سُورَةُ النَّبَإ

78. An-Naba’ · Muhammad Hamidullah · Saheeh International

40 verses

بِسْمِ اِ۬للَّهِ اِ۬لرَّحْمَٰنِ اِ۬لرَّحِيمِ Au nom d'Allah, le Tout Miséricordieux, le Très Miséricordieux. In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful.

1

عَمَّۖ يَتَسَآءَلُونَ ﰀ

‘amma yatasâ'alûn

Sur quoi s'interrogent-ils mutuellement

About what are they asking one another

2

عَنِ اِ۬لنَّبَإِ اِ۬لْعَظِيمِ ﰁ

‘ani nnaba'i l‘azîm

Sur la grande nouvelle

About the great news

3

اِ۬لذِے هُمْ فِيهِ مُخْتَلِفُونَۖ ﰂ

Alladhî hum fîhi mukhtalifûn

à propos de laquelle ils divergent

That over which they are in disagreement

4

كَلَّا سَيَعْلَمُونَ ﰃ

Kallâ saya‘lamûn

Eh bien non! Ils sauront bientôt

No! They are going to know

5

ثُمَّ كَلَّا سَيَعْلَمُونَۖ ﰄ

Thumma kallâ saya‘lamûn

Encore une fois, non! Ils sauront bientôt

Then, no! They are going to know

6

أَلَمْ نَجْعَلِ اِ۬لَارْضَ مِهَٰداٗ ﰅ

Alam naj‘ali larda mihâdâ

N'avons-Nous pas fait de la terre une couche

Have We not made the earth a resting place

7

وَالْجِبَالَ أَوْتَاداٗ ﰆ

Waljibâla awtâdâ

et (placé) les montagnes comme des piquets

And the mountains as stakes

8

وَخَلَقْنَٰكُمُۥٓ أَزْوَٰجاٗ ﰇ

Wakhalaqnâkumû azwâjâ

Nous vous avons créés en couples

And We created you in pairs

9

وَجَعَلْنَا نَوْمَكُمْ سُبَاتاٗ ﰈ

Waja‘alnâ nawmakum subâah

et désigné votre sommeil pour votre repos

And made your sleep [a means for] rest

10

وَجَعَلْنَا اَ۬ليْلَ لِبَاساٗ ﰉ

Waja‘alnâ llayla libâsâ

et fait de la nuit un vêtement

And made the night as clothing

11

وَجَعَلْنَا اَ۬لنَّهَارَ مَعَاشاٗ ﰊ

Waja‘alnâ nnahâra ma‘âshâ

et assigné le jour pour les affaires de la vie

And made the day for livelihood

12

وَبَنَيْنَا فَوْقَكُمْ سَبْعاٗ شِدَاداٗ ﰋ

Wabanaynâ fawqakum sab‘an shidâdâ

et construit au-dessus de vous sept (cieux) renforcés

And constructed above you seven strong [heavens]

13

وَجَعَلْنَا سِرَاجاٗ وَهَّاجاٗ ﰌ

Waja‘alnâ sirâjan wahhâjâ

et [y] avons placé une lampe (le soleil) très ardente

And made [therein] a burning lamp

14

وَأَنزَلْنَا مِنَ اَ۬لْمُعْصِرَٰتِ مَآءٗ ثَجَّاجاٗ ﰍ

Wa'anzalnâ mina lmu‘sirâti mâ'an thajjâjâ

et fait descendre des nuées une eau abondante

And sent down, from the rain clouds, pouring water

15

لِّنُخْرِجَ بِهِۦ حَبّاٗ وَنَبَاتاٗ ﰎ

Linukhrija bihî habban wanabâah

pour faire pousser par elle grains et plantes

That We may bring forth thereby grain and vegetation

16

وَجَنَّٰتٍ اَلْفَافاًۖ ﰏ

Wajannâtina lfâfâ

et jardins luxuriants

And gardens of entwined growth

17

اِنَّ يَوْمَ اَ۬لْفَصْلِ كَانَ مِيقَٰتاٗ ﰐ

Inna yawma lfasli kâna mîqâah

Le Jour de la Décision [du Jugement] a son terme fixé

Indeed, the Day of Judgement is an appointed time

18

يَوْمَ يُنفَخُ فِے اِ۬لصُّورِ فَتَاتُونَ أَفْوَاجاٗ ﰑ

Yawma yunfakhu fî ssûri fatâtûna afwâjâ

Le jour où l'on soufflera dans la Trompe, vous viendrez par troupes

The Day the Horn is blown and you will come forth in multitudes

19

وَفُتِّحَتِ اِ۬لسَّمَآءُ فَكَانَتَ اَبْوَٰباٗ ﰒ

Wafuttihati ssamâ'u fakânata bwâbâ

et le ciel sera ouvert et [présentera] des portes

And the heaven is opened and will become gateways

20

وَسُيِّرَتِ اِ۬لْجِبَالُ فَكَانَتْ سَرَاباًۖ ﰓ

Wasuyyirati ljibâlu fakânat sarâbâ

et les montagnes seront mises en marche et deviendront un mirage

And the mountains are removed and will be [but] a mirage

21

اِنَّ جَهَنَّمَ كَانَتْ مِرْصَاداٗ ﰔ

Inna jahannama kânat mirsâdâ

L'Enfer demeure aux aguets

Indeed, Hell has been lying in wait

22

لِّلطَّٰغِينَ مَـَٔاباٗ ﰕ

Littâghîna ma'âbâ

refuge pour les transgresseurs

For the transgressors, a place of return

23

لَّٰبِثِينَ فِيهَآ أَحْقَاباٗۖ ﰖ

Lâbithîna fîhâ ahqâbâ

Ils y demeureront pendant des siècles successifs

In which they will remain for ages [unending]

24

لَّا يَذُوقُونَ فِيهَا بَرْداٗ وَلَا شَرَاباً ﰗ

Lâ yadhûqûna fîhâ bardan walâ sharâbâ

Ils n'y goûteront ni fraîcheur ni breuvage

They will not taste therein [any] coolness or drink

25

اِلَّا حَمِيماٗ وَغَسَاقاٗ ﰘ

Illâ hamîman waghasâqâ

Hormis une eau bouillante et un pus

Except scalding water and [foul] purulence

26

جَزَآءٗ وِفَاقاًۖ ﰙ

Jazâ'an wifâqâ

comme rétribution équitable

An appropriate recompense

27

اِنَّهُمْ كَانُواْ لَا يَرْجُونَ حِسَاباٗ ﰚ

Innahum kânû lâ yarjûna hisâbâ

Car ils ne s'attendaient pas à rendre compte

Indeed, they were not expecting an account

28

وَكَذَّبُواْ بِـَٔايَٰتِنَا كِذَّاباٗۖ ﰛ

Wakadhdhabû bi'âyâtinâ kidhdhâbâ

et traitaient de mensonges, continuellement, Nos versets

And denied Our verses with [emphatic] denial

29

وَكُلَّ شَےْءٍ اَحْصَيْنَٰهُ كِتَٰباٗۖ ﰜ

Wakulla shay'ina hsaynâhu kitâbâ

alors que Nous avons dénombré toutes choses en écrit

But all things We have enumerated in writing

30

فَذُوقُواْ فَلَن نَّزِيدَكُمُۥٓ إِلَّا عَذَاباًۖ ﰝ

Fadhûqû falan nazîdakumû illâ ‘adhâbâ

Goûtez-donc. Nous n'augmenterons pour vous que le châtiment

So taste [the penalty], and never will We increase you except in torment

31

اِنَّ لِلْمُتَّقِينَ مَفَازاً ﰞ

Inna lilmuttaqîna mafâzâ

Pour les pieux ce sera une réussite

Indeed, for the righteous is attainment

32

حَدَآئِقَ وَأَعْنَٰباٗ ﰟ

Hadâ'iqa wa'a‘nâbâ

jardins et vignes

Gardens and grapevines

33

وَكَوَاعِبَ أَتْرَاباٗ ﰠ

Wakawâ‘iba atrâbâ

et des (belles) aux seins arrondis, d'une égale jeunesse

And full-breasted [companions] of equal age

34

وَكَأْساٗ دِهَاقاٗ ﰡ

Waka'san dihâqâ

et coupes débordantes

And a full cup

35

لَّا يَسْمَعُونَ فِيهَا لَغْواٗ وَلَا كِذَّاباٗۖ ﰢ

Lâ yasma‘ûna fîhâ laghwan walâ kidhdhâbâ

Ils n'y entendront ni futilités ni mensonges

No ill speech will they hear therein or any falsehood

36

جَزَآءٗ مِّن رَّبِّكَ عَطَآءً حِسَاباٗۖ ﰣ

Jazâ'am mir rabbika ‘atâ'an hisâbâ

A titre de récompense de ton Seigneur et à titre de don abondant

[As] reward from your Lord, [a generous] gift [made due by] account

37

رَّبُّ اُ۬لسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَالَارْضِ وَمَا بَيْنَهُمَاۖ اَ۬لرَّحْمَٰنُ لَا يَمْلِكُونَ مِنْهُ خِطَاباٗۖ ﰤ

Rabbu ssamâwâti walardi wamâ baynahumâ rrahmânu lâ yamlikûna minhu khitâbâ

du Seigneur des cieux et de la terre et de ce qui existe entre eux, le Tout Miséricordieux; ils n'osent nullement Lui adresser la parole

[From] the Lord of the heavens and the earth and whatever is between them, the Most Merciful. They possess not from Him [authority for] speech

38

يَوْمَ يَقُومُ اُ۬لرُّوحُ وَالْمَلَٰٓئِكَةُ صَفّاٗ لَّا يَتَكَلَّمُونَ إِلَّا مَنَ اَذِنَ لَهُ اُ۬لرَّحْمَٰنُ وَقَالَ صَوَاباٗۖ ﰥ

Yawma yaqûmu rrûhu walmalâ'ikatu saffal lâ yatakallamûna illâ mana dhina lahu rrahmânu waqâla sawâbâ

Le jour où l'Esprit et les Anges se dresseront en rangs, nul ne saura parler, sauf celui à qui le Tout Miséricordieux aura accordé la permission, et qui dira la vérité

The Day that the Spirit and the angels will stand in rows, they will not speak except for one whom the Most Merciful permits, and he will say what is correct

39

ذَٰلِكَ اَ۬لْيَوْمُ اُ۬لْحَقُّۖ فَمَن شَآءَ اَ۪تَّخَذَ إِلَىٰ رَبِّهِۦ مَـَٔاباًۖ ﰦ

Dhâlika lyawmu lhaqqu faman shâ'a ttakhadha ilâ rabbihî ma'âbâ

Ce jour-là est inéluctable. Que celui qui veut prenne donc refuge auprès de son Seigneur

That is the True Day; so he who wills may take to his Lord a [way of] return

40

اِنَّآ أَنذَرْنَٰكُمْ عَذَاباٗ قَرِيباٗ يَوْمَ يَنظُرُ اُ۬لْمَرْءُ مَا قَدَّمَتْ يَدَٰهُ وَيَقُولُ اُ۬لْكَافِرُ يَٰلَيْتَنِے كُنتُ تُرَٰباٗۖ ﰧ

Innâ andharnâkum ‘adhâban qarîban yawma yanzuru lmar'u mâ qaddamat yadâhu wayaqûlu lkâfiru yâlaytanî kuntu turâbâ

Nous vous avons avertis d'un châtiment bien proche, le jour où l'homme verra ce que ses deux mains ont préparé; et l'infidèle dira: «Hélas pour moi! Comme j'aurais aimé n'être que poussière»

Indeed, We have warned you of a near punishment on the Day when a man will observe what his hands have put forth and the disbeliever will say, "Oh, I wish that I were dust
