وَالْعَٰدِيَٰتِ ضَبْحاٗ ﰀ

Wal‘âdiyâti dabhâ

Par les coursiers qui halètent

By the racers, panting

فَالْمُورِيَٰتِ قَدْحاٗ ﰁ

Falmûriyâti qadhâ

qui font jaillir des étincelles

And the producers of sparks [when] striking

فَالْمُغِيرَٰتِ صُبْحاٗ ﰂ

Falmughîrâti subhâ

qui attaquent au matin

And the chargers at dawn

فَأَثَرْنَ بِهِۦ نَقْعاٗ ﰃ

Fa'atharna bihî naq‘â

et font ainsi voler la poussière

Stirring up thereby [clouds of] dust

فَوَسَطْنَ بِهِۦ جَمْعاً ﰄ

Fawasatna bihî jam‘â

et pénètrent au centre de la troupe ennemie

Arriving thereby in the center collectively

اِنَّ اَ۬لِانسَٰنَ لِرَبِّهِۦ لَكَنُودٞ ﰅ

Inna linsâna lirabbihî lakanûd

L'homme est, certes, ingrat envers son Seigneur

Indeed mankind, to his Lord, is ungrateful

وَإِنَّهُۥ عَلَىٰ ذَٰلِكَ لَشَهِيدٞ ﰆ

Wa'innahû ‘alâ dhâlika lashahîd

et pourtant, il est certes, témoin de cela

And indeed, he is to that a witness

وَإِنَّهُۥ لِحُبِّ اِ۬لْخَيْرِ لَشَدِيدٌۖ ﰇ

Wa'innahû lihubbi lkhayri lashadîd

et pour l'amour des richesses il est certes ardent

And indeed he is, in love of wealth, intense

۞ اَفَلَا يَعْلَمُ إِذَا بُعْثِرَ مَا فِے اِ۬لْقُبُورِ ﰈ

Afalâ ya‘lamu idhâ bu‘thira mâ fî lqubûr

Ne sait-il donc pas que lorsque ce qui est dans les tombes sera bouleversé

But does he not know that when the contents of the graves are scattered

وَحُصِّلَ مَا فِے اِ۬لصُّدُورِ ﰉ

Wahussila mâ fî ssudûr

et que sera dévoilé ce qui est dans les poitrines

And that within the breasts is obtained

إِنَّ رَبَّهُم بِهِمْ يَوْمَئِذٖ لَّخَبِيرٌۖ ﰊ

Inna rabbahum bihim yawma'idhil lakhabîr

ce jour-là, certes, leur Seigneur sera Parfaitement Connaisseur d'eux

Indeed, their Lord with them, that Day, is [fully] Acquainted
