طَسِٓمِّٓۖ تِلْكَ ءَايَٰتُ اُ۬لْكِتَٰبِ اِ۬لْمُبِينِۖ ﰀ

Tâ sîn mîm tilka âyâtu lkitâbi lmubîn

T'â, Sîn, Mim Voici les versets du Livre explicite

Ta, Seen, Meem These are the verses of the clear Book

لَعَلَّكَ بَٰخِعٞ نَّفْسَكَ أَلَّا يَكُونُواْ مُومِنِينَۖ ﰁ

La‘allaka bâkhi‘un nafsaka allâ yakûnû mûminîn

Il se peut que tu te consumes de chagrin parce qu'ils ne sont pas croyants

Perhaps, [O Muhammad], you would kill yourself with grief that they will not be believers

إِن نَّشَأْ نُنَزِّلْ عَلَيْهِم مِّنَ اَ۬لسَّمَآءِ اَ۟يَةٗ فَظَلَّتَ اَعْنَٰقُهُمْ لَهَا خَٰضِعِينَۖ ﰂ

In nasha' nunazzil ‘alayhim mina ssamâ'i yatan fazallata ‘nâquhum lahâ khâdi‘în

Si Nous voulions, Nous ferions descendre du ciel sur eux un prodige devant lequel leurs nuques resteront courbées

If We willed, We could send down to them from the sky a sign for which their necks would remain humbled

وَمَا يَاتِيهِم مِّن ذِكْرٖ مِّنَ اَ۬لرَّحْمَٰنِ مُحْدَثٍ اِلَّا كَانُواْ عَنْهُ مُعْرِضِينَۖ ﰃ

Wamâ yâtîhim min dhikrim mina rrahmâni muhdathini llâ kânû ‘anhu mu‘ridîn

Aucun nouveau rappel ne leur vient du Tout Miséricordieux sans qu'ils ne l'esquivent

And no revelation comes to them anew from the Most Merciful except that they turn away from it

فَقَدْ كَذَّبُواْ فَسَيَاتِيهِمُۥٓ أَنۢبَٰٓؤُاْ مَا كَانُواْ بِهِۦ يَسْتَهْزِءُونَۖ ﰄ

Faqad kadhdhabû fasayâtîhimû ambâ'u mâ kânû bihî yastahzi'ûn

Et ils ont traité de mensonge [tout ce qui leur vient du Seigneur]. Il leur viendra bientôt des nouvelles de ce dont ils se raillent

For they have already denied, but there will come to them the news of that which they used to ridicule

أَوَلَمْ يَرَوِاْ اِلَى اَ۬لَارْضِ كَمَ اَنۢبَتْنَا فِيهَا مِن كُلِّ زَوْجٖ كَرِيمٍۖ ﰅ

Awalam yarawi lâ lardi kama mbatnâ fîhâ min kulli zawjin karîm

N'ont-ils pas observé la terre, combien Nous y avons fait pousser de couples généreux de toutes sortes

Did they not look at the earth - how much We have produced therein from every noble kind

اِنَّ فِے ذَٰلِكَ لَأٓيَةٗۖ وَمَا كَانَ أَكْثَرُهُم مُّومِنِينَۖ ﰆ

Inna fî dhâlika la'yatan wamâ kâna aktharuhum mûminîn

Voilà bien là une preuve! Et la plupart d'entre eux ne croient pas

Indeed in that is a sign, but most of them were not to be believers

وَإِنَّ رَبَّكَ لَهُوَ اَ۬لْعَزِيزُ اُ۬لرَّحِيمُۖ ﰇ

Wa'inna rabbaka lahuwa l‘azîzu rrahîm

Et ton Seigneur est en vérité Lui le Tout Puissant, le Très Miséricordieux

And indeed, your Lord - He is the Exalted in Might, the Merciful

وَإِذْ نَاد۪ىٰ رَبُّكَ مُوس۪ىٰٓ أَنِ اِ۪يتِ اِ۬لْقَوْمَ اَ۬لظَّٰلِمِينَ ﰈ

Wa'idh nâdê rabbuka mûsê ani yti lqawma zzâlimîn

Et lorsque ton Seigneur appela Moïse: «Rends-toi auprès du peuple injuste

And [mention] when your Lord called Moses, [saying], "Go to the wrongdoing people

قَوْمَ فِرْعَوْنَۖ أَلَا يَتَّقُونَۖ ﰉ

Qawma fir‘awna alâ yattaqûn

[auprès du] peuple de Pharaon» ne craindront-ils pas (Allah)

The people of Pharaoh. Will they not fear Allah

قَالَ رَبِّ إِنِّيَ أَخَافُ أَنْ يُّكَذِّبُونِ ﰊ

Qâla rabbi inniya akhâfu ay yukadhdhibûn

Il dit: «Seigneur, je crains qu'ils ne me traitent de menteur

He said, "My Lord, indeed I fear that they will deny me

وَيَضِيقُ صَدْرِے وَلَا يَنطَلِقُ لِسَانِے فَأَرْسِلِ اِلَىٰ هَٰرُونَ ﰋ

Wayadîqu sadrî walâ yantaliqu lisânî fa'arsili lâ hârûn

que ma poitrine ne se serre, et que ma langue ne soit embarrassée: Mande donc Aaron

And that my breast will tighten and my tongue will not be fluent, so send for Aaron

وَلَهُمْ عَلَيَّ ذَنۢبٞ فَأَخَافُ أَنْ يَّقْتُلُونِۖ ﰌ

Walahum ‘alayya dhambun fa'akhâfu ay yaqtulûn

Ils ont un crime à me reprocher; je crains donc qu'ils ne me tuent»

And they have upon me a [claim due to] sin, so I fear that they will kill me

قَالَ كَلَّاۖ فَاذْهَبَا بِـَٔايَٰتِنَآ إِنَّا مَعَكُم مُّسْتَمِعُونَۖ ﰍ

Qâla kallâ fadhhabâ bi'âyâtinâ innâ ma‘akum mustami‘ûn

Mais [Allah lui] dit: «Jamais! Allez tous deux avec Nos prodiges, Nous resterons avec vous et Nous écouterons

[Allah] said, "No. Go both of you with Our signs; indeed, We are with you, listening

فَاتِيَا فِرْعَوْنَ فَقُولَآ إِنَّا رَسُولُ رَبِّ اِ۬لْعَٰلَمِينَ ﰎ

Fâtiyâ fir‘awna faqûlâ innâ rasûlu rabbi l‘âlamîn

Rendez-vous donc tous deux auprès de Pharaon, puis dites: «Nous sommes les messagers du Seigneur de l'univers

Go to Pharaoh and say, 'We are the messengers of the Lord of the worlds

أَنَ اَرْسِلْ مَعَنَا بَنِےٓ إِسْرَآءِيلَۖ ﰏ

Ana rsil ma‘anâ banî isrâ'îl

pour que tu renvoies les Enfants d'Israël avec nous»

[Commanded to say], "Send with us the Children of Israel

قَالَ أَلَمْ نُرَبِّكَ فِينَا وَلِيداٗ وَلَبِثْتَ فِينَا مِنْ عُمُرِكَ سِنِينَ ﰐ

Qâla alam nurabbika fînâ walîdan walabithta fînâ min ‘umurika sinîn

«Ne t'avons-nous pas, dit Pharaon, élevé chez nous tout enfant? Et n'as-tu pas demeuré parmi nous des années de ta vie

[Pharaoh] said, "Did we not raise you among us as a child, and you remained among us for years of your life

وَفَعَلْتَ فَعْلَتَكَ اَ۬لتِے فَعَلْتَ وَأَنتَ مِنَ اَ۬لْكٰ۪فِرِينَۖ ﰑ

Wafa‘alta fa‘lataka llatî fa‘alta wa'anta mina lkêfirîn

Puis tu as commis le méfait que tu as fait, en dépit de toute reconnaissance»

And [then] you did your deed which you did, and you were of the ungrateful

قَالَ فَعَلْتُهَآ إِذاٗ وَأَنَا مِنَ اَ۬لضَّآلِّينَۖ ﰒ

Qâla fa‘altuhâ idhan wa'anâ mina ddâllîn

«Je l'ai fait, dit Moïse, alors que j'étais encore du nombre des égarés

[Moses] said, "I did it, then, while I was of those astray

فَفَرَرْتُ مِنكُمْ لَمَّا خِفْتُكُمْ فَوَهَبَ لِے رَبِّے حُكْماٗ وَجَعَلَنِے مِنَ اَ۬لْمُرْسَلِينَۖ ﰓ

Fafarartu minkum lammâ khiftukum fawahaba lî rabbî hukman waja‘alanî mina lmursalîn

Je me suis donc enfui de vous quand j'ai eu peur de vous: puis, mon Seigneur m'a donné la sagesse et m'a désigné parmi Ses messagers

So I fled from you when I feared you. Then my Lord granted me wisdom and prophethood and appointed me [as one] of the messengers

وَتِلْكَ نِعْمَةٞ تَمُنُّهَا عَلَيَّ أَنْ عَبَّدتَّ بَنِےٓ إِسْرَآءِيلَۖ ﰔ

Watilka ni‘matun tamunnuhâ ‘alayya an ‘abbadtta banî isrâ'îl

Est-ce là un bienfait de ta part [que tu me rappelles] avec reproche, alors que tu as asservi les Enfants d'Israël?»

And is this a favor of which you remind me - that you have enslaved the Children of Israel

قَالَ فِرْعَوْنُ وَمَا رَبُّ اُ۬لْعَٰلَمِينَۖ ﰕ

Qâla fir‘awnu wamâ rabbu l‘âlamîn

«Et qu'est-ce que le Seigneur de l'univers?» dit Pharaon

Said Pharaoh, "And what is the Lord of the worlds

قَالَ رَبُّ اُ۬لسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَالَارْضِ وَمَا بَيْنَهُمَآ إِن كُنتُم مُّوقِنِينَۖ ﰖ

Qâla rabbu ssamâwâti walardi wamâ baynahumâ in kuntum mûqinîn

«Le Seigneur des cieux et de la terre et de ce qui existe entre eux, dit [Moïse], si seulement vous pouviez en être convaincus!»

[Moses] said, "The Lord of the heavens and earth and that between them, if you should be convinced

۞ قَالَ لِمَنْ حَوْلَهُۥٓ أَلَا تَسْتَمِعُونَۖ ﰗ

Qâla liman hawlahû alâ tastami‘ûn

[Pharaon] dit à ceux qui l'entouraient: «N'entendez-vous pas

[Pharaoh] said to those around him, "Do you not hear

قَالَ رَبُّكُمْ وَرَبُّ ءَابَآئِكُمُ اُ۬لَاوَّلِينَۖ ﰘ

Qâla rabbukum warabbu âbâ'ikumu lawwalîn

[Moïse] continue: «... Votre Seigneur, et le Seigneur de vos plus anciens ancêtres»

[Moses] said, "Your Lord and the Lord of your first forefathers

قَالَ إِنَّ رَسُولَكُمُ اُ۬لذِےٓ أُرْسِلَ إِلَيْكُمْ لَمَجْنُونٞۖ ﰙ

Qâla inna rasûlakumu lladhî ursila ilaykum lamajnûn

«Vraiment, dit [Pharaon], votre messager qui vous a été envoyé, est un fou»

[Pharaoh] said, "Indeed, your 'messenger' who has been sent to you is mad

قَالَ رَبُّ اُ۬لْمَشْرِقِ وَالْمَغْرِبِ وَمَا بَيْنَهُمَآ إِن كُنتُمْ تَعْقِلُونَۖ ﰚ

Qâla rabbu lmashriqi walmaghribi wamâ baynahumâ in kuntum ta‘qilûn

[Moïse] ajouta: «... Le Seigneur du Levant et du Couchant et de ce qui est entre les deux; si seulement vous compreniez!»

[Moses] said, "Lord of the east and the west and that between them, if you were to reason

قَالَ لَئِنِ اِ۪تَّخَذتَّ إِلَٰهاً غَيْرِے لَأَجْعَلَنَّكَ مِنَ اَ۬لْمَسْجُونِينَۖ ﰛ

Qâla la'ini ttakhadhtta ilâhan ghayrî la'aj‘alannaka mina lmasjûnîn

«Si tu adoptes, dit [Pharaon], une autre divinité que moi, je te mettrai parmi les prisonniers»

[Pharaoh] said, "If you take a god other than me, I will surely place you among those imprisoned

قَالَ أَوَلَوْ جِئْتُكَ بِشَےْءٖ مُّبِينٖۖ ﰜ

Qâla awalaw jî'tuka bishay'im mubîn

«Et même si je t'apportais, dit [Moïse], une chose (une preuve) évidente

[Moses] said, "Even if I brought you proof manifest

قَالَ فَاتِ بِهِۦٓ إِن كُنتَ مِنَ اَ۬لصَّٰدِقِينَۖ ﰝ

Qâla fâti bihî in kunta mina ssâdiqîn

«Apporte-la, dit [Pharaon], si tu es du nombre des véridiques»

[Pharaoh] said, "Then bring it, if you should be of the truthful

فَأَلْق۪ىٰ عَصَاهُ فَإِذَا هِيَ ثُعْبَانٞ مُّبِينٞ ﰞ

Fa'alqê ‘asâhu fa'idhâ hiya thu‘bânum mubîn

[Moïse] jeta donc son bâton et le voilà devenu un serpent manifeste

So [Moses] threw his staff, and suddenly it was a serpent manifest

وَنَزَعَ يَدَهُۥ فَإِذَا هِيَ بَيْضَآءُ لِلنَّٰظِرِينَۖ ﰟ

Wanaza‘a yadahû fa'idhâ hiya baydâ'u linnâzirîn

Et il tira sa main et voilà qu'elle était blanche (étincelante) à ceux qui regardaient

And he drew out his hand; thereupon it was white for the observers

قَالَ لِلْمَلَإِ حَوْلَهُۥٓ إِنَّ هَٰذَا لَسَٰحِرٌ عَلِيمٞ ﰠ

Qâla lilmala'i hawlahû inna hâdhâ lasâhirun ‘alîm

[Pharaon] dit aux notables autour de lui: «Voilà en vérité un magicien savant

[Pharaoh] said to the eminent ones around him, "Indeed, this is a learned magician

يُرِيدُ أَنْ يُّخْرِجَكُم مِّنَ اَرْضِكُم بِسِحْرِهِۦ فَمَاذَا تَامُرُونَۖ ﰡ

Yurîdu ay yukhrijakum mina rdikum bisihrihî famâdhâ tâmurûn

Il veut par sa magie vous expulser de votre terre. Que commandez-vous?»

He wants to drive you out of your land by his magic, so what do you advise

قَالُوٓاْ أَرْجِهِۦ وَأَخَاهُ وَابْعَثْ فِے اِ۬لْمَدَآئِنِ حَٰشِرِينَ ﰢ

Qâlû arjihî wa'akhâhu wab‘ath fî lmadâ'ini hâshirîn

Ils dirent: «Remets-les à plus tard, [lui] et son frère, et envoie des gens dans les villes, pour rassembler

They said, "Postpone [the matter of] him and his brother and send among the cities gatherers

يَاتُوكَ بِكُلِّ سَحّ۪ارٍ عَلِيمٖۖ ﰣ

Yâtûka bikulli sahhêrin ‘alîm

et t'amener tout grand magicien savant»

Who will bring you every learned, skilled magician

فَجُمِعَ اَ۬لسَّحَرَةُ لِمِيقَٰتِ يَوْمٖ مَّعْلُومٖۖ ﰤ

Fajumi‘a ssaharatu limîqâti yawmim ma‘lûm

Les magiciens furent donc réunis en rendez-vous au jour convenu

So the magicians were assembled for the appointment of a well-known day

وَقِيلَ لِلنَّاسِ هَلَ اَنتُم مُّجْتَمِعُونَ ﰥ

Waqîla linnâsi hala ntum mujtami‘ûn

Et il fut dit aux gens: «Est-ce que vous allez vous réunir

And it was said to the people, "Will you congregate

لَعَلَّنَا نَتَّبِعُ اُ۬لسَّحَرَةَ إِن كَانُواْ هُمُ اُ۬لْغَٰلِبِينَۖ ﰦ

La‘allanâ nattabi‘u ssaharata in kânû humu lghâlibîn

afin que nous suivions les magiciens, si ce sont eux les vainqueurs?»

That we might follow the magicians if they are the predominant

فَلَمَّا جَآءَ اَ۬لسَّحَرَةُ قَالُواْ لِفِرْعَوْنَ أَئِنَّ لَنَا لَأَجْراً اِن كُنَّا نَحْنُ اُ۬لْغَٰلِبِينَۖ ﰧ

Falammâ jâ'a ssaharatu qâlû lifir‘awna a'inna lanâ la'ajrani n kunnâ nahnu lghâlibîn

Puis, lorsque les magiciens arrivèrent, ils dirent à Pharaon: «Y aura-t-il vraiment une récompense pour nous, si nous sommes les vainqueurs?»

And when the magicians arrived, they said to Pharaoh, "Is there indeed for us a reward if we are the predominant

قَالَ نَعَمْ وَإِنَّكُمُۥٓ إِذاٗ لَّمِنَ اَ۬لْمُقَرَّبِينَۖ ﰨ

Qâla na‘am wa'innakumû idhal lamina lmuqarrabîn

Il dit: «Oui, bien sûr, vous serez alors parmi mes proches!»

He said, "Yes, and indeed, you will then be of those near [to me]

قَالَ لَهُم مُّوس۪ىٰٓ أَلْقُواْ مَآ أَنتُم مُّلْقُونَۖ ﰩ

Qâla lahum mûsê alqû mâ antum mulqûn

Moïse leur dit: «Jetez ce que vous avez à jeter»

Moses said to them, "Throw whatever you will throw

فَأَلْقَوْاْ حِبَالَهُمْ وَعِصِيَّهُمْ وَقَالُواْ بِعِزَّةِ فِرْعَوْنَ إِنَّا لَنَحْنُ اُ۬لْغَٰلِبُونَۖ ﰪ

Fa'alqaw hibâlahum wa‘isiyyahum waqâlû bi‘izzati fir‘awna innâ lanahnu lghâlibûn

Ils jetèrent donc leurs cordes et leurs bâtons et dirent: «Par la puissance de Pharaon!... C'est nous qui serons les vainqueurs»

So they threw their ropes and their staffs and said, "By the might of Pharaoh, indeed it is we who are predominant

فَأَلْق۪ىٰ مُوس۪ىٰ عَصَاهُ فَإِذَا هِيَ تَلَقَّفُ مَا يَافِكُونَۖ ﰫ

Fa'alqê mûsê ‘asâhu fa'idhâ hiya talaqqafu mâ yâfikûn

Puis Moïse jeta son bâton, et voilà qu'il happait ce qu'ils avaient fabriqué

Then Moses threw his staff, and at once it devoured what they falsified

فَأُلْقِيَ اَ۬لسَّحَرَةُ سَٰجِدِينَۖ ﰬ

Fa'ulqiya ssaharatu sâjidîn

Alors les magiciens tombèrent prosternés

So the magicians fell down in prostration [to Allah]

قَالُوٓاْ ءَامَنَّا بِرَبِّ اِ۬لْعَٰلَمِينَۖ ﰭ

Qâlû âmannâ birabbi l‘âlamîn

disant: «Nous croyons au Seigneur de l'univers

They said, "We have believed in the Lord of the worlds

رَبِّ مُوس۪ىٰ وَهَٰرُونَۖ ﰮ

Rabbi mûsê wahârûn

Le Seigneur de Moïse et d'Aaron»

The Lord of Moses and Aaron

قَالَ ءَاٰ۬مَنتُمْ لَهُۥ قَبْلَ أَنَ اٰذَنَ لَكُمُۥٓ إِنَّهُۥ لَكَبِيرُكُمُ اُ۬لذِے عَلَّمَكُمُ اُ۬لسِّحْرَۖ فَلَسَوْفَ تَعْلَمُونَۖ ﰯ

Qâla âmantum lahû qabla ana âdhana lakumû innahû lakabîrukumu lladhî ‘allamakumu ssihra falasawfa ta‘lamûn

[Pharaon] dit: «Avez-vous cru en lui avant que je ne vous le permette? En vérité, c'est lui votre chef, qui vous a enseigné la magie! Eh bien, vous saurez bientôt! Je vous couperai, sûrement, mains et jambes opposées, et vous crucifierai tous»

[Pharaoh] said, "You believed Moses before I gave you permission. Indeed, he is your leader who has taught you magic, but you are going to know. I will surely cut off your hands and your feet on opposite sides, and I will surely crucify you all

لَأُقَطِّعَنَّ أَيْدِيَكُمْ وَأَرْجُلَكُم مِّنْ خِلَٰفٖ وَلَأُصَلِّبَنَّكُمُۥٓ أَجْمَعِينَۖ ﰰ

La'uqatti‘anna aydiyakum wa'arjulakum min khilâfin wala'usallibannakumû ajma‘în

۞ قَالُواْ لَا ضَيْرَۖ إِنَّآ إِلَىٰ رَبِّنَا مُنقَلِبُونَۖ ﰱ

Qâlû lâ dayra innâ ilâ rabbinâ munqalibûn

Ils disent: «Il n'y a pas de mal! Car c'est vers notre Seigneur que nous retournerons

They said, "No harm. Indeed, to our Lord we will return

إِنَّا نَطْمَعُ أَنْ يَّغْفِرَ لَنَا رَبُّنَا خَطَٰيٰ۪نَآ أَن كُنَّآ أَوَّلَ اَ۬لْمُومِنِينَۖ ﰲ

Innâ natma‘u ay yaghfira lanâ rabbunâ khatânâ an kunnâ awwala lmûminîn

Nous convoitons que notre Seigneur nous pardonne nos fautes pour avoir été les premiers à croire»

Indeed, we aspire that our Lord will forgive us our sins because we were the first of the believers

وَأَوْحَيْنَآ إِلَىٰ مُوس۪ىٰٓ أَنِ اِ۪سْرِ بِعِبَادِيَ إِنَّكُم مُّتَّبَعُونَۖ ﰳ

Wa'awhaynâ ilâ mûsê ani sri bi‘ibâdiya innakum muttaba‘ûn

Et Nous révélâmes à Moïse [ceci]: «Pars de nuit avec Mes serviteurs, car vous serez poursuivis»

And We inspired to Moses, "Travel by night with My servants; indeed, you will be pursued

فَأَرْسَلَ فِرْعَوْنُ فِے اِ۬لْمَدَآئِنِ حَٰشِرِينَۖ ﰴ

Fa'arsala fir‘awnu fî lmadâ'ini hâshirîn

Puis, Pharaon envoya des rassembleurs [dire] dans les villes

Then Pharaoh sent among the cities gatherers

إِنَّ هَٰٓؤُلَآءِ لَشِرْذِمَةٞ قَلِيلُونَ ﰵ

Inna hâ'ulâ'i lashirdhimatun qalîlûn

«Ce sont, en fait, une bande peu nombreuse

[And said], "Indeed, those are but a small band

وَإِنَّهُمْ لَنَا لَغَآئِظُونَ ﰶ

Wa'innahum lanâ laghâ'izûn

mais ils nous irritent

And indeed, they are enraging us

وَإِنَّا لَجَمِيعٌ حَذِرُونَۖ ﰷ

Wa'innâ lajamî‘un hadhirûn

tandis que nous sommes tous vigilants»

And indeed, we are a cautious society

فَأَخْرَجْنَٰهُم مِّن جَنَّٰتٖ وَعُيُونٖ ﰸ

Fa'akhrajnâhum min jannâtin wa‘uyûn

Ainsi, Nous les fîmes donc sortir des jardins, des sources

So We removed them from gardens and springs

وَكُنُوزٖ وَمَقَامٖ كَرِيمٖۖ ﰹ

Wakunûzin wamaqâmin karîm

des trésors et d'un lieu de séjour agréable

And treasures and honorable station

كَذَٰلِكَۖ وَأَوْرَثْنَٰهَا بَنِےٓ إِسْرَآءِيلَ ﰺ

Kadhâlika wa'awrathnâhâ banî isrâ'îl

Il en fut ainsi! Et Nous les donnâmes en héritage aux enfants d'Israël

Thus. And We caused to inherit it the Children of Israel

فَأَتْبَعُوهُم مُّشْرِقِينَۖ ﰻ

Fa'atba‘ûhum mushriqîn

Au lever du soleil, ils les poursuivirent

So they pursued them at sunrise

فَلَمَّا تَرَٰٓءَا اَ۬لْجَمْعَٰنِ قَالَ أَصْحَٰبُ مُوس۪ىٰٓ إِنَّا لَمُدْرَكُونَۖ ﰼ

Falammâ tarâ'â ljam‘âni qâla ashâbu mûsê innâ lamudrakûn

Puis, quand les deux partis se virent, les compagnons de Moïse dirent: «Nous allons être rejoints»

And when the two companies saw one another, the companions of Moses said, "Indeed, we are to be overtaken

قَالَ كَلَّآۖ إِنَّ مَعِے رَبِّے سَيَهْدِينِۖ ﰽ

Qâla kallâ inna ma‘î rabbî sayahdîn

Il dit: «Jamais, car j'ai avec moi mon Seigneur qui va me guider»

[Moses] said, "No! Indeed, with me is my Lord; He will guide me

فَأَوْحَيْنَآ إِلَىٰ مُوس۪ىٰٓ أَنِ اِ۪ضْرِب بِّعَصَاكَ اَ۬لْبَحْرَ فَانفَلَقَ فَكَانَ كُلُّ فِرْقٖ كَالطَّوْدِ اِ۬لْعَظِيمِۖ ﰾ

Fa'awhaynâ ilâ mûsê ani drib bi‘asâka lbahra fânfalaqa fakâna kullu firqin kattawdi l‘azîm

Alors Nous révélâmes à Moïse: «Frappe la mer de ton bâton». Elle se fendit alors, et chaque versant fut comme une énorme montagne

Then We inspired to Moses, "Strike with your staff the sea," and it parted, and each portion was like a great towering mountain

وَأَزْلَفْنَا ثَمَّ اَ۬لَاخَرِينَۖ ﰿ

Wa'azlafnâ thamma lakharîn

Nous fîmes approcher les autres [Pharaon et son peuple]

And We advanced thereto the pursuers

وَأَنجَيْنَا مُوس۪ىٰ وَمَن مَّعَهُۥٓ أَجْمَعِينَ ﱀ

Wa'anjaynâ mûsê wamam ma‘ahû ajma‘în

Et Nous sauvâmes Moïse et tous ceux qui étaient avec lui

And We saved Moses and those with him, all together

ثُمَّ أَغْرَقْنَا اَ۬لَاخَرِينَۖ ﱁ

Thumma aghraqnâ lakharîn

ensuite Nous noyâmes les autres

Then We drowned the others

إِنَّ فِے ذَٰلِكَ لَأٓيَةٗۖ وَمَا كَانَ أَكْثَرُهُم مُّومِنِينَۖ ﱂ

Inna fî dhâlika la'yatan wamâ kâna aktharuhum mûminîn

Voilà bien là un prodige, mais la plupart d'entre eux ne croient pas

Indeed in that is a sign, but most of them were not to be believers

وَإِنَّ رَبَّكَ لَهُوَ اَ۬لْعَزِيزُ اُ۬لرَّحِيمُۖ ﱃ

Wa'inna rabbaka lahuwa l‘azîzu rrahîm

Et ton Seigneur, c'est en vérité Lui le Tout Puissant, le Très Miséricordieux

And indeed, your Lord - He is the Exalted in Might, the Merciful

وَاتْلُ عَلَيْهِمْ نَبَأَ ا۪بْرَٰهِيمَ ﱄ

Watlu ‘alayhim naba'a brâhîm

Et récite-leur la nouvelle d'Abraham

And recite to them the news of Abraham

إِذْ قَالَ لِأَبِيهِ وَقَوْمِهِۦ مَا تَعْبُدُونَۖ ﱅ

Idh qâla li'abîhi waqawmihî mâ ta‘budûn

Quand il dit à son père et à son peuple: «Qu'adorez-vous?»

When he said to his father and his people, "What do you worship

قَالُواْ نَعْبُدُ أَصْنَاماٗ فَنَظَلُّ لَهَا عَٰكِفِينَۖ ﱆ

Qâlû na‘budu asnâman fanazallu lahâ ‘âkifîn

Ils dirent: «Nous adorons des idoles et nous leurs restons attachés»

They said, "We worship idols and remain to them devoted

قَالَ هَلْ يَسْمَعُونَكُمُۥٓ إِذْ تَدْعُونَ ﱇ

Qâla hal yasma‘ûnakumû idh tad‘ûn

Il dit: «Vous entendent-elles lorsque vous [les] appelez

He said, "Do they hear you when you supplicate

أَوْ يَنفَعُونَكُمُۥٓ أَوْ يَضُرُّونَۖ ﱈ

Aw yanfa‘ûnakumû aw yadurrûn

ou vous profitent-elles? ou vous nuisent-elles?»

Or do they benefit you, or do they harm

قَالُواْ بَلْ وَجَدْنَآ ءَابَآءَنَا كَذَٰلِكَ يَفْعَلُونَۖ ﱉ

Qâlû bal wajadnâ âbâ'anâ kadhâlika yaf‘alûn

Ils dirent: «Non! mais nous avons trouvé nos ancêtres agissant ainsi»

They said, "But we found our fathers doing thus

قَالَ أَفَرَٰٓيْتُم مَّا كُنتُمْ تَعْبُدُونَ ﱊ

Qâla afarâytum mâ kuntum ta‘budûn

Il dit: «Que dites-vous de ce que vous adoriez

He said, "Then do you see what you have been worshipping

أَنتُمْ وَءَابَآؤُكُمُ اُ۬لَاقْدَمُونَ ﱋ

Antum wa'âbâ'ukumu laqdamûn

Vous et vos vieux ancêtres

You and your ancient forefathers

فَإِنَّهُمْ عَدُوّٞ لِّيَۖ إِلَّا رَبَّ اَ۬لْعَٰلَمِينَ ﱌ

Fa'innahum ‘aduwwul liya illâ rabba l‘âlamîn

Ils sont tous pour moi des ennemis sauf le Seigneur de l'univers

Indeed, they are enemies to me, except the Lord of the worlds

اَ۬لذِے خَلَقَنِے فَهُوَ يَهْدِينِۖ ﱍ

Alladhî khalaqanî fahuwa yahdîn

qui m'a créé, et c'est Lui qui me guide

Who created me, and He [it is who] guides me

وَالذِے هُوَ يُطْعِمُنِے وَيَسْقِينِ ﱎ

Walladhî huwa yut‘imunî wayasqîn

et c'est Lui qui me nourrit et me donne à boire

And it is He who feeds me and gives me drink

وَإِذَا مَرِضْتُ فَهُوَ يَشْفِينِۖ ﱏ

Wa'idhâ maridtu fahuwa yashfîn

et quand je suis malade, c'est Lui qui me guérit

And when I am ill, it is He who cures me

وَالذِے يُمِيتُنِے ثُمَّ يُحْيِينِۖ ﱐ

Walladhî yumîtunî thumma yuhyîn

et qui me fera mourir, puis me redonnera la vie

And who will cause me to die and then bring me to life

۞ وَالذِےٓ أَطْمَعُ أَنْ يَّغْفِرَ لِے خَطِيَٓٔتِے يَوْمَ اَ۬لدِّينِۖ ﱑ

Walladhî atma‘u ay yaghfira lî khatî'atî yawma ddîn

et c'est de Lui que je convoite le pardon de mes fautes le Jour de la Rétribution

And who I aspire that He will forgive me my sin on the Day of Recompense

رَبِّ هَبْ لِے حُكْماٗ وَأَلْحِقْنِے بِالصَّٰلِحِينَۖ ﱒ

Rabbi hab lî hukman wa'alhiqnî bissâlihîn

Seigneur, accorde-moi sagesse (et savoir) et fais-moi rejoindre les gens de bien

[And he said], "My Lord, grant me authority and join me with the righteous

وَاجْعَل لِّے لِسَانَ صِدْقٖ فِے اِ۬لَاخِرِينَۖ ﱓ

Waj‘al lî lisâna sidqin fî lakhirîn

fais que j'aie une mention honorable sur les langues de la postérité

And grant me a reputation of honor among later generations

وَاجْعَلْنِے مِنْ وَّرَثَةِ جَنَّةِ اِ۬لنَّعِيمِۖ ﱔ

Waj‘alnî miw warathati jannati nna‘îm

et fais de moi l'un des héritiers du Jardin des délices

And place me among the inheritors of the Garden of Pleasure

وَاغْفِرْ لِأَبِيَ إِنَّهُۥ كَانَ مِنَ اَ۬لضَّآلِّينَۖ ﱕ

Waghfir li'abiya innahû kâna mina ddâllîn

et pardonne à mon père: car il a été du nombre des égarés

And forgive my father. Indeed, he has been of those astray

وَلَا تُخْزِنِے يَوْمَ يُبْعَثُونَ ﱖ

Walâ tukhzinî yawma yub‘athûn

et ne me couvre pas d'ignominie, le jour où l'on sera ressuscité

And do not disgrace me on the Day they are [all] resurrected

يَوْمَ لَا يَنفَعُ مَالٞ وَلَا بَنُونَ ﱗ

Yawma lâ yanfa‘u mâlun walâ banûn

le jour où ni les biens, ni les enfants ne seront d'aucune utilité

The Day when there will not benefit [anyone] wealth or children

إِلَّا مَنَ اَتَى اَ۬للَّهَ بِقَلْبٖ سَلِيمٖۖ ﱘ

Illâ mana tâ llâha biqalbin salîm

sauf celui qui vient à Allah avec un cœur sain»

But only one who comes to Allah with a sound heart

وَأُزْلِفَتِ اِ۬لْجَنَّةُ لِلْمُتَّقِينَۖ ﱙ

Wa'uzlifati ljannatu lilmuttaqîn

On rapprochera alors le Paradis pour les pieux

And Paradise will be brought near [that Day] to the righteous

وَبُرِّزَتِ اِ۬لْجَحِيمُ لِلْغَاوِينَۖ ﱚ

Waburrizati ljahîmu lilghâwîn

et l'on exposera aux errants la Fournaise

And Hellfire will be brought forth for the deviators

وَقِيلَ لَهُمُۥٓ أَيْنَ مَا كُنتُمْ تَعْبُدُونَ ﱛ

Waqîla lahumû ayna mâ kuntum ta‘budûn

et on leur dira: «Où sont ceux que vous adoriez

And it will be said to them, "Where are those you used to worship

مِن دُونِ اِ۬للَّهِۖ هَلْ يَنصُرُونَكُمُۥٓ أَوْ يَنتَصِرُونَۖ ﱜ

Min dûni llâhi hal yansurûnakumû aw yantasirûn

en dehors d'Allah? vous secourent-ils? ou se secourent-ils eux-mêmes?»

Other than Allah? Can they help you or help themselves

فَكُبْكِبُواْ فِيهَا هُمْ وَالْغَاوُۥنَ ﱝ

Fakubkibû fîhâ hum walghâwûn

Ils y seront donc jetés pêle-mêle, et les errants aussi

So they will be overturned into Hellfire, they and the deviators

وَجُنُودُ إِبْلِيسَ أَجْمَعُونَۖ ﱞ

Wajunûdu iblîsa ajma‘ûn

ainsi que toutes les légions de Iblis

And the soldiers of Iblees, all together

قَالُواْ وَهُمْ فِيهَا يَخْتَصِمُونَ ﱟ

Qâlû wahum fîhâ yakhtasimûn

Ils diront, tout en s'y querellant

They will say while they dispute therein

تَاللَّهِ إِن كُنَّا لَفِے ضَلَٰلٖ مُّبِينٍ ﱠ

Tallâhi in kunnâ lafî dalâlim mubîn

«Par Allah! Nous étions certes dans un égarement évident

By Allah, we were indeed in manifest error

اِذْ نُسَوِّيكُم بِرَبِّ اِ۬لْعَٰلَمِينَۖ ﱡ

Idh nusawwîkum birabbi l‘âlamîn

quand nous faisions de vous les égaux du Seigneur de l'univers

When we equated you with the Lord of the worlds

وَمَآ أَضَلَّنَآ إِلَّا اَ۬لْمُجْرِمُونَۖ ﱢ

Wamâ adallanâ illâ lmujrimûn

Ce ne sont que les criminels qui nous ont égarés

And no one misguided us except the criminals

فَمَا لَنَا مِن شَٰفِعِينَ ﱣ

Famâ lanâ min shâfi‘în

Et nous n'avons pas d'intercesseurs

So now we have no intercessors

وَلَا صَدِيقٍ حَمِيمٖۖ ﱤ

Walâ sadîqin hamîm

ni d'ami chaleureux

And not a devoted friend

فَلَوَ اَنَّ لَنَا كَرَّةٗ فَنَكُونَ مِنَ اَ۬لْمُومِنِينَۖ ﱥ

Falawa nna lanâ karratan fanakûna mina lmûminîn

Si un retour nous était possible, alors nous serions parmi les croyants!»

Then if we only had a return [to the world] and could be of the believers

إِنَّ فِے ذَٰلِكَ لَأٓيَةٗۖ وَمَا كَانَ أَكْثَرُهُم مُّومِنِينَۖ ﱦ

Inna fî dhâlika la'yatan wamâ kâna aktharuhum mûminîn

Voilà bien là un signe; cependant, la plupart d'entre eux ne croient pas

Indeed in that is a sign, but most of them were not to be believers

وَإِنَّ رَبَّكَ لَهُوَ اَ۬لْعَزِيزُ اُ۬لرَّحِيمُۖ ﱧ

Wa'inna rabbaka lahuwa l‘azîzu rrahîm

Et ton Seigneur, c'est Lui vraiment le Puissant, le Très Miséricordieux

And indeed, your Lord - He is the Exalted in Might, the Merciful

كَذَّبَتْ قَوْمُ نُوحٍ اِ۬لْمُرْسَلِينَ ﱨ

Kadhdhabat qawmu nûhini lmursalîn

Le peuple de Noé traita de menteurs les Messagers

The people of Noah denied the messengers

إِذْ قَالَ لَهُمُۥٓ أَخُوهُمْ نُوحٌ اَلَا تَتَّقُونَ ﱩ

Idh qâla lahumû akhûhum nûhuna la tattaqûn

lorsque Noé, leur frère, (contribule) leur dit: «Ne craindrez-vous pas [Allah]

When their brother Noah said to them, "Will you not fear Allah

إِنِّے لَكُمْ رَسُولٌ اَمِينٞۖ ﱪ

Innî lakum rasûluna mîn

Je suis pour vous un messager digne de confiance

Indeed, I am to you a trustworthy messenger

فَاتَّقُواْ اُ۬للَّهَ وَأَطِيعُونِۖ ﱫ

Fattaqû llâha wa'atî‘ûn

Craignez Allah donc et obéissez-moi

So fear Allah and obey me

وَمَآ أَسْـَٔلُكُمْ عَلَيْهِ مِنَ اَجْرٍۖ اِنَ اَجْرِيَ إِلَّا عَلَىٰ رَبِّ اِ۬لْعَٰلَمِينَۖ ﱬ

Wamâ as'alukum ‘alayhi mina jrini na jriya illâ ‘alâ rabbi l‘âlamîn

Et je ne vous demande pas de salaire pour cela; mon salaire n'incombe qu'au Seigneur de l'univers

And I do not ask you for it any payment. My payment is only from the Lord of the worlds

فَاتَّقُواْ اُ۬للَّهَ وَأَطِيعُونِۖ ﱭ

Fattaqû llâha wa'atî‘ûn

Craignez Allah donc, et obéissez-moi»

So fear Allah and obey me

۞ قَالُوٓاْ أَنُومِنُ لَكَ وَاتَّبَعَكَ اَ۬لَارْذَلُونَۖ ﱮ

Qâlû anûminu laka wattaba‘aka lardhalûn

Ils dirent: «Croirons-nous en toi, alors que ce sont les plus vils qui te suivent

They said, "Should we believe you while you are followed by the lowest [class of people]

قَالَ وَمَا عِلْمِے بِمَا كَانُواْ يَعْمَلُونَۖ ﱯ

Qâla wamâ ‘ilmî bimâ kânû ya‘malûn

Il dit: «Je ne sais pas ce que ceux-là faisaient

He said, "And what is my knowledge of what they used to do

إِنْ حِسَابُهُمُۥٓ إِلَّا عَلَىٰ رَبِّے لَوْ تَشْعُرُونَۖ ﱰ

In hisâbuhumû illâ ‘alâ rabbî law tash‘urûn

Leur compte n'incombe qu'à mon Seigneur. Si seulement vous êtes conscients

Their account is only upon my Lord, if you [could] perceive

وَمَآ أَنَا بِطَارِدِ اِ۬لْمُومِنِينَ ﱱ

Wamâ anâ bitâridi lmûminîn

Je ne suis pas celui qui repousse les croyants

And I am not one to drive away the believers

إِنَ اَنَا إِلَّا نَذِيرٞ مُّبِينٞۖ ﱲ

Ina nâ illâ nadhîrum mubîn

Je ne suis qu'un avertisseur explicite»

I am only a clear warner

قَالُواْ لَئِن لَّمْ تَنتَهِ يَٰنُوحُ لَتَكُونَنَّ مِنَ اَ۬لْمَرْجُومِينَۖ ﱳ

Qâlû la'il lam tantahi yânûhu latakûnanna mina lmarjûmîn

Ils dirent: «Si tu ne cesses pas, Noé, tu seras certainement du nombre des lapidés!»

They said, "If you do not desist, O Noah, you will surely be of those who are stoned

قَالَ رَبِّ إِنَّ قَوْمِے كَذَّبُونِ ﱴ

Qâla rabbi inna qawmî kadhdhabûn

Il dit: «O mon Seigneur, mon peuple me traite de menteur

He said, "My Lord, indeed my people have denied me

فَافْتَحْ بَيْنِے وَبَيْنَهُمْ فَتْحاٗ وَنَجِّنِے وَمَن مَّعِيَ مِنَ اَ۬لْمُومِنِينَۖ ﱵ

Faftah baynî wabaynahum fathan wanajjinî wamam ma‘iya mina lmûminîn

Tranche donc clairement entre eux et moi; et sauve-moi ainsi que ceux des croyants qui sont avec moi»

Then judge between me and them with decisive judgement and save me and those with me of the believers

فَأَنجَيْنَٰهُ وَمَن مَّعَهُۥ فِے اِ۬لْفُلْكِ اِ۬لْمَشْحُونِۖ ﱶ

Fa'anjaynâhu wamam ma‘ahû fî lfulki lmashhûn

Nous le sauvâmes donc, de même que ceux qui étaient avec lui dans l'arche, pleinement chargée

So We saved him and those with him in the laden ship

ثُمَّ أَغْرَقْنَا بَعْدُ اُ۬لْبَاقِينَۖ ﱷ

Thumma aghraqnâ ba‘du lbâqîn

Et ensuite nous noyâmes le reste (les infidèles)

Then We drowned thereafter the remaining ones

إِنَّ فِے ذَٰلِكَ لَأٓيَةٗۖ وَمَا كَانَ أَكْثَرُهُم مُّومِنِينَۖ ﱸ

Inna fî dhâlika la'yatan wamâ kâna aktharuhum mûminîn

Voilà bien là un signe. Cependant, la plupart d'entre eux ne croient pas

Indeed in that is a sign, but most of them were not to be believers

وَإِنَّ رَبَّكَ لَهُوَ اَ۬لْعَزِيزُ اُ۬لرَّحِيمُۖ ﱹ

Wa'inna rabbaka lahuwa l‘azîzu rrahîm

Et Ton Seigneur, c'est lui vraiment le Puissant, le Très Miséricordieux

And indeed, your Lord - He is the Exalted in Might, the Merciful

كَذَّبَتْ عَادٌ اِ۬لْمُرْسَلِينَ ﱺ

Kadhdhabat ‘âduni lmursalîn

Les 'Aad traitèrent de menteurs les Envoyés

Aad denied the messengers

إِذْ قَالَ لَهُمُۥٓ أَخُوهُمْ هُودٌ اَلَا تَتَّقُونَ ﱻ

Idh qâla lahumû akhûhum hûduna la tattaqûn

Et quand Hûd, leur frère (contribule), leur dit: «Ne craindrez-vous pas [Allah]?»

When their brother Hud said to them, "Will you not fear Allah

إِنِّے لَكُمْ رَسُولٌ اَمِينٞۖ ﱼ

Innî lakum rasûluna mîn

Je suis pour vous un messager digne de confiance

فَاتَّقُواْ اُ۬للَّهَ وَأَطِيعُونِۖ ﱽ

أَتَبْنُونَ بِكُلِّ رِيعٍ اٰيَةٗ تَعْبَثُونَ ﱿ

Atabnûna bikulli rî‘in âyatan ta‘bathûn

Bâtissez-vous par frivolité sur chaque colline un monument

Do you construct on every elevation a sign, amusing yourselves

وَتَتَّخِذُونَ مَصَانِعَ لَعَلَّكُمْ تَخْلُدُونَ ﲀ

Watattakhidhûna masâni‘a la‘allakum takhludûn

Et édifiez-vous des châteaux comme si vous deviez demeurer éternellement

And take for yourselves palaces and fortresses that you might abide eternally

وَإِذَا بَطَشْتُم بَطَشْتُمْ جَبّ۪ارِينَۖ ﲁ

Wa'idhâ batashtum batashtum jabbêrîn

Et quand vous sévissez contre quelqu'un, vous le faites impitoyablement

And when you strike, you strike as tyrants

فَاتَّقُواْ اُ۬للَّهَ وَأَطِيعُونِۖ ﲂ

Fattaqû llâha wa'atî‘ûn

Craignez Allah donc et obéissez-moi

So fear Allah and obey me

وَاتَّقُواْ اُ۬لذِےٓ أَمَدَّكُم بِمَا تَعْلَمُونَ ﲃ

Wattaqû lladhî amaddakum bimâ ta‘lamûn

Craignez Celui qui vous a pourvus de [toutes les bonnes choses] que vous connaissez

And fear He who provided you with that which you know

أَمَدَّكُم بِأَنْعَٰمٖ وَبَنِينَ ﲄ

Amaddakum bi'an‘âmin wabanîn

qui vous a pourvus de bestiaux et d'enfants

Provided you with grazing livestock and children

وَجَنَّٰتٖ وَعُيُونٍۖ ﲅ

Wajannâtin wa‘uyûn

de jardins et de sources

And gardens and springs

اِنِّيَ أَخَافُ عَلَيْكُمْ عَذَابَ يَوْمٍ عَظِيمٖۖ ﲆ

Inniya akhâfu ‘alaykum ‘adhâba yawmin ‘azîm

Je crains pour vous le châtiment d'un Jour terrible»

Indeed, I fear for you the punishment of a terrible day

قَالُواْ سَوَآءٌ عَلَيْنَآ أَوَعَظْتَ أَمْ لَمْ تَكُن مِّنَ اَ۬لْوَٰعِظِينَ ﲇ

Qâlû sawâ'un ‘alaynâ awa‘azta am lam takum mina lwâ‘izîn

Ils dirent: «Que tu nous exhortes ou pas, cela nous est parfaitement égal

They said, "It is all the same to us whether you advise or are not of the advisors

إِنْ هَٰذَآ إِلَّا خُلُقُ اُ۬لَاوَّلِينَ ﲈ

In hâdhâ illâ khuluqu lawwalîn

Ce ne sont là que des mours des anciens

This is not but the custom of the former peoples

وَمَا نَحْنُ بِمُعَذَّبِينَۖ ﲉ

Wamâ nahnu bimu‘adhdhabîn

Nous ne serons nullement châtiés»

And we are not to be punished

فَكَذَّبُوهُ فَأَهْلَكْنَٰهُمُۥٓۖ إِنَّ فِے ذَٰلِكَ لَأٓيَةٗۖ وَمَا كَانَ أَكْثَرُهُم مُّومِنِينَۖ ﲊ

Fakadhdhabûhu fa'ahlaknâhumû inna fî dhâlika la'yatan wamâ kâna aktharuhum mûminîn

Ils le traitèrent donc de menteur. Et nous les fîmes périr. Voilà bien là un signe! Cependant, la plupart d'entre eux ne croient pas

And they denied him, so We destroyed them. Indeed in that is a sign, but most of them were not to be believers

وَإِنَّ رَبَّكَ لَهُوَ اَ۬لْعَزِيزُ اُ۬لرَّحِيمُۖ ﲋ

Wa'inna rabbaka lahuwa l‘azîzu rrahîm

Et Ton Seigneur, c'est Lui vraiment le Puissant, le Très Miséricordieux

And indeed, your Lord - He is the Exalted in Might, the Merciful

كَذَّبَتْ ثَمُودُ اُ۬لْمُرْسَلِينَ ﲌ

Kadhdhabat thamûdu lmursalîn

Les Thamûd traitèrent de menteurs les Messagers

Thamud denied the messengers

إِذْ قَالَ لَهُمُۥٓ أَخُوهُمْ صَٰلِحٌ اَلَا تَتَّقُونَ ﲍ

Idh qâla lahumû akhûhum sâlihuna la tattaqûn

Quand Sâlih, leur frère (contribule) leur dit: «Ne craindrez-vous pas [Allah]?»

When their brother Salih said to them, "Will you not fear Allah

إِنِّے لَكُمْ رَسُولٌ اَمِينٞۖ ﲎ

Innî lakum rasûluna mîn

Je suis pour vous un messager digne de confiance

Indeed, I am to you a trustworthy messenger

فَاتَّقُواْ اُ۬للَّهَ وَأَطِيعُونِۖ ﲏ

Fattaqû llâha wa'atî‘ûn

Craignez Allah donc et obéissez-moi

So fear Allah and obey me

وَمَآ أَسْـَٔلُكُمْ عَلَيْهِ مِنَ اَجْرٍۖ اِنَ اَجْرِيَ إِلَّا عَلَىٰ رَبِّ اِ۬لْعَٰلَمِينَۖ ﲐ

Wamâ as'alukum ‘alayhi mina jrini na jriya illâ ‘alâ rabbi l‘âlamîn

Je ne vous demande pas de salaire pour cela, mon salaire n'incombe qu'au Seigneur de l'univers

And I do not ask you for it any payment. My payment is only from the Lord of the worlds

۞ أَتُتْرَكُونَ فِے مَا هَٰهُنَآ ءَامِنِينَ ﲑ

Atutrakûna fî mâ hâhunâ âminîn

Vous laissera-t-on en sécurité dans votre présente condition

Will you be left in what is here, secure [from death]

فِے جَنَّٰتٖ وَعُيُونٖ ﲒ

Fî jannâtin wa‘uyûn

Au milieu de jardins, de sources

Within gardens and springs

وَزُرُوعٖ وَنَخْلٖ طَلْعُهَا هَضِيمٞ ﲓ

Wazurû‘in wanakhlin tal‘uhâ hadîm

de cultures et de palmiers aux fruits digestes

And fields of crops and palm trees with softened fruit

وَتَنْحِتُونَ مِنَ اَ۬لْجِبَالِ بُيُوتاٗ فَرِهِينَۖ ﲔ

Watanhitûna mina ljibâli buyûtan farihîn

Creusez-vous habilement des maisons dans les montagnes

And you carve out of the mountains, homes, with skill

فَاتَّقُواْ اُ۬للَّهَ وَأَطِيعُونِۖ ﲕ

Fattaqû llâha wa'atî‘ûn

Craignez Allah donc et obéissez-moi

So fear Allah and obey me

وَلَا تُطِيعُوٓاْ أَمْرَ اَ۬لْمُسْرِفِينَ ﲖ

Walâ tutî‘û amra lmusrifîn

N'obéissez pas à l'ordre des outranciers

And do not obey the order of the transgressors

اَ۬لذِينَ يُفْسِدُونَ فِے اِ۬لَارْضِ وَلَا يُصْلِحُونَۖ ﲗ

Alladhîna yufsidûna fî lardi walâ yuslihûn

qui sèment le désordre sur la terre et n'améliorent rien»

Who cause corruption in the land and do not amend

قَالُوٓاْ إِنَّمَآ أَنتَ مِنَ اَ۬لْمُسَحَّرِينَ ﲘ

Qâlû innamâ anta mina lmusahharîn

Ils dirent: «Tu n'es qu'un ensorcelé

They said, "You are only of those affected by magic

مَآ أَنتَ إِلَّا بَشَرٞ مِّثْلُنَا فَاتِ بِـَٔايَةٍ اِن كُنتَ مِنَ اَ۬لصَّٰدِقِينَۖ ﲙ

Mâ anta illâ basharum mithlunâ fâti bi'âyatini n kunta mina ssâdiqîn

Tu n'es qu'un homme comme nous. Apporte donc un prodige, si tu es du nombre des véridiques»

You are but a man like ourselves, so bring a sign, if you should be of the truthful

قَالَ هَٰذِهِۦ نَاقَةٞ لَّهَا شِرْبٞۖ وَلَكُمْ شِرْبُ يَوْمٖ مَّعْلُومٖۖ ﲚ

Qâla hâdhihî nâqatul lahâ shirbun walakum shirbu yawmim ma‘lûm

Il dit: «Voici une chamelle: à elle de boire un jour convenu, et à vous de boire un jour

He said, "This is a she-camel. For her is a [time of] drink, and for you is a [time of] drink, [each] on a known day

وَلَا تَمَسُّوهَا بِسُوٓءٖ فَيَاخُذَكُمْ عَذَابُ يَوْمٍ عَظِيمٖۖ ﲛ

Walâ tamassûhâ bisû'in fayâkhudhakum ‘adhâbu yawmin ‘azîm

Et ne lui infligez aucun mal, sinon le châtiment d'un jour terrible vous saisira»

And do not touch her with harm, lest you be seized by the punishment of a terrible day

فَعَقَرُوهَا فَأَصْبَحُواْ نَٰدِمِينَ ﲜ

Fa‘aqarûhâ fa'asbahû nâdimîn

Mais ils la tuèrent. Eh bien, ils eurent à regretter

But they hamstrung her and so became regretful

فَأَخَذَهُمُ اُ۬لْعَذَابُۖ إِنَّ فِے ذَٰلِكَ لَأٓيَةٗۖ وَمَا كَانَ أَكْثَرُهُم مُّومِنِينَۖ ﲝ

Fa'akhadhahumu l‘adhâbu inna fî dhâlika la'yatan wamâ kâna aktharuhum mûminîn

Le châtiment, en effet, les saisit. Voilà bien là un prodige. Cependant, la plupart d'entre eux ne croient pas

And the punishment seized them. Indeed in that is a sign, but most of them were not to be believers

وَإِنَّ رَبَّكَ لَهُوَ اَ۬لْعَزِيزُ اُ۬لرَّحِيمُۖ ﲞ

Wa'inna rabbaka lahuwa l‘azîzu rrahîm

Et ton Seigneur, c'est en vérité Lui le Tout Puissant, le Très Miséricordieux

And indeed, your Lord - He is the Exalted in Might, the Merciful

كَذَّبَتْ قَوْمُ لُوطٍ اِ۬لْمُرْسَلِينَ ﲟ

Kadhdhabat qawmu lûtini lmursalîn

Le peuple de Lot traita de menteurs les Messagers

The people of Lot denied the messengers

إِذْ قَالَ لَهُمُۥٓ أَخُوهُمْ لُوطٌ اَلَا تَتَّقُونَ ﲠ

Idh qâla lahumû akhûhum lûtuna la tattaqûn

quand leur frère Lot leur dit: «Ne craindrez-vous pas [Allah]

When their brother Lot said to them, "Will you not fear Allah

إِنِّے لَكُمْ رَسُولٌ اَمِينٞۖ ﲡ

Innî lakum rasûluna mîn

Je suis pour vous un messager digne de confiance

Indeed, I am to you a trustworthy messenger

فَاتَّقُواْ اُ۬للَّهَ وَأَطِيعُونِۖ ﲢ

Fattaqû llâha wa'atî‘ûn

Craignez Allah donc et obéissez-moi

So fear Allah and obey me

وَمَآ أَسْـَٔلُكُمْ عَلَيْهِ مِنَ اَجْرٍۖ اِنَ اَجْرِيَ إِلَّا عَلَىٰ رَبِّ اِ۬لْعَٰلَمِينَۖ ﲣ

Wamâ as'alukum ‘alayhi mina jrini na jriya illâ ‘alâ rabbi l‘âlamîn

Je ne vous demande pas de salaire pour cela; mon salaire n'incombe qu'au Seigneur de l'univers

And I do not ask you for it any payment. My payment is only from the Lord of the worlds

أَتَاتُونَ اَ۬لذُّكْرَانَ مِنَ اَ۬لْعَٰلَمِينَ ﲤ

Atâtûna dhdhukrâna mina l‘âlamîn

Accomplissez-vous l'acte charnel avec les mâles de ce monde

Do you approach males among the worlds

وَتَذَرُونَ مَا خَلَقَ لَكُمْ رَبُّكُم مِّنَ اَزْوَٰجِكُمۖ بَلَ اَنتُمْ قَوْمٌ عَادُونَۖ ﲥ

Watadharûna mâ khalaqa lakum rabbukum mina zwâjikum bala ntum qawmun ‘âdûn

Et délaissez-vous les épouses que votre Seigneur a créées pour vous? Mais vous n'êtes que des gens transgresseurs»

And leave what your Lord has created for you as mates? But you are a people transgressing

قَالُواْ لَئِن لَّمْ تَنتَهِ يَٰلُوطُ لَتَكُونَنَّ مِنَ اَ۬لْمُخْرَجِينَۖ ﲦ

Qâlû la'il lam tantahi yâlûtu latakûnanna mina lmukhrajîn

Ils dirent: «Si tu ne cesses pas, Lot, tu seras certainement du nombre des expulsés»

They said, "If you do not desist, O Lot, you will surely be of those evicted

قَالَ إِنِّے لِعَمَلِكُم مِّنَ اَ۬لْقَالِينَۖ ﲧ

Qâla innî li‘amalikum mina lqâlîn

Il dit: «Je déteste vraiment ce que vous faites

He said, "Indeed, I am, toward your deed, of those who detest [it]

رَبِّ نَجِّنِے وَأَهْلِے مِمَّا يَعْمَلُونَۖ ﲨ

Rabbi najjinî wa'ahlî mimmâ ya‘malûn

Seigneur, sauve-moi ainsi que ma famille de ce qu'ils font»

My Lord, save me and my family from [the consequence of] what they do

فَنَجَّيْنَٰهُ وَأَهْلَهُۥٓ أَجْمَعِينَ ﲩ

Fanajjaynâhu wa'ahlahû ajma‘în

Nous le sauvâmes alors, lui et toute sa famille

So We saved him and his family, all

إِلَّا عَجُوزاٗ فِے اِ۬لْغَٰبِرِينَ ﲪ

Illâ ‘ajûzan fî lghâbirîn

sauf une vieille qui fut parmi les exterminés

Except an old woman among those who remained behind

ثُمَّ دَمَّرْنَا اَ۬لَاخَرِينَۖ ﲫ

Thumma dammarnâ lakharîn

Puis Nous détruisîmes les autres

Then We destroyed the others

وَأَمْطَرْنَا عَلَيْهِم مَّطَراٗۖ فَسَآءَ مَطَرُ اُ۬لْمُنذَرِينَۖ ﲬ

Wa'amtarnâ ‘alayhim mataran fasâ'a mataru lmundharîn

et Nous fîmes pleuvoir sur eux une pluie (de pierres). Et quelle pluie fatale pour ceux qui sont avertis

And We rained upon them a rain [of stones], and evil was the rain of those who were warned

إِنَّ فِے ذَٰلِكَ لَأٓيَةٗۖ وَمَا كَانَ أَكْثَرُهُم مُّومِنِينَۖ ﲭ

Inna fî dhâlika la'yatan wamâ kâna aktharuhum mûminîn

Voilà bien là un prodige. Cependant, la plupart d'entre eux ne croient pas

Indeed in that is a sign, but most of them were not to be believers

وَإِنَّ رَبَّكَ لَهُوَ اَ۬لْعَزِيزُ اُ۬لرَّحِيمُۖ ﲮ

Wa'inna rabbaka lahuwa l‘azîzu rrahîm

Et ton Seigneur, c'est en vérité Lui le Tout Puissant, le Très Miséricordieux

And indeed, your Lord - He is the Exalted in Might, the Merciful

كَذَّبَ أَصْحَٰبُ لَيْكَةَ اَ۬لْمُرْسَلِينَ ﲯ

Kadhdhaba ashâbu laykata lmursalîn

Les gens d'Al-Ayka traitèrent de menteurs les Messagers

The companions of the thicket denied the messengers

إِذْ قَالَ لَهُمْ شُعَيْبٌ اَلَا تَتَّقُونَ ﲰ

Idh qâla lahum shu‘aybuna la tattaqûn

Lorsque Chuayb leur dit: «Ne craindrez-vous pas [Allah]»

When Shu'ayb said to them, "Will you not fear Allah

إِنِّے لَكُمْ رَسُولٌ اَمِينٞۖ ﲱ

Innî lakum rasûluna mîn

Je suis pour vous un messager digne de confiance

Indeed, I am to you a trustworthy messenger

فَاتَّقُواْ اُ۬للَّهَ وَأَطِيعُونِۖ ﲲ

Fattaqû llâha wa'atî‘ûn

Craignez Allah donc et obéissez-moi

So fear Allah and obey me

وَمَآ أَسْـَٔلُكُمْ عَلَيْهِ مِنَ اَجْرٍۖ اِنَ اَجْرِيَ إِلَّا عَلَىٰ رَبِّ اِ۬لْعَٰلَمِينَۖ ﲳ

Wamâ as'alukum ‘alayhi mina jrini na jriya illâ ‘alâ rabbi l‘âlamîn

et je ne vous demande pas de salaire pour cela; mon salaire n'incombe qu'au Seigneur de l'univers

And I do not ask you for it any payment. My payment is only from the Lord of the worlds

۞ أَوْفُواْ اُ۬لْكَيْلَۖ وَلَا تَكُونُواْ مِنَ اَ۬لْمُخْسِرِينَۖ ﲴ

Awfû lkayla walâ takûnû mina lmukhsirîn

Donnez la pleine mesure et n'en faites rien perdre [aux gens]

Give full measure and do not be of those who cause loss

وَزِنُواْ بِالْقُسْطَاسِ اِ۬لْمُسْتَقِيمِۖ ﲵ

Wazinû bilqustâsi lmustaqîm

et pesez avec une balance exacte

And weigh with an even balance

وَلَا تَبْخَسُواْ اُ۬لنَّاسَ أَشْيَآءَهُمْۖ وَلَا تَعْثَوْاْ فِے اِ۬لَارْضِ مُفْسِدِينَۖ ﲶ

Walâ tabkhasû nnâsa ashyâ'ahum walâ ta‘thaw fî lardi mufsidîn

Ne donnez pas aux gens moins que leur dû; et ne commettez pas de désordre et de corruption sur terre

And do not deprive people of their due and do not commit abuse on earth, spreading corruption

وَاتَّقُواْ اُ۬لذِے خَلَقَكُمْ وَالْجِبِلَّةَ اَ۬لَاوَّلِينَۖ ﲷ

Wattaqû lladhî khalaqakum waljibillata lawwalîn

Et craignez Celui qui vous a créés, vous et les anciennes générations»

And fear He who created you and the former creation

قَالُوٓاْ إِنَّمَآ أَنتَ مِنَ اَ۬لْمُسَحَّرِينَ ﲸ

Qâlû innamâ anta mina lmusahharîn

Ils dirent: «Tu es certes du nombre des ensorcelés

They said, "You are only of those affected by magic

وَمَآ أَنتَ إِلَّا بَشَرٞ مِّثْلُنَا وَإِن نَّظُنُّكَ لَمِنَ اَ۬لْكَٰذِبِينَ ﲹ

Wamâ anta illâ basharum mithlunâ wa'in nazunnuka lamina lkâdhibîn

Tu n'es qu'un homme comme nous; et vraiment nous pensons que tu es du nombre des menteurs

You are but a man like ourselves, and indeed, we think you are among the liars

فَأَسْقِطْ عَلَيْنَا كِسْفاٗ مِّنَ اَ۬لسَّمَآءِ ان كُنتَ مِنَ اَ۬لصَّٰدِقِينَۖ ﲺ

Fa'asqit ‘alaynâ kisfam mina ssamâ'i ân kunta mina ssâdiqîn

Fais donc tomber sur nous des morceaux du ciel si tu es du nombre des véridiques!»

So cause to fall upon us fragments of the sky, if you should be of the truthful

قَالَ رَبِّيَ أَعْلَمُ بِمَا تَعْمَلُونَۖ ﲻ

Qâla rabbiya a‘lamu bimâ ta‘malûn

Il dit: «Mon Seigneur sait mieux ce que vous faites»

He said, "My Lord is most knowing of what you do

فَكَذَّبُوهُ فَأَخَذَهُمْ عَذَابُ يَوْمِ اِ۬لظُّلَّةِۖ إِنَّهُۥ كَانَ عَذَابَ يَوْمٍ عَظِيمٍۖ ﲼ

Fakadhdhabûhu fa'akhadhahum ‘adhâbu yawmi zzullati innahû kâna ‘adhâba yawmin ‘azîm

Mais ils le traitèrent de menteur. Alors, le châtiment du jour de l'Ombre les saisit. Ce fut le châtiment d'un jour terrible

And they denied him, so the punishment of the day of the black cloud seized them. Indeed, it was the punishment of a terrible day

اِنَّ فِے ذَٰلِكَ لَأٓيَةٗۖ وَمَا كَانَ أَكْثَرُهُم مُّومِنِينَۖ ﲽ

Inna fî dhâlika la'yatan wamâ kâna aktharuhum mûminîn

Voilà bien là un prodige. Cependant, la plupart d'entre eux ne croient pas

Indeed in that is a sign, but most of them were not to be believers

وَإِنَّ رَبَّكَ لَهُوَ اَ۬لْعَزِيزُ اُ۬لرَّحِيمُۖ ﲾ

Wa'inna rabbaka lahuwa l‘azîzu rrahîm

Et ton Seigneur, c'est en vérité Lui le Tout Puissant, le Très Miséricordieux

And indeed, your Lord - He is the Exalted in Might, the Merciful

وَإِنَّهُۥ لَتَنزِيلُ رَبِّ اِ۬لْعَٰلَمِينَۖ ﲿ

Wa'innahû latanzîlu rabbi l‘âlamîn

Ce (Coran) ci, c'est le Seigneur de l'univers qui l'a fait descendre

And indeed, the Qur'an is the revelation of the Lord of the worlds

نَزَلَ بِهِ اِ۬لرُّوحُ اُ۬لَامِينُ ﳀ

Nazala bihi rrûhu lamîn

et l'Esprit fidèle est descendu avec cela

The Trustworthy Spirit has brought it down

عَلَىٰ قَلْبِكَ لِتَكُونَ مِنَ اَ۬لْمُنذِرِينَ ﳁ

‘alâ qalbika litakûna mina lmundhirîn

sur ton cœur, pour que tu sois du nombre des avertisseurs

Upon your heart, [O Muhammad] - that you may be of the warners

بِلِسَانٍ عَرَبِيّٖ مُّبِينٖۖ ﳂ

Bilisânin ‘arabiyyim mubîn

en une langue arabe très claire

In a clear Arabic language

وَإِنَّهُۥ لَفِے زُبُرِ اِ۬لَاوَّلِينَۖ ﳃ

Wa'innahû lafî zuburi lawwalîn

Et ceci était déjà mentionné dans les Ecrits des anciens (envoyés)

And indeed, it is [mentioned] in the scriptures of former peoples

أَوَلَمْ يَكُن لَّهُمُۥٓ ءَايَةً اَنْ يَّعْلَمَهُۥ عُلَمَٰٓؤُاْ بَنِےٓ إِسْرَآءِيلَۖ ﳄ

Awalam yakul lahumû âyatana y ya‘lamahû ‘ulamâ'u banî isrâ'îl

N'est-ce pas pour eux un signe, que les savants des Enfants d'Israël le sachent

And has it not been a sign to them that it is recognized by the scholars of the Children of Israel

وَلَوْ نَزَّلْنَٰهُ عَلَىٰ بَعْضِ اِ۬لَاعْجَمِينَ ﳅ

Walaw nazzalnâhu ‘alâ ba‘di la‘jamîn

Si Nous l'avions fait descendre sur quelqu'un des non-Arabes

And even if We had revealed it to one among the foreigners

فَقَرَأَهُۥ عَلَيْهِم مَّا كَانُواْ بِهِۦ مُومِنِينَۖ ﳆ

Faqara'ahû ‘alayhim mâ kânû bihî mûminîn

et que celui-ci le leur eut récité, ils n'y auraient pas cru

And he had recited it to them [perfectly], they would [still] not have been believers in it

كَذَٰلِكَ سَلَكْنَٰهُ فِے قُلُوبِ اِ۬لْمُجْرِمِينَ ﳇ

Kadhâlika salaknâhu fî qulûbi lmujrimîn

Ainsi l'avons Nous fait pénétrer [le doute] dans les cœurs des criminels

Thus have We inserted disbelief into the hearts of the criminals

لَا يُومِنُونَ بِهِۦ حَتَّىٰ يَرَوُاْ اُ۬لْعَذَابَ اَ۬لَالِيمَ ﳈ

Lâ yûminûna bihî hattâ yarawu l‘adhâba lalîm

mais ils n'y [le Coran] croiront pas avant de voir le châtiment douloureux

They will not believe in it until they see the painful punishment

فَيَاتِيَهُم بَغْتَةٗ وَهُمْ لَا يَشْعُرُونَ ﳉ

Fayâtiyahum baghtatan wahum lâ yash‘urûn

qui viendra sur eux soudain, sans qu'ils s'en rendent compte

And it will come to them suddenly while they perceive [it] not

فَيَقُولُواْ هَلْ نَحْنُ مُنظَرُونَۖ ﳊ

Fayaqûlû hal nahnu munzarûn

alors ils diront: «Est-ce qu'on va nous donner du répit?»

And they will say, "May we be reprieved

أَفَبِعَذَابِنَا يَسْتَعْجِلُونَۖ ﳋ

Afabi‘adhâbinâ yasta‘jilûn

Est-ce qu'ils cherchent à hâter Notre châtiment

So for Our punishment are they impatient

أَفَرَٰٓيْتَ إِن مَّتَّعْنَٰهُمْ سِنِينَ ﳌ

Afarâyta im matta‘nâhum sinîn

Vois-tu si Nous leur permettions de jouir, des années durant

Then have you considered if We gave them enjoyment for years

ثُمَّ جَآءَهُم مَّا كَانُواْ يُوعَدُونَ ﳍ

Thumma jâ'ahum mâ kânû yû‘adûn

et qu'ensuite leur arrive ce dont on les menaçait

And then there came to them that which they were promised

مَآ أَغْن۪ىٰ عَنْهُم مَّا كَانُواْ يُمَتَّعُونَۖ ﳎ

Mâ aghnê ‘anhum mâ kânû yumatta‘ûn

les jouissances qu'on leur a permises ne leur serviraient à rien

They would not be availed by the enjoyment with which they were provided

وَمَآ أَهْلَكْنَا مِن قَرْيَةٍ اِلَّا لَهَا مُنذِرُونَ ﳏ

Wamâ ahlaknâ min qaryatini llâ lahâ mundhirûn

Et Nous ne faisons pas périr de cité avant qu'elle n'ait eu des avertisseurs

And We did not destroy any city except that it had warners

ذِكْر۪ىٰۖ وَمَا كُنَّا ظَٰلِمِينَۖ ﳐ

Dhikrê wamâ kunnâ zâlimîn

[à titre de] rappel, et Nous ne sommes pas injuste

As a reminder; and never have We been unjust

۞ وَمَا تَنَزَّلَتْ بِهِ اِ۬لشَّيَٰطِينُ وَمَا يَنۢبَغِے لَهُمْ وَمَا يَسْتَطِيعُونَۖ ﳑ

Wamâ tanazzalat bihi shshayâtînu wamâ yambaghî lahum wamâ yastatî‘ûn

Et ce ne sont point les diables qui sont descendus avec ceci (le Coran) cela ne leur convient pas; et ils n'auraient pu le faire

And the devils have not brought the revelation down It is not allowable for them, nor would they be able

إِنَّهُمْ عَنِ اِ۬لسَّمْعِ لَمَعْزُولُونَۖ ﳒ

Innahum ‘ani ssam‘i lama‘zûlûn

Car ils sont écartés de toute écoute (du message divin)

Indeed they, from [its] hearing, are removed

فَلَا تَدْعُ مَعَ اَ۬للَّهِ إِلَٰهاً اٰخَرَ فَتَكُونَ مِنَ اَ۬لْمُعَذَّبِينَۖ ﳓ

Falâ tad‘u ma‘a llâhi ilâhan âkhara fatakûna mina lmu‘adhdhabîn

N'invoque donc pas une autre divinité avec Allah, sinon tu seras du nombre des châtiés

So do not invoke with Allah another deity and [thus] be among the punished

وَأَنذِرْ عَشِيرَتَكَ اَ۬لَاقْرَبِينَ ﳔ

Wa'andhir ‘ashîrataka laqrabîn

Et avertis les gens qui te sont les plus proches

And warn, [O Muhammad], your closest kindred

وَاخْفِضْ جَنَاحَكَ لِمَنِ اِ۪تَّبَعَكَ مِنَ اَ۬لْمُومِنِينَۖ ﳕ

Wakhfid janâhaka limani ttaba‘aka mina lmûminîn

Et abaisse ton aile [sois bienveillant] pour les croyants qui te suivent

And lower your wing to those who follow you of the believers

فَإِنْ عَصَوْكَ فَقُلِ اِنِّے بَرِےٓءٞ مِّمَّا تَعْمَلُونَۖ ﳖ

Fa'in ‘asawka faquli nnî barî'um mimmâ ta‘malûn

Mais s'ils te désobéissent, dis-leur: «Moi, je désavoue ce que vous faites»

And if they disobey you, then say, "Indeed, I am disassociated from what you are doing

فَتَوَكَّلْ عَلَى اَ۬لْعَزِيزِ اِ۬لرَّحِيمِ ﳗ

Fatawakkal ‘alâ l‘azîzi rrahîm

Et place ta confiance dans le Tout Puissant, le Très Miséricordieux

And rely upon the Exalted in Might, the Merciful

اِ۬لذِے يَر۪يٰكَ حِينَ تَقُومُ ﳘ

Alladhî yarêka hîna taqûm

qui te voit quand tu te lèves

Who sees you when you arise

وَتَقَلُّبَكَ فِے اِ۬لسَّٰجِدِينَۖ ﳙ

Wataqallubaka fî ssâjidîn

et (voit) tes gestes parmi ceux qui se prosternent

And your movement among those who prostrate

إِنَّهُۥ هُوَ اَ۬لسَّمِيعُ اُ۬لْعَلِيمُۖ ﳚ

Innahû huwa ssamî‘u l‘alîm

C'est Lui vraiment, l'Audient, l'Omniscient

Indeed, He is the Hearing, the Knowing

هَلُ ا۟نَبِّئُكُمْ عَلَىٰ مَن تَنَزَّلُ اُ۬لشَّيَٰطِينُ ﳛ

Halu unabbî'ukum ‘alâ man tanazzalu shshayâtîn

Vous apprendrai-Je sur qui les diables descendent

Shall I inform you upon whom the devils descend

تَنَزَّلُ عَلَىٰ كُلِّ أَفَّاكٍ اَثِيمٖ ﳜ

Tanazzalu ‘alâ kulli affâkina thîm

Ils descendent sur tout calomniateur, pécheur

They descend upon every sinful liar

يُلْقُونَ اَ۬لسَّمْعَ وَأَكْثَرُهُمْ كَٰذِبُونَۖ ﳝ

Yulqûna ssam‘a wa'aktharuhum kâdhibûn

Ils tendent l'oreille... Cependant, la plupart d'entre eux sont menteurs

They pass on what is heard, and most of them are liars

وَالشُّعَرَآءُ يَتْبَعُهُمُ اُ۬لْغَاوُۥنَۖ ﳞ

Washshu‘arâ'u yatba‘uhumu lghâwûn

Et quant aux poètes, ce sont les égarés qui les suivent

And the poets - [only] the deviators follow them

أَلَمْ تَرَ أَنَّهُمْ فِے كُلِّ وَادٖ يَهِيمُونَ ﳟ

Alam tara annahum fî kulli wâdin yahîmûn

Ne vois-tu pas qu'ils divaguent dans chaque vallée

Do you not see that in every valley they roam

وَأَنَّهُمْ يَقُولُونَ مَا لَا يَفْعَلُونَۖ ﳠ

Wa'annahum yaqûlûna mâ lâ yaf‘alûn

et qu'ils disent ce qu'ils ne font pas

And that they say what they do not do

إِلَّا اَ۬لذِينَ ءَامَنُواْ وَعَمِلُواْ اُ۬لصَّٰلِحَٰتِ وَذَكَرُواْ اُ۬للَّهَ كَثِيراٗ وَانتَصَرُواْ مِنۢ بَعْدِ مَا ظُلِمُواْۖ وَسَيَعْلَمُ اُ۬لذِينَ ظَلَمُوٓاْ أَيَّ مُنقَلَبٖ يَنقَلِبُونَۖ ﳡ

Illâ lladhîna âmanû wa‘amilû ssâlihâti wadhakarû llâha kathîran wântasarû mim ba‘di mâ zulimû wasaya‘lamu lladhîna zalamû ayya munqalabin yanqalibûn

à part ceux qui croient et font de bonnes œuvres, qui invoquent souvent le nom d'Allah et se défendent contre les torts qu'on leur fait. Les injustes verront bientôt le revirement qu'ils [éprouveront]

Except those [poets] who believe and do righteous deeds and remember Allah often and defend [the Muslims] after they were wronged. And those who have wronged are going to know to what [kind of] return they will be returned
