إِذَا اَ۬لسَّمَآءُ اُ۪نفَطَرَتْ ﰀ

Idhâ ssamâ'u nfatarat

Quand le ciel se rompra

When the sky breaks apart

وَإِذَا اَ۬لْكَوَاكِبُ اُ۪نتَثَرَتْ ﰁ

Wa'idhâ lkawâkibu ntatharat

et que les étoiles se disperseront

And when the stars fall, scattering

وَإِذَا اَ۬لْبِحَارُ فُجِّرَتْ ﰂ

Wa'idhâ lbihâru fujjirat

et que les mers confondront leurs eaux

And when the seas are erupted

وَإِذَا اَ۬لْقُبُورُ بُعْثِرَتْ ﰃ

Wa'idhâ lqubûru bu‘thirat

et que les tombeaux seront bouleversés

And when the [contents of] graves are scattered

عَلِمَتْ نَفْسٞ مَّا قَدَّمَتْ وَأَخَّرَتْۖ ﰄ

‘alimat nafsum mâ qaddamat wa'akhkharat

toute âme saura alors ce qu'elle a accompli et ce qu'elle a remis de faire à plus tard

A soul will [then] know what it has put forth and kept back

يَٰٓأَيُّهَا اَ۬لِانسَٰنُ مَا غَرَّكَ بِرَبِّكَ اَ۬لْكَرِيمِ ﰅ

Yâ'ayyuhâ linsânu mâ gharraka birabbika lkarîm

O homme! Qu'est-ce qui t'a trompé au sujet de ton Seigneur, le Noble

O mankind, what has deceived you concerning your Lord, the Generous

اِ۬لذِے خَلَقَكَ فَسَوّ۪يٰكَ فَعَدَّلَكَ ﰆ

Alladhî khalaqaka fasawwêka fa‘addalak

qui t'a créé, puis modelé et constitué harmonieusement

Who created you, proportioned you, and balanced you

فِےٓ أَيِّ صُورَةٖ مَّا شَآءَ رَكَّبَكَۖ ﰇ

Fî ayyi sûratim mâ shâ'a rakkabak

Il t'a façonné dans la forme qu'Il a voulue

In whatever form He willed has He assembled you

كَلَّا بَلْ تُكَذِّبُونَ بِالدِّينِ ﰈ

Kallâ bal tukadhdhibûna biddîn

Non...! [malgré tout] vous traitez la Rétribution de mensonge

No! But you deny the Recompense

وَإِنَّ عَلَيْكُمْ لَحَٰفِظِينَ ﰉ

Wa'inna ‘alaykum lahâfizîn

alors que veillent sur vous des gardiens

And indeed, [appointed] over you are keepers

كِرَاماٗ كَٰتِبِينَ ﰊ

Kirâman kâtibîn

de nobles scribes

Noble and recording

يَعْلَمُونَ مَا تَفْعَلُونَۖ ﰋ

Ya‘lamûna mâ taf‘alûn

qui savent ce que vous faites

They know whatever you do

إِنَّ اَ۬لَابْرَارَ لَفِے نَعِيمٖۖ ﰌ

Inna labrâra lafî na‘îm

Les bons seront, certes, dans un [jardin] de délice

Indeed, the righteous will be in pleasure

وَإِنَّ اَ۬لْفُجَّارَ لَفِے جَحِيمٖ ﰍ

Wa'inna lfujjâra lafî jahîm

et les libertins seront, certes, dans une fournaise

And indeed, the wicked will be in Hellfire

يَصْلَوْنَهَا يَوْمَ اَ۬لدِّينِ ﰎ

Yaslawnahâ yawma ddîn

où ils brûleront, le jour de la Rétribution

They will [enter to] burn therein on the Day of Recompense

وَمَا هُمْ عَنْهَا بِغَآئِبِينَۖ ﰏ

Wamâ hum ‘anhâ bighâ'ibîn

incapables de s'en échapper

And never therefrom will they be absent

وَمَآ أَدْر۪يٰكَ مَا يَوْمُ اُ۬لدِّينِ ﰐ

Wamâ adrêka mâ yawmu ddîn

Et qui te dira ce qu'est le jour de la Rétribution

And what can make you know what is the Day of Recompense

ثُمَّ مَآ أَدْر۪يٰكَ مَا يَوْمُ اُ۬لدِّينِۖ ﰑ

Thumma mâ adrêka mâ yawmu ddîn

Encore une fois, qui te dira ce qu'est le jour de la Rétribution

Then, what can make you know what is the Day of Recompense

يَوْمَ لَا تَمْلِكُ نَفْسٞ لِّنَفْسٖ شَئْاٗۖ وَالَامْرُ يَوْمَئِذٖ لِّلهِۖ ﰒ

Yawma lâ tamliku nafsul linafsin shay'an walamru yawma'idhin lillâh

Le jour où aucune âme ne pourra rien en faveur d'une autre âme. Et ce jour-là, le commandement sera à Allah

It is the Day when a soul will not possess for another soul [power to do] a thing; and the command, that Day, is [entirely] with Allah
