالِۖ وَاللَّهُ سَمِيعٌ عَلِيمٌۖ ﱸ

Wa'idh ghadawta mina hlika tubawwî'u lmûminîna maqâ‘ida lilqitâli wallâhu samî‘un ‘alîm

Lorsqu'un matin, tu (Muhammad) quittas ta famille, pour assigner aux croyants les postes de combat et Allah est Audient et Omniscient

And [remember] when you, [O Muhammad], left your family in the morning to post the believers at their stations for the battle [of Uhud] - and Allah is Hearing and Knowing

اِذْ هَمَّت طَّآئِفَتَٰنِ مِنكُمُۥٓ أَن تَفْشَلَا وَاللَّهُ وَلِيُّهُمَاۖ وَعَلَى اَ۬للَّهِ فَلْيَتَوَكَّلِ اِ۬لْمُومِنُونَۖ ﱹ

Idh hammat tâ'ifatâni minkumû an tafshalâ wallâhu waliyyuhumâ wa‘alâ llâhi falyatawakkali lmûminûn

Quand deux de vos groupes songèrent à fléchir! Alors qu'Allah est leur allié à tous deux! Car, c'est en Allah que les croyants doivent placer leur confiance

When two parties among you were about to lose courage, but Allah was their ally; and upon Allah the believers should rely

وَلَقَدْ نَصَرَكُمُ اُ۬للَّهُ بِبَدْرٖ وَأَنتُمُۥٓ أَذِلَّةٞۖ فَاتَّقُواْ اُ۬للَّهَ لَعَلَّكُمْ تَشْكُرُونَۖ ﱺ

Walaqad nasarakumu llâhu bibadrin wa'antumû adhillatun fattaqû llâha la‘allakum tashkurûn

Allah vous a donné la victoire, à Badr, alors que vous étiez humiliés. Craignez Allah donc. Afin que vous soyez reconnaissants

And already had Allah given you victory at [the battle of] Badr while you were few in number. Then fear Allah; perhaps you will be grateful

إِذْ تَقُولُ لِلْمُومِنِينَ أَلَنْ يَّكْفِيَكُمُۥٓ أَنْ يُّمِدَّكُمْ رَبُّكُم بِثَلَٰثَةِ ءَالَٰفٖ مِّنَ اَ۬لْمَلَٰٓئِكَةِ مُنزَلِينَۖ ﱻ

Idh taqûlu lilmûminîna alay yakfiyakumû ay yumiddakum rabbukum bithalâthati âlâfim mina lmalâ'ikati munzalîn

(Allah vous a bien donné la victoire) lorsque tu disais aux croyants; «Ne vous suffit-il pas que votre Seigneur vous fasse descendre en aide trois milliers d'Anges?»

[Remember] when you said to the believers, "Is it not sufficient for you that your Lord should reinforce you with three thousand angels sent down

بَل۪ىٰٓ إِن تَصْبِرُواْ وَتَتَّقُواْ وَيَاتُوكُم مِّن فَوْرِهِمْ هَٰذَا يُمْدِدْكُمْ رَبُّكُم بِخَمْسَةِ ءَالَٰفٖ مِّنَ اَ۬لْمَلَٰٓئِكَةِ مُسَوَّمِينَۖ ﱼ

Balê in tasbirû watattaqû wayâtûkum min fawrihim hâdhâ yumdidkum rabbukum bikhamsati âlâfim mina lmalâ'ikati musawwamîn

Mais oui! Si vous êtes endurants et pieux, et qu'ils [les ennemis] vous assaillent immédiatement, votre Seigneur vous enverra en renfort cinq mille Anges marqués distinctement

Yes, if you remain patient and conscious of Allah and the enemy come upon you [attacking] in rage, your Lord will reinforce you with five thousand angels having marks [of distinction]

وَمَا جَعَلَهُ اُ۬للَّهُ إِلَّا بُشْر۪ىٰ لَكُمْ وَلِتَطْمَئِنَّ قُلُوبُكُم بِهِۦۖ وَمَا اَ۬لنَّصْرُ إِلَّا مِنْ عِندِ اِ۬للَّهِ اِ۬لْعَزِيزِ اِ۬لْحَكِيمِ ﱽ

Wamâ ja‘alahu llâhu illâ bushrê lakum walitatma'inna qulûbukum bihî wamâ nnasru illâ min ‘indi llâhi l‘azîzi lhakîm

Et Allah ne le fit que (pour vous annoncer) une bonne nouvelle, et pour que vos cœurs s'en rassurent. La victoire ne peut venir que d'Allah, le Puissant, le Sage

And Allah made it not except as [a sign of] good tidings for you and to reassure your hearts thereby. And victory is not except from Allah, the Exalted in Might, the Wise

لِيَقْطَعَ طَرَفاٗ مِّنَ اَ۬لذِينَ كَفَرُوٓاْ أَوْ يَكْبِتَهُمْ فَيَنقَلِبُواْ خَآئِبِينَ ﱾ

Liyaqta‘a tarafam mina lladhîna kafarû aw yakbitahum fayanqalibû khâ'ibîn

pour anéantir une partie des mécréants ou pour les humilier (par la défaite) et qu'ils en retournent donc déçus

That He might cut down a section of the disbelievers or suppress them so that they turn back disappointed

لَيْسَ لَكَ مِنَ اَ۬لَامْرِ شَےْءٌ اَوْ يَتُوبَ عَلَيْهِمُۥٓ أَوْ يُعَذِّبَهُمْ فَإِنَّهُمْ ظَٰلِمُونَۖ ﱿ

Laysa laka mina lamri shay'una w yatûba ‘alayhimû aw yu‘adhdhibahum fa'innahum zâlimûn

Tu n'as (Muhammad) aucune part dans l'ordre (divin) - qu'Il (Allah) accepte leur repentir (en embrassant l'Islam) ou qu'Il les châtie, car ils sont bien des injustes

Not for you, [O Muhammad, but for Allah], is the decision whether He should [cut them down] or forgive them or punish them, for indeed, they are wrongdoers

وَلِلهِ مَا فِے اِ۬لسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَمَا فِے اِ۬لَارْضِۖ يَغْفِرُ لِمَنْ يَّشَآءُ وَيُعَذِّبُ مَنْ يَّشَآءُۖ وَاللَّهُ غَفُورٞ رَّحِيمٞۖ ﲀ

Walillâhi mâ fî ssamâwâti wamâ fî lardi yaghfiru limay yashâ'u wayu‘adhdhibu may yashâ'u wallâhu ghafûrur rahîm

A Allah appartient tout ce qui est dans les cieux et sur la terre. Il pardonne à qui Il veut, et Il châtie qui Il veut... Et Allah est Pardonneur et Miséricordieux

And to Allah belongs whatever is in the heavens and whatever is on the earth. He forgives whom He wills and punishes whom He wills. And Allah is Forgiving and Merciful

يَٰٓأَيُّهَا اَ۬لذِينَ ءَامَنُواْ لَا تَاكُلُواْ اُ۬لرِّبَوٰٓاْ أَضْعَٰفاٗ مُّضَٰعَفَةٗۖ وَاتَّقُواْ اُ۬للَّهَ لَعَلَّكُمْ تُفْلِحُونَۖ ﲁ

Yâ'ayyuhâ lladhîna âmanû lâ tâkulû rribawâ ad‘âfam mudâ‘afatan wattaqû llâha la‘allakum tuflihûn

O les croyants! Ne pratiquez pas l'usure en multipliant démesurément votre capital. Et craignez Allah afin que vous réussissiez

O you who have believed, do not consume usury, doubled and multiplied, but fear Allah that you may be successful

وَاتَّقُواْ اُ۬لنَّارَ اَ۬لتِےٓ أُعِدَّتْ لِلْكٰ۪فِرِينَۖ ﲂ

Wattaqû nnâra llatî u‘iddat lilkêfirîn

Et craignez le Feu préparé pour les mécréants

And fear the Fire, which has been prepared for the disbelievers

وَأَطِيعُواْ اُ۬للَّهَ وَالرَّسُولَ لَعَلَّكُمْ تُرْحَمُونَۖ ﲃ

Wa'atî‘û llâha warrasûla la‘allakum turhamûn

Et obéissez à Allah et au Messager afin qu'il vous soit fait miséricorde

And obey Allah and the Messenger that you may obtain mercy

۞ سَارِعُوٓاْ إِلَىٰ مَغْفِرَةٖ مِّن رَّبِّكُمْ وَجَنَّةٍ عَرْضُهَا اَ۬لسَّمَٰوَٰتُ وَالَارْضُ أُعِدَّتْ لِلْمُتَّقِينَ ﲄ

Sâri‘û ilâ maghfiratim mir rabbikum wajannatin ‘arduhâ ssamâwâtu walardu u‘iddat lilmuttaqîn

Et concourez au pardon de votre Seigneur, et à un Jardin (paradis) large comme les cieux et la terre, préparé pour les pieux

And hasten to forgiveness from your Lord and a garden as wide as the heavens and earth, prepared for the righteous

اَ۬لذِينَ يُنفِقُونَ فِے اِ۬لسَّرَّآءِ وَالضَّرَّآءِ وَالْكَٰظِمِينَ اَ۬لْغَيْظَ وَالْعَافِينَ عَنِ اِ۬لنَّاسِۖ وَاللَّهُ يُحِبُّ اُ۬لْمُحْسِنِينَۖ ﲅ

Alladhîna yunfiqûna fî ssarrâ'i waddarrâ'i walkâzimîna lghayza wal‘âfîna ‘ani nnâsi wallâhu yuhibbu lmuhsinîn

qui dépensent dans l'aisance et dans l'adversité, qui dominent leur rage et pardonnent à autrui - car Allah aime les bienfaisants

Who spend [in the cause of Allah] during ease and hardship and who restrain anger and who pardon the people - and Allah loves the doers of good

وَالذِينَ إِذَا فَعَلُواْ فَٰحِشَةً اَوْ ظَلَمُوٓاْ أَنفُسَهُمْ ذَكَرُواْ اُ۬للَّهَ فَاسْتَغْفَرُواْ لِذُنُوبِهِمْۖ وَمَنْ يَّغْفِرُ اُ۬لذُّنُوبَ إِلَّا اَ۬للَّهُۖ وَلَمْ يُصِرُّواْ عَلَىٰ مَا فَعَلُواْ وَهُمْ يَعْلَمُونَۖ ﲆ

Walladhîna idhâ fa‘alû fâhishatana w zalamû anfusahum dhakarû llâha fastaghfarû lidhunûbihim wamay yaghfiru dhdhunûba illâ llâhu walam yusirrû ‘alâ mâ fa‘alû wahum ya‘lamûn

et pour ceux qui, s'ils ont commis quelque turpitude ou causé quelque préjudice à leurs propres âmes (en désobéissant à Allah), se souviennent d'Allah et demandent pardon pour leurs péchés - et qui est-ce qui pardonne les péchés sinon Allah? - et qui ne persistent pas sciemment dans le mal qu'ils ont fait

And those who, when they commit an immorality or wrong themselves [by transgression], remember Allah and seek forgiveness for their sins - and who can forgive sins except Allah? - and [who] do not persist in what they have done while they know

أُوْلَٰٓئِكَ جَزَآؤُهُم مَّغْفِرَةٞ مِّن رَّبِّهِمْ وَجَنَّٰتٞ تَجْرِے مِن تَحْتِهَا اَ۬لَانْهَٰرُ خَٰلِدِينَ فِيهَاۖ وَنِعْمَ أَجْرُ اُ۬لْعَٰمِلِينَۖ ﲇ

Ulâ'ika jazâ'uhum maghfiratum mir rabbihim wajannâtun tajrî min tahtihâ lanhâru khâlidîna fîhâ wani‘ma ajru l‘âmilîn

Ceux-là ont pour récompense le pardon de leur Seigneur, ainsi que les Jardins sous lesquels coulent les ruisseaux, pour y demeurer éternellement. Comme est beau le salaire de ceux qui font le bien

Those - their reward is forgiveness from their Lord and gardens beneath which rivers flow [in Paradise], wherein they will abide eternally; and excellent is the reward of the [righteous] workers

قَدْ خَلَتْ مِن قَبْلِكُمْ سُنَنٞۖ فَسِيرُواْ فِے اِ۬لَارْضِ فَانظُرُواْ كَيْفَ كَانَ عَٰقِبَةُ اُ۬لْمُكَذِّبِينَۖ ﲈ

Qad khalat min qablikum sunanun fasîrû fî lardi fânzurû kayfa kâna ‘âqibatu lmukadhdhibîn

Avant vous, certes, beaucoup d'événements se sont passés. Or, parcourez la terre, et voyez ce qu'il est advenu de ceux qui traitaient (les prophètes) de menteurs

Similar situations [as yours] have passed on before you, so proceed throughout the earth and observe how was the end of those who denied

هَٰذَا بَيَانٞ لِّلنَّاسِ وَهُدىٗ وَمَوْعِظَةٞ لِّلْمُتَّقِينَۖ ﲉ

Hâdhâ bayânul linnâsi wahudan wamaw‘izatul lilmuttaqîn

Voilà un exposé pour les gens, un guide, et une exhortation pour les pieux

This [Qur'an] is a clear statement to [all] the people and a guidance and instruction for those conscious of Allah

وَلَا تَهِنُواْ وَلَا تَحْزَنُواْ وَأَنتُمُ اُ۬لَاعْلَوْنَ إِن كُنتُم مُّومِنِينَۖ ﲊ

Walâ tahinû walâ tahzanû wa'antumu la‘lawna in kuntum mûminîn

Ne vous laissez pas battre, ne vous affligez pas alors que vous êtes les supérieurs, si vous êtes de vrais croyants

So do not weaken and do not grieve, and you will be superior if you are [true] believers

إِنْ يَّمْسَسْكُمْ قَرْحٞ فَقَدْ مَسَّ اَ۬لْقَوْمَ قَرْحٞ مِّثْلُهُۥۖ وَتِلْكَ اَ۬لَايَّامُ نُدَاوِلُهَا بَيْنَ اَ۬لنَّاسِۖ وَلِيَعْلَمَ اَ۬للَّهُ اُ۬لذِينَ ءَامَنُواْ وَيَتَّخِذَ مِنكُمْ شُهَدَآءَۖ وَاللَّهُ لَا يُحِبُّ اُ۬لظَّٰلِمِينَۖ ﲋ

Iy yamsaskum qarhun faqad massa lqawma qarhum mithluhû watilka layyâmu nudâwiluhâ bayna nnâsi waliya‘lama llâhu lladhîna âmanû wayattakhidha minkum shuhadâ'a wallâhu lâ yuhibbu zzâlimîn

Si une blessure vous atteint, pareille blessure atteint aussi l'ennemi. Ainsi faisons-Nous alterner les jours (bons et mauvais) parmi les gens, afin qu'Allah reconnaisse ceux qui ont cru, et qu'Il choisisse parmi vous des martyrs - et Allah n'aime pas les injustes

If a wound should touch you - there has already touched the [opposing] people a wound similar to it. And these days [of varying conditions] We alternate among the people so that Allah may make evident those who believe and [may] take to Himself from among you martyrs - and Allah does not like the wrongdoers

وَلِيُمَحِّصَ اَ۬للَّهُ اُ۬لذِينَ ءَامَنُواْ وَيَمْحَقَ اَ۬لْكٰ۪فِرِينَۖ ﲌ

Waliyumahhisa llâhu lladhîna âmanû wayamhaqa lkêfirîn

et afin qu'Allah purifie ceux qui ont cru, et anéantisse les mécréants

And that Allah may purify the believers [through trials] and destroy the disbelievers

أَمْ حَسِبْتُمُۥٓ أَن تَدْخُلُواْ اُ۬لْجَنَّةَ وَلَمَّا يَعْلَمِ اِ۬للَّهُ اُ۬لذِينَ جَٰهَدُواْ مِنكُمْ وَيَعْلَمَ اَ۬لصَّٰبِرِينَۖ ﲍ

Am hasibtumû an tadkhulû ljannata walammâ ya‘lami llâhu lladhîna jâhadû minkum waya‘lama ssâbirîn

Comptez-vous entrer au Paradis sans qu'Allah ne distingue parmi vous ceux qui luttent et qui sont endurants

Or do you think that you will enter Paradise while Allah has not yet made evident those of you who fight in His cause and made evident those who are steadfast

وَلَقَدْ كُنتُمْ تَمَنَّوْنَ اَ۬لْمَوْتَ مِن قَبْلِ أَن تَلْقَوْهُ فَقَدْ رَأَيْتُمُوهُ وَأَنتُمْ تَنظُرُونَۖ ﲎ

Walaqad kuntum tamannawna lmawta min qabli an talqawhu faqad ra'aytumûhu wa'antum tanzurûn

Bien sûr, vous souhaitiez la mort avant de la rencontrer. Or vous l'avez vue, certes, tandis que vous regardiez

And you had certainly wished for martyrdom before you encountered it, and you have [now] seen it [before you] while you were looking on

۞ وَمَا مُحَمَّدٌ اِلَّا رَسُولٞ قَدْ خَلَتْ مِن قَبْلِهِ اِ۬لرُّسُلُۖ أَفَإِيْن مَّاتَ أَوْ قُتِلَ اَ۪نقَلَبْتُمْ عَلَىٰٓ أَعْقَٰبِكُمْۖ وَمَنْ يَّنقَلِبْ عَلَىٰ عَقِبَيْهِ فَلَنْ يَّضُرَّ اَ۬للَّهَ شَئْاٗۖ وَسَيَجْزِے اِ۬للَّهُ اُ۬لشَّٰكِرِينَۖ ﲏ

Wamâ muhammaduni llâ rasûlun qad khalat min qablihi rrusulu afa'iym mâta aw qutila nqalabtum ‘alâ a‘qâbikum wamay yanqalib ‘alâ ‘aqibayhi falay yadurra llâha shay'an wasayajzî llâhu shshâkirîn

Muhammad n'est qu'un messager - des messagers avant lui sont passés -. S'il mourait, donc, ou s'il était tué, retourneriez-vous sur vos talons? Quiconque retourne sur ses talons ne nuira en rien à Allah; et Allah récompensera bientôt les reconnaissants

Muhammad is not but a messenger. [Other] messengers have passed on before him. So if he was to die or be killed, would you turn back on your heels [to unbelief]? And he who turns back on his heels will never harm Allah at all; but Allah will reward the grateful

وَمَا كَانَ لِنَفْسٍ اَن تَمُوتَ إِلَّا بِإِذْنِ اِ۬للَّهِۖ كِتَٰباٗ مُّوَ۬جَّلاٗۖ وَمَنْ يُّرِدْ ثَوَابَ اَ۬لدُّنْي۪ا نُوتِهِۦ مِنْهَاۖ وَمَنْ يُّرِدْ ثَوَابَ اَ۬لَاخِرَةِ نُوتِهِۦ مِنْهَاۖ وَسَنَجْزِے اِ۬لشَّٰكِرِينَۖ ﲐ

Wamâ kâna linafsina n tamûta illâ bi'idhni llâhi kitâbam muwajjalan wamay yurid thawâba ddunyê nûtihî minhâ wamay yurid thawâba lakhirati nûtihî minhâ wasanajzî shshâkirîn

Personne ne peut mourir que par la permission d'Allah, et au moment prédéterminé. Quiconque veut la récompense d'ici-bas, Nous lui en donnons. Quiconque veut la récompense de l'au-delà, Nous lui en donnons, et Nous récompenserons bientôt les reconnaissants

And it is not [possible] for one to die except by permission of Allah at a decree determined. And whoever desires the reward of this world - We will give him thereof; and whoever desires the reward of the Hereafter - We will give him thereof. And we will reward the grateful

وَكَأَيِّن مِّن نَّبِےٓءٖ قُتِلَۖ مَعَهُۥ رِبِّيُّونَ كَثِيرٞۖ فَمَا وَهَنُواْ لِمَآ أَصَابَهُمْ فِے سَبِيلِ اِ۬للَّهِ وَمَا ضَعُفُواْ وَمَا اَ۪سْتَكَانُواْۖ وَاللَّهُ يُحِبُّ اُ۬لصَّٰبِرِينَۖ ﲑ

Waka'ayyim min nabî'in qutila ma‘ahû ribbiyyûna kathîrun famâ wahanû limâ asâbahum fî sabîli llâhi wamâ da‘ufû wamâ stakânû wallâhu yuhibbu ssâbirîn

Combien de prophètes ont combattu, en compagnie de beaucoup de disciples, ceux-ci ne fléchirent pas à cause de ce qui les atteignit dans le sentier d'Allah. Ils ne faiblirent pas et ils ne cédèrent point. Et Allah aime les endurants

And how many a prophet [fought and] with him fought many religious scholars. But they never lost assurance due to what afflicted them in the cause of Allah, nor did they weaken or submit. And Allah loves the steadfast

وَمَا كَانَ قَوْلَهُمُۥٓ إِلَّآ أَن قَالُواْ رَبَّنَا اَ۪غْفِرْ لَنَا ذُنُوبَنَا وَإِسْرَافَنَا فِےٓ أَمْرِنَا وَثَبِّتَ اَقْدَامَنَا وَانصُرْنَا عَلَى اَ۬لْقَوْمِ اِ۬لْكٰ۪فِرِينَۖ ﲒ

Wamâ kâna qawlahumû illâ an qâlû rabbanâ ghfir lanâ dhunûbanâ wa'isrâfanâ fî amrinâ wathabbita qdâmanâ wânsurnâ ‘alâ lqawmi lkêfirîn

Et ils n'eurent que cette parole: «Seigneur, pardonne-nous nos péchés ainsi que nos excès dans nos comportements, affermis nos pas et donne-nous la victoire sur les gens mécréants»

And their words were not but that they said, "Our Lord, forgive us our sins and the excess [committed] in our affairs and plant firmly our feet and give us victory over the disbelieving people

فَـَٔات۪يٰهُمُ اُ۬للَّهُ ثَوَابَ اَ۬لدُّنْي۪ا وَحُسْنَ ثَوَابِ اِ۬لَاخِرَةِۖ وَاللَّهُ يُحِبُّ اُ۬لْمُحْسِنِينَۖ ﲓ

Fa'âtêhumu llâhu thawâba ddunyê wahusna thawâbi lakhirati wallâhu yuhibbu lmuhsinîn

Allah, donc, leur donna la récompense d'ici-bas, ainsi que la belle récompense de l'au-delà. Et Allah aime les gens bienfaisants

So Allah gave them the reward of this world and the good reward of the Hereafter. And Allah loves the doers of good

يَٰٓأَيُّهَا اَ۬لذِينَ ءَامَنُوٓاْ إِن تُطِيعُواْ اُ۬لذِينَ كَفَرُواْ يَرُدُّوكُمْ عَلَىٰٓ أَعْقَٰبِكُمْ فَتَنقَلِبُواْ خَٰسِرِينَۖ ﲔ

Yâ'ayyuhâ lladhîna âmanû in tutî‘û lladhîna kafarû yaruddûkum ‘alâ a‘qâbikum fatanqalibû khâsirîn

O les croyants! Si vous obéissez à ceux qui ne croient pas, ils vous feront retourner en arrière. Et vous reviendrez perdants

O you who have believed, if you obey those who disbelieve, they will turn you back on your heels, and you will [then] become losers

بَلِ اِ۬للَّهُ مَوْل۪يٰكُمْۖ وَهُوَ خَيْرُ اُ۬لنَّٰصِرِينَۖ ﲕ

Bali llâhu mawlêkum wahuwa khayru nnâsirîn

Mais c'est Allah votre Maître. Il est le meilleur des secoureurs

But Allah is your protector, and He is the best of helpers

سَنُلْقِے فِے قُلُوبِ اِ۬لذِينَ كَفَرُواْ اُ۬لرُّعْبَ بِمَآ أَشْرَكُواْ بِاللَّهِ مَا لَمْ يُنَزِّلْ بِهِۦ سُلْطَٰناٗۖ وَمَأْو۪يٰهُمُ اُ۬لنَّارُۖ وَبِيسَ مَثْوَى اَ۬لظَّٰلِمِينَۖ ﲖ

Sanulqî fî qulûbi lladhîna kafarû rru‘ba bimâ ashrakû billâhi mâ lam yunazzil bihî sultânan wama'wêhumu nnâru wabîsa mathwâ zzâlimîn

Nous allons jeter l'effroi dans les cœurs des mécréants. Car ils ont associé à Allah (des idoles) sans aucune preuve descendue de Sa part. Le Feu sera leur refuge. Quel mauvais séjour, que celui des injustes

We will cast terror into the hearts of those who disbelieve for what they have associated with Allah of which He had not sent down [any] authority. And their refuge will be the Fire, and wretched is the residence of the wrongdoers

وَلَقَدْ صَدَقَكُمُ اُ۬للَّهُ وَعْدَهُۥٓ إِذْ تَحُسُّونَهُم بِإِذْنِهِۦۖ حَتَّىٰٓ إِذَا فَشِلْتُمْ وَتَنَٰزَعْتُمْ فِے اِ۬لَامْرِ وَعَصَيْتُم مِّنۢ بَعْدِ مَآ أَر۪يٰكُم مَّا تُحِبُّونَۖ مِنكُم مَّنْ يُّرِيدُ اُ۬لدُّنْي۪ا وَمِنكُم مَّنْ يُّرِيدُ اُ۬لَاخِرَةَۖ ثُمَّ صَرَفَكُمْ عَنْهُمْ لِيَبْتَلِيَكُمْۖ وَلَقَدْ عَفَا عَنكُمْۖ وَاللَّهُ ذُو فَضْلٍ عَلَى اَ۬لْمُومِنِينَۖ ﲗ

Walaqad sadaqakumu llâhu wa‘dahû idh tahussûnahum bi'idhnihî hattâ idhâ fashiltum watanâza‘tum fî lamri wa‘asaytum mim ba‘di mâ arêkum mâ tuhibbûna minkum may yurîdu ddunyê waminkum may yurîdu lakhirata thumma sarafakum ‘anhum liyabtaliyakum walaqad ‘afâ ‘ankum wallâhu dhû fadlin ‘alâ lmûminîn

Et certes, Allah a tenu Sa promesse envers vous, quand par Sa permission vous les tuiez sans relâche, jusqu'au moment où vous avez fléchi, où vous vous êtes disputés à propos de l'ordre donné, et vous avez désobéi après qu'Il vous eut montré (la victoire) que vous aimez! Il en était parmi vous qui désiraient la vie d'ici-bas et il en était parmi vous qui désiraient l'au-delà. Puis Il vous a fait reculer devant eux, afin de vous éprouver. Et certes Il vous a pardonné. Et Allah est Détenteur de la grâce envers les croyants

And Allah had certainly fulfilled His promise to you when you were killing the enemy by His permission until [the time] when you lost courage and fell to disputing about the order [given by the Prophet] and disobeyed after He had shown you that which you love. Among you are some who desire this world, and among you are some who desire the Hereafter. Then he turned you back from them [defeated] that He might test you. And He has already forgiven you, and Allah is the possessor of bounty for the believers

۞ إِذْ تُصْعِدُونَ وَلَا تَلْوُۥنَ عَلَىٰٓ أَحَدٖ وَالرَّسُولُ يَدْعُوكُمْ فِےٓ أُخْر۪يٰكُمْ فَأَثَٰبَكُمْ غَمّاَۢ بِغَمّٖ لِّكَيْلَا تَحْزَنُواْ عَلَىٰ مَا فَاتَكُمْ وَلَا مَآ أَصَٰبَكُمْۖ وَاللَّهُ خَبِيرُۢ بِمَا تَعْمَلُونَۖ ﲘ

Idh tus‘idûna walâ talwûna ‘alâ ahadin warrasûlu yad‘ûkum fî ukhrêkum fa'athâbakum ghammam bighammil likaylâ tahzanû ‘alâ mâ fâtakum walâ mâ asâbakum wallâhu khabîrum bimâ ta‘malûn

(Rappelez-vous) quand vous fuyiez sans vous retourner vers personne, cependant que, derrière vous, le Messager vous appelait. Alors Il vous infligea angoisse sur angoisse, afin que vous n'ayez pas de chagrin pour ce qui vous a échappé ni pour les revers que vous avez subis. Et Allah est Parfaitement Connaisseur de ce que vous faites

[Remember] when you [fled and] climbed [the mountain] without looking aside at anyone while the Messenger was calling you from behind. So Allah repaid you with distress upon distress so you would not grieve for that which had escaped you [of victory and spoils of war] or [for] that which had befallen you [of injury and death]. And Allah is [fully] Acquainted with what you do

ثُمَّ أَنزَلَ عَلَيْكُم مِّنۢ بَعْدِ اِ۬لْغَمِّ أَمَنَةٗ نُّعَاساٗ يَغْش۪ىٰ طَآئِفَةٗ مِّنكُمْۖ وَطَآئِفَةٞ قَدَ اَهَمَّتْهُمُۥٓ أَنفُسُهُمْ يَظُنُّونَ بِاللَّهِ غَيْرَ اَ۬لْحَقِّ ظَنَّ اَ۬لْجَٰهِلِيَّةِۖ يَقُولُونَ هَل لَّنَا مِنَ اَ۬لَامْرِ مِن شَےْءٖۖ قُلِ اِنَّ اَ۬لَامْرَ كُلَّهُۥ لِلهِۖ يُخْفُونَ فِےٓ أَنفُسِهِم مَّا لَا يُبْدُونَ لَكَۖ يَقُولُونَ لَوْ كَانَ لَنَا مِنَ اَ۬لَامْرِ شَےْءٞ مَّا قُتِلْنَا هَٰهُنَاۖ قُل لَّوْ كُنتُمْ فِے بُيُوتِكُمْ لَبَرَزَ اَ۬لذِينَ كُتِبَ عَلَيْهِمُ اُ۬لْقَتْلُ إِلَىٰ مَضَاجِعِهِمْ وَلِيَبْتَلِيَ اَ۬للَّهُ مَا فِے صُدُورِكُمْ وَلِيُمَحِّصَ مَا فِے قُلُوبِكُمْۖ وَاللَّهُ عَلِيمُۢ بِذَاتِ اِ۬لصُّدُورِۖ ﲙ

Thumma anzala ‘alaykum mim ba‘di lghammi amanatan nu‘âsan yaghshê tâ'ifatam minkum watâ'ifatun qada hammathumû anfusuhum yazunnûna billâhi ghayra lhaqqi zanna ljâhiliyyati yaqûlûna hal lanâ mina lamri min shay'in quli nna lamra kullahû lillâhi yukhfûna fî anfusihim mâ lâ yubdûna laka yaqûlûna law kâna lanâ mina lamri shay'um mâ qutilnâ hâhunâ qul law kuntum fî buyûtikum labaraza lladhîna kutiba ‘alayhimu lqatlu ilâ madâji‘ihim waliyabtaliya llâhu mâ fî sudûrikum waliyumahhisa mâ fî qulûbikum wallâhu ‘alîmum bidhâti ssudûr

Puis Il fit descendre sur vous, après l'angoisse, la tranquillité, un sommeil qui enveloppa une partie d'entre vous, tandis qu'une autre partie était soucieuse pour elle-même et avait des pensées sur Allah non conformes à la vérité, des pensées dignes de l'époque de l'Ignorance. - Ils disaient: «Est-ce que nous avons une part dans cette affaire?» Dis: «L'affaire toute entière est à Allah.» Ce qu'ils ne te révèlent pas, ils le cachent en eux-mêmes: «Si nous avions eu un choix quelconque dans cette affaire, disent-ils, Nous n'aurions pas été tués ici.» Dis: «Eussiez-vous été dans vos maisons, ceux pour qui la mort était décrétée seraient sortis pour l'endroit où la mort les attendait. Ceci afin qu'Allah éprouve ce que vous avez dans vos poitrines, et qu'Il purifie ce que vous avez dans vos cœurs. Et Allah connaît ce qu'il y a dans les cœurs

Then after distress, He sent down upon you security [in the form of] drowsiness, overcoming a faction of you, while another faction worried about themselves, thinking of Allah other than the truth - the thought of ignorance, saying, "Is there anything for us [to have done] in this matter?" Say, "Indeed, the matter belongs completely to Allah." They conceal within themselves what they will not reveal to you. They say, "If there was anything we could have done in the matter, some of us would not have been killed right here." Say, "Even if you had been inside your houses, those decreed to be killed would have come out to their death beds." [It was] so that Allah might test what is in your breasts and purify what is in your hearts. And Allah is Knowing of that within the breasts

إِنَّ اَ۬لذِينَ تَوَلَّوْاْ مِنكُمْ يَوْمَ اَ۪لْتَقَى اَ۬لْجَمْعَٰنِ إِنَّمَا اَ۪سْتَزَلَّهُمُ اُ۬لشَّيْطَٰنُ بِبَعْضِ مَا كَسَبُواْۖ وَلَقَدْ عَفَا اَ۬للَّهُ عَنْهُمُۥٓۖ إِنَّ اَ۬للَّهَ غَفُورٌ حَلِيمٞۖ ﲚ

Inna lladhîna tawallaw minkum yawma ltaqâ ljam‘âni innamâ stazallahumu shshaytânu biba‘di mâ kasabû walaqad ‘afâ llâhu ‘anhumû inna llâha ghafûrun halîm

Ceux d'entre vous qui ont tourné le dos, le jour où les deux armées se rencontrèrent, c'est seulement le Diable qui les a fait broncher, à cause d'une partie de leurs (mauvaises) actions. Mais, certes, Allah leur a pardonné. Car vraiment Allah est Pardonneur et Indulgent

Indeed, those of you who turned back on the day the two armies met, it was Satan who caused them to slip because of some [blame] they had earned. But Allah has already forgiven them. Indeed, Allah is Forgiving and Forbearing

يَٰٓأَيُّهَا اَ۬لذِينَ ءَامَنُواْ لَا تَكُونُواْ كَالذِينَ كَفَرُواْ وَقَالُواْ لِإِخْوَٰنِهِمُۥٓ إِذَا ضَرَبُواْ فِے اِ۬لَارْضِ أَوْ كَانُواْ غُزّىٗ لَّوْ كَانُواْ عِندَنَا مَا مَاتُواْ وَمَا قُتِلُواْ لِيَجْعَلَ اَ۬للَّهُ ذَٰلِكَ حَسْرَةٗ فِے قُلُوبِهِمْۖ وَاللَّهُ يُحْيِۦ وَيُمِيتُۖ وَاللَّهُ بِمَا تَعْمَلُونَ بَصِيرٞۖ ﲛ

Yâ'ayyuhâ lladhîna âmanû lâ takûnû kalladhîna kafarû waqâlû li'ikhwânihimû idhâ darabû fî lardi aw kânû ghuzzal law kânû ‘indanâ mâ mâtû wamâ qutilû liyaj‘ala llâhu dhâlika hasratan fî qulûbihim wallâhu yuhyî wayumîtu wallâhu bimâ ta‘malûna basîr

O les croyants! Ne soyez pas comme ces mécréants qui dirent à propos de leurs frères partis en voyage ou pour combattre: «S'ils étaient chez nous, ils ne seraient pas morts, et ils n'auraient pas été tués.» Allah en fit un sujet de regret dans leurs cœurs. C'est Allah qui donne la vie et la mort. Et Allah observe bien ce que vous faites

O you who have believed, do not be like those who disbelieved and said about their brothers when they traveled through the land or went out to fight, "If they had been with us, they would not have died or have been killed," so Allah makes that [misconception] a regret within their hearts. And it is Allah who gives life and causes death, and Allah is Seeing of what you do

وَلَئِن قُتِلْتُمْ فِے سَبِيلِ اِ۬للَّهِ أَوْ مِتُّمْ لَمَغْفِرَةٞ مِّنَ اَ۬للَّهِ وَرَحْمَةٌ خَيْرٞ مِّمَّا تَجْمَعُونَۖ ﲜ

Wala'in qutiltum fî sabîli llâhi aw mittum lamaghfiratum mina llâhi warahmatun khayrum mimmâ tajma‘ûn

Et si vous êtes tués dans le sentier d'Allah ou si vous mourez, un pardon de la part d'Allah et une miséricorde valent mieux que ce qu'ils amassent

And if you are killed in the cause of Allah or die - then forgiveness from Allah and mercy are better than whatever they accumulate [in this world]

وَلَئِن مِّتُّمُۥٓ أَوْ قُتِلْتُمْ لَإِلَى اَ۬للَّهِ تُحْشَرُونَۖ ﲝ

Wala'im mittumû aw qutiltum la'ilâ llâhi tuhsharûn

Que vous mouriez ou que vous soyez tués, c'est vers Allah que vous serez rassemblés

And whether you die or are killed, unto Allah you will be gathered

فَبِمَا رَحْمَةٖ مِّنَ اَ۬للَّهِ لِنتَ لَهُمْۖ وَلَوْ كُنتَ فَظّاً غَلِيظَ اَ۬لْقَلْبِ لَانفَضُّواْ مِنْ حَوْلِكَۖ فَاعْفُ عَنْهُمْ وَاسْتَغْفِرْ لَهُمْ وَشَاوِرْهُمْ فِے اِ۬لَامْرِۖ فَإِذَا عَزَمْتَ فَتَوَكَّلْ عَلَى اَ۬للَّهِۖ إِنَّ اَ۬للَّهَ يُحِبُّ اُ۬لْمُتَوَكِّلِينَۖ ﲞ

Fabimâ rahmatim mina llâhi linta lahum walaw kunta fazzan ghalîza lqalbi lânfaddû min hawlika fa‘fu ‘anhum wastaghfir lahum washâwirhum fî lamri fa'idhâ ‘azamta fatawakkal ‘alâ llâhi inna llâha yuhibbu lmutawakkilîn

C'est par quelque miséricorde de la part d'Allah que tu (Muhammad) as été si doux envers eux! Mais si tu étais rude, au cœur dur, ils se seraient enfuis de ton entourage. Pardonne-leur donc, et implore pour eux le pardon (d'Allah). Et consulte-les à propos des affaires; puis une fois que tu t'es décidé, confie-toi donc à Allah, Allah aime, en vérité, ceux qui Lui font confiance

So by mercy from Allah, [O Muhammad], you were lenient with them. And if you had been rude [in speech] and harsh in heart, they would have disbanded from about you. So pardon them and ask forgiveness for them and consult them in the matter. And when you have decided, then rely upon Allah. Indeed, Allah loves those who rely [upon Him]

۞ إِنْ يَّنصُرْكُمُ اُ۬للَّهُ فَلَا غَالِبَ لَكُمْۖ وَإِنْ يَّخْذُلْكُمْ فَمَن ذَا اَ۬لذِے يَنصُرُكُم مِّنۢ بَعْدِهِۦۖ وَعَلَى اَ۬للَّهِ فَلْيَتَوَكَّلِ اِ۬لْمُومِنُونَۖ ﲟ

Iy yansurkumu llâhu falâ ghâliba lakum wa'iy yakhdhulkum faman dhâ lladhî yansurukum mim ba‘dihî wa‘alâ llâhi falyatawakkali lmûminûn

Si Allah vous donne Son secours, nul ne peut vous vaincre. S'Il vous abandonne, qui donc après Lui vous donnera secours? C'est à Allah que les croyants doivent faire confiance

If Allah should aid you, no one can overcome you; but if He should forsake you, who is there that can aid you after Him? And upon Allah let the believers rely

وَمَا كَانَ لِنَبِےٓءٍ اَنْ يُّغَلَّۖ وَمَنْ يَّغْلُلْ يَاتِ بِمَا غَلَّ يَوْمَ اَ۬لْقِيَٰمَةِۖ ثُمَّ تُوَفّ۪ىٰ كُلُّ نَفْسٖ مَّا كَسَبَتْ وَهُمْ لَا يُظْلَمُونَۖ ﲠ

Wamâ kâna linabî'ina y yughalla wamay yaghlul yâti bimâ ghalla yawma lqiyâmati thumma tuwaffê kullu nafsim mâ kasabat wahum lâ yuzlamûn

Un prophète n'est pas quelqu'un à s'approprier du butin. Quiconque s'en approprie, viendra avec ce qu'il se sera approprié le Jour de la Résurrection. Alors, à chaque individu on rétribuera pleinement ce qu'il aura acquis. Et ils ne seront point lésés

It is not [attributable] to any prophet that he would act unfaithfully [in regard to war booty]. And whoever betrays, [taking unlawfully], will come with what he took on the Day of Resurrection. Then will every soul be [fully] compensated for what it earned, and they will not be wronged

أَفَمَنِ اِ۪تَّبَعَ رِضْوَٰنَ اَ۬للَّهِ كَمَنۢ بَآءَ بِسَخَطٖ مِّنَ اَ۬للَّهِ وَمَأْو۪يٰهُ جَهَنَّمُۖ وَبِيسَ اَ۬لْمَصِيرُۖ ﲡ

Afamani ttaba‘a ridwâna llâhi kamam bâ'a bisakhatim mina llâhi wama'wêhu jahannamu wabîsa lmasîr

Est-ce que celui qui se conforme à l'agrément d'Allah ressemble à celui qui encourt le courroux d'Allah? Son refuge sera l'Enfer; et quelle mauvaise destination

So is one who pursues the pleasure of Allah like one who brings upon himself the anger of Allah and whose refuge is Hell? And wretched is the destination

هُمْ دَرَجَٰتٌ عِندَ اَ۬للَّهِۖ وَاللَّهُ بَصِيرُۢ بِمَا يَعْمَلُونَۖ ﲢ

Hum darajâtun ‘inda llâhi wallâhu basîrum bimâ ya‘malûn

Ils ont des grades (différents) auprès d'Allah et Allah observe bien ce qu'ils font

They are [varying] degrees in the sight of Allah, and Allah is Seeing of whatever they do

لَقَدْ مَنَّ اَ۬للَّهُ عَلَى اَ۬لْمُومِنِينَ إِذْ بَعَثَ فِيهِمْ رَسُولاٗ مِّنَ اَنفُسِهِمْ يَتْلُواْ عَلَيْهِمُۥٓ ءَايَٰتِهِۦ وَيُزَكِّيهِمْ وَيُعَلِّمُهُمُ اُ۬لْكِتَٰبَ وَالْحِكْمَةَ وَإِن كَانُواْ مِن قَبْلُ لَفِے ضَلَٰلٖ مُّبِينٍۖ ﲣ

Laqad manna llâhu ‘alâ lmûminîna idh ba‘atha fîhim rasûlam mina nfusihim yatlû ‘alayhimû âyâtihî wayuzakkîhim wayu‘allimuhumu lkitâba walhikmata wa'in kânû min qablu lafî dalâlim mubîn

Allah a très certainement fait une faveur aux croyants lorsqu'Il a envoyé chez eux un messager de parmi eux-mêmes, qui leur récite Ses versets, les purifie et leur enseigne le Livre et la Sagesse, bien qu'ils fussent auparavant dans un égarement évident

Certainly did Allah confer [great] favor upon the believers when He sent among them a Messenger from themselves, reciting to them His verses and purifying them and teaching them the Book and wisdom, although they had been before in manifest error

اَوَلَمَّآ أَصَٰبَتْكُم مُّصِيبَةٞ قَدَ اَصَبْتُم مِّثْلَيْهَا قُلْتُمُۥٓ أَنّ۪ىٰ هَٰذَاۖ قُلْ هُوَ مِنْ عِندِ أَنفُسِكُمُۥٓۖ إِنَّ اَ۬للَّهَ عَلَىٰ كُلِّ شَےْءٖ قَدِيرٞۖ ﲤ

Awalammâ asâbatkum musîbatun qada sabtum mithlayhâ qultumû annê hâdhâ qul huwa min ‘indi anfusikumû inna llâha ‘alâ kulli shay'in qadîr

Quoi! Quand un malheur vous atteint - mais vous en avez jadis infligé le double - vous dites: «D'où vient cela?» Réponds-leur: «Il vient de vous-mêmes». Certes Allah est Omnipotent

Why [is it that] when a [single] disaster struck you [on the day of Uhud], although you had struck [the enemy in the battle of Badr] with one twice as great, you said, "From where is this?" Say, "It is from yourselves." Indeed, Allah is over all things competent

وَمَآ أَصَٰبَكُمْ يَوْمَ اَ۪لْتَقَى اَ۬لْجَمْعَٰنِ فَبِإِذْنِ اِ۬للَّهِ وَلِيَعْلَمَ اَ۬لْمُومِنِينَ ﲥ

Wamâ asâbakum yawma ltaqâ ljam‘âni fabi'idhni llâhi waliya‘lama lmûminîn

Et tout ce que vous avez subi, le jour où les deux troupes se rencontrèrent, c'est par permission d'Allah, et afin qu'Il distingue les croyants

And what struck you on the day the two armies met was by permission of Allah that He might make evident the [true] believers

وَلِيَعْلَمَ اَ۬لذِينَ نَافَقُواْۖ وَقِيلَ لَهُمْ تَعَالَوْاْ قَٰتِلُواْ فِے سَبِيلِ اِ۬للَّهِ أَوِ اِ۪دْفَعُواْۖ قَالُواْ لَوْ نَعْلَمُ قِتَالاٗ لَّاتَّبَعْنَٰكُمْۖ هُمْ لِلْكُفْرِ يَوْمَئِذٍ اَقْرَبُ مِنْهُمْ لِلِايمَٰنِۖ يَقُولُونَ بِأَفْوَٰهِهِم مَّا لَيْسَ فِے قُلُوبِهِمْۖ وَاللَّهُ أَعْلَمُ بِمَا يَكْتُمُونَۖ ﲦ

Waliya‘lama lladhîna nâfaqû waqîla lahum ta‘âlaw qâtilû fî sabîli llâhi awi dfa‘û qâlû law na‘lamu qitâlal lattaba‘nâkum hum lilkufri yawma'idhina qrabu minhum liliâmâni yaqûlûna bi'afwâhihim mâ laysa fî qulûbihim wallâhu a‘lamu bimâ yaktumûn

et qu'Il distingue les hypocrites. On avait dit à ceux-ci: «Venez combattre dans le sentier d'Allah, ou repoussez [l'ennemi»], ils dirent: «Bien sûr que nous vous suivrions si nous étions sûrs qu'il y aurait une guerre.» Ils étaient, ce jour-là, plus près de la mécréance que de la foi. Ils disaient de leurs bouches ce qui n'était pas dans leurs cœurs. Et Allah sait fort bien ce qu'ils cachaient

And that He might make evident those who are hypocrites. For it was said to them, "Come, fight in the way of Allah or [at least] defend." They said, "If we had known [there would be] fighting, we would have followed you." They were nearer to disbelief that day than to faith, saying with their mouths what was not in their hearts. And Allah is most Knowing of what they conceal

اَ۬لذِينَ قَالُواْ لِإِخْوَٰنِهِمْ وَقَعَدُواْ لَوَ اَطَاعُونَا مَا قُتِلُواْۖ قُلْ فَادْرَءُواْ عَنَ اَنفُسِكُمُ اُ۬لْمَوْتَ إِن كُنتُمْ صَٰدِقِينَۖ ﲧ

Alladhîna qâlû li'ikhwânihim waqa‘adû lawa tâ‘ûnâ mâ qutilû qul fadra'û ‘ana nfusikumu lmawta in kuntum sâdiqîn

Ceux qui sont restés dans leurs foyers dirent à leurs frères: «S'ils nous avaient obéi, ils n'auraient pas été tués.» Dis: «Ecartez donc de vous la mort, si vous êtes véridiques»

Those who said about their brothers while sitting [at home], "If they had obeyed us, they would not have been killed." Say, "Then prevent death from yourselves, if you should be truthful

وَلَا تَحْسِبَنَّ اَ۬لذِينَ قُتِلُواْ فِے سَبِيلِ اِ۬للَّهِ أَمْوَٰتاَۢۖ بَلَ اَحْيَآءٌۖ عِندَ رَبِّهِمْ يُرْزَقُونَ ﲨ

Walâ tahsibanna lladhîna qutilû fî sabîli llâhi amwâtam bala hyâ'un ‘inda rabbihim yurzaqûn

Ne pense pas que ceux qui ont été tués dans le sentier d'Allah, soient morts. Au contraire, ils sont vivants, auprès de leur Seigneur, bien pourvus

And never think of those who have been killed in the cause of Allah as dead. Rather, they are alive with their Lord, receiving provision

فَرِحِينَ بِمَآ ءَات۪يٰهُمُ اُ۬للَّهُ مِن فَضْلِهِۦ وَيَسْتَبْشِرُونَ بِالذِينَ لَمْ يَلْحَقُواْ بِهِم مِّنْ خَلْفِهِمُۥٓ أَلَّا خَوْفٌ عَلَيْهِمْ وَلَا هُمْ يَحْزَنُونَۖ ﲩ

Farihîna bimâ âtêhumu llâhu min fadlihî wayastabshirûna billadhîna lam yalhaqû bihim min khalfihimû allâ khawfun ‘alayhim walâ hum yahzanûn

et joyeux de la faveur qu'Allah leur a accordée, et ravis que ceux qui sont restés derrière eux et ne les ont pas encore rejoints, ne connaîtront aucune crainte et ne seront point affligés

Rejoicing in what Allah has bestowed upon them of His bounty, and they receive good tidings about those [to be martyred] after them who have not yet joined them - that there will be no fear concerning them, nor will they grieve

۞ يَسْتَبْشِرُونَ بِنِعْمَةٖ مِّنَ اَ۬للَّهِ وَفَضْلٖ وَأَنَّ اَ۬للَّهَ لَا يُضِيعُ أَجْرَ اَ۬لْمُومِنِينَ ﲪ

Yastabshirûna bini‘matim mina llâhi wafadlin wa'anna llâha lâ yudî‘u ajra lmûminîn

Ils sont ravis d'un bienfait d'Allah et d'une faveur, et du fait qu'Allah ne laisse pas perdre la récompense des croyants

They receive good tidings of favor from Allah and bounty and [of the fact] that Allah does not allow the reward of believers to be lost

اَ۬لذِينَ اَ۪سْتَجَابُواْ لِلهِ وَالرَّسُولِ مِنۢ بَعْدِ مَآ أَصَابَهُمُ اُ۬لْقَرْحُۖ لِلذِينَ أَحْسَنُواْ مِنْهُمْ وَاتَّقَوَاْ اَجْرٌ عَظِيمٌۖ ﲫ

Alladhîna stajâbû lillâhi warrasûli mim ba‘di mâ asâbahumu lqarhu lilladhîna ahsanû minhum wattaqawa jrun ‘azîm

Ceux qui, quoiqu'atteints de blessure, répondirent à l'appel d'Allah et du Messager, il y aura une énorme récompense pour ceux d'entre eux qui ont agi en bien et pratiqué la piété

Those [believers] who responded to Allah and the Messenger after injury had struck them. For those who did good among them and feared Allah is a great reward

اِ۬لذِينَ قَالَ لَهُمُ اُ۬لنَّاسُ إِنَّ اَ۬لنَّاسَ قَدْ جَمَعُواْ لَكُمْ فَاخْشَوْهُمْ فَزَادَهُمُۥٓ إِيمَٰناٗۖ وَقَالُواْ حَسْبُنَا اَ۬للَّهُ وَنِعْمَ اَ۬لْوَكِيلُۖ ﲬ

Alladhîna qâla lahumu nnâsu inna nnâsa qad jama‘û lakum fakhshawhum fazâdahumû îmânan waqâlû hasbunâ llâhu wani‘ma lwakîl

Certes ceux auxquels l'on disait: «Les gens se sont rassemblés contre vous; craignez-les» - cela accrut leur foi - et ils dirent: «Allah nous suffit; Il est notre meilleur garant»

Those to whom hypocrites said, "Indeed, the people have gathered against you, so fear them." But it [merely] increased them in faith, and they said, "Sufficient for us is Allah, and [He is] the best Disposer of affairs

فَانقَلَبُواْ بِنِعْمَةٖ مِّنَ اَ۬للَّهِ وَفَضْلٖ لَّمْ يَمْسَسْهُمْ سُوٓءٞ وَاتَّبَعُواْ رِضْوَٰنَ اَ۬للَّهِۖ وَاللَّهُ ذُو فَضْلٍ عَظِيمٍۖ ﲭ

Fânqalabû bini‘matim mina llâhi wafadlil lam yamsashum sû'un wattaba‘û ridwâna llâhi wallâhu dhû fadlin ‘azîm

Ils revinrent donc avec un bienfait de la part d'Allah et une grâce. Nul mal ne les toucha et ils suivirent ce qui satisfait Allah. Et Allah est Détenteur d'une grâce immense

So they returned with favor from Allah and bounty, no harm having touched them. And they pursued the pleasure of Allah, and Allah is the possessor of great bounty

اِنَّمَا ذَٰلِكُمُ اُ۬لشَّيْطَٰنُ يُخَوِّفُ أَوْلِيَآءَهُۥ فَلَا تَخَافُوهُمْۖ وَخَافُونِ إِن كُنتُم مُّومِنِينَۖ ﲮ

Innamâ dhâlikumu shshaytânu yukhawwifu awliyâ'ahû falâ takhâfûhum wakhâfûni in kuntum mûminîn

C'est le Diable qui vous fait peur de ses adhérents. N'ayez donc pas peur d'eux. Mais ayez peur de Moi, si vous êtes croyants

That is only Satan who frightens [you] of his supporters. So fear them not, but fear Me, if you are [indeed] believers

وَلَا يُحْزِنكَ اَ۬لذِينَ يُسَٰرِعُونَ فِے اِ۬لْكُفْرِۖ إِنَّهُمْ لَنْ يَّضُرُّواْ اُ۬للَّهَ شَئْاٗۖ يُرِيدُ اُ۬للَّهُ أَلَّا يَجْعَلَ لَهُمْ حَظّاٗ فِے اِ۬لَاخِرَةِۖ وَلَهُمْ عَذَابٌ عَظِيمٌۖ ﲯ

Walâ yuhzinka lladhîna yusâri‘ûna fî lkufri innahum lay yadurrû llâha shay'an yurîdu llâhu allâ yaj‘ala lahum hazzan fî lakhirati walahum ‘adhâbun ‘azîm

N'aie (ô Muhammad) aucun chagrin pour ceux qui se jettent rapidement dans la mécréance. En vérité, ils ne nuiront en rien à Allah. Allah tient à ne leur assigner aucune part de biens dans l'au-delà. Et pour eux il y aura un énorme châtiment

And do not be grieved, [O Muhammad], by those who hasten into disbelief. Indeed, they will never harm Allah at all. Allah intends that He should give them no share in the Hereafter, and for them is a great punishment

اِنَّ اَ۬لذِينَ اَ۪شْتَرَوُاْ اُ۬لْكُفْرَ بِالِايمَٰنِ لَنْ يَّضُرُّواْ اُ۬للَّهَ شَئْاٗۖ وَلَهُمْ عَذَابٌ اَلِيمٞۖ ﲰ

Inna lladhîna shtarawu lkufra bilîmâni lay yadurrû llâha shay'an walahum ‘adhâbuna lîm

Ceux qui auront troqué la croyance contre la mécréance ne nuiront en rien à Allah. Et pour eux un châtiment douloureux

Indeed, those who purchase disbelief [in exchange] for faith - never will they harm Allah at all, and for them is a painful punishment

وَلَا يَحْسِبَنَّ اَ۬لذِينَ كَفَرُوٓاْ أَنَّمَا نُمْلِے لَهُمْ خَيْرٞ لِّأَنفُسِهِمُۥٓۖ إِنَّمَا نُمْلِے لَهُمْ لِيَزْدَادُوٓاْ إِثْماٗۖ وَلَهُمْ عَذَابٞ مُّهِينٞۖ ﲱ

Walâ yahsibanna lladhîna kafarû annamâ numlî lahum khayrul li'anfusihimû innamâ numlî lahum liyazdâdû ithman walahum ‘adhâbum muhîn

Que ceux qui n'ont pas cru ne comptent pas que ce délai que Nous leur accordons soit à leur avantage. Si Nous leur accordons un délai, c'est seulement pour qu'ils augmentent leurs péchés. Et pour eux un châtiment avilissant

And let not those who disbelieve ever think that [because] We extend their time [of enjoyment] it is better for them. We only extend it for them so that they may increase in sin, and for them is a humiliating punishment

مَّا كَانَ اَ۬للَّهُ لِيَذَرَ اَ۬لْمُومِنِينَ عَلَىٰ مَآ أَنتُمْ عَلَيْهِ حَتَّىٰ يَمِيزَ اَ۬لْخَبِيثَ مِنَ اَ۬لطَّيِّبِۖ وَمَا كَانَ اَ۬للَّهُ لِيُطْلِعَكُمْ عَلَى اَ۬لْغَيْبِۖ وَلَٰكِنَّ اَ۬للَّهَ يَجْتَبِے مِن رُّسُلِهِۦ مَنْ يَّشَآءُۖ فَـَٔامِنُواْ بِاللَّهِ وَرُسُلِهِۦۖ وَإِن تُومِنُواْ وَتَتَّقُواْ فَلَكُمُۥٓ أَجْرٌ عَظِيمٞۖ ﲲ

Mâ kâna llâhu liyadhara lmûminîna ‘alâ mâ antum ‘alayhi hattâ yamîza lkhabîtha mina ttayyibi wamâ kâna llâhu liyutli‘akum ‘alâ lghaybi walâkinna llâha yajtabî mir rusulihî may yashâ'u fa'âminû billâhi warusulihî wa'in tûminû watattaqû falakumû ajrun ‘azîm

Allah n'est point tel qu'Il laisse les croyants dans l'état où vous êtes jusqu'à ce qu'Il distingue le mauvais du bon. Et Allah n'est point tel qu'Il vous dévoile l'Inconnaissable. Mais Allah choisit parmi Ses messagers qui Il veut. Croyez donc en Allah et en Ses messagers. Et si vous avez la foi et la piété, vous aurez alors une récompense énorme

Allah would not leave the believers in that [state] you are in [presently] until He separates the evil from the good. Nor would Allah reveal to you the unseen. But [instead], Allah chooses of His messengers whom He wills, so believe in Allah and His messengers. And if you believe and fear Him, then for you is a great reward

وَلَا يَحْسِبَنَّ اَ۬لذِينَ يَبْخَلُونَ بِمَآ ءَات۪يٰهُمُ اُ۬للَّهُ مِن فَضْلِهِۦ هُوَ خَيْراٗ لَّهُمۖ بَلْ هُوَ شَرّٞ لَّهُمْۖ سَيُطَوَّقُونَ مَا بَخِلُواْ بِهِۦ يَوْمَ اَ۬لْقِيَٰمَةِۖ وَلِلهِ مِيرَٰثُ اُ۬لسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَالَارْضِۖ وَاللَّهُ بِمَا تَعْمَلُونَ خَبِيرٞۖ ﲳ

Walâ yahsibanna lladhîna yabkhalûna bimâ âtêhumu llâhu min fadlihî huwa khayral lahum bal huwa sharrul lahum sayutawwaqûna mâ bakhilû bihî yawma lqiyâmati walillâhi mîrâthu ssamâwâti walardi wallâhu bimâ ta‘malûna khabîr

Que ceux qui gardent avec avarice ce qu'Allah leur donne par Sa grâce, ne comptent point cela comme bon pour eux. Au contraire, c'est mauvais pour eux: au Jour de la Résurrection, on leur attachera autour du cou ce qu'ils ont gardé avec avarice. C'est Allah qui a l'héritage des cieux et de la terre. Et Allah est Parfaitement Connaisseur de ce que vous faites

And let not those who [greedily] withhold what Allah has given them of His bounty ever think that it is better for them. Rather, it is worse for them. Their necks will be encircled by what they withheld on the Day of Resurrection. And to Allah belongs the heritage of the heavens and the earth. And Allah, with what you do, is [fully] Acquainted

۞ لَّقَدْ سَمِعَ اَ۬للَّهُ قَوْلَ اَ۬لذِينَ قَالُوٓاْ إِنَّ اَ۬للَّهَ فَقِيرٞ وَنَحْنُ أَغْنِيَآءُۖ سَنَكْتُبُ مَا قَالُواْ وَقَتْلَهُمُ اُ۬لَانۢبِئَآءَ بِغَيْرِ حَقّٖ وَنَقُولُ ذُوقُواْ عَذَابَ اَ۬لْحَرِيقِۖ ﲴ

Laqad sami‘a llâhu qawla lladhîna qâlû inna llâha faqîrun wanahnu aghniyâ'u sanaktubu mâ qâlû waqatlahumu lambî'â'a bighayri haqqin wanaqûlu dhûqû ‘adhâba lharîq

Allah a certainement entendu la parole de ceux qui ont dit: «Allah est pauvre et nous sommes riches.» Nous enregistrons leur parole, ainsi que leur meurtre, sans droit, des prophètes. Et Nous leur dirons: «Goûtez au châtiment de la fournaise

Allah has certainly heard the statement of those [Jews] who said, "Indeed, Allah is poor, while we are rich." We will record what they said and their killing of the prophets without right and will say, "Taste the punishment of the Burning Fire

ذَٰلِكَ بِمَا قَدَّمَتَ اَيْدِيكُمْ وَأَنَّ اَ۬للَّهَ لَيْسَ بِظَلَّٰمٖ لِّلْعَبِيدِۖ ﲵ

Dhâlika bimâ qaddamata ydîkum wa'anna llâha laysa bizallâmil lil‘abîd

Cela, à cause de ce que vos mains ont accompli (antérieurement)!» Car Allah ne fait point de tort aux serviteurs

That is for what your hands have put forth and because Allah is not ever unjust to [His] servants

اِ۬لذِينَ قَالُوٓاْ إِنَّ اَ۬للَّهَ عَهِدَ إِلَيْنَآ أَلَّا نُومِنَ لِرَسُولٍ حَتَّىٰ يَاتِيَنَا بِقُرْبَانٖ تَاكُلُهُ اُ۬لنَّارُۖ قُلْ قَدْ جَآءَكُمْ رُسُلٞ مِّن قَبْلِے بِالْبَيِّنَٰتِ وَبِالذِے قُلْتُمْ فَلِمَ قَتَلْتُمُوهُمُۥٓ إِن كُنتُمْ صَٰدِقِينَۖ ﲶ

Alladhîna qâlû inna llâha ‘ahida ilaynâ allâ nûmina lirasûlin hattâ yâtiyanâ biqurbânin tâkuluhu nnâru qul qad jâ'akum rusulum min qablî bilbayyinâti wabiâlladhî qultum falima qataltumûhumû in kuntum sâdiqîn

Ceux-là mêmes qui ont dit: «Vraiment Allah nous a enjoint de ne pas croire en un messager tant qu'Il ne nous a pas apporté une offrande que le feu consume». - Dis: «Des messagers avant moi vous sont, certes, venus avec des preuves, et avec ce que vous avez dit [demandé]. Pourquoi donc les avez-vous tués, si vous êtes véridiques?»

[They are] those who said, "Indeed, Allah has taken our promise not to believe any messenger until he brings us an offering which fire [from heaven] will consume." Say, "There have already come to you messengers before me with clear proofs and [even] that of which you speak. So why did you kill them, if you should be truthful

فَإِن كَذَّبُوكَ فَقَدْ كُذِّبَ رُسُلٞ مِّن قَبْلِكَ جَآءُو بِالْبَيِّنَٰتِ وَالزُّبُرِ وَالْكِتَٰبِ اِ۬لْمُنِيرِۖ ﲷ

Fa'in kadhdhabûka faqad kudhdhiba rusulum min qablika jâ'û bilbayyinâti wazzuburi walkitâbi lmunîr

S'ils te (Muhammad) traitent de menteur, des prophètes avant toi, ont certes été traités de menteurs. Ils étaient venus avec les preuves claires, les Psaumes et le Livre lumineux

Then if they deny you, [O Muhammad] - so were messengers denied before you, who brought clear proofs and written ordinances and the enlightening Scripture

كُلُّ نَفْسٖ ذَآئِقَةُ اُ۬لْمَوْتِۖ وَإِنَّمَا تُوَفَّوْنَ أُجُورَكُمْ يَوْمَ اَ۬لْقِيَٰمَةِۖ فَمَن زُحْزِحَ عَنِ اِ۬لنّ۪ارِ وَأُدْخِلَ اَ۬لْجَنَّةَ فَقَدْ فَازَۖ وَمَا اَ۬لْحَيَوٰةُ اُ۬لدُّنْي۪آ إِلَّا مَتَٰعُ اُ۬لْغُرُورِۖ ﲸ

Kullu nafsin dhâ'iqatu lmawti wa'innamâ tuwaffawna ujûrakum yawma lqiyâmati faman zuhziha ‘ani nnêri wa'udkhila ljannata faqad fâza wamâ lhayawâtu ddunyê illâ matâ‘u lghurûr

Toute âme goûtera la mort. Mais c'est seulement au Jour de la Résurrection que vous recevrez votre entière rétribution. Quiconque donc est écarté du Feu et introduit au Paradis, a certes réussi. Et la vie présente n'est qu'un objet de jouissance trompeuse

Every soul will taste death, and you will only be given your [full] compensation on the Day of Resurrection. So he who is drawn away from the Fire and admitted to Paradise has attained [his desire]. And what is the life of this world except the enjoyment of delusion

۞ لَتُبْلَوُنَّ فِےٓ أَمْوَٰلِكُمْ وَأَنفُسِكُمْ وَلَتَسْمَعُنَّ مِنَ اَ۬لذِينَ أُوتُواْ اُ۬لْكِتَٰبَ مِن قَبْلِكُمْ وَمِنَ اَ۬لذِينَ أَشْرَكُوٓاْ أَذىٗ كَثِيراٗۖ وَإِن تَصْبِرُواْ وَتَتَّقُواْ فَإِنَّ ذَٰلِكَ مِنْ عَزْمِ اِ۬لُامُورِۖ ﲹ

Latublawunna fî amwâlikum wa'anfusikum walatasma‘unna mina lladhîna ûtû lkitâba min qablikum wamina lladhîna ashrakû adhan kathîran wa'in tasbirû watattaqû fa'inna dhâlika min ‘azmi lumûr

Certes vous serez éprouvés dans vos biens et vos personnes; et certes vous entendrez de la part de ceux à qui le Livre a été donné avant vous, et de la part des Associateurs, beaucoup de propos désagréables. Mais si vous êtes endurants et pieux... voilà bien la meilleure résolution à prendre

You will surely be tested in your possessions and in yourselves. And you will surely hear from those who were given the Scripture before you and from those who associate others with Allah much abuse. But if you are patient and fear Allah - indeed, that is of the matters [worthy] of determination

وَإِذَ اَخَذَ اَ۬للَّهُ مِيثَٰقَ اَ۬لذِينَ أُوتُواْ اُ۬لْكِتَٰبَ لَتُبَيِّنُنَّهُۥ لِلنَّاسِ وَلَا تَكْتُمُونَهُۥ فَنَبَذُوهُ وَرَآءَ ظُهُورِهِمْ وَاشْتَرَوْاْ بِهِۦ ثَمَناٗ قَلِيلاٗۖ فَبِيسَ مَا يَشْتَرُونَۖ ﲺ

Wa'idha khadha llâhu mîthâqa lladhîna ûtû lkitâba latubayyinunnahû linnâsi walâ taktumûnahû fanabadhûhu warâ'a zuhûrihim washtaraw bihî thamanan qalîlan fabîsa mâ yashtarûn

Allah prit, de ceux auxquels le Livre était donné, cet engagement: «Exposez-le, certes, aux gens et ne le cachez pas». Mais ils l'ont jeté derrière leur dos et l'ont vendu à vil prix. Quel mauvais commerce ils ont fait

And [mention, O Muhammad], when Allah took a covenant from those who were given the Scripture, [saying], "You must make it clear to the people and not conceal it." But they threw it away behind their backs and exchanged it for a small price. And wretched is that which they purchased

لَا يَحْسِبَنَّ اَ۬لذِينَ يَفْرَحُونَ بِمَآ أَتَواْ وَّيُحِبُّونَ أَنْ يُّحْمَدُواْ بِمَا لَمْ يَفْعَلُواْ فَلَا تَحْسِبَنَّهُم بِمَفَازَةٖ مِّنَ اَ۬لْعَذَابِۖ وَلَهُمْ عَذَابٌ اَلِيمٞۖ ﲻ

Lâ yahsibanna lladhîna yafrahûna bimâ ataw wayuhibbûna ay yuhmadû bimâ lam yaf‘alû falâ tahsibannahum bimafâzatim mina l‘adhâbi walahum ‘adhâbuna lîm

Ne pense point que ceux-là qui exultent de ce qu'ils ont fait, et qui aiment qu'on les loue pour ce qu'ils n'ont pas fait, ne pense point donc, qu'ils trouvent une échappatoire au châtiment. Pour eux, il y aura un châtiment douloureux

And never think that those who rejoice in what they have perpetrated and like to be praised for what they did not do - never think them [to be] in safety from the punishment, and for them is a painful punishment

وَلِلهِ مُلْكُ اُ۬لسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَالَارْضِۖ وَاللَّهُ عَلَىٰ كُلِّ شَےْءٖ قَدِيرٌۖ ﲼ

Walillâhi mulku ssamâwâti walardi wallâhu ‘alâ kulli shay'in qadîr

A Allah appartient le royaume des cieux et de la terre. Et Allah est Omnipotent

And to Allah belongs the dominion of the heavens and the earth, and Allah is over all things competent

اِنَّ فِے خَلْقِ اِ۬لسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَالَارْضِ وَاخْتِلَٰفِ اِ۬ليْلِ وَالنَّه۪ارِ لَأٓيَٰتٖ لِّأُوْلِے اِ۬لَالْبَٰبِ ﲽ

Inna fî khalqi ssamâwâti walardi wakhtilâfi llayli wannahêri la'yâtil li'ulî lalbâb

En vérité, dans la création des cieux et de la terre, et dans l'alternance de la nuit et du jour, il y a certes des signes pour les doués d'intelligence

Indeed, in the creation of the heavens and the earth and the alternation of the night and the day are signs for those of understanding

اِ۬لذِينَ يَذْكُرُونَ اَ۬للَّهَ قِيَٰماٗ وَقُعُوداٗ وَعَلَىٰ جُنُوبِهِمْ وَيَتَفَكَّرُونَ فِے خَلْقِ اِ۬لسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَالَارْضِۖ رَبَّنَا مَا خَلَقْتَ هَٰذَا بَٰطِلاٗ سُبْحَٰنَكَۖ فَقِنَا عَذَابَ اَ۬لنّ۪ارِۖ ﲾ

Alladhîna yadhkurûna llâha qiyâman waqu‘ûdan wa‘alâ junûbihim wayatafakkarûna fî khalqi ssamâwâti walardi rabbanâ mâ khalaqta hâdhâ bâtilan subhânaka faqinâ ‘adhâba nnêr

qui, debout, assis, couchés sur leurs côtés, invoquent Allah et méditent sur la création des cieux et de la terre (disant): «Notre Seigneur! Tu n'as pas créé cela en vain. Gloire à Toi! Garde-nous du châtiment du Feu

Who remember Allah while standing or sitting or [lying] on their sides and give thought to the creation of the heavens and the earth, [saying], "Our Lord, You did not create this aimlessly; exalted are You [above such a thing]; then protect us from the punishment of the Fire

رَبَّنَآ إِنَّكَ مَن تُدْخِلِ اِ۬لنَّارَ فَقَدَ اَخْزَيْتَهُۥۖ وَمَا لِلظَّٰلِمِينَ مِنَ اَنص۪ارٖۖ ﲿ

Rabbanâ innaka man tudkhili nnâra faqada khzaytahû wamâ lizzâlimîna mina nsêr

Seigneur! Quiconque Tu fais entrer dans le Feu, Tu le couvres vraiment d'ignominie. Et pour les injustes, il n'y a pas de secoureurs

Our Lord, indeed whoever You admit to the Fire - You have disgraced him, and for the wrongdoers there are no helpers

رَّبَّنَآ إِنَّنَا سَمِعْنَا مُنَادِياٗ يُنَادِے لِلِايمَٰنِ أَنَ اٰمِنُواْ بِرَبِّكُمْ فَـَٔامَنَّاۖ رَبَّنَا فَاغْفِرْ لَنَا ذُنُوبَنَا وَكَفِّرْ عَنَّا سَيِّـَٔاتِنَا وَتَوَفَّنَا مَعَ اَ۬لَابْر۪ارِۖ ﳀ

Rabbanâ innanâ sami‘nâ munâdîan yunâdî liliâmâni ana âminû birabbikum fa'âmannâ rabbanâ faghfir lanâ dhunûbanâ wakaffir ‘annâ sayyi'âtinâ watawaffanâ ma‘a labrêr

Seigneur! Nous avons entendu l'appel de celui qui a appelé ainsi à la foi: «Croyez en votre Seigneur» et dès lors nous avons cru. Seigneur, pardonne-nous nos péchés, efface de nous nos méfaits, et place nous, à notre mort, avec les gens de bien

Our Lord, indeed we have heard a caller calling to faith, [saying], 'Believe in your Lord,' and we have believed. Our Lord, so forgive us our sins and remove from us our misdeeds and cause us to die with the righteous

رَبَّنَا وَءَاتِنَا مَا وَعَدتَّنَا عَلَىٰ رُسُلِكَ وَلَا تُخْزِنَا يَوْمَ اَ۬لْقِيَٰمَةِۖ إِنَّكَ لَا تُخْلِفُ اُ۬لْمِيعَادَۖ ﳁ

Rabbanâ wa'âtinâ mâ wa‘adttanâ ‘alâ rusulika walâ tukhzinâ yawma lqiyâmati innaka lâ tukhlifu lmî‘âd

Seigneur! Donne-nous ce que Tu nous as promis par Tes messagers. Et ne nous couvre pas d'ignominie au Jour de la Résurrection. Car Toi, Tu ne manques pas à Ta promesse»

Our Lord, and grant us what You promised us through Your messengers and do not disgrace us on the Day of Resurrection. Indeed, You do not fail in [Your] promise

فَاسْتَجَابَ لَهُمْ رَبُّهُمُۥٓ أَنِّے لَآ أُضِيعُ عَمَلَ عَٰمِلٖ مِّنكُم مِّن ذَكَرٍ اَوُ ا۟نث۪ىٰۖ بَعْضُكُم مِّنۢ بَعْضٖۖ فَالذِينَ هَاجَرُواْ وَأُخْرِجُواْ مِن دِيٰ۪رِهِمْ وَأُوذُواْ فِے سَبِيلِے وَقَٰتَلُواْ وَقُتِلُواْ لَأُكَفِّرَنَّ عَنْهُمْ سَيِّـَٔاتِهِمْ وَلَأُدْخِلَنَّهُمْ جَنَّٰتٖ تَجْرِے مِن تَحْتِهَا اَ۬لَانْهَٰرُ ثَوَاباٗ مِّنْ عِندِ اِ۬للَّهِۖ وَاللَّهُ عِندَهُۥ حُسْنُ اُ۬لثَّوَابِۖ ﳂ

Fastajâba lahum rabbuhumû annî lâ udî‘u ‘amala ‘âmilim minkum min dhakarina wu unthê ba‘dukum mim ba‘din falladhîna hâjarû wa'ukhrijû min diêrihim wa'ûdhû fî sabîlî waqâtalû waqutilû la'ukaffiranna ‘anhum sayyi'âtihim wala'udkhilannahum jannâtin tajrî min tahtihâ lanhâru thawâbam min ‘indi llâhi wallâhu ‘indahû husnu ththawâb

Leur Seigneur les a alors exaucés (disant): «En vérité, Je ne laisse pas perdre le bien que quiconque parmi vous a fait, homme ou femme, car vous êtes les uns des autres. Ceux donc qui ont émigré, qui ont été expulsés de leurs demeures, qui ont été persécutés dans Mon chemin, qui ont combattu, qui ont été tués, Je tiendrai certes pour expiées leurs mauvaises actions, et les ferai entrer dans les Jardins sous lesquels coulent les ruisseaux, comme récompense de la part d'Allah.» Quant à Allah, c'est auprès de Lui qu'est la plus belle récompense

And their Lord responded to them, "Never will I allow to be lost the work of [any] worker among you, whether male or female; you are of one another. So those who emigrated or were evicted from their homes or were harmed in My cause or fought or were killed - I will surely remove from them their misdeeds, and I will surely admit them to gardens beneath which rivers flow as reward from Allah, and Allah has with Him the best reward

۞ لَا يَغُرَّنَّكَ تَقَلُّبُ اُ۬لذِينَ كَفَرُواْ فِے اِ۬لْبِلَٰدِۖ ﳃ

Lâ yaghurrannaka taqallubu lladhîna kafarû fî lbilâd

Que ne t'abuse point la versatilité [pour la prospérité] dans le pays, de ceux qui sont infidèles

Be not deceived by the [uninhibited] movement of the disbelievers throughout the land

مَتَٰعٞ قَلِيلٞۖ ثُمَّ مَأْو۪يٰهُمْ جَهَنَّمُۖ وَبِيسَ اَ۬لْمِهَادُۖ ﳄ

Matâ‘un qalîlun thumma ma'wêhum jahannamu wabîsa lmihâd

Piètre jouissance! Puis leur refuge sera l'Enfer. Et quelle détestable couche

[It is but] a small enjoyment; then their [final] refuge is Hell, and wretched is the resting place

لَٰكِنِ اِ۬لذِينَ اَ۪تَّقَوْاْ رَبَّهُمْ لَهُمْ جَنَّٰتٞ تَجْرِے مِن تَحْتِهَا اَ۬لَانْهَٰرُ خَٰلِدِينَ فِيهَا نُزُلاٗ مِّنْ عِندِ اِ۬للَّهِۖ وَمَا عِندَ اَ۬للَّهِ خَيْرٞ لِّلَابْر۪ارِۖ ﳅ

Lâkini lladhîna ttaqaw rabbahum lahum jannâtun tajrî min tahtihâ lanhâru khâlidîna fîhâ nuzulam min ‘indi llâhi wamâ ‘inda llâhi khayrul lilâbrêr

Mais quant à ceux qui craignent leur Seigneur, ils auront des Jardins sous lesquels coulent les ruisseaux, pour y demeurer éternellement, un lieu d'accueil de la part d'Allah. Et ce qu'il y a auprès d'Allah est meilleur, pour les pieux

But those who feared their Lord will have gardens beneath which rivers flow, abiding eternally therein, as accommodation from Allah. And that which is with Allah is best for the righteous

وَإِنَّ مِنَ اَهْلِ اِ۬لْكِتَٰبِ لَمَنْ يُّومِنُ بِاللَّهِ وَمَآ أُنزِلَ إِلَيْكُمْ وَمَآ أُنزِلَ إِلَيْهِمْ خَٰشِعِينَ لِلهِۖ لَا يَشْتَرُونَ بِـَٔايَٰتِ اِ۬للَّهِ ثَمَناٗ قَلِيلاًۖ ا۟وْلَٰٓئِكَ لَهُمُۥٓ أَجْرُهُمْ عِندَ رَبِّهِمُۥٓۖ إِنَّ اَ۬للَّهَ سَرِيعُ اُ۬لْحِسَابِۖ ﳆ

Wa'inna mina hli lkitâbi lamay yûminu billâhi wamâ unzila ilaykum wamâ unzila ilayhim khâshi‘îna lillâhi lâ yashtarûna bi'âyâti llâhi thamanan qalîlan ulâ'ika lahumû ajruhum ‘inda rabbihimû inna llâha sarî‘u lhisâb

Il y a certes, parmi les gens du Livre ceux qui croient en Allah et en ce qu'on a fait descendre vers vous et en ce qu'on a fait descendre vers eux. Ils sont humbles envers Allah, et ne vendent point les versets d'Allah à vil prix. Voilà ceux dont la récompense est auprès de leur Seigneur. En vérité, Allah est prompt à faire les comptes

And indeed, among the People of the Scripture are those who believe in Allah and what was revealed to you and what was revealed to them, [being] humbly submissive to Allah. They do not exchange the verses of Allah for a small price. Those will have their reward with their Lord. Indeed, Allah is swift in account

يَٰٓأَيُّهَا اَ۬لذِينَ ءَامَنُواْ اُ۪صْبِرُواْ وَصَابِرُواْ وَرَابِطُواْ وَاتَّقُواْ اُ۬للَّهَ لَعَلَّكُمْ تُفْلِحُونَۖ ﳇ

Yâ'ayyuhâ lladhîna âmanû sbirû wasâbirû warâbitû wattaqû llâha la‘allakum tuflihûn

O les croyants! Soyez endurants. Incitez-vous à l'endurance. Luttez constamment (contre l'ennemi) et craignez Allah, afin que vous réussissiez

O you who have believed, persevere and endure and remain stationed and fear Allah that you may be successful
