وَالسَّمَآءِ ذَاتِ اِ۬لْبُرُوجِ ﰀ

Wassamâ'i dhâti lburûj

Par le ciel aux constellations

By the sky containing great stars

وَالْيَوْمِ اِ۬لْمَوْعُودِ ﰁ

Walyawmi lmaw‘ûd

et par le jour promis

And [by] the promised Day

وَشَاهِدٖ وَمَشْهُودٖ ﰂ

Washâhidin wamashhûd

et par le témoin et ce dont on témoigne

And [by] the witness and what is witnessed

قُتِلَ أَصْحَٰبُ اُ۬لُاخْدُودِ ﰃ

Qutila ashâbu lukhdûd

Périssent les gens de l'Uhdûd

Cursed were the companions of the trench

اِ۬لنّ۪ارِ ذَاتِ اِ۬لْوَقُودِ ﰄ

Annêri dhâti lwaqûd

par le feu plein de combustible

[Containing] the fire full of fuel

إِذْ هُمْ عَلَيْهَا قُعُودٞ ﰅ

Idh hum ‘alayhâ qu‘ûd

cependant qu'ils étaient assis tout autour

When they were sitting near it

وَهُمْ عَلَىٰ مَا يَفْعَلُونَ بِالْمُومِنِينَ شُهُودٞۖ ﰆ

Wahum ‘alâ mâ yaf‘alûna bilmûminîna shuhûd

ils étaient ainsi témoins de ce qu'ils faisaient des croyants

And they, to what they were doing against the believers, were witnesses

وَمَا نَقَمُواْ مِنْهُمُۥٓ إِلَّآ أَنْ يُّومِنُواْ بِاللَّهِ اِ۬لْعَزِيزِ اِ۬لْحَمِيدِ ﰇ

Wamâ naqamû minhumû illâ ay yûminû billâhi l‘azîzi lhamîd

à qui ils ne leur reprochaient que d'avoir cru en Allah, le Puissant, le Digne de louange

And they resented them not except because they believed in Allah, the Exalted in Might, the Praiseworthy

اِ۬لذِے لَهُۥ مُلْكُ اُ۬لسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَالَارْضِۖ وَاللَّهُ عَلَىٰ كُلِّ شَےْءٖ شَهِيدٌۖ ﰈ

Alladhî lahû mulku ssamâwâti walardi wallâhu ‘alâ kulli shay'in shahîd

Auquel appartient la royauté des cieux et de la terre. Allah est témoin de toute chose

To whom belongs the dominion of the heavens and the earth. And Allah, over all things, is Witness

اِنَّ اَ۬لذِينَ فَتَنُواْ اُ۬لْمُومِنِينَ وَالْمُومِنَٰتِ ثُمَّ لَمْ يَتُوبُواْ فَلَهُمْ عَذَابُ جَهَنَّمَ وَلَهُمْ عَذَابُ اُ۬لْحَرِيقِۖ ﰉ

Inna lladhîna fatanû lmûminîna walmûminâti thumma lam yatûbû falahum ‘adhâbu jahannama walahum ‘adhâbu lharîq

Ceux qui font subir des épreuves aux croyants et aux croyantes, puis ne se repentent pas, auront le châtiment de l'Enfer et le supplice du feu

Indeed, those who have tortured the believing men and believing women and then have not repented will have the punishment of Hell, and they will have the punishment of the Burning Fire

إِنَّ اَ۬لذِينَ ءَامَنُواْ وَعَمِلُواْ اُ۬لصَّٰلِحَٰتِ لَهُمْ جَنَّٰتٞ تَجْرِے مِن تَحْتِهَا اَ۬لَانْهَٰرُۖ ذَٰلِكَ اَ۬لْفَوْزُ اُ۬لْكَبِيرُۖ ﰊ

Inna lladhîna âmanû wa‘amilû ssâlihâti lahum jannâtun tajrî min tahtihâ lanhâru dhâlika lfawzu lkabîr

Ceux qui croient et accomplissent les bonnes œuvres auront des Jardins sous lesquels coulent les ruisseaux. Cela est le grand succès

Indeed, those who have believed and done righteous deeds will have gardens beneath which rivers flow. That is the great attainment

۞ إِنَّ بَطْشَ رَبِّكَ لَشَدِيدٌۖ ﰋ

Inna batsha rabbika lashadîd

La riposte de ton Seigneur est redoutable

Indeed, the vengeance of your Lord is severe

اِنَّهُۥ هُوَ يُبْدِۓُ وَيُعِيدُۖ ﰌ

Innahû huwa yubdî'u wayu‘îd

C'est Lui, certes, qui commence (la création) et la refait

Indeed, it is He who originates [creation] and repeats

وَهُوَ اَ۬لْغَفُورُ اُ۬لْوَدُودُ ﰍ

Wahuwa lghafûru lwadûd

Et c'est Lui le Pardonneur, le Tout-Affectueux

And He is the Forgiving, the Affectionate

ذُو اُ۬لْعَرْشِۖ اِ۬لْمَجِيدُ ﰎ

Dhû l‘arshi lmajîd

Le Maître du Trône, le Tout-Glorieux

Honorable Owner of the Throne

فَعَّالٞ لِّمَا يُرِيدُۖ ﰏ

Fa‘‘âlul limâ yurîd

Il réalise parfaitement tout ce qu'Il veut

Effecter of what He intends

هَلَ اَت۪يٰكَ حَدِيثُ اُ۬لْجُنُودِ ﰐ

Hala têka hadîthu ljunûd

T'est-il parvenu le récit des armées

Has there reached you the story of the soldiers

فِرْعَوْنَ وَثَمُودَۖ ﰑ

Fir‘awna wathamûd

de Pharaon, et de Thamûd

[Those of] Pharaoh and Thamud

بَلِ اِ۬لذِينَ كَفَرُواْ فِے تَكْذِيبٖ ﰒ

Bali lladhîna kafarû fî takdhîb

Mais ceux qui ne croient pas persistent à démentir

But they who disbelieve are in [persistent] denial

وَاللَّهُ مِنْ وَّرَآئِهِم مُّحِيطُۢۖ ﰓ

Wallâhu miw warâ'ihim muhît

alors qu'Allah, derrière eux, les cerne de toutes parts

While Allah encompasses them from behind

بَلْ هُوَ قُرْءَانٞ مَّجِيدٞ ﰔ

Bal huwa qur'ânum majîd

Mais c'est plutôt un Coran glorifié

But this is an honored Qur'an

فِے لَوْحٖ مَّحْفُوظٞۖ ﰕ

Fî lawhim mahfûz

préservé sur une Tablette (auprès d'Allah)

[Inscribed] in a Preserved Slate
