سُورَةُ الفَجر

89. Al-Fajr · Muhammad Hamidullah · Saheeh International

32 verses

بِسْمِ اِ۬للَّهِ اِ۬لرَّحْمَٰنِ اِ۬لرَّحِيمِ Au nom d'Allah, le Tout Miséricordieux, le Très Miséricordieux. In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful.

1

وَالْفَجْرِ ﰀ

Walfajr

Par l'Aube

By the dawn

2

وَلَيَالٍ عَشْرٖ ﰁ

Walayâlin ‘ashr

Et par les dix nuits

And [by] ten nights

3

وَالشَّفْعِ وَالْوَتْرِ ﰂ

Washshaf‘i walwatr

Par le pair et l'impair

And [by] the even [number] and the odd

4

وَاليْلِ إِذَا يَسْرِۦ ﰃ

Wallayli idhâ yasrî

Et par la nuit quand elle s'écoule

And [by] the night when it passes

5

هَلْ فِے ذَٰلِكَ قَسَمٞ لِّذِے حِجْرٍۖ ﰄ

Hal fî dhâlika qasamul lidhî hijr

N'est-ce pas là un serment, pour un doué d'intelligence

Is there [not] in [all] that an oath [sufficient] for one of perception

6

اَلَمْ تَرَ كَيْفَ فَعَلَ رَبُّكَ بِعَادٍ ﰅ

Alam tara kayfa fa‘ala rabbuka bi‘âd

N'as-tu pas vu comment ton Seigneur a agi avec les 'Aad

Have you not considered how your Lord dealt with 'Aad

7

اِرَمَ ذَاتِ اِ۬لْعِمَادِ ﰆ

Irama dhâti l‘imâd

[avec] Iram, [la cité] à la colonne remarquable

[With] Iram - who had lofty pillars

8

اِ۬لتِے لَمْ يُخْلَقْ مِثْلُهَا فِے اِ۬لْبِلَٰدِ ﰇ

Allatî lam yukhlaq mithluhâ fî lbilâd

dont jamais pareille ne fut construite parmi les villes

The likes of whom had never been created in the land

9

وَثَمُودَ اَ۬لذِينَ جَابُواْ اُ۬لصَّخْرَ بِالْوَادِۦ ﰈ

Wathamûda lladhîna jâbû ssakhra bilwâdî

et avec les Thamûd qui taillaient le rocher dans la vallée

And [with] Thamud, who carved out the rocks in the valley

10

وَفِرْعَوْنَ ذِے اِ۬لَاوْتَادِ ﰉ

Wafir‘awna dhî lawtâd

ainsi qu'avec Pharaon, l'homme aux épieux

And [with] Pharaoh, owner of the stakes

11

اِ۬لذِينَ طَغَوْاْ فِے اِ۬لْبِلَٰدِ ﰊ

Alladhîna taghaw fî lbilâd

Tous, étaient des gens qui transgressaient dans [leurs] pays

[All of] whom oppressed within the lands

12

فَأَكْثَرُواْ فِيهَا اَ۬لْفَسَادَ ﰋ

Fa'aktharû fîhâ lfasâd

et y avaient commis beaucoup de désordre

And increased therein the corruption

13

فَصَبَّ عَلَيْهِمْ رَبُّكَ سَوْطَ عَذَابٍۖ ﰌ

Fasabba ‘alayhim rabbuka sawta ‘adhâb

Donc, ton Seigneur déversa sur eux un fouet du châtiment

So your Lord poured upon them a scourge of punishment

14

اِنَّ رَبَّكَ لَبِالْمِرْصَادِۖ ﰍ

Inna rabbaka labiâlmirsâd

Car ton Seigneur demeure aux aguets

Indeed, your Lord is in observation

15

فَأَمَّا اَ۬لِانسَٰنُ إِذَا مَا اَ۪بْتَل۪يٰهُ رَبُّهُۥ فَأَكْرَمَهُۥ وَنَعَّمَهُۥ ﰎ

Fa'ammâ linsânu idhâ mâ btalêhu rabbuhû fa'akramahû wana‘‘amahû

Quant à l'homme, lorsque son Seigneur l'éprouve en l'honorant et en le comblant de bienfaits, il dit: «Mon Seigneur m'a honoré»

And as for man, when his Lord tries him and [thus] is generous to him and favors him, he says, "My Lord has honored me

16

فَيَقُولُ رَبِّيَ أَكْرَمَنِۦۖ ﰏ

Fayaqûlu rabbiya akramanî

17

وَأَمَّآ إِذَا مَا اَ۪بْتَل۪يٰهُ فَقَدَرَ عَلَيْهِ رِزْقَهُۥ ﰐ

Wa'ammâ idhâ mâ btalêhu faqadara ‘alayhi rizqahû

Mais par contre, quand Il l'éprouve en lui restreignant sa subsistance, il dit: «Mon Seigneur m'a avili»

But when He tries him and restricts his provision, he says, "My Lord has humiliated me

18

فَيَقُولُ رَبِّيَ أَهَٰنَنِۦ ﰑ

Fayaqûlu rabbiya ahânanî

19

كَلَّاۖ بَل لَّا تُكْرِمُونَ اَ۬لْيَتِيمَ ﰒ

Kallâ bal lâ tukrimûna lyatîm

Mais non! C'est vous plutôt, qui n'êtes pas généreux envers les orphelins

No! But you do not honor the orphan

20

وَلَا تَحُضُّونَ عَلَىٰ طَعَامِ اِ۬لْمِسْكِينِ ﰓ

Walâ tahuddûna ‘alâ ta‘âmi lmiskîn

qui ne vous incitez pas mutuellement à nourrir le pauvre

And you do not encourage one another to feed the poor

21

وَتَاكُلُونَ اَ۬لتُّرَاثَ أَكْلاٗ لَّمّاٗ ﰔ

Watâkulûna tturâtha aklal lammâ

qui dévorez l'héritage avec une avidité vorace

And you consume inheritance, devouring [it] altogether

22

وَتُحِبُّونَ اَ۬لْمَالَ حُبّاٗ جَمّاٗ ﰕ

Watuhibbûna lmâla hubban jammâ

et aimez les richesses d'un amour sans bornes

And you love wealth with immense love

23

كَلَّآۖ إِذَا دُكَّتِ اِ۬لَارْضُ دَكّاٗ دَكّاٗ ﰖ

Kallâ idhâ dukkati lardu dakkan dakkâ

Prenez garde! Quand la terre sera complètement pulvérisée

No! When the earth has been leveled - pounded and crushed

24

وَجَآءَ رَبُّكَ وَالْمَلَكُ صَفّاٗ صَفّاٗ ﰗ

Wajâ'a rabbuka walmalaku saffan saffâ

et que ton Seigneur viendra ainsi que les Anges, rang par rang

And your Lord has come and the angels, rank upon rank

25

وَجِےٓءَ يَوْمَئِذِۢ بِجَهَنَّمَ ﰘ

Wajî'a yawma'idhim bijahannam

et que ce jour-là, on amènera l'Enfer; ce jour-là, l'homme se rappellera. Mais à quoi lui servira de se souvenir

And brought [within view], that Day, is Hell - that Day, man will remember, but what good to him will be the remembrance

26

يَوْمَئِذٖ يَتَذَكَّرُ اُ۬لِانسَٰنُ وَأَنّ۪ىٰ لَهُ اُ۬لذِّكْر۪ىٰۖ ﰙ

Yawma'idhin yatadhakkaru linsânu wa'annê lahu dhdhikrê

27

يَقُولُ يَٰلَيْتَنِے قَدَّمْتُ لِحَيَاتِےۖ ﰚ

Yaqûlu yâlaytanî qaddamtu lihayâtî

Il dira: «Hélas! Que n'ai-je fait du bien pour ma vie future

He will say, "Oh, I wish I had sent ahead [some good] for my life

28

فَيَوْمَئِذٖ لَّا يُعَذِّبُ عَذَابَهُۥٓ أَحَدٞ ﰛ

Fayawma'idhil lâ yu‘adhdhibu ‘adhâbahû ahad

Ce jour-là donc, nul ne saura châtier comme Lui châtie

So on that Day, none will punish [as severely] as His punishment

29

وَلَا يُوثِقُ وَثَاقَهُۥٓ أَحَدٞۖ ﰜ

Walâ yûthiqu wathâqahû ahad

et nul ne saura garrotter comme Lui garrotte

And none will bind [as severely] as His binding [of the evildoers]

30

يَٰٓأَيَّتُهَا اَ۬لنَّفْسُ اُ۬لْمُطْمَئِنَّةُ ﰝ

Yâ'ayyatuhâ nnafsu lmutma'innah

«O toi, âme apaisée

[To the righteous it will be said], "O reassured soul

31

اُ۪رْجِعِےٓ إِلَىٰ رَبِّكِ رَاضِيَةٗ مَّرْضِيَّةٗ ﰞ

Urji‘î ilâ rabbiki râdiyatam mardiyyaah

retourne vers ton Seigneur, satisfaite et agréée

Return to your Lord, well-pleased and pleasing [to Him]

32

فَادْخُلِے فِے عِبَٰدِے وَادْخُلِے جَنَّتِےۖ ﰟ

Fadkhulî fî ‘ibâdî wadkhulî jannatî

entre donc parmi Mes serviteurs et entre dans Mon Paradis»

And enter among My [righteous] servants And enter My Paradise
