طَسِٓمِّٓۖ تِلْكَ ءَايَٰتُ اُ۬لْكِتَٰبِ اِ۬لْمُبِينِۖ ﰀ

Tâ sîn mîm tilka âyâtu lkitâbi lmubîn

T'â, Sîn, Mîm Voici les versets du Livre explicite

Ta, Seen, Meem These are the verses of the clear Book

نَتْلُواْ عَلَيْكَ مِن نَّبَإِ مُوس۪ىٰ وَفِرْعَوْنَ بِالْحَقِّ لِقَوْمٖ يُومِنُونَۖ ﰁ

Natlû ‘alayka min naba'i mûsê wafir‘awna bilhaqqi liqawmin yûminûn

Nous te racontons en toute vérité, de l'histoire de Moïse et de Pharaon, à l'intention des gens qui croient

We recite to you from the news of Moses and Pharaoh in truth for a people who believe

إِنَّ فِرْعَوْنَ عَلَا فِے اِ۬لَارْضِ وَجَعَلَ أَهْلَهَا شِيَعاٗ يَسْتَضْعِفُ طَآئِفَةٗ مِّنْهُمْ يُذَبِّحُ أَبْنَآءَهُمْ وَيَسْتَحْيِۦ نِسَآءَهُمُۥٓۖ إِنَّهُۥ كَانَ مِنَ اَ۬لْمُفْسِدِينَۖ ﰂ

Inna fir‘awna ‘alâ fî lardi waja‘ala ahlahâ shiya‘an yastad‘ifu tâ'ifatam minhum yudhabbihu abnâ'ahum wayastahyî nisâ'ahumû innahû kâna mina lmufsidîn

Pharaon était hautain sur terre; il répartit en clans ses habitants, afin d'abuser de la faiblesse de l'un d'eux: Il égorgeait leurs fils et laissait vivantes leurs femmes. Il était vraiment parmi les fauteurs de désordre

Indeed, Pharaoh exalted himself in the land and made its people into factions, oppressing a sector among them, slaughtering their [newborn] sons and keeping their females alive. Indeed, he was of the corrupters

وَنُرِيدُ أَن نَّمُنَّ عَلَى اَ۬لذِينَ اَ۟سْتُضْعِفُواْ فِے اِ۬لَارْضِ وَنَجْعَلَهُمُۥٓ أَئِمَّةٗ وَنَجْعَلَهُمُ اُ۬لْوَٰرِثِينَ ﰃ

Wanurîdu an namunna ‘alâ lladhîna stud‘ifû fî lardi wanaj‘alahumû a'immatan wanaj‘alahumu lwârithîn

Mais Nous voulions favoriser ceux qui avaient été faibles sur terre et en faire des dirigeants et en faire les héritiers

And We wanted to confer favor upon those who were oppressed in the land and make them leaders and make them inheritors

وَنُمَكِّنَ لَهُمْ فِے اِ۬لَارْضِ وَنُرِيَ فِرْعَوْنَ وَهَامَٰنَ وَجُنُودَهُمَا مِنْهُم مَّا كَانُواْ يَحْذَرُونَۖ ﰄ

Wanumakkina lahum fî lardi wanuriya fir‘awna wahâmâna wajunûdahumâ minhum mâ kânû yahdharûn

et les établir puissamment sur terre, et faire voir à Pharaon, à Hâmân, et à leurs soldats, ce dont ils redoutaient

And establish them in the land and show Pharaoh and [his minister] Haman and their soldiers through them that which they had feared

وَأَوْحَيْنَآ إِلَىٰٓ أُمِّ مُوس۪ىٰٓ أَنَ اَرْضِعِيهِ فَإِذَا خِفْتِ عَلَيْهِ فَأَلْقِيهِ فِے اِ۬لْيَمِّ وَلَا تَخَافِے وَلَا تَحْزَنِےٓۖ إِنَّا رَآدُّوهُ إِلَيْكِ وَجَاعِلُوهُ مِنَ اَ۬لْمُرْسَلِينَۖ ﰅ

Wa'awhaynâ ilâ ummi mûsê ana rdi‘îhi fa'idhâ khifti ‘alayhi fa'alqîhi fî lyammi walâ takhâfî walâ tahzanî innâ râddûhu ilayki wajâ‘ilûhu mina lmursalîn

Et Nous révélâmes à la mère de Moïse [ceci]: «Allaite-le. Et quand tu craindras pour lui, jette-le dans le flot. Et n'aie pas peur et ne t'attriste pas: Nous te le rendrons et ferons de lui un Messager»

And We inspired to the mother of Moses, "Suckle him; but when you fear for him, cast him into the river and do not fear and do not grieve. Indeed, We will return him to you and will make him [one] of the messengers

فَالْتَقَطَهُۥٓ ءَالُ فِرْعَوْنَ لِيَكُونَ لَهُمْ عَدُوّاٗ وَحَزَناًۖ اِنَّ فِرْعَوْنَ وَهَامَٰنَ وَجُنُودَهُمَا كَانُواْ خَٰطِـِٕينَۖ ﰆ

Faltaqatahû âlu fir‘awna liyakûna lahum ‘aduwwan wahazanani nna fir‘awna wahâmâna wajunûdahumâ kânû khâti'în

Les gens de Pharaon le recueillirent, pour qu'il leur soit un ennemi et une source d'affliction! Pharaon, Hâmân et leurs soldats étaient fautifs

And the family of Pharaoh picked him up [out of the river] so that he would become to them an enemy and a [cause of] grief. Indeed, Pharaoh and Haman and their soldiers were deliberate sinners

وَقَالَتِ اِ۪مْرَأَتُ فِرْعَوْنَ قُرَّتُ عَيْنٖ لِّے وَلَكَ لَا تَقْتُلُوهُۖ عَس۪ىٰٓ أَنْ يَّنفَعَنَآ أَوْ نَتَّخِذَهُۥ وَلَداٗ وَهُمْ لَا يَشْعُرُونَۖ ﰇ

Waqâlati mra'atu fir‘awna qurratu ‘aynil lî walaka lâ taqtulûhu ‘asê ay yanfa‘anâ aw nattakhidhahû waladan wahum lâ yash‘urûn

Et la femme de Pharaon dit: «(Cet enfant) réjouira mon œil et le tien! Ne le tuez pas. Il pourrait nous être utile ou le prendrons-nous pour enfant». Et ils ne pressentaient rien

And the wife of Pharaoh said, "[He will be] a comfort of the eye for me and for you. Do not kill him; perhaps he may benefit us, or we may adopt him as a son." And they perceived not

وَأَصْبَحَ فُؤَادُ أُمِّ مُوس۪ىٰ فَٰرِغاً اِن كَٰدَتْ لَتُبْدِے بِهِۦ لَوْلَآ أَن رَّبَطْنَا عَلَىٰ قَلْبِهَا لِتَكُونَ مِنَ اَ۬لْمُومِنِينَۖ ﰈ

Wa'asbaha fu'âdu ummi mûsê fârighani n kâdat latubdî bihî lawlâ ar rabatnâ ‘alâ qalbihâ litakûna mina lmûminîn

Et le cœur de la mère de Moïse devint vide. Peu s'en fallut qu'elle ne divulguât tout, si Nous n'avions pas renforcé son cœur pour qu'elle restât du nombre des croyants

And the heart of Moses' mother became empty [of all else]. She was about to disclose [the matter concerning] him had We not bound fast her heart that she would be of the believers

وَقَالَتْ لِأُخْتِهِۦ قُصِّيهِ فَبَصُرَتْ بِهِۦ عَن جُنُبٖ وَهُمْ لَا يَشْعُرُونَۖ ﰉ

Waqâlat li'ukhtihî qussîhi fabasurat bihî ‘an junubin wahum lâ yash‘urûn

Elle dit à sa sœur: «Suis-le» elle l'aperçut alors de loin sans qu'ils ne s'en rendent compte

And she said to his sister, "Follow him"; so she watched him from a distance while they perceived not

۞ وَحَرَّمْنَا عَلَيْهِ اِ۬لْمَرَاضِعَ مِن قَبْلُ فَقَالَتْ هَلَ اَدُلُّكُمْ عَلَىٰٓ أَهْلِ بَيْتٖ يَكْفُلُونَهُۥ لَكُمْ وَهُمْ لَهُۥ نَٰصِحُونَۖ ﰊ

Waharramnâ ‘alayhi lmarâdi‘a min qablu faqâlat hala dullukum ‘alâ ahli baytin yakfulûnahû lakum wahum lahû nâsihûn

Nous lui avions interdit auparavant (le sein) des nourrices. Elle (la sœur de Moïse) dit donc: «Voulez-vous que je vous indique les gens d'une maison qui s'en chargeront pour vous tout en étant bienveillants à son égard?»

And We had prevented from him [all] wet nurses before, so she said, "Shall I direct you to a household that will be responsible for him for you while they are to him [for his upbringing] sincere

فَرَدَدْنَٰهُ إِلَىٰٓ أُمِّهِۦ كَےْ تَقَرَّ عَيْنُهَا وَلَا تَحْزَنَ وَلِتَعْلَمَ أَنَّ وَعْدَ اَ۬للَّهِ حَقّٞۖ وَلَٰكِنَّ أَكْثَرَهُمْ لَا يَعْلَمُونَۖ ﰋ

Faradadnâhu ilâ ummihî kay taqarra ‘aynuhâ walâ tahzana walita‘lama anna wa‘da llâhi haqqun walâkinna aktharahum lâ ya‘lamûn

Ainsi Nous le rendîmes à sa mère, afin que son œil se réjouisse, qu'elle ne s'affligeât pas et qu'elle sût que la promesse d'Allah est vraie. Mais la plupart d'entre eux ne savent pas

So We restored him to his mother that she might be content and not grieve and that she would know that the promise of Allah is true. But most of the people do not know

وَلَمَّا بَلَغَ أَشُدَّهُۥ وَاسْتَو۪ىٰٓ ءَاتَيْنَٰهُ حُكْماٗ وَعِلْماٗۖ وَكَذَٰلِكَ نَجْزِے اِ۬لْمُحْسِنِينَۖ ﰌ

Walammâ balagha ashuddahû wastawê âtaynâhu hukman wa‘ilman wakadhâlika najzî lmuhsinîn

Et quand il eut atteint sa maturité et sa pleine formation, Nous lui donnâmes la faculté de juger et une science. C'est ainsi que Nous récompensons les bienfaisants

And when he attained his full strength and was [mentally] mature, We bestowed upon him judgement and knowledge. And thus do We reward the doers of good

وَدَخَلَ اَ۬لْمَدِينَةَ عَلَىٰ حِينِ غَفْلَةٖ مِّنَ اَهْلِهَا فَوَجَدَ فِيهَا رَجُلَيْنِ يَقْتَتِلَٰنِ هَٰذَا مِن شِيعَتِهِۦ وَهَٰذَا مِنْ عَدُوِّهِۦۖ فَاسْتَغَٰثَهُ اُ۬لذِے مِن شِيعَتِهِۦ عَلَى اَ۬لذِے مِنْ عَدُوِّهِۦ فَوَكَزَهُۥ مُوس۪ىٰ فَقَض۪ىٰ عَلَيْهِۖ قَالَ هَٰذَا مِنْ عَمَلِ اِ۬لشَّيْطَٰنِۖ إِنَّهُۥ عَدُوّٞ مُّضِلّٞ مُّبِينٞۖ ﰍ

Wadakhala lmadînata ‘alâ hîni ghaflatim mina hlihâ fawajada fîhâ rajulayni yaqtatilâni hâdhâ min shî‘atihî wahâdhâ min ‘aduwwihî fastaghâthahu lladhî min shî‘atihî ‘alâ lladhî min ‘aduwwihî fawakazahû mûsê faqadê ‘alayhi qâla hâdhâ min ‘amali shshaytâni innahû ‘aduwwum mudillum mubîn

Il entra dans la ville à un moment d'inattention de ses habitants; il y trouva deux hommes qui se battaient, l'un était de ses partisans et l'autre de ses adversaires. L'homme de son parti l'appela au secours contre son ennemi. Moïse lui donna un coup de poing qui l'acheva. - [Moïse] dit: «Cela est l'œuvre du Diable. C'est vraiment un ennemi, un égareur évident»

And he entered the city at a time of inattention by its people and found therein two men fighting: one from his faction and one from among his enemy. And the one from his faction called for help to him against the one from his enemy, so Moses struck him and [unintentionally] killed him. [Moses] said, "This is from the work of Satan. Indeed, he is a manifest, misleading enemy

قَالَ رَبِّ إِنِّے ظَلَمْتُ نَفْسِے فَاغْفِرْ لِےۖ فَغَفَرَ لَهُۥٓۖ إِنَّهُۥ هُوَ اَ۬لْغَفُورُ اُ۬لرَّحِيمُۖ ﰎ

Qâla rabbi innî zalamtu nafsî faghfir lî faghafara lahû innahû huwa lghafûru rrahîm

Il dit: «Seigneur, je me suis fait du tort à moi-même; pardonne-moi». Et Il lui pardonna. C'est Lui vraiment le Pardonneur, le Miséricordieux

He said, "My Lord, indeed I have wronged myself, so forgive me," and He forgave him. Indeed, He is the Forgiving, the Merciful

قَالَ رَبِّ بِمَآ أَنْعَمْتَ عَلَيَّ فَلَنَ اَكُونَ ظَهِيراٗ لِّلْمُجْرِمِينَۖ ﰏ

Qâla rabbi bimâ an‘amta ‘alayya falana kûna zahîral lilmujrimîn

Il dit: «Seigneur, grâce aux bienfaits dont tu m'as comblé, jamais je ne soutiendrai les criminels»

He said, "My Lord, for the favor You bestowed upon me, I will never be an assistant to the criminals

فَأَصْبَحَ فِے اِ۬لْمَدِينَةِ خَآئِفاٗ يَتَرَقَّبُ فَإِذَا اَ۬لذِے اِ۪سْتَنصَرَهُۥ بِالَامْسِ يَسْتَصْرِخُهُۥۖ قَالَ لَهُۥ مُوس۪ىٰٓ إِنَّكَ لَغَوِيّٞ مُّبِينٞۖ ﰐ

Fa'asbaha fî lmadînati khâ'ifan yataraqqabu fa'idhâ lladhî stansarahû bilamsi yastasrikhuhû qâla lahû mûsê innaka laghawiyyum mubîn

Le lendemain matin, il se trouva en ville, craintif et regardant autour de lui, quand voilà que celui qui lui avait demandé secours la veille, l'appelait à grands cris. Moïse lui dit: «Tu es certes un provocateur déclaré»

And he became inside the city fearful and anticipating [exposure], when suddenly the one who sought his help the previous day cried out to him [once again]. Moses said to him, "Indeed, you are an evident, [persistent] deviator

فَلَمَّآ أَنَ اَرَادَ أَنْ يَّبْطِشَ بِالذِے هُوَ عَدُوّٞ لَّهُمَا قَالَ يَٰمُوس۪ىٰٓ أَتُرِيدُ أَن تَقْتُلَنِے كَمَا قَتَلْتَ نَفْساَۢ بِالَامْسِۖ إِن تُرِيدُ إِلَّآ أَن تَكُونَ جَبَّاراٗ فِے اِ۬لَارْضِ وَمَا تُرِيدُ أَن تَكُونَ مِنَ اَ۬لْمُصْلِحِينَۖ ﰑ

Falammâ ana râda ay yabtisha billadhî huwa ‘aduwwul lahumâ qâla yâmûsê aturîdu an taqtulanî kamâ qatalta nafsam bilamsi in turîdu illâ an takûna jabbâran fî lardi wamâ turîdu an takûna mina lmuslihîn

Quand il voulut porter un coup à leur ennemi commun, il (l'Israélite) dit: «O Moïse, veux-tu me tuer comme tu as tué un homme hier? Tu ne veux être qu'un tyran sur terre; et tu ne veux pas être parmi les bienfaiteurs»

And when he wanted to strike the one who was an enemy to both of them, he said, "O Moses, do you intend to kill me as you killed someone yesterday? You only want to be a tyrant in the land and do not want to be of the amenders

وَجَآءَ رَجُلٞ مِّنَ اَقْصَا اَ۬لْمَدِينَةِ يَسْع۪ىٰۖ قَالَ يَٰمُوس۪ىٰٓ إِنَّ اَ۬لْمَلَأَ يَاتَمِرُونَ بِكَ لِيَقْتُلُوكَ فَاخْرُجِ اِنِّے لَكَ مِنَ اَ۬لنَّٰصِحِينَۖ ﰒ

Wajâ'a rajulum mina qsâ lmadînati yas‘ê qâla yâmûsê inna lmala'a yâtamirûna bika liyaqtulûka fakhruji nnî laka mina nnâsihîn

Et c'est alors qu'un homme vint du bout de la ville en courant et dit: «O Moïse, les notables sont en train de se concerter à ton sujet pour te tuer. Quitte (la ville). C'est le conseil que je te donne»

And a man came from the farthest end of the city, running. He said, "O Moses, indeed the eminent ones are conferring over you [intending] to kill you, so leave [the city]; indeed, I am to you of the sincere advisors

فَخَرَجَ مِنْهَا خَآئِفاٗ يَتَرَقَّبُۖ قَالَ رَبِّ نَجِّنِے مِنَ اَ۬لْقَوْمِ اِ۬لظَّٰلِمِينَۖ ﰓ

Fakharaja minhâ khâ'ifan yataraqqabu qâla rabbi najjinî mina lqawmi zzâlimîn

Il sortit de là, craintif, regardant autour de lui. Il dit: «Seigneur, sauve-moi de [ce] peuple injuste!»

So he left it, fearful and anticipating [apprehension]. He said, "My Lord, save me from the wrongdoing people

۞ وَلَمَّا تَوَجَّهَ تِلْقَآءَ مَدْيَنَ قَالَ عَس۪ىٰ رَبِّيَ أَنْ يَّهْدِيَنِے سَوَآءَ اَ۬لسَّبِيلِۖ ﰔ

Walammâ tawajjaha tilqâ'a madyana qâla ‘asê rabbiya ay yahdiyanî sawâ'a ssabîl

Et lorsqu'il se dirigea vers Madyan, il dit: «Je souhaite que mon Seigneur me guide sur la voie droite»

And when he directed himself toward Madyan, he said, "Perhaps my Lord will guide me to the sound way

وَلَمَّا وَرَدَ مَآءَ مَدْيَنَ وَجَدَ عَلَيْهِ أُمَّةٗ مِّنَ اَ۬لنَّاسِ يَسْقُونَ ﰕ

Walammâ warada mâ'a madyana wajada ‘alayhi ummatam mina nnâsi yasqûn

Et quand il fut arrivé au point d'eau de Madyan, il y trouva un attroupement de gens abreuvant [leurs bêtes] et il trouva aussi deux femmes se tenant à l'écart et retenant [leurs bêtes]. Il dit: «Que voulez-vous?» Elles dirent: «Nous n'abreuverons que quand les bergers seront partis; et notre père est fort âgé»

And when he came to the well of Madyan, he found there a crowd of people watering [their flocks], and he found aside from them two women driving back [their flocks]. He said, "What is your circumstance?" They said, "We do not water until the shepherds dispatch [their flocks]; and our father is an old man

وَوَجَدَ مِن دُونِهِمُ اُ۪مْرَأَتَيْنِ تَذُودَٰنِۖ قَالَ مَا خَطْبُكُمَاۖ قَالَتَا لَا نَسْقِے حَتَّىٰ يُصْدِرَ اَ۬لرِّعَآءُ وَأَبُونَا شَيْخٞ كَبِيرٞۖ ﰖ

Wawajada min dûnihimu mra'atayni tadhûdâni qâla mâ khatbukumâ qâlatâ lâ nasqî hattâ yusdira rri‘â'u wa'abûnâ shaykhun kabîr

فَسَق۪ىٰ لَهُمَا ثُمَّ تَوَلّ۪ىٰٓ إِلَى اَ۬لظِّلِّ فَقَالَ رَبِّ إِنِّے لِمَآ أَنزَلْتَ إِلَيَّ مِنْ خَيْرٖ فَقِيرٞۖ ﰗ

Fasaqê lahumâ thumma tawallê ilâ zzilli faqâla rabbi innî limâ anzalta ilayya min khayrin faqîr

Il abreuva [les bêtes] pour elles puis retourna à l'ombre et dit: «Seigneur, j'ai grand besoin du bien que tu feras descendre vers moi»

So he watered [their flocks] for them; then he went back to the shade and said, "My Lord, indeed I am, for whatever good You would send down to me, in need

فَجَآءَتْهُ إِحْد۪يٰهُمَا تَمْشِے عَلَى اَ۪سْتِحْيَآءٖۖ قَالَتِ اِنَّ أَبِے يَدْعُوكَ لِيَجْزِيَكَ أَجْرَ مَا سَقَيْتَ لَنَاۖ فَلَمَّا جَآءَهُۥ وَقَصَّ عَلَيْهِ اِ۬لْقَصَصَ قَالَ لَا تَخَفْ نَجَوْتَ مِنَ اَ۬لْقَوْمِ اِ۬لظَّٰلِمِينَۖ ﰘ

Fajâ'athu ihdêhumâ tamshî ‘alâ stihyâ'in qâlati nna abî yad‘ûka liyajziyaka ajra mâ saqayta lanâ falammâ jâ'ahû waqassa ‘alayhi lqasasa qâla lâ takhaf najawta mina lqawmi zzâlimîn

Puis l'une des deux femmes vint à lui, d'une démarche timide, et lui dit: «Mon père t'appelle pour te récompenser pour avoir abreuvé pour nous». Et quand il fut venu auprès de lui et qu'il lui eut raconté son histoire, il (le vieillard) dit: «N'aie aucune crainte: tu as échappé aux gens injustes»

Then one of the two women came to him walking with shyness. She said, "Indeed, my father invites you that he may reward you for having watered for us." So when he came to him and related to him the story, he said, "Fear not. You have escaped from the wrongdoing people

قَالَتِ اِحْد۪يٰهُمَا يَٰٓأَبَتِ اِ۪سْتَٰجِرْهُۖ إِنَّ خَيْرَ مَنِ اِ۪سْتَٰجَرْتَ اَ۬لْقَوِيُّ اُ۬لَامِينُۖ ﰙ

Qâlati hdêhumâ yâ'abati stâjirhu inna khayra mani stâjarta lqawiyyu lamîn

L'une d'elles dit: «O mon père, engage-le [à ton service] moyennant salaire, car le meilleur à engager c'est celui qui est fort et digne de confiance»

One of the women said, "O my father, hire him. Indeed, the best one you can hire is the strong and the trustworthy

قَالَ إِنِّيَ أُرِيدُ أَنُ ا۟نكِحَكَ إِحْدَى اَ۪بْنَتَيَّ هَٰتَيْنِ عَلَىٰٓ أَن تَاجُرَنِے ثَمَٰنِيَ حِجَجٖۖ فَإِنَ اَتْمَمْتَ عَشْراٗ فَمِنْ عِندِكَۖ وَمَآ أُرِيدُ أَنَ اَشُقَّ عَلَيْكَۖ سَتَجِدُنِيَ إِن شَآءَ اَ۬للَّهُ مِنَ اَ۬لصَّٰلِحِينَۖ ﰚ

Qâla inniya urîdu anu unkihaka ihdâ bnatayya hâtayni ‘alâ an tâjuranî thamâniya hijajin fa'ina tmamta ‘ashran famin ‘indika wamâ urîdu ana shuqqa ‘alayka satajiduniya in shâ'a llâhu mina ssâlihîn

Il dit: «Je voudrais te marier à l'une de mes deux filles que voici, à condition que tu travailles à mon service durant huit ans. Si tu achèves dix [années], ce sera de ton bon gré; je ne veux cependant rien t'imposer d'excessif. Tu me trouveras, si Allah le veut, du nombre des gens de bien»

He said, "Indeed, I wish to wed you one of these, my two daughters, on [the condition] that you serve me for eight years; but if you complete ten, it will be [as a favor] from you. And I do not wish to put you in difficulty. You will find me, if Allah wills, from among the righteous

قَالَ ذَٰلِكَ بَيْنِے وَبَيْنَكَۖ أَيَّمَا اَ۬لَاجَلَيْنِ قَضَيْتُ فَلَا عُدْوَٰنَ عَلَيَّۖ وَاللَّهُ عَلَىٰ مَا نَقُولُ وَكِيلٞۖ ﰛ

Qâla dhâlika baynî wabaynaka ayyamâ lajalayni qadaytu falâ ‘udwâna ‘alayya wallâhu ‘alâ mâ naqûlu wakîl

«C'est (conclu) entre toi et moi, dit [Moïse]. Quel que soit celui des deux termes que je m'assigne, il n'y aura nulle pression sur moi. Et Allah est Garant de ce que nous disons»

[Moses] said, "That is [established] between me and you. Whichever of the two terms I complete - there is no injustice to me, and Allah, over what we say, is Witness

۞ فَلَمَّا قَض۪ىٰ مُوسَى اَ۬لَاجَلَ وَسَارَ بِأَهْلِهِۦٓ ءَانَسَ مِن جَانِبِ اِ۬لطُّورِ نَاراٗۖ قَالَ لِأَهْلِهِ اِ۟مْكُثُوٓاْ إِنِّيَ ءَانَسْتُ نَاراٗ لَّعَلِّيَ ءَاتِيكُم مِّنْهَا بِخَبَرٍ اَوْ جِذْوَةٖ مِّنَ اَ۬لنّ۪ارِ لَعَلَّكُمْ تَصْطَلُونَۖ ﰜ

Falammâ qadê mûsâ lajala wasâra bi'ahlihî ânasa min jânibi ttûri nâran qâla li'ahlihi mkuthû inniya ânastu nâral la‘alliya âtîkum minhâ bikhabarina w jidhwatim mina nnêri la‘allakum tastalûn

Puis, lorsque Moïse eut accompli la période convenue et qu'il se mit en route avec sa famille, il vit un feu du côté du Mont. Il dit à sa famille: «Demeurez ici. J'ai vu du feu. Peut-être vous en apporterai-je une nouvelle ou un tison de feu afin que vous vous réchauffiez»

And when Moses had completed the term and was traveling with his family, he perceived from the direction of the mount a fire. He said to his family, "Stay here; indeed, I have perceived a fire. Perhaps I will bring you from there [some] information or burning wood from the fire that you may warm yourselves

فَلَمَّآ أَت۪يٰهَا نُودِيَ مِن شَٰطِےِٕ اِ۬لْوَادِ اِ۬لَايْمَنِ فِے اِ۬لْبُقْعَةِ اِ۬لْمُبَٰرَكَةِ مِنَ اَ۬لشَّجَرَةِ أَنْ يَّٰمُوس۪ىٰٓ إِنِّيَ أَنَا اَ۬للَّهُ رَبُّ اُ۬لْعَٰلَمِينَ ﰝ

Falammâ atêhâ nûdiya min shâtî'i lwâdi laymani fî lbuq‘ati lmubârakati mina shshajarati ay yamûsê inniya anâ llâhu rabbu l‘âlamîn

Puis quand il y arriva, on l'appela, du flanc droit de la vallée, dans la place bénie, à partir de l'arbre: «O Moïse! C'est Moi Allah, le Seigneur de l'univers»

But when he came to it, he was called from the right side of the valley in a blessed spot - from the tree, "O Moses, indeed I am Allah, Lord of the worlds

وَأَنَ اَلْقِ عَصَاكَۖ فَلَمَّا ر۪ء۪اهَا تَهْتَزُّ كَأَنَّهَا جَآنّٞ وَلّ۪ىٰ مُدْبِراٗ وَلَمْ يُعَقِّبْۖ يَٰمُوس۪ىٰٓ أَقْبِلْ وَلَا تَخَفِۖ اِنَّكَ مِنَ اَ۬لَامِنِينَۖ ﰞ

Wa'ana lqi ‘asâka falammâ re'êhâ tahtazzu ka'annahâ jânnun wallê mudbiran walam yu‘aqqib yâmûsê aqbil walâ takhafi nnaka mina laminîn

Et: «Jette ton bâton» Puis quand il le vit remuer comme si c'était un serpent, il tourna le dos sans même se retourner. «O Moïse! Approche et n'aie pas peur: tu es du nombre de ceux qui sont en sécurité

And [he was told], "Throw down your staff." But when he saw it writhing as if it was a snake, he turned in flight and did not return. [Allah said], "O Moses, approach and fear not. Indeed, you are of the secure

اَ۟سْلُكْ يَدَكَ فِے جَيْبِكَ تَخْرُجْ بَيْضَآءَ مِنْ غَيْرِ سُوٓءٖۖ وَاضْمُمِ اِلَيْكَ جَنَاحَكَ مِنَ اَ۬لرَّهَبِۖ فَذَٰنِكَ بُرْهَٰنَٰنِ مِن رَّبِّكَ إِلَىٰ فِرْعَوْنَ وَمَلَإِيْهِۦٓۖ إِنَّهُمْ كَانُواْ قَوْماٗ فَٰسِقِينَۖ ﰟ

Usluk yadaka fî jaybika takhruj baydâ'a min ghayri sû'in wadmumi layka janâhaka mina rrahabi fadhânika burhânâni mir rabbika ilâ fir‘awna wamala'iyhî innahum kânû qawman fâsiqîn

Introduis ta main dans l'ouverture de ta tunique: elle sortira blanche sans aucun mal. Et serre ton bras contre toi pour ne pas avoir peur. Voilà donc deux preuves de ton Seigneur pour Pharaon et ses notables. Ce sont vraiment des gens pervers»

Insert your hand into the opening of your garment; it will come out white, without disease. And draw in your arm close to you [as prevention] from fear, for those are two proofs from your Lord to Pharaoh and his establishment. Indeed, they have been a people defiantly disobedient

قَالَ رَبِّ إِنِّے قَتَلْتُ مِنْهُمْ نَفْساٗ فَأَخَافُ أَنْ يَّقْتُلُونِ ﰠ

Qâla rabbi innî qataltu minhum nafsan fa'akhâfu ay yaqtulûn

«Seigneur, dit [Moïse], j'ai tué un des leurs et je crains qu'ils ne me tuent

He said, "My Lord, indeed, I killed from among them someone, and I fear they will kill me

وَأَخِے هَٰرُونُ هُوَ أَفْصَحُ مِنِّے لِسَاناٗ فَأَرْسِلْهُ مَعِے رِداٗ يُصَدِّقْنِےٓۖ إِنِّيَ أَخَافُ أَنْ يُّكَذِّبُونِۦۖ ﰡ

Wa'akhî hârûnu huwa afsahu minnî lisânan fa'arsilhu ma‘î ridan yusaddiqnî inniya akhâfu ay yukadhdhibûnî

Mais Aaron, mon frère, est plus éloquent que moi. Envoie-le donc avec moi comme auxiliaire, pour déclarer ma véracité: je crains, vraiment, qu'ils ne me traitent de menteur»

And my brother Aaron is more fluent than me in tongue, so send him with me as support, verifying me. Indeed, I fear that they will deny me

قَالَ سَنَشُدُّ عَضُدَكَ بِأَخِيكَ وَنَجْعَلُ لَكُمَا سُلْطَٰناٗ فَلَا يَصِلُونَ إِلَيْكُمَا بِـَٔايَٰتِنَآۖ أَنتُمَا وَمَنِ اِ۪تَّبَعَكُمَا اَ۬لْغَٰلِبُونَۖ ﰢ

Qâla sanashuddu ‘adudaka bi'akhîka wanaj‘alu lakumâ sultânan falâ yasilûna ilaykumâ bi'âyâtinâ antumâ wamani ttaba‘akumâ lghâlibûn

[Allah] dit: «Nous allons, par ton frère, fortifier ton bras, et vous donner des arguments irréfutables; ils ne sauront vous atteindre, grâce à Nos signes [Nos miracles]. Vous deux et ceux qui vous suivront seront les vainqueurs

[Allah] said, "We will strengthen your arm through your brother and grant you both supremacy so they will not reach you. [It will be] through Our signs; you and those who follow you will be the predominant

فَلَمَّا جَآءَهُم مُّوس۪ىٰ بِـَٔايَٰتِنَا بَيِّنَٰتٖ قَالُواْ مَا هَٰذَآ إِلَّا سِحْرٞ مُّفْتَرىٗ وَمَا سَمِعْنَا بِهَٰذَا فِےٓ ءَابَآئِنَا اَ۬لَاوَّلِينَۖ ﰣ

Falammâ jâ'ahum mûsê bi'âyâtinâ bayyinâtin qâlû mâ hâdhâ illâ sihrum muftaran wamâ sami‘nâ bihâdhâ fî âbâ'inâ lawwalîn

Puis, quand Moïse vint à eux avec Nos prodiges évidents, ils dirent: «Ce n'est là que magie inventée. Jamais nous n'avons entendu parler de cela chez nos premiers ancêtres»

But when Moses came to them with Our signs as clear evidences, they said, "This is not except invented magic, and we have not heard of this [religion] among our forefathers

وَقَالَ مُوس۪ىٰ رَبِّيَ أَعْلَمُ بِمَن جَآءَ بِالْهُد۪ىٰ مِنْ عِندِهِۦ وَمَن تَكُونُ لَهُۥ عَٰقِبَةُ اُ۬لدّ۪ارِۖ إِنَّهُۥ لَا يُفْلِحُ اُ۬لظَّٰلِمُونَۖ ﰤ

Waqâla mûsê rabbiya a‘lamu biman jâ'a bilhudê min ‘indihî waman takûnu lahû ‘âqibatu ddêri innahû lâ yuflihu zzâlimûn

Et Moïse dit: «Mon Seigneur connaît mieux qui est venu de Sa part avec la guidée, et à qui appartiendra la Demeure finale. Vraiment, les injustes ne réussiront pas»

And Moses said, "My Lord is more knowing [than we or you] of who has come with guidance from Him and to whom will be succession in the home. Indeed, wrongdoers do not succeed

وَقَالَ فِرْعَوْنُ يَٰٓأَيُّهَا اَ۬لْمَلَأُ مَا عَلِمْتُ لَكُم مِّنِ اِلَٰهٍ غَيْرِے فَأَوْقِدْ لِے يَٰهَامَٰنُ عَلَى اَ۬لطِّينِ فَاجْعَل لِّے صَرْحاٗ لَّعَلِّيَ أَطَّلِعُ إِلَىٰٓ إِلَٰهِ مُوس۪ىٰ وَإِنِّے لَأَظُنُّهُۥ مِنَ اَ۬لْكَٰذِبِينَۖ ﰥ

Waqâla fir‘awnu yâ'ayyuhâ lmala'u mâ ‘alimtu lakum mini lâhin ghayrî fa'awqid lî yâhâmânu ‘alâ ttîni faj‘al lî sarhal la‘alliya attali‘u ilâ ilâhi mûsê wa'innî la'azunnuhû mina lkâdhibîn

Et Pharaon dit: «O notables, je ne connais pas de divinité pour vous, autre que moi. Hâmân, allume-moi du feu sur l'argile puis construis-moi une tour peut-être alors monterai-je jusqu'au Dieu de Moïse. Je pense plutôt qu'il est du nombre des menteurs»

And Pharaoh said, "O eminent ones, I have not known you to have a god other than me. Then ignite for me, O Haman, [a fire] upon the clay and make for me a tower that I may look at the God of Moses. And indeed, I do think he is among the liars

۞ وَاسْتَكْبَرَ هُوَ وَجُنُودُهُۥ فِے اِ۬لَارْضِ بِغَيْرِ اِ۬لْحَقِّ وَظَنُّوٓاْ أَنَّهُمُۥٓ إِلَيْنَا لَا يَرْجِعُونَۖ ﰦ

Wastakbara huwa wajunûduhû fî lardi bighayri lhaqqi wazannû annahumû ilaynâ lâ yarji‘ûn

Et il s'enfla d'orgueil sur terre ainsi que ses soldats, sans aucun droit. Et ils pensèrent qu'ils ne seraient pas ramenés vers Nous

And he was arrogant, he and his soldiers, in the land, without right, and they thought that they would not be returned to Us

فَأَخَذْنَٰهُ وَجُنُودَهُۥ فَنَبَذْنَٰهُمْ فِے اِ۬لْيَمِّۖ فَانظُرْ كَيْفَ كَانَ عَٰقِبَةُ اُ۬لظَّٰلِمِينَۖ ﰧ

Fa'akhadhnâhu wajunûdahû fanabadhnâhum fî lyammi fânzur kayfa kâna ‘âqibatu zzâlimîn

Nous le saisîmes donc, ainsi que ses soldats, et les jetâmes dans le flot. Regarde donc ce qu'il est advenu des injustes

So We took him and his soldiers and threw them into the sea. So see how was the end of the wrongdoers

وَجَعَلْنَٰهُمُۥٓ أَئِمَّةٗ يَدْعُونَ إِلَى اَ۬لنّ۪ارِۖ وَيَوْمَ اَ۬لْقِيَٰمَةِ لَا يُنصَرُونَۖ ﰨ

Waja‘alnâhumû a'immatan yad‘ûna ilâ nnêri wayawma lqiyâmati lâ yunsarûn

Nous fîmes d'eux des dirigeants qui appellent les gens au Feu. Et au Jour de la Résurrection ils ne seront pas secourus

And We made them leaders inviting to the Fire, and on the Day of Resurrection they will not be helped

وَأَتْبَعْنَٰهُمْ فِے هَٰذِهِ اِ۬لدُّنْي۪ا لَعْنَةٗۖ وَيَوْمَ اَ۬لْقِيَٰمَةِ هُم مِّنَ اَ۬لْمَقْبُوحِينَۖ ﰩ

Wa'atba‘nâhum fî hâdhihi ddunyê la‘natan wayawma lqiyâmati hum mina lmaqbûhîn

Nous les fîmes suivre, dans cette vie ici-bas, d'une malédiction. Et au Jour de la Résurrection, ils seront parmi les honnis

And We caused to overtake them in this world a curse, and on the Day of Resurrection they will be of the despised

وَلَقَدَ اٰتَيْنَا مُوسَى اَ۬لْكِتَٰبَ مِنۢ بَعْدِ مَآ أَهْلَكْنَا اَ۬لْقُرُونَ اَ۬لُاول۪ىٰ بَصَآئِرَ لِلنَّاسِ وَهُدىٗ وَرَحْمَةٗ لَّعَلَّهُمْ يَتَذَكَّرُونَۖ ﰪ

Walaqada âtaynâ mûsâ lkitâba mim ba‘di mâ ahlaknâ lqurûna lûlê basâ'ira linnâsi wahudan warahmatal la‘allahum yatadhakkarûn

Nous avons en effet, donné le Livre à Moïse, - après avoir fait périr les anciennes générations, - en tant que preuves illuminantes pour les gens, ainsi que guidée et miséricorde afin qu'ils se souviennent

And We gave Moses the Scripture, after We had destroyed the former generations, as enlightenment for the people and guidance and mercy that they might be reminded

وَمَا كُنتَ بِجَانِبِ اِ۬لْغَرْبِيِّ إِذْ قَضَيْنَآ إِلَىٰ مُوسَى اَ۬لَامْرَۖ وَمَا كُنتَ مِنَ اَ۬لشَّٰهِدِينَۖ ﰫ

Wamâ kunta bijânibi lgharbiyyi idh qadaynâ ilâ mûsâ lamra wamâ kunta mina shshâhidîn

Tu n'étais pas sur le versant ouest (du Sinaï), quand Nous avons décrété les commandements à Moïse; tu n'étais pas parmi les témoins

And you, [O Muhammad], were not on the western side [of the mount] when We revealed to Moses the command, and you were not among the witnesses [to that]

وَلَٰكِنَّآ أَنشَأْنَا قُرُوناٗ فَتَطَاوَلَ عَلَيْهِمُ اُ۬لْعُمُرُۖ وَمَا كُنتَ ثَاوِياٗ فِےٓ أَهْلِ مَدْيَنَ تَتْلُواْ عَلَيْهِمُۥٓ ءَايَٰتِنَاۖ وَلَٰكِنَّا كُنَّا مُرْسِلِينَۖ ﰬ

Walâkinnâ ansha'nâ qurûnan fatatâwala ‘alayhimu l‘umuru wamâ kunta thâwîan fî ahli madyana tatlû ‘alayhimû âyâtinâ walâkinnâ kunnâ mursilîn

Mais Nous avons fait naître des générations dont l'âge s'est prolongé. Et tu n'étais pas [non plus] résident parmi les gens de Madyan leur récitant Nos versets; mais c'est Nous qui envoyons les Messagers

But We produced [many] generations [after Moses], and prolonged was their duration. And you were not a resident among the people of Madyan, reciting to them Our verses, but We were senders [of this message]

وَمَا كُنتَ بِجَانِبِ اِ۬لطُّورِ إِذْ نَادَيْنَاۖ وَلَٰكِن رَّحْمَةٗ مِّن رَّبِّكَ لِتُنذِرَ قَوْماٗ مَّآ أَت۪يٰهُم مِّن نَّذِيرٖ مِّن قَبْلِكَ لَعَلَّهُمْ يَتَذَكَّرُونَۖ ﰭ

Wamâ kunta bijânibi ttûri idh nâdaynâ walâkir rahmatam mir rabbika litundhira qawmam mâ atêhum min nadhîrim min qablika la‘allahum yatadhakkarûn

Et tu n'étais pas au flanc du Mont Tor quand Nous avons appelé. Mais (tu es venu comme) une miséricorde de ton Seigneur, pour avertir un peuple à qui nul avertisseur avant toi n'est venu, afin qu'ils se souviennent

And you were not at the side of the mount when We called [Moses] but [were sent] as a mercy from your Lord to warn a people to whom no warner had come before you that they might be reminded

وَلَوْلَآ أَن تُصِيبَهُم مُّصِيبَةُۢ بِمَا قَدَّمَتَ اَيْدِيهِمْ فَيَقُولُواْ رَبَّنَا لَوْلَآ أَرْسَلْتَ إِلَيْنَا رَسُولاٗ فَنَتَّبِعَ ءَايَٰتِكَ وَنَكُونَ مِنَ اَ۬لْمُومِنِينَۖ ﰮ

Walawlâ an tusîbahum musîbatum bimâ qaddamata ydîhim fayaqûlû rabbanâ lawlâ arsalta ilaynâ rasûlan fanattabi‘a âyâtika wanakûna mina lmûminîn

Si un malheur les atteignait en rétribution de ce que leurs propres mains avaient préparé, ils diraient: «Seigneur, pourquoi ne nous as-Tu pas envoyé un Messager? Nous aurions alors suivi Tes versets et nous aurions été croyants»

And if not that a disaster should strike them for what their hands put forth [of sins] and they would say, "Our Lord, why did You not send us a messenger so we could have followed Your verses and been among the believers

فَلَمَّا جَآءَهُمُ اُ۬لْحَقُّ مِنْ عِندِنَا قَالُواْ لَوْلَآ أُوتِيَ مِثْلَ مَآ أُوتِيَ مُوس۪ىٰٓۖ أَوَلَمْ يَكْفُرُواْ بِمَآ أُوتِيَ مُوس۪ىٰ مِن قَبْلُۖ قَالُواْ سَٰحِرَٰنِ تَظَٰهَرَاۖ وَقَالُوٓاْ إِنَّا بِكُلّٖ كَٰفِرُونَۖ ﰯ

Falammâ jâ'ahumu lhaqqu min ‘indinâ qâlû lawlâ ûtiya mithla mâ ûtiya mûsê awalam yakfurû bimâ ûtiya mûsê min qablu qâlû sâhirâni tazâharâ waqâlû innâ bikullin kâfirûn

Mais quand la vérité leur est venue de Notre part, ils ont dit: «Si seulement il avait reçu la même chose que Moïse! «Est-ce qu'ils n'ont pas nié ce qui auparavant fut apporté à Moïse? Ils dirent: «Deux magies se sont mutuellement soutenues!» Et ils dirent: «Nous n'avons foi en aucune»

But when the truth came to them from Us, they said, "Why was he not given like that which was given to Moses?" Did they not disbelieve in that which was given to Moses before? They said, "[They are but] two works of magic supporting each other, and indeed we are, in both, disbelievers

قُلْ فَاتُواْ بِكِتَٰبٖ مِّنْ عِندِ اِ۬للَّهِ هُوَ أَهْد۪ىٰ مِنْهُمَآ أَتَّبِعْهُ إِن كُنتُمْ صَٰدِقِينَۖ ﰰ

Qul fâtû bikitâbim min ‘indi llâhi huwa ahdê minhumâ attabi‘hu in kuntum sâdiqîn

Dis-leur: «Apportez donc un Livre venant d'Allah qui soit meilleur guide que ces deux-là, et je le suivrai si vous êtes véridiques»

Say, "Then bring a scripture from Allah which is more guiding than either of them that I may follow it, if you should be truthful

فَإِن لَّمْ يَسْتَجِيبُواْ لَكَ فَاعْلَمَ اَنَّمَا يَتَّبِعُونَ أَهْوَآءَهُمْۖ وَمَنَ اَضَلُّ مِمَّنِ اِ۪تَّبَعَ هَو۪يٰهُ بِغَيْرِ هُدىٗ مِّنَ اَ۬للَّهِۖ إِنَّ اَ۬للَّهَ لَا يَهْدِے اِ۬لْقَوْمَ اَ۬لظَّٰلِمِينَۖ ﰱ

Fa'il lam yastajîbû laka fa‘lama nnamâ yattabi‘ûna ahwâ'ahum wamana dallu mimmani ttaba‘a hawêhu bighayri hudam mina llâhi inna llâha lâ yahdî lqawma zzâlimîn

Mais s'ils ne te répondent pas, sache alors que c'est seulement leurs passions qu'ils suivent. Et qui est plus égaré que celui qui suit sa passion sans une guidée d'Allah? Allah vraiment, ne guide pas les gens injustes

But if they do not respond to you - then know that they only follow their [own] desires. And who is more astray than one who follows his desire without guidance from Allah? Indeed, Allah does not guide the wrongdoing people

۞ وَلَقَدْ وَصَّلْنَا لَهُمُ اُ۬لْقَوْلَ لَعَلَّهُمْ يَتَذَكَّرُونَۖ ﰲ

Walaqad wassalnâ lahumu lqawla la‘allahum yatadhakkarûn

Nous leur avons déjà exposé la Parole (le Coran) afin qu'ils se souviennent

And We have [repeatedly] conveyed to them the Qur'an that they might be reminded

اَ۬لذِينَ ءَاتَيْنَٰهُمُ اُ۬لْكِتَٰبَ مِن قَبْلِهِۦ هُم بِهِۦ يُومِنُونَۖ ﰳ

Alladhîna âtaynâhumu lkitâba min qablihî hum bihî yûminûn

Ceux à qui, avant lui [le Coran], Nous avons apporté le Livre, y croient

Those to whom We gave the Scripture before it - they are believers in it

وَإِذَا يُتْل۪ىٰ عَلَيْهِمْ قَالُوٓاْ ءَامَنَّا بِهِۦٓ إِنَّهُ اُ۬لْحَقُّ مِن رَّبِّنَآ إِنَّا كُنَّا مِن قَبْلِهِۦ مُسْلِمِينَۖ ﰴ

Wa'idhâ yutlê ‘alayhim qâlû âmannâ bihî innahu lhaqqu mir rabbinâ innâ kunnâ min qablihî muslimîn

Et quand on le leur récite, ils disent: «Nous y croyons. Ceci est bien la vérité émanant de notre Seigneur. Déjà avant son arrivée, nous étions Soumis»

And when it is recited to them, they say, "We have believed in it; indeed, it is the truth from our Lord. Indeed we were, [even] before it, Muslims [submitting to Allah]

أُوْلَٰٓئِكَ يُوتَوْنَ أَجْرَهُم مَّرَّتَيْنِ بِمَا صَبَرُواْ وَيَدْرَءُونَ بِالْحَسَنَةِ اِ۬لسَّيِّئَةَ وَمِمَّا رَزَقْنَٰهُمْ يُنفِقُونَۖ ﰵ

Ulâ'ika yûtawna ajrahum marratayni bimâ sabarû wayadra'ûna bilhasanati ssayyî'ata wamimmâ razaqnâhum yunfiqûn

Voilà ceux qui recevront deux fois leur récompense pour leur endurance, pour avoir répondu au mal par le bien, et pour avoir dépensé de ce que Nous leur avons attribué

Those will be given their reward twice for what they patiently endured and [because] they avert evil through good, and from what We have provided them they spend

وَإِذَا سَمِعُواْ اُ۬للَّغْوَ أَعْرَضُواْ عَنْهُ وَقَالُواْ لَنَآ أَعْمَٰلُنَا وَلَكُمُۥٓ أَعْمَٰلُكُمْ سَلَٰمٌ عَلَيْكُمْ لَا نَبْتَغِے اِ۬لْجَٰهِلِينَۖ ﰶ

Wa'idhâ sami‘û llaghwa a‘radû ‘anhu waqâlû lanâ a‘mâlunâ walakumû a‘mâlukum salâmun ‘alaykum lâ nabtaghî ljâhilîn

et quand ils entendent des futilités, ils s'en détournent et disent: «A nous nos actions, et à vous les vôtres. Paix sur vous. Nous ne recherchons pas les ignorants»

And when they hear ill speech, they turn away from it and say, "For us are our deeds, and for you are your deeds. Peace will be upon you; we seek not the ignorant

إِنَّكَ لَا تَهْدِے مَنَ اَحْبَبْتَۖ وَلَٰكِنَّ اَ۬للَّهَ يَهْدِے مَنْ يَّشَآءُۖ وَهُوَ أَعْلَمُ بِالْمُهْتَدِينَۖ ﰷ

Innaka lâ tahdî mana hbabta walâkinna llâha yahdî may yashâ'u wahuwa a‘lamu bilmuhtadîn

Tu [Muhammad] ne diriges pas celui que tu aimes: mais c'est Allah qui guide qui Il veut. Il connaît mieux cependant les bien-guidés

Indeed, [O Muhammad], you do not guide whom you like, but Allah guides whom He wills. And He is most knowing of the [rightly] guided

وَقَالُوٓاْ إِن نَّتَّبِعِ اِ۬لْهُد۪ىٰ مَعَكَ نُتَخَطَّفْ مِنَ اَرْضِنَآۖ أَوَلَمْ نُمَكِّن لَّهُمْ حَرَماً اٰمِناٗ تُجْب۪ىٰٓ إِلَيْهِ ثَمَرَٰتُ كُلِّ شَےْءٖ رِّزْقاٗ مِّن لَّدُنَّاۖ وَلَٰكِنَّ أَكْثَرَهُمْ لَا يَعْلَمُونَۖ ﰸ

Waqâlû in nattabi‘i lhudê ma‘aka nutakhattaf mina rdinâ awalam numakkil lahum haraman âminan tujbê ilayhi thamarâtu kulli shay'ir rizqam mil ladunnâ walâkinna aktharahum lâ ya‘lamûn

Et ils dirent: «Si nous suivons avec toi la bonne voie, on nous arrachera de notre terre». - Ne les avons-Nous pas établis dans une enceinte sacrée, sûre, vers laquelle des produits de toute sorte sont apportés comme attribution de Notre part? Mais la plupart d'entre eux ne savent pas

And they say, "If we were to follow the guidance with you, we would be swept from our land." Have we not established for them a safe sanctuary to which are brought the fruits of all things as provision from Us? But most of them do not know

وَكَمَ اَهْلَكْنَا مِن قَرْيَةِۢ بَطِرَتْ مَعِيشَتَهَاۖ فَتِلْكَ مَسَٰكِنُهُمْ لَمْ تُسْكَن مِّنۢ بَعْدِهِمُۥٓ إِلَّا قَلِيلاٗ وَكُنَّا نَحْنُ اُ۬لْوَٰرِثِينَۖ ﰹ

Wakama hlaknâ min qaryatim batirat ma‘îshatahâ fatilka masâkinuhum lam tuskam mim ba‘dihimû illâ qalîlan wakunnâ nahnu lwârithîn

Et combien avons-Nous fait périr de cités qui étaient ingrates (alors que leurs habitants vivaient dans l'abondance), et voilà qu'après eux leurs demeures ne sont que très peu habitées, et c'est Nous qui en fûmes l'héritier

And how many a city have We destroyed that was insolent in its [way of] living, and those are their dwellings which have not been inhabited after them except briefly. And it is We who were the inheritors

وَمَا كَانَ رَبُّكَ مُهْلِكَ اَ۬لْقُر۪ىٰ حَتَّىٰ يَبْعَثَ فِےٓ أُمِّهَا رَسُولاٗ يَتْلُواْ عَلَيْهِمُۥٓ ءَايَٰتِنَاۖ وَمَا كُنَّا مُهْلِكِے اِ۬لْقُر۪ىٰٓ إِلَّا وَأَهْلُهَا ظَٰلِمُونَۖ ﰺ

Wamâ kâna rabbuka muhlika lqurê hattâ yab‘atha fî ummihâ rasûlan yatlû ‘alayhimû âyâtinâ wamâ kunnâ muhlikî lqurê illâ wa'ahluhâ zâlimûn

Ton Seigneur ne fait pas périr des cités avant d'avoir envoyé dans leur métropole un Messager pour leur réciter Nos versets. Et Nous ne faisons périr les cités que lorsque leurs habitants sont injustes

And never would your Lord have destroyed the cities until He had sent to their mother a messenger reciting to them Our verses. And We would not destroy the cities except while their people were wrongdoers

وَمَآ أُوتِيتُم مِّن شَےْءٖ فَمَتَٰعُ اُ۬لْحَيَوٰةِ اِ۬لدُّنْي۪ا وَزِينَتُهَاۖ وَمَا عِندَ اَ۬للَّهِ خَيْرٞ وَأَبْق۪ىٰٓۖ أَفَلَا تَعْقِلُونَۖ ﰻ

Wamâ ûtîtum min shay'in famatâ‘u lhayawâti ddunyê wazînatuhâ wamâ ‘inda llâhi khayrun wa'abqê afalâ ta‘qilûn

Tout ce qui vous a été donné est la jouissance éphémère de la vie ici-bas et sa parure, alors que ce qui est auprès d'Allah est meilleur et plus durable... Ne comprenez-vous donc pas

And whatever thing you [people] have been given - it is [only for] the enjoyment of worldly life and its adornment. And what is with Allah is better and more lasting; so will you not use reason

أَفَمَنْ وَّعَدْنَٰهُ وَعْداً حَسَناٗ فَهُوَ لَٰقِيهِ كَمَن مَّتَّعْنَٰهُ مَتَٰعَ اَ۬لْحَيَوٰةِ اِ۬لدُّنْي۪ا ثُمَّ هُوَ يَوْمَ اَ۬لْقِيَٰمَةِ مِنَ اَ۬لْمُحْضَرِينَۖ ﰼ

Afamaw wa‘adnâhu wa‘dan hasanan fahuwa lâqîhi kamam matta‘nâhu matâ‘a lhayawâti ddunyê thumma huwa yawma lqiyâmati mina lmuhdarîn

Celui à qui Nous avons fait une belle promesse dont il verra l'accomplissement, est-il comparable à celui à qui Nous avons accordé la jouissance de la vie présente et qui sera ensuite le Jour de la Résurrection, de ceux qui comparaîtront (devant Nous)

Then is he whom We have promised a good promise which he will obtain like he for whom We provided enjoyment of worldly life [but] then he is, on the Day of Resurrection, among those presented [for punishment in Hell]

وَيَوْمَ يُنَادِيهِمْ فَيَقُولُ أَيْنَ شُرَكَآءِيَ اَ۬لذِينَ كُنتُمْ تَزْعُمُونَۖ ﰽ

Wayawma yunâdîhim fayaqûlu ayna shurakâ'iya lladhîna kuntum taz‘umûn

Et le jour où Il les appellera, Il dira: «Où sont ceux que vous prétendiez être Mes associés?»

And [warn of] the Day He will call them and say, "Where are My 'partners' which you used to claim

۞ قَالَ اَ۬لذِينَ حَقَّ عَلَيْهِمُ اُ۬لْقَوْلُ رَبَّنَا هَٰٓؤُلَآءِ اِ۬لذِينَ أَغْوَيْنَآ أَغْوَيْنَٰهُمْ كَمَا غَوَيْنَاۖ تَبَرَّأْنَآ إِلَيْكَۖ مَا كَانُوٓاْ إِيَّانَا يَعْبُدُونَۖ ﰾ

Qâla lladhîna haqqa ‘alayhimu lqawlu rabbanâ hâ'ulâ'i lladhîna aghwaynâ aghwaynâhum kamâ ghawaynâ tabarra'nâ ilayka mâ kânû iyyânâ ya‘budûn

Ceux contre qui la Parole se réalisera diront: «Voici, Seigneur, ceux que nous avons séduits. Nous les avons séduits comme nous nous sommes dévoyés nous-mêmes. Nous les désavouons devant Toi: ce n'est pas nous qu'ils adoraient»

Those upon whom the word will have come into effect will say, "Our Lord, these are the ones we led to error. We led them to error just as we were in error. We declare our disassociation [from them] to You. They did not used to worship us

وَقِيلَ اَ۟دْعُواْ شُرَكَآءَكُمْ فَدَعَوْهُمْ فَلَمْ يَسْتَجِيبُواْ لَهُمْ وَرَأَوُاْ اُ۬لْعَذَابَ لَوَ اَنَّهُمْ كَانُواْ يَهْتَدُونَۖ ﰿ

Waqîla d‘û shurakâ'akum fada‘awhum falam yastajîbû lahum wara'awu l‘adhâba lawa nnahum kânû yahtadûn

Et on [leur] dira: «Appelez vos associés». Ils les appelleront, mais ceux-ci ne leur répondront pas. Quand ils verront le châtiment, ils désireront alors avoir suivi le chemin droit (dans la vie d'ici-bas)

And it will be said, "Invoke your 'partners' " and they will invoke them; but they will not respond to them, and they will see the punishment. If only they had followed guidance

وَيَوْمَ يُنَادِيهِمْ فَيَقُولُ مَاذَآ أَجَبْتُمُ اُ۬لْمُرْسَلِينَۖ ﱀ

Wayawma yunâdîhim fayaqûlu mâdhâ ajabtumu lmursalîn

Et le jour où Il les appellera et qu'Il dira: «Que répondiez-vous aux Messagers?»

And [mention] the Day He will call them and say, "What did you answer the messengers

فَعَمِيَتْ عَلَيْهِمُ اُ۬لَانۢبَآءُ يَوْمَئِذٖ فَهُمْ لَا يَتَسَآءَلُونَۖ ﱁ

Fa‘amiyat ‘alayhimu lambâ'u yawma'idhin fahum lâ yatasâ'alûn

Ce jour-là, leurs arguments deviendront obscurs et ils ne se poseront point de questions

But the information will be unapparent to them that Day, so they will not [be able to] ask one another

فَأَمَّا مَن تَابَ وَءَامَنَ وَعَمِلَ صَٰلِحاٗ فَعَس۪ىٰٓ أَنْ يَّكُونَ مِنَ اَ۬لْمُفْلِحِينَۖ ﱂ

Fa'ammâ man tâba wa'âmana wa‘amila sâlihan fa‘asê ay yakûna mina lmuflihîn

Mais celui qui se sera repenti, qui aura cru et fait le bien, il se peut qu'il soit parmi ceux qui réussissent

But as for one who had repented, believed, and done righteousness, it is promised by Allah that he will be among the successful

وَرَبُّكَ يَخْلُقُ مَا يَشَآءُ وَيَخْتَارُۖ مَا كَانَ لَهُمُ اُ۬لْخِيَرَةُۖ سُبْحَٰنَ اَ۬للَّهِ وَتَعَٰل۪ىٰ عَمَّا يُشْرِكُونَۖ ﱃ

Warabbuka yakhluqu mâ yashâ'u wayakhtâru mâ kâna lahumu lkhiyaratu subhâna llâhi wata‘âlê ‘ammâ yushrikûn

Ton Seigneur crée ce qu'Il veut et Il choisit; il ne leur a jamais appartenu de choisir. Gloire à Allah! Il transcende ce qu'ils associent à Lui

And your Lord creates what He wills and chooses; not for them was the choice. Exalted is Allah and high above what they associate with Him

وَرَبُّكَ يَعْلَمُ مَا تُكِنُّ صُدُورُهُمْ وَمَا يُعْلِنُونَۖ ﱄ

Warabbuka ya‘lamu mâ tukinnu sudûruhum wamâ yu‘linûn

Ton Seigneur sait ce que cachent leurs poitrines et ce qu'ils divulguent

And your Lord knows what their breasts conceal and what they declare

وَهُوَ اَ۬للَّهُ لَآ إِلَٰهَ إِلَّا هُوَۖ لَهُ اُ۬لْحَمْدُ فِے اِ۬لُاول۪ىٰ وَالَاخِرَةِۖ وَلَهُ اُ۬لْحُكْمُۖ وَإِلَيْهِ تُرْجَعُونَۖ ﱅ

Wahuwa llâhu lâ ilâha illâ huwa lahu lhamdu fî lûlê walakhirati walahu lhukmu wa'ilayhi turja‘ûn

C'est lui Allah. Pas de divinité à part Lui. A Lui la louange ici-bas comme dans l'au-delà. A Lui appartient le jugement. Et vers Lui vous serez ramenés

And He is Allah; there is no deity except Him. To Him is [due all] praise in the first [life] and the Hereafter. And His is the [final] decision, and to Him you will be returned

قُلَ اَرَٰٓيْتُمُۥٓ إِن جَعَلَ اَ۬للَّهُ عَلَيْكُمُ اُ۬ليْلَ سَرْمَداً اِلَىٰ يَوْمِ اِ۬لْقِيَٰمَةِ مَنِ اِلَٰهٌ غَيْرُ اُ۬للَّهِ يَاتِيكُم بِضِيَآءٍۖ اَفَلَا تَسْمَعُونَۖ ﱆ

Qula râytumû in ja‘ala llâhu ‘alaykumu llayla sarmadani lâ yawmi lqiyâmati mani lâhun ghayru llâhi yâtîkum bidiyâ'ina falâ tasma‘ûn

Dis: «Que diriez-vous? Si Allah vous assignait la nuit en permanence jusqu'au Jour de la Résurrection, quelle divinité autre qu'Allah pourrait vous apporter une lumière? N'entendez-vous donc pas?»

Say, "Have you considered: if Allah should make for you the night continuous until the Day of Resurrection, what deity other than Allah could bring you light? Then will you not hear

قُلَ اَرَٰٓيْتُمُۥٓ إِن جَعَلَ اَ۬للَّهُ عَلَيْكُمُ اُ۬لنَّهَارَ سَرْمَداً اِلَىٰ يَوْمِ اِ۬لْقِيَٰمَةِ مَنِ اِلَٰهٌ غَيْرُ اُ۬للَّهِ يَاتِيكُم بِلَيْلٖ تَسْكُنُونَ فِيهِۖ أَفَلَا تُبْصِرُونَۖ ﱇ

Qula râytumû in ja‘ala llâhu ‘alaykumu nnahâra sarmadani lâ yawmi lqiyâmati mani lâhun ghayru llâhi yâtîkum bilaylin taskunûna fîhi afalâ tubsirûn

Dis: «Que diriez-vous? Si Allah vous assignait le jour en permanence jusqu'au Jour de la Résurrection, quelle divinité autre qu'Allah pourrait vous apporter une nuit durant laquelle vous reposeriez? N'observez-vous donc pas?»

Say, "Have you considered: if Allah should make for you the day continuous until the Day of Resurrection, what deity other than Allah could bring you a night in which you may rest? Then will you not see

وَمِن رَّحْمَتِهِۦ جَعَلَ لَكُمُ اُ۬ليْلَ وَالنَّهَارَ لِتَسْكُنُواْ فِيهِ وَلِتَبْتَغُواْ مِن فَضْلِهِۦ وَلَعَلَّكُمْ تَشْكُرُونَۖ ﱈ

Wamir rahmatihî ja‘ala lakumu llayla wannahâra litaskunû fîhi walitabtaghû min fadlihî wala‘allakum tashkurûn

C'est de par Sa miséricorde qu'Il vous a assigné la nuit et le jour: pour que vous vous y reposiez et cherchiez de Sa grâce, et afin que vous soyez reconnaissants

And out of His mercy He made for you the night and the day that you may rest therein and [by day] seek from His bounty and [that] perhaps you will be grateful

وَيَوْمَ يُنَادِيهِمْ فَيَقُولُ أَيْنَ شُرَكَآءِيَ اَ۬لذِينَ كُنتُمْ تَزْعُمُونَۖ ﱉ

Wayawma yunâdîhim fayaqûlu ayna shurakâ'iya lladhîna kuntum taz‘umûn

Et le jour où Il les appellera, Il dira: «Où sont ceux que vous prétendiez être Mes associés?»

And [warn of] the Day He will call them and say, "Where are my 'partners' which you used to claim

وَنَزَعْنَا مِن كُلِّ أُمَّةٖ شَهِيداٗ فَقُلْنَا هَاتُواْ بُرْهَٰنَكُمْ فَعَلِمُوٓاْ أَنَّ اَ۬لْحَقَّ لِلهِ وَضَلَّ عَنْهُم مَّا كَانُواْ يَفْتَرُونَۖ ﱊ

Wanaza‘nâ min kulli ummatin shahîdan faqulnâ hâtû burhânakum fa‘alimû anna lhaqqa lillâhi wadalla ‘anhum mâ kânû yaftarûn

Cependant, Nous ferons sortir de chaque communauté un témoin, puis Nous dirons: «Apportez votre preuve décisive». Ils sauront alors que la Vérité est à Allah; et que ce qu'ils avaient inventé les a abandonnés

And We will extract from every nation a witness and say, "Produce your proof," and they will know that the truth belongs to Allah, and lost from them is that which they used to invent

۞ إِنَّ قَارُونَ كَانَ مِن قَوْمِ مُوس۪ىٰ فَبَغ۪ىٰ عَلَيْهِمْۖ وَءَاتَيْنَٰهُ مِنَ اَ۬لْكُنُوزِ مَآ إِنَّ مَفَاتِحَهُۥ لَتَنُوٓأُ بِالْعُصْبَةِ أُوْلِے اِ۬لْقُوَّةِۖ إِذْ قَالَ لَهُۥ قَوْمُهُۥ لَا تَفْرَحِ اِنَّ اَ۬للَّهَ لَا يُحِبُّ اُ۬لْفَرِحِينَۖ ﱋ

Inna qârûna kâna min qawmi mûsê fabaghê ‘alayhim wa'âtaynâhu mina lkunûzi mâ inna mafâtihahû latanû'u bil‘usbati ulî lquwwati idh qâla lahû qawmuhû lâ tafrahi nna llâha lâ yuhibbu lfarihîn

En vérité, Coré [Karoûn] était du peuple de Moïse mais il était empli de violence envers eux. Nous lui avions donné des trésors dont les clefs pesaient lourd à toute une bande de gens forts. Son peuple lui dit: «Ne te réjouis point. Car Allah n'aime pas les arrogants

Indeed, Qarun was from the people of Moses, but he tyrannized them. And We gave him of treasures whose keys would burden a band of strong men; thereupon his people said to him, "Do not exult. Indeed, Allah does not like the exultant

وَابْتَغِ فِيمَآ ءَات۪يٰكَ اَ۬للَّهُ اُ۬لدَّارَ اَ۬لَاخِرَةَۖ وَلَا تَنسَ نَصِيبَكَ مِنَ اَ۬لدُّنْي۪اۖ وَأَحْسِن كَمَآ أَحْسَنَ اَ۬للَّهُ إِلَيْكَۖ وَلَا تَبْغِ اِ۬لْفَسَادَ فِے اِ۬لَارْضِۖ إِنَّ اَ۬للَّهَ لَا يُحِبُّ اُ۬لْمُفْسِدِينَۖ ﱌ

Wabtaghi fîmâ âtêka llâhu ddâra lakhirata walâ tansa nasîbaka mina ddunyê wa'ahsin kamâ ahsana llâhu ilayka walâ tabghi lfasâda fî lardi inna llâha lâ yuhibbu lmufsidîn

Et recherche à travers ce qu'Allah t'a donné, la Demeure dernière. Et n'oublie pas ta part en cette vie. Et sois bienfaisant comme Allah a été bienfaisant envers toi. Et ne recherche pas la corruption sur terre. Car Allah n'aime point les corrupteurs»

But seek, through that which Allah has given you, the home of the Hereafter; and [yet], do not forget your share of the world. And do good as Allah has done good to you. And desire not corruption in the land. Indeed, Allah does not like corrupters

قَالَ إِنَّمَآ أُوتِيتُهُۥ عَلَىٰ عِلْمٍ عِندِيَۖ أَوَلَمْ يَعْلَمَ اَنَّ اَ۬للَّهَ قَدَ اَهْلَكَ مِن قَبْلِهِۦ مِنَ اَ۬لْقُرُونِ مَنْ هُوَ أَشَدُّ مِنْهُ قُوَّةٗ وَأَكْثَرُ جَمْعاٗۖ وَلَا يُسْـَٔلُ عَن ذُنُوبِهِمُ اُ۬لْمُجْرِمُونَۖ ﱍ

Qâla innamâ ûtîtuhû ‘alâ ‘ilmin ‘indiya awalam ya‘lama nna llâha qada hlaka min qablihî mina lqurûni man huwa ashaddu minhu quwwatan wa'aktharu jam‘an walâ yus'alu ‘an dhunûbihimu lmujrimûn

Il dit: «C'est par une science que je possède que ceci m'est venu». Ne savait-il pas qu'avant lui Allah avait fait périr des générations supérieures à lui en force et plus riches en biens? Et les criminels ne seront pas interrogés sur leurs péchés»

He said, "I was only given it because of knowledge I have." Did he not know that Allah had destroyed before him of generations those who were greater than him in power and greater in accumulation [of wealth]? But the criminals, about their sins, will not be asked

فَخَرَجَ عَلَىٰ قَوْمِهِۦ فِے زِينَتِهِۦۖ قَالَ اَ۬لذِينَ يُرِيدُونَ اَ۬لْحَيَوٰةَ اَ۬لدُّنْي۪ا يَٰلَيْتَ لَنَا مِثْلَ مَآ أُوتِيَ قَارُونُ إِنَّهُۥ لَذُو حَظٍّ عَظِيمٖۖ ﱎ

Fakharaja ‘alâ qawmihî fî zînatihî qâla lladhîna yurîdûna lhayawâta ddunyê yâlayta lanâ mithla mâ ûtiya qârûnu innahû ladhû hazzin ‘azîm

Il sortit à son peuple dans tout son apparat. Ceux qui aimaient la vie présente dirent: «Si seulement nous avions comme ce qui a été donné à Coré. Il a été doté, certes, d'une immense fortune»

So he came out before his people in his adornment. Those who desired the worldly life said, "Oh, would that we had like what was given to Qarun. Indeed, he is one of great fortune

وَقَالَ اَ۬لذِينَ أُوتُواْ اُ۬لْعِلْمَ وَيْلَكُمْ ثَوَابُ اُ۬للَّهِ خَيْرٞ لِّمَنَ اٰمَنَ وَعَمِلَ صَٰلِحاٗۖ وَلَا يُلَقّ۪يٰهَآ إِلَّا اَ۬لصَّٰبِرُونَۖ ﱏ

Waqâla lladhîna ûtû l‘ilma waylakum thawâbu llâhi khayrul limana âmana wa‘amila sâlihan walâ yulaqqêhâ illâ ssâbirûn

Tandis que ceux auxquels le savoir a été donné dirent: «Malheur à vous! La récompense d'Allah est meilleure pour celui qui croit et fait le bien». Mais elle ne sera reçue que par ceux qui endurent

But those who had been given knowledge said, "Woe to you! The reward of Allah is better for he who believes and does righteousness. And none are granted it except the patient

فَخَسَفْنَا بِهِۦ وَبِد۪ارِهِ اِ۬لَارْضَۖ فَمَا كَانَ لَهُۥ مِن فِئَةٖ يَنصُرُونَهُۥ مِن دُونِ اِ۬للَّهِۖ وَمَا كَانَ مِنَ اَ۬لْمُنتَصِرِينَۖ ﱐ

Fakhasafnâ bihî wabidêrihi larda famâ kâna lahû min fî'atin yansurûnahû min dûni llâhi wamâ kâna mina lmuntasirîn

Nous fîmes donc que la terre l'engloutît, lui et sa maison. Aucun clan en dehors d'Allah ne fut là pour le secourir, et il ne pût se secourir lui-même

And We caused the earth to swallow him and his home. And there was for him no company to aid him other than Allah, nor was he of those who [could] defend themselves

وَأَصْبَحَ اَ۬لذِينَ تَمَنَّوْاْ مَكَانَهُۥ بِالَامْسِ يَقُولُونَ وَيْكَأَنَّ اَ۬للَّهَ يَبْسُطُ اُ۬لرِّزْقَ لِمَنْ يَّشَآءُ مِنْ عِبَادِهِۦ وَيَقْدِرُۖ لَوْلَآ أَن مَّنَّ اَ۬للَّهُ عَلَيْنَا لَخُسِفَ بِنَاۖ وَيْكَأَنَّهُۥ لَا يُفْلِحُ اُ۬لْكَٰفِرُونَۖ ﱑ

Wa'asbaha lladhîna tamannaw makânahû bilamsi yaqûlûna wayka'anna llâha yabsutu rrizqa limay yashâ'u min ‘ibâdihî wayaqdiru lawlâ am manna llâhu ‘alaynâ lakhusifa binâ wayka'annahû lâ yuflihu lkâfirûn

Et ceux qui, la veille, souhaitaient d'être à sa place, se mirent à dire: «Ah! Il est vrai qu'Allah augmente la part de qui Il veut, parmi Ses serviteurs, ou la restreint. Si Allah ne nous avait pas favorisés, Il nous aurait certainement fait engloutir. Ah! Il est vrai que ceux qui ne croient pas ne réussissent pas»

And those who had wished for his position the previous day began to say, "Oh, how Allah extends provision to whom He wills of His servants and restricts it! If not that Allah had conferred favor on us, He would have caused it to swallow us. Oh, how the disbelievers do not succeed

۞ تِلْكَ اَ۬لدَّارُ اُ۬لَاخِرَةُ نَجْعَلُهَا لِلذِينَ لَا يُرِيدُونَ عُلُوّاٗ فِے اِ۬لَارْضِ وَلَا فَسَاداٗۖ وَالْعَٰقِبَةُ لِلْمُتَّقِينَۖ ﱒ

Tilka ddâru lakhiratu naj‘aluhâ lilladhîna lâ yurîdûna ‘uluwwan fî lardi walâ fasâdan wal‘âqibatu lilmuttaqîn

Cette Demeure dernière, Nous la réservons à ceux qui ne recherchent, ni à s'élever sur terre, ni à y semer la corruption. Cependant, l'heureuse fin appartient aux pieux

That home of the Hereafter We assign to those who do not desire exaltedness upon the earth or corruption. And the [best] outcome is for the righteous

مَن جَآءَ بِالْحَسَنَةِ فَلَهُۥ خَيْرٞ مِّنْهَاۖ وَمَن جَآءَ بِالسَّيِّئَةِ فَلَا يُجْزَى اَ۬لذِينَ عَمِلُواْ اُ۬لسَّيِّـَٔاتِ إِلَّا مَا كَانُواْ يَعْمَلُونَۖ ﱓ

Man jâ'a bilhasanati falahû khayrum minhâ waman jâ'a bissayyî'ati falâ yujzâ lladhîna ‘amilû ssayyi'âti illâ mâ kânû ya‘malûn

Quiconque viendra avec le bien, aura meilleur que cela encore; et quiconque viendra avec le mal, (qu'il sache que) ceux qui commettront des méfaits ne seront rétribués que selon ce qu'ils ont commis

Whoever comes [on the Day of Judgement] with a good deed will have better than it; and whoever comes with an evil deed - then those who did evil deeds will not be recompensed except [as much as] what they used to do

إِنَّ اَ۬لذِے فَرَضَ عَلَيْكَ اَ۬لْقُرْءَانَ لَرَآدُّكَ إِلَىٰ مَعَادٖۖ قُل رَّبِّيَ أَعْلَمُ مَن جَآءَ بِالْهُد۪ىٰ وَمَنْ هُوَ فِے ضَلَٰلٖ مُّبِينٖۖ ﱔ

Inna lladhî farada ‘alayka lqur'âna larâdduka ilâ ma‘âdin qul rabbiya a‘lamu man jâ'a bilhudê waman huwa fî dalâlim mubîn

Celui qui t'a prescrit le Coran te ramènera certainement là où tu (souhaites) retourner. Dis: «Mon Seigneur connaît mieux celui qui a apporté la guidée et celui qui est dans un égarement évident

Indeed, [O Muhammad], He who imposed upon you the Qur'an will take you back to a place of return. Say, "My Lord is most knowing of who brings guidance and who is in clear error

وَمَا كُنتَ تَرْجُوٓاْ أَنْ يُّلْق۪ىٰٓ إِلَيْكَ اَ۬لْكِتَٰبُ إِلَّا رَحْمَةٗ مِّن رَّبِّكَۖ فَلَا تَكُونَنَّ ظَهِيراٗ لِّلْكٰ۪فِرِينَۖ ﱕ

Wamâ kunta tarjû ay yulqê ilayka lkitâbu illâ rahmatam mir rabbika falâ takûnanna zahîral lilkêfirîn

Tu n'espérais nullement que le Livre te serait révélé. Ceci n'a été que par une miséricorde de ton Seigneur. Ne sois donc jamais un soutien pour les infidèles

And you were not expecting that the Book would be conveyed to you, but [it is] a mercy from your Lord. So do not be an assistant to the disbelievers

وَلَا يَصُدُّنَّكَ عَنَ اٰيَٰتِ اِ۬للَّهِ بَعْدَ إِذُ ا۟نزِلَتِ اِلَيْكَۖ وَادْعُ إِلَىٰ رَبِّكَۖ وَلَا تَكُونَنَّ مِنَ اَ۬لْمُشْرِكِينَۖ ﱖ

Walâ yasuddunnaka ‘ana âyâti llâhi ba‘da idhu unzilati layka wad‘u ilâ rabbika walâ takûnanna mina lmushrikîn

et que ceux-ci ne te détournent point des versets d'Allah une fois qu'on les a fait descendre vers toi. Appelle les gens vers ton Seigneur et ne sois point du nombre des Associateurs

And never let them avert you from the verses of Allah after they have been revealed to you. And invite [people] to your Lord. And never be of those who associate others with Allah

وَلَا تَدْعُ مَعَ اَ۬للَّهِ إِلَٰهاً اٰخَرَۖ لَآ إِلَٰهَ إِلَّا هُوَۖ كُلُّ شَےْءٍ هَالِكٌ اِلَّا وَجْهَهُۥۖ لَهُ اُ۬لْحُكْمُۖ وَإِلَيْهِ تُرْجَعُونَۖ ﱗ

Walâ tad‘u ma‘a llâhi ilâhan âkhara lâ ilâha illâ huwa kullu shay'in hâlikuni llâ wajhahû lahu lhukmu wa'ilayhi turja‘ûn

Et n'invoque nulle autre divinité avec Allah. Point de divinité à part Lui. Tout doit périr, sauf Son Visage. A Lui appartient le jugement; et vers Lui vous serez ramenés

And do not invoke with Allah another deity. There is no deity except Him. Everything will be destroyed except His Face. His is the judgement, and to Him you will be returned
