يَسِٓۖ وَالْقُرْءَانِ اِ۬لْحَكِيمِ ﰀ

Yâ sîn walqur'âni lhakîm

Yâ Sîn Par le Coran plein de sagesse

Ya, Seen By the wise Qur'an

إِنَّكَ لَمِنَ اَ۬لْمُرْسَلِينَ ﰁ

Innaka lamina lmursalîn

Tu (Muhammad) es certes du nombre des messagers

Indeed you, [O Muhammad], are from among the messengers

عَلَىٰ صِرَٰطٖ مُّسْتَقِيمٖۖ ﰂ

‘alâ sirâtim mustaqîm

sur un chemin droit

On a straight path

تَنزِيلُ اُ۬لْعَزِيزِ اِ۬لرَّحِيمِ ﰃ

Tanzîlu l‘azîzi rrahîm

C'est une révélation de la part du Tout Puissant, du Très Miséricordieux

[This is] a revelation of the Exalted in Might, the Merciful

لِتُنذِرَ قَوْماٗ مَّآ أُنذِرَ ءَابَآؤُهُمْ فَهُمْ غَٰفِلُونَۖ ﰄ

Litundhira qawmam mâ undhira âbâ'uhum fahum ghâfilûn

pour que tu avertisses un peuple dont les ancêtres n'ont pas été avertis: ils sont donc insouciants

That you may warn a people whose forefathers were not warned, so they are unaware

۞ لَقَدْ حَقَّ اَ۬لْقَوْلُ عَلَىٰٓ أَكْثَرِهِمْ فَهُمْ لَا يُومِنُونَۖ ﰅ

Laqad haqqa lqawlu ‘alâ aktharihim fahum lâ yûminûn

En effet, la Parole contre la plupart d'entre eux s'est réalisée: ils ne croiront donc pas

Already the word has come into effect upon most of them, so they do not believe

إِنَّا جَعَلْنَا فِےٓ أَعْنَٰقِهِمُۥٓ أَغْلَٰلاٗ فَهِيَ إِلَى اَ۬لَاذْقَانِ فَهُم مُّقْمَحُونَۖ ﰆ

Innâ ja‘alnâ fî a‘nâqihimû aghlâlan fahiya ilâ ladhqâni fahum muqmahûn

Nous mettrons des carcans à leurs cous, et il y en aura jusqu'aux mentons: et voilà qu'ils iront têtes dressées

Indeed, We have put shackles on their necks, and they are to their chins, so they are with heads [kept] aloft

وَجَعَلْنَا مِنۢ بَيْنِ أَيْدِيهِمْ سُدّاٗ وَمِنْ خَلْفِهِمْ سُدّاٗ فَأَغْشَيْنَٰهُمْ فَهُمْ لَا يُبْصِرُونَۖ ﰇ

Waja‘alnâ mim bayni aydîhim suddan wamin khalfihim suddan fa'aghshaynâhum fahum lâ yubsirûn

et Nous mettrons une barrière devant eux et une barrière derrière eux; Nous les recouvrirons d'un voile: et voilà qu'ils ne pourront rien voir

And We have put before them a barrier and behind them a barrier and covered them, so they do not see

وَسَوَآءٌ عَلَيْهِمُۥٓ ءَآنذَرْتَهُمُۥٓ أَمْ لَمْ تُنذِرْهُمْ لَا يُومِنُونَۖ ﰈ

Wasawâ'un ‘alayhimû ândhartahumû am lam tundhirhum lâ yûminûn

Cela leur est égal que tu les avertisses ou que tu ne les avertisses pas: ils ne croiront jamais

And it is all the same for them whether you warn them or do not warn them - they will not believe

إِنَّمَا تُنذِرُ مَنِ اِ۪تَّبَعَ اَ۬لذِّكْرَ وَخَشِيَ اَ۬لرَّحْمَٰنَ بِالْغَيْبِ فَبَشِّرْهُ بِمَغْفِرَةٖ وَأَجْرٖ كَرِيمٍۖ ﰉ

Innamâ tundhiru mani ttaba‘a dhdhikra wakhashiya rrahmâna bilghaybi fabashshirhu bimaghfiratin wa'ajrin karîm

Tu avertis seulement celui qui suit le Rappel (le Coran), et craint le Tout Miséricordieux, malgré qu'il ne Le voit pas. Annonce-lui un pardon et une récompense généreuse

You can only warn one who follows the message and fears the Most Merciful unseen. So give him good tidings of forgiveness and noble reward

اِنَّا نَحْنُ نُحْيِ اِ۬لْمَوْت۪ىٰ وَنَكْتُبُ مَا قَدَّمُواْ وَءَاثَٰرَهُمْۖ وَكُلَّ شَےْءٍ اَحْصَيْنَٰهُ فِےٓ إِمَامٖ مُّبِينٖۖ ﰊ

Innâ nahnu nuhyi lmawtê wanaktubu mâ qaddamû wa'âthârahum wakulla shay'ina hsaynâhu fî imâmim mubîn

C'est Nous qui ressuscitons les morts et écrivons ce qu'ils ont fait [pour l'au-delà] ainsi que leurs traces. Et Nous avons dénombré toute chose dans un registre explicite

Indeed, it is We who bring the dead to life and record what they have put forth and what they left behind, and all things We have enumerated in a clear register

وَاضْرِبْ لَهُم مَّثَلاً اَصْحَٰبَ اَ۬لْقَرْيَةِ إِذْ جَآءَهَا اَ۬لْمُرْسَلُونَ ﰋ

Wadrib lahum mathalana shâba lqaryati idh jâ'ahâ lmursalûn

Donne-leur comme exemple les habitants de la cité, quand lui vinrent les envoyés

And present to them an example: the people of the city, when the messengers came to it

إِذَ اَرْسَلْنَآ إِلَيْهِمُ اُ۪ثْنَيْنِ فَكَذَّبُوهُمَا فَعَزَّزْنَا بِثَالِثٖ فَقَالُوٓاْ إِنَّآ إِلَيْكُم مُّرْسَلُونَۖ ﰌ

Idha rsalnâ ilayhimu thnayni fakadhdhabûhumâ fa‘azzaznâ bithâlithin faqâlû innâ ilaykum mursalûn

Quand Nous leur envoyâmes deux [envoyés] et qu'ils les traitèrent de menteurs. Nous [les] renforçâmes alors par un troisième et ils dirent: «Vraiment, nous sommes envoyés à vous»

When We sent to them two but they denied them, so We strengthened them with a third, and they said, "Indeed, we are messengers to you

قَالُواْ مَآ أَنتُمُۥٓ إِلَّا بَشَرٞ مِّثْلُنَا وَمَآ أَنزَلَ اَ۬لرَّحْمَٰنُ مِن شَےْءٍ اِنَ اَنتُمُۥٓ إِلَّا تَكْذِبُونَۖ ﰍ

Qâlû mâ antumû illâ basharum mithlunâ wamâ anzala rrahmânu min shay'ini na ntumû illâ takdhibûn

Mais ils [les gens] dirent: «Vous n'êtes que des hommes comme nous. Le Tout Miséricordieux n'a rien fait descendre et vous ne faites que mentir»

They said, "You are not but human beings like us, and the Most Merciful has not revealed a thing. You are only telling lies

قَالُواْ رَبُّنَا يَعْلَمُ إِنَّآ إِلَيْكُمْ لَمُرْسَلُونَ ﰎ

Qâlû rabbunâ ya‘lamu innâ ilaykum lamursalûn

Ils [les messagers] dirent: «Notre Seigneur sait qu'en vérité nous sommes envoyés à vous

They said, "Our Lord knows that we are messengers to you

وَمَا عَلَيْنَآ إِلَّا اَ۬لْبَلَٰغُ اُ۬لْمُبِينُۖ ﰏ

Wamâ ‘alaynâ illâ lbalâghu lmubîn

et il ne nous incombe que de transmettre clairement (notre message)»

And we are not responsible except for clear notification

قَالُوٓاْ إِنَّا تَطَيَّرْنَا بِكُمْ لَئِن لَّمْ تَنتَهُواْ لَنَرْجُمَنَّكُمْ وَلَيَمَسَّنَّكُم مِّنَّا عَذَابٌ اَلِيمٞۖ ﰐ

Qâlû innâ tatayyarnâ bikum la'il lam tantahû lanarjumannakum walayamassannakum minnâ ‘adhâbuna lîm

Ils dirent: «Nous voyons en vous un mauvais présage. Si vous ne cessez pas, nous vous lapiderons et un douloureux châtiment de notre part vous touchera»

They said, "Indeed, we consider you a bad omen. If you do not desist, we will surely stone you, and there will surely touch you, from us, a painful punishment

قَالُواْ طَٰٓئِرُكُم مَّعَكُمُۥٓ أَئِن ذُكِّرْتُمۖ بَلَ اَنتُمْ قَوْمٞ مُّسْرِفُونَۖ ﰑ

Qâlû tâ'irukum ma‘akumû a'in dhukkirtum bala ntum qawmum musrifûn

Ils dirent: «Votre mauvais présage est avec vous-mêmes. Est-ce que (c'est ainsi que vous agissez) quand on vous [le] rappelle? Mais vous êtes des gens outranciers!»

They said, "Your omen is with yourselves. Is it because you were reminded? Rather, you are a transgressing people

وَجَآءَ مِنَ اَقْصَا اَ۬لْمَدِينَةِ رَجُلٞ يَسْع۪ىٰۖ قَالَ يَٰقَوْمِ اِ۪تَّبِعُواْ اُ۬لْمُرْسَلِينَ ﰒ

Wajâ'a mina qsâ lmadînati rajulun yas‘ê qâla yâqawmi ttabi‘û lmursalîn

Et du bout de la ville, un homme vint en toute hâte et dit: «O mon peuple, suivez les messagers

And there came from the farthest end of the city a man, running. He said, "O my people, follow the messengers

اَ۪تَّبِعُواْ مَن لَّا يَسْـَٔلُكُمُۥٓ أَجْراٗ وَهُم مُّهْتَدُونَۖ ﰓ

Attabi‘û mal lâ yas'alukumû ajran wahum muhtadûn

suivez ceux qui ne vous demandent aucun salaire et qui sont sur la bonne voie

Follow those who do not ask of you [any] payment, and they are [rightly] guided

وَمَالِيَ لَآ أَعْبُدُ اُ۬لذِے فَطَرَنِے وَإِلَيْهِ تُرْجَعُونَۖ ﰔ

Wamâliya lâ a‘budu lladhî fataranî wa'ilayhi turja‘ûn

et qu'aurais-je à ne pas adorer Celui qui m'a créé? Et c'est vers Lui que vous serez ramenés

And why should I not worship He who created me and to whom you will be returned

ءَآتَّخِذُ مِن دُونِهِۦٓ ءَالِهَةً اِنْ يُّرِدْنِ اِ۬لرَّحْمَٰنُ بِضُرّٖ لَّا تُغْنِ عَنِّے شَفَٰعَتُهُمْ شَئْاٗ وَلَا يُنقِذُونِۦٓۖ ﰕ

Âttakhidhu min dûnihî âlihatani y yuridni rrahmânu bidurril lâ tughni ‘annî shafâ‘atuhum shay'an walâ yunqidhûnî

Prendrais-je en dehors de Lui des divinités? Si le Tout Miséricordieux me veut du mal, leur intercession de me servira à rien et ils ne me sauveront pas

Should I take other than Him [false] deities [while], if the Most Merciful intends for me some adversity, their intercession will not avail me at all, nor can they save me

إِنِّيَ إِذاٗ لَّفِے ضَلَٰلٖ مُّبِينٍۖ ﰖ

Inniya idhal lafî dalâlim mubîn

Je serai alors dans un égarement évident

Indeed, I would then be in manifest error

اِنِّيَ ءَامَنتُ بِرَبِّكُمْ فَاسْمَعُونِۖ ﰗ

Inniya âmantu birabbikum fasma‘ûn

[Mais] je crois en votre Seigneur. Ecoutez-moi donc»

Indeed, I have believed in your Lord, so listen to me

قِيلَ اَ۟دْخُلِ اِ۬لْجَنَّةَۖ قَالَ يَٰلَيْتَ قَوْمِے يَعْلَمُونَ ﰘ

Qîla dkhuli ljannata qâla yâlayta qawmî ya‘lamûn

Alors, il [lui] fut dit: «Entre au Paradis». Il dit: «Ah si seulement mon peuple savait

It was said, "Enter Paradise." He said, "I wish my people could know

بِمَا غَفَرَ لِے رَبِّے وَجَعَلَنِے مِنَ اَ۬لْمُكْرَمِينَۖ ﰙ

Bimâ ghafara lî rabbî waja‘alanî mina lmukramîn

en raison de quoi mon Seigneur m'a pardonné et mis au nombre des honorés»

Of how my Lord has forgiven me and placed me among the honored

۞ وَمَآ أَنزَلْنَا عَلَىٰ قَوْمِهِۦ مِنۢ بَعْدِهِۦ مِن جُندٖ مِّنَ اَ۬لسَّمَآءِ وَمَا كُنَّا مُنزِلِينَۖ ﰚ

Wamâ anzalnâ ‘alâ qawmihî mim ba‘dihî min jundim mina ssamâ'i wamâ kunnâ munzilîn

Et après lui Nous ne fîmes descendre du ciel aucune armée. Nous ne voulions rien faire descendre sur son peuple

And We did not send down upon his people after him any soldiers from the heaven, nor would We have done so

إِن كَانَتِ اِلَّا صَيْحَةٗ وَٰحِدَةٗ فَإِذَا هُمْ خَٰمِدُونَۖ ﰛ

In kânati llâ sayhatan wâhidatan fa'idhâ hum khâmidûn

Ce ne fut qu'un seul Cri et les voilà éteints

It was not but one shout, and immediately they were extinguished

يَٰحَسْرَةً عَلَى اَ۬لْعِبَادِۖ مَا يَاتِيهِم مِّن رَّسُولٍ اِلَّا كَانُواْ بِهِۦ يَسْتَهْزِءُونَۖ ﰜ

Yâhasratan ‘alâ l‘ibâdi mâ yâtîhim mir rasûlini llâ kânû bihî yastahzi'ûn

Hélas pour les esclaves [les humains]! Jamais il ne leur vient de messager sans qu'ils ne s'en raillent

How regretful for the servants. There did not come to them any messenger except that they used to ridicule him

أَلَمْ يَرَوْاْ كَمَ اَهْلَكْنَا قَبْلَهُم مِّنَ اَ۬لْقُرُونِ أَنَّهُمُۥٓ إِلَيْهِمْ لَا يَرْجِعُونَۖ ﰝ

Alam yaraw kama hlaknâ qablahum mina lqurûni annahumû ilayhim lâ yarji‘ûn

Ne voient-ils pas combien de générations avant eux Nous avons fait périr? Lesquelles ne retourneront jamais parmi eux

Have they not considered how many generations We destroyed before them - that they to them will not return

وَإِن كُلّٞ لَّمَا جَمِيعٞ لَّدَيْنَا مُحْضَرُونَۖ ﰞ

Wa'in kullul lamâ jamî‘ul ladaynâ muhdarûn

Et tous sans exception comparaîtront devant Nous

And indeed, all of them will yet be brought present before Us

وَءَايَةٞ لَّهُمُ اُ۬لَارْضُ اُ۬لْمَيِّتَةُ أَحْيَيْنَٰهَا وَأَخْرَجْنَا مِنْهَا حَبّاٗ فَمِنْهُ يَاكُلُونَۖ ﰟ

Wa'âyatul lahumu lardu lmayyitatu ahyaynâhâ wa'akhrajnâ minhâ habban faminhu yâkulûn

Une preuve pour eux est la terre morte, à laquelle Nous redonnons la vie, et d'où Nous faisons sortir des grains dont ils mangent

And a sign for them is the dead earth. We have brought it to life and brought forth from it grain, and from it they eat

وَجَعَلْنَا فِيهَا جَنَّٰتٖ مِّن نَّخِيلٖ وَأَعْنَٰبٖ وَفَجَّرْنَا فِيهَا مِنَ اَ۬لْعُيُونِ ﰠ

Waja‘alnâ fîhâ jannâtim min nakhîlin wa'a‘nâbin wafajjarnâ fîhâ mina l‘uyûn

Nous y avons mis des jardins de palmiers et de vignes et y avons fait jaillir des sources

And We placed therein gardens of palm trees and grapevines and caused to burst forth therefrom some springs

لِيَاكُلُواْ مِن ثَمَرِهِۦ وَمَا عَمِلَتْهُ أَيْدِيهِمُۥٓۖ أَفَلَا يَشْكُرُونَۖ ﰡ

Liyâkulû min thamarihî wamâ ‘amilathu aydîhimû afalâ yashkurûn

afin qu'ils mangent de Ses fruits et de ce que leurs mains ont produit. Ne seront-ils pas reconnaissants

That they may eat of His fruit. And their hands have not produced it, so will they not be grateful

سُبْحَٰنَ اَ۬لذِے خَلَقَ اَ۬لَازْوَٰجَ كُلَّهَا مِمَّا تُنۢبِتُ اُ۬لَارْضُ وَمِنَ اَنفُسِهِمْ وَمِمَّا لَا يَعْلَمُونَۖ ﰢ

Subhâna lladhî khalaqa lazwâja kullahâ mimmâ tumbitu lardu wamina nfusihim wamimmâ lâ ya‘lamûn

Louange à Celui qui a créé tous les couples de ce que la terre fait pousser, d'eux-mêmes, et de ce qu'ils ne savent pas

Exalted is He who created all pairs - from what the earth grows and from themselves and from that which they do not know

وَءَايَةٞ لَّهُمُ اُ۬ليْلُ نَسْلَخُ مِنْهُ اُ۬لنَّهَارَ فَإِذَا هُم مُّظْلِمُونَۖ ﰣ

Wa'âyatul lahumu llaylu naslakhu minhu nnahâra fa'idhâ hum muzlimûn

Et une preuve pour eux est la nuit. Nous en écorchons le jour et ils sont alors dans les ténèbres

And a sign for them is the night. We remove from it [the light of] day, so they are [left] in darkness

وَالشَّمْسُ تَجْرِے لِمُسْتَقَرّٖ لَّهَاۖ ذَٰلِكَ تَقْدِيرُ اُ۬لْعَزِيزِ اِ۬لْعَلِيمِۖ ﰤ

Washshamsu tajrî limustaqarril lahâ dhâlika taqdîru l‘azîzi l‘alîm

et le soleil court vers un gîte qui lui est assigné; telle est la détermination du Tout Puissant, de l'Omniscient

And the sun runs [on course] toward its stopping point. That is the determination of the Exalted in Might, the Knowing

وَالْقَمَرُ قَدَّرْنَٰهُ مَنَازِلَ حَتَّىٰ عَادَ كَالْعُرْجُونِ اِ۬لْقَدِيمِۖ ﰥ

Walqamaru qaddarnâhu manâzila hattâ ‘âda kal‘urjûni lqadîm

Et la lune, Nous lui avons déterminé des phases jusqu'à ce qu'elle devienne comme la palme vieillie

And the moon - We have determined for it phases, until it returns [appearing] like the old date stalk

لَا اَ۬لشَّمْسُ يَنۢبَغِے لَهَآ أَن تُدْرِكَ اَ۬لْقَمَرَ وَلَا اَ۬ليْلُ سَابِقُ اُ۬لنَّه۪ارِۖ وَكُلّٞ فِے فَلَكٖ يَسْبَحُونَۖ ﰦ

Lâ shshamsu yambaghî lahâ an tudrika lqamara walâ llaylu sâbiqu nnahêri wakullun fî falakin yasbahûn

Le soleil ne peut rattraper la lune, ni la nuit devancer le jour; et chacun vogue dans une orbite

It is not allowable for the sun to reach the moon, nor does the night overtake the day, but each, in an orbit, is swimming

وَءَايَةٞ لَّهُمُۥٓ أَنَّا حَمَلْنَا ذُرِّيَّٰتِهِمْ فِے اِ۬لْفُلْكِ اِ۬لْمَشْحُونِ ﰧ

Wa'âyatul lahumû annâ hamalnâ dhurriyyâtihim fî lfulki lmashhûn

Et un (autre) signe pour eux est que Nous avons transporté leur descendance sur le bateau chargé

And a sign for them is that We carried their forefathers in a laden ship

وَخَلَقْنَا لَهُم مِّن مِّثْلِهِۦ مَا يَرْكَبُونَۖ ﰨ

Wakhalaqnâ lahum mim mithlihî mâ yarkabûn

et Nous leur créâmes des semblables sur lesquels ils montent

And We created for them from the likes of it that which they ride

وَإِن نَّشَأْ نُغْرِقْهُمْ فَلَا صَرِيخَ لَهُمْ وَلَا هُمْ يُنقَذُونَ ﰩ

Wa'in nasha' nughriqhum falâ sarîkha lahum walâ hum yunqadhûn

Et si Nous le voulons, Nous les noyons; pour eux alors, pas de secoureur et ils ne seront pas sauvés

And if We should will, We could drown them; then no one responding to a cry would there be for them, nor would they be saved

إِلَّا رَحْمَةٗ مِّنَّا وَمَتَٰعاً اِلَىٰ حِينٖۖ ﰪ

Illâ rahmatam minnâ wamatâ‘ani lâ hîn

sauf par une miséricorde de Notre part, et à titre de jouissance pour un temps

Except as a mercy from Us and provision for a time

وَإِذَا قِيلَ لَهُمُ اُ۪تَّقُواْ مَا بَيْنَ أَيْدِيكُمْ وَمَا خَلْفَكُمْ لَعَلَّكُمْ تُرْحَمُونَۖ ﰫ

Wa'idhâ qîla lahumu ttaqû mâ bayna aydîkum wamâ khalfakum la‘allakum turhamûn

Et quand on leur dit: «Craignez ce qu'il y a devant vous et ce qu'il y a derrière vous afin que vous ayez la miséricorde»

But when it is said to them, "Beware of what is before you and what is behind you; perhaps you will receive mercy

۞ وَمَا تَاتِيهِم مِّنَ اٰيَةٖ مِّنَ اٰيَٰتِ رَبِّهِمُۥٓ إِلَّا كَانُواْ عَنْهَا مُعْرِضِينَۖ ﰬ

Wamâ tâtîhim mina âyatim mina âyâti rabbihimû illâ kânû ‘anhâ mu‘ridîn

Or, pas une preuve ne leur vient, parmi les preuves de leur Seigneur sans qu'ils ne s'en détournent

And no sign comes to them from the signs of their Lord except that they are from it turning away

وَإِذَا قِيلَ لَهُمُۥٓ أَنفِقُواْ مِمَّا رَزَقَكُمُ اُ۬للَّهُ قَالَ اَ۬لذِينَ كَفَرُواْ لِلذِينَ ءَامَنُوٓاْ أَنُطْعِمُ مَن لَّوْ يَشَآءُ اُ۬للَّهُ أَطْعَمَهُۥٓ إِنَ اَنتُمُۥٓ إِلَّا فِے ضَلَٰلٖ مُّبِينٖۖ ﰭ

Wa'idhâ qîla lahumû anfiqû mimmâ razaqakumu llâhu qâla lladhîna kafarû lilladhîna âmanû anut‘imu mal law yashâ'u llâhu at‘amahû ina ntumû illâ fî dalâlim mubîn

Et quand on leur dit: «Dépensez de ce qu'Allah vous a attribué», ceux qui ont mécru disent à ceux qui ont cru: «Nourrirons-nous quelqu'un qu'Allah aurait nourri s'Il l'avait voulu? Vous n'êtes que dans un égarement évident»

And when it is said to them, "Spend from that which Allah has provided for you," those who disbelieve say to those who believe, "Should we feed one whom, if Allah had willed, He would have fed? You are not but in clear error

وَيَقُولُونَ مَت۪ىٰ هَٰذَا اَ۬لْوَعْدُ إِن كُنتُمْ صَٰدِقِينَۖ ﰮ

Wayaqûlûna matê hâdhâ lwa‘du in kuntum sâdiqîn

Et ils disent: «A quand cette promesse si vous êtes véridiques?»

And they say, "When is this promise, if you should be truthful

مَا يَنظُرُونَ إِلَّا صَيْحَةٗ وَٰحِدَةٗ تَاخُذُهُمْ وَهُمْ يَخَصِّمُونَۖ ﰯ

Mâ yanzurûna illâ sayhatan wâhidatan tâkhudhuhum wahum yakhassimûn

Ils n'attendent qu'un seul Cri qui les saisira alors qu'ils seront en train de disputer

They do not await except one blast which will seize them while they are disputing

فَلَا يَسْتَطِيعُونَ تَوْصِيَةٗ وَلَآ إِلَىٰٓ أَهْلِهِمْ يَرْجِعُونَۖ ﰰ

Falâ yastatî‘ûna tawsiyatan walâ ilâ ahlihim yarji‘ûn

Ils ne pourront donc ni faire de testament, ni retourner chez leurs familles

And they will not be able [to give] any instruction, nor to their people can they return

وَنُفِخَ فِے اِ۬لصُّورِ فَإِذَا هُم مِّنَ اَ۬لَاجْدَاثِ إِلَىٰ رَبِّهِمْ يَنسِلُونَۖ ﰱ

Wanufikha fî ssûri fa'idhâ hum mina lajdâthi ilâ rabbihim yansilûn

Et on soufflera dans la Trompe, et voilà que, des tombes, ils se précipiteront vers leur Seigneur

And the Horn will be blown; and at once from the graves to their Lord they will hasten

قَالُواْ يَٰوَيْلَنَا مَنۢ بَعَثَنَا مِن مَّرْقَدِنَاۖ هَٰذَا مَا وَعَدَ اَ۬لرَّحْمَٰنُ وَصَدَقَ اَ۬لْمُرْسَلُونَۖ ﰲ

Qâlû yâwaylanâ mam ba‘athanâ mim marqadinâ hâdhâ mâ wa‘ada rrahmânu wasadaqa lmursalûn

en disant: «Malheur à nous! Qui nous a ressuscités de là où nous dormions?» C'est ce que le Tout Miséricordieux avait promis; et les Messagers avaient dit vrai

They will say, "O woe to us! Who has raised us up from our sleeping place?" [The reply will be], "This is what the Most Merciful had promised, and the messengers told the truth

إِن كَانَتِ اِلَّا صَيْحَةٗ وَٰحِدَةٗ فَإِذَا هُمْ جَمِيعٞ لَّدَيْنَا مُحْضَرُونَۖ ﰳ

In kânati llâ sayhatan wâhidatan fa'idhâ hum jamî‘ul ladaynâ muhdarûn

Ce ne sera qu'un seul Cri, et voilà qu'ils seront tous amenés devant Nous

It will not be but one blast, and at once they are all brought present before Us

فَالْيَوْمَ لَا تُظْلَمُ نَفْسٞ شَئْاٗ وَلَا تُجْزَوْنَ إِلَّا مَا كُنتُمْ تَعْمَلُونَۖ ﰴ

Falyawma lâ tuzlamu nafsun shay'an walâ tujzawna illâ mâ kuntum ta‘malûn

Ce jour-là, aucune âme ne sera lésée en rien. Et vous ne serez rétribués que selon ce que vous faisiez

So today no soul will be wronged at all, and you will not be recompensed except for what you used to do

إِنَّ أَصْحَٰبَ اَ۬لْجَنَّةِ اِ۬لْيَوْمَ فِے شُغْلٖ فَٰكِهُونَ ﰵ

Inna ashâba ljannati lyawma fî shughlin fâkihûn

Les gens du Paradis seront, ce jour-là, dans une occupation qui les remplit de bonheur

Indeed the companions of Paradise, that Day, will be amused in [joyful] occupation

هُمْ وَأَزْوَٰجُهُمْ فِے ظِلَٰلٍ عَلَى اَ۬لَارَآئِكِ مُتَّكِـُٔونَۖ ﰶ

Hum wa'azwâjuhum fî zilâlin ‘alâ larâ'iki muttaki'ûn

eux et leurs épouses sont sous des ombrages, accoudés sur les divans

They and their spouses - in shade, reclining on adorned couches

لَهُمْ فِيهَا فَٰكِهَةٞۖ وَلَهُم مَّا يَدَّعُونَ ﰷ

Lahum fîhâ fâkihatun walahum mâ yadda‘ûn

Là ils auront des fruits et ils auront ce qu'ils réclameront

For them therein is fruit, and for them is whatever they request [or wish]

سَلَٰمٞۖ قَوْلاٗ مِّن رَّبّٖ رَّحِيمٖۖ ﰸ

Salâmun qawlam mir rabbir rahîm

«Salâm» [paix et salut]! Parole de la part d'un Seigneur Très Miséricordieux

[And] "Peace," a word from a Merciful Lord

وَامْتَٰزُواْ اُ۬لْيَوْمَ أَيُّهَا اَ۬لْمُجْرِمُونَۖ ﰹ

Wamtâzû lyawma ayyuhâ lmujrimûn

«O injustes! Tenez-vous à l'écart ce jour-là

[Then He will say], "But stand apart today, you criminals

۞ أَلَمَ اَعْهَدِ اِلَيْكُمْ يَٰبَنِےٓ ءَادَمَ أَن لَّا تَعْبُدُواْ اُ۬لشَّيْطَٰنَ إِنَّهُۥ لَكُمْ عَدُوّٞ مُّبِينٞ ﰺ

Alama ‘hadi laykum yâbanî âdama al lâ ta‘budû shshaytâna innahû lakum ‘aduwwum mubîn

Ne vous ai-Je pas engagés, enfants d'Adam, à ne pas adorer le Diable? Car il est vraiment pour vous un ennemi déclaré

Did I not enjoin upon you, O children of Adam, that you not worship Satan - [for] indeed, he is to you a clear enemy

وَأَنُ اُ۟عْبُدُونِےۖ هَٰذَا صِرَٰطٞ مُّسْتَقِيمٞۖ ﰻ

Wa'anu ‘budûnî hâdhâ sirâtum mustaqîm

et [ne vous ai-Je pas engagés] à M'adorer? Voilà un chemin bien droit

And that you worship [only] Me? This is a straight path

وَلَقَدَ اَضَلَّ مِنكُمْ جِبِلّاٗ كَثِيراًۖ اَفَلَمْ تَكُونُواْ تَعْقِلُونَۖ ﰼ

Walaqada dalla minkum jibillan kathîrana falam takûnû ta‘qilûn

Et il a très certainement égaré un grand nombre d'entre vous. Ne raisonniez-vous donc pas

And he had already led astray from among you much of creation, so did you not use reason

هَٰذِهِۦ جَهَنَّمُ اُ۬لتِے كُنتُمْ تُوعَدُونَ ﰽ

Hâdhihî jahannamu llatî kuntum tû‘adûn

Voici l'Enfer qu'on vous promettait

This is the Hellfire which you were promised

اَ۪صْلَوْهَا اَ۬لْيَوْمَ بِمَا كُنتُمْ تَكْفُرُونَۖ ﰾ

Aslawhâ lyawma bimâ kuntum takfurûn

Brûlez-y aujourd'hui, pour avoir mécru»

[Enter to] burn therein today for what you used to deny

اَ۬لْيَوْمَ نَخْتِمُ عَلَىٰٓ أَفْوَٰهِهِمْ وَتُكَلِّمُنَآ أَيْدِيهِمْ وَتَشْهَدُ أَرْجُلُهُم بِمَا كَانُواْ يَكْسِبُونَۖ ﰿ

Alyawma nakhtimu ‘alâ afwâhihim watukallimunâ aydîhim watashhadu arjuluhum bimâ kânû yaksibûn

Ce jour-là, Nous scellerons leurs bouches, tandis que leurs mains Nous parleront et que leurs jambes témoigneront de ce qu'ils avaient accompli

That Day, We will seal over their mouths, and their hands will speak to Us, and their feet will testify about what they used to earn

وَلَوْ نَشَآءُ لَطَمَسْنَا عَلَىٰٓ أَعْيُنِهِمْ فَاسْتَبَقُواْ اُ۬لصِّرَٰطَ فَأَنّ۪ىٰ يُبْصِرُونَۖ ﱀ

Walaw nashâ'u latamasnâ ‘alâ a‘yunihim fastabaqû ssirâta fa'annê yubsirûn

Et si Nous voulions, Nous effacerions leurs yeux et ils courront vers le chemin. Mais comment alors pourront-ils voir

And if We willed, We could have obliterated their eyes, and they would race to [find] the path, and how could they see

وَلَوْ نَشَآءُ لَمَسَخْنَٰهُمْ عَلَىٰ مَكَانَتِهِمْ فَمَا اَ۪سْتَطَٰعُواْ مُضِيّاٗ وَلَا يَرْجِعُونَۖ ﱁ

Walaw nashâ'u lamasakhnâhum ‘alâ makânatihim famâ statâ‘û mudiyyan walâ yarji‘ûn

Et si Nous voulions, Nous les métamorphoserions sur place; alors ils ne sauront ni avancer ni revenir

And if We willed, We could have deformed them, [paralyzing them] in their places so they would not be able to proceed, nor could they return

وَمَن نُّعَمِّرْهُ نَنكُسْهُ فِے اِ۬لْخَلْقِۖ أَفَلَا تَعْقِلُونَۖ ﱂ

Waman nu‘ammirhu nankushu fî lkhalqi afalâ ta‘qilûn

A quiconque Nous accordons une longue vie, Nous faisons baisser sa forme. Ne comprendront-ils donc pas

And he to whom We grant long life We reverse in creation; so will they not understand

وَمَا عَلَّمْنَٰهُ اُ۬لشِّعْرَ وَمَا يَنۢبَغِے لَهُۥٓۖ إِنْ هُوَ إِلَّا ذِكْرٞ وَقُرْءَانٞ مُّبِينٞ ﱃ

Wamâ ‘allamnâhu shshi‘ra wamâ yambaghî lahû in huwa illâ dhikrun waqur'ânum mubîn

Nous ne lui (à Muhammad) avons pas enseigné la poésie; cela ne lui convient pas non plus. Ceci n'est qu'un rappel et une Lecture [Coran] claire

And We did not give Prophet Muhammad, knowledge of poetry, nor is it befitting for him. It is not but a message and a clear Qur'an

لِّتُنذِرَ مَن كَانَ حَيّاٗ وَيَحِقَّ اَ۬لْقَوْلُ عَلَى اَ۬لْكٰ۪فِرِينَۖ ﱄ

Litundhira man kâna hayyan wayahiqqa lqawlu ‘alâ lkêfirîn

pour qu'il avertisse celui qui est vivant et que la Parole se réalise contre les mécréants

To warn whoever is alive and justify the word against the disbelievers

أَوَلَمْ يَرَوَاْ اَنَّا خَلَقْنَا لَهُم مِّمَّا عَمِلَتَ اَيْدِينَآ أَنْعَٰماٗ فَهُمْ لَهَا مَٰلِكُونَۖ ﱅ

Awalam yarawa nnâ khalaqnâ lahum mimmâ ‘amilata ydînâ an‘âman fahum lahâ mâlikûn

Ne voient-ils donc pas que, parmi ce que Nos mains ont fait, Nous leur avons créé des bestiaux dont ils sont propriétaires

Do they not see that We have created for them from what Our hands have made, grazing livestock, and [then] they are their owners

وَذَلَّلْنَٰهَا لَهُمْ فَمِنْهَا رَكُوبُهُمْ وَمِنْهَا يَاكُلُونَۖ ﱆ

Wadhallalnâhâ lahum faminhâ rakûbuhum waminhâ yâkulûn

et Nous les leur avons soumis: certains leur servent de monture et d'autres de nourriture

And We have tamed them for them, so some of them they ride, and some of them they eat

وَلَهُمْ فِيهَا مَنَٰفِعُ وَمَشَارِبُۖ أَفَلَا يَشْكُرُونَۖ ﱇ

Walahum fîhâ manâfi‘u wamashâribu afalâ yashkurûn

et ils en retirent d'autres utilités et des boissons. Ne seront-ils donc pas reconnaissants

And for them therein are [other] benefits and drinks, so will they not be grateful

وَاتَّخَذُواْ مِن دُونِ اِ۬للَّهِ ءَالِهَةٗ لَّعَلَّهُمْ يُنصَرُونَ ﱈ

Wattakhadhû min dûni llâhi âlihatal la‘allahum yunsarûn

Et ils adoptèrent des divinités en dehors d'Allah, dans l'espoir d'être secourus

But they have taken besides Allah [false] deities that perhaps they would be helped

لَا يَسْتَطِيعُونَ نَصْرَهُمْ وَهُمْ لَهُمْ جُندٞ مُّحْضَرُونَۖ ﱉ

Lâ yastatî‘ûna nasrahum wahum lahum jundum muhdarûn

Celles-ci ne pourront pas les secourir, elles formeront au contraire une armée dressée contre eux

They are not able to help them, and they [themselves] are for them soldiers in attendance

فَلَا يُحْزِنكَ قَوْلُهُمُۥٓۖ إِنَّا نَعْلَمُ مَا يُسِرُّونَ وَمَا يُعْلِنُونَۖ ﱊ

Falâ yuhzinka qawluhumû innâ na‘lamu mâ yusirrûna wamâ yu‘linûn

Que leurs paroles ne t'affligent donc pas! Nous savons ce qu'ils cachent et ce qu'ils divulguent

So let not their speech grieve you. Indeed, We know what they conceal and what they declare

أَوَلَمْ يَرَ اَ۬لِانسَٰنُ أَنَّا خَلَقْنَٰهُ مِن نُّطْفَةٖ فَإِذَا هُوَ خَصِيمٞ مُّبِينٞۖ ﱋ

Awalam yara linsânu annâ khalaqnâhu min nutfatin fa'idhâ huwa khasîmum mubîn

L'homme ne voit-il pas que Nous l'avons créé d'une goutte de sperme? Et le voilà [devenu] un adversaire déclaré

Does man not consider that We created him from a [mere] sperm-drop - then at once he is a clear adversary

وَضَرَبَ لَنَا مَثَلاٗ وَنَسِيَ خَلْقَهُۥۖ قَالَ مَنْ يُّحْيِ اِ۬لْعِظَٰمَ وَهِيَ رَمِيمٞۖ ﱌ

Wadaraba lanâ mathalan wanasiya khalqahû qâla may yuhyi l‘izâma wahiya ramîm

Il cite pour Nous un exemple, tandis qu'il oublie sa propre création; il dit: «Qui va redonner la vie à des ossements une fois réduits en poussière?»

And he presents for Us an example and forgets his [own] creation. He says, "Who will give life to bones while they are disintegrated

قُلْ يُحْيِيهَا اَ۬لذِےٓ أَنشَأَهَآ أَوَّلَ مَرَّةٖ وَهُوَ بِكُلِّ خَلْقٍ عَلِيمٌۖ ﱍ

Qul yuhyîhâ lladhî ansha'ahâ awwala marratin wahuwa bikulli khalqin ‘alîm

Dis: «Celui qui les a créés une première fois, leur redonnera la vie. Il Se connaît parfaitement à toute création

Say, "He will give them life who produced them the first time; and He is, of all creation, Knowing

۞ اِ۬لذِے جَعَلَ لَكُم مِّنَ اَ۬لشَّجَرِ اِ۬لَاخْضَرِ نَاراٗ فَإِذَآ أَنتُم مِّنْهُ تُوقِدُونَۖ ﱎ

Alladhî ja‘ala lakum mina shshajari lakhdari nâran fa'idhâ antum minhu tûqidûn

c'est Lui qui, de l'arbre vert, a fait pour vous du feu, et voilà que de cela vous allumez

[It is] He who made for you from the green tree, fire, and then from it you ignite

أَوَلَيْسَ اَ۬لذِے خَلَقَ اَ۬لسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَالَارْضَ بِقَٰدِرٍ عَلَىٰٓ أَنْ يَّخْلُقَ مِثْلَهُمۖ بَل۪ىٰ وَهُوَ اَ۬لْخَلَّٰقُ اُ۬لْعَلِيمُۖ ﱏ

Awalaysa lladhî khalaqa ssamâwâti walarda biqâdirin ‘alâ ay yakhluqa mithlahum balê wahuwa lkhallâqu l‘alîm

Celui qui a créé les cieux et la terre ne sera-t-Il pas capable de créer leur pareil? Oh que si! et Il est le grand Créateur, l'Omniscient

Is not He who created the heavens and the earth Able to create the likes of them? Yes, [it is so]; and He is the Knowing Creator

إِنَّمَآ أَمْرُهُۥٓ إِذَآ أَرَادَ شَئْاً اَنْ يَّقُولَ لَهُۥ كُنۖ فَيَكُونُۖ ﱐ

Innamâ amruhû idhâ arâda shay'ana y yaqûla lahû kun fayakûn

Quand Il veut une chose, Son commandement consiste à dire: «Sois», et c'est

His command is only when He intends a thing that He says to it, "Be," and it is

فَسُبْحَٰنَ اَ۬لذِے بِيَدِهِۦ مَلَكُوتُ كُلِّ شَےْءٖ وَإِلَيْهِ تُرْجَعُونَۖ ﱑ

Fasubhâna lladhî biyadihî malakûtu kulli shay'in wa'ilayhi turja‘ûn

Louange donc, à Celui qui détient en Sa main la royauté sur toute chose! Et c'est vers Lui que vous serez ramenés

So exalted is He in whose hand is the realm of all things, and to Him you will be returned
