Au nom d'Allah, le Tout Miséricordieux, le Très Miséricordieux. In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful.
‘amma yatasâ'alûn
Sur quoi s'interrogent-ils mutuellement
About what are they asking one another
‘ani nnaba'i l‘azîm
Sur la grande nouvelle
About the great news
Alladhî hum fîhi mukhtalifûn
à propos de laquelle ils divergent
That over which they are in disagreement
Kallâ saya‘lamûn
Eh bien non! Ils sauront bientôt
No! They are going to know
Thumma kallâ saya‘lamûn
Encore une fois, non! Ils sauront bientôt
Then, no! They are going to know
Have We not made the earth a resting place
Waljibâla awtâdâ
et (placé) les montagnes comme des piquets
And the mountains as stakes
Wakhalaqnâkumû azwâjâ
Nous vous avons créés en couples
And We created you in pairs
Waja‘alnâ nawmakum subâah
et désigné votre sommeil pour votre repos
And made your sleep [a means for] rest
Waja‘alnâ llayla libâsâ
et fait de la nuit un vêtement
And made the night as clothing
And made the day for livelihood
Wabanaynâ fawqakum sab‘an shidâdâ
And constructed above you seven strong [heavens]
And made [therein] a burning lamp
Wa'anzalnâ mina lmu‘sirâti mâ'an thajjâjâ
And sent down, from the rain clouds, pouring water
That We may bring forth thereby grain and vegetation
Wajannâtina lfâfâ
et jardins luxuriants
And gardens of entwined growth
Indeed, the Day of Judgement is an appointed time
The Day the Horn is blown and you will come forth in multitudes
And the heaven is opened and will become gateways
And the mountains are removed and will be [but] a mirage
Inna jahannama kânat mirsâdâ
L'Enfer demeure aux aguets
Indeed, Hell has been lying in wait
Littâghîna ma'âbâ
refuge pour les transgresseurs
For the transgressors, a place of return
Lâbithîna fîhâ ahqâbâ
Ils y demeureront pendant des siècles successifs
In which they will remain for ages [unending]
Lâ yadhûqûna fîhâ bardan walâ sharâbâ
Ils n'y goûteront ni fraîcheur ni breuvage
They will not taste therein [any] coolness or drink
Illâ hamîman waghasâqâ
Hormis une eau bouillante et un pus
Except scalding water and [foul] purulence
Jazâ'an wifâqâ
comme rétribution équitable
An appropriate recompense
Indeed, they were not expecting an account
Wakadhdhabû bi'âyâtinâ kidhdhâbâ
et traitaient de mensonges, continuellement, Nos versets
And denied Our verses with [emphatic] denial
But all things We have enumerated in writing
Fadhûqû falan nazîdakumû illâ ‘adhâbâ
Goûtez-donc.
So taste [the penalty], and never will We increase you except in torment
Inna lilmuttaqîna mafâzâ
Pour les pieux ce sera une réussite
Indeed, for the righteous is attainment
Hadâ'iqa wa'a‘nâbâ
jardins et vignes
Gardens and grapevines
And full-breasted [companions] of equal age
Waka'san dihâqâ
et coupes débordantes
And a full cup
Lâ yasma‘ûna fîhâ laghwan walâ kidhdhâbâ
Ils n'y entendront ni futilités ni mensonges
No ill speech will they hear therein or any falsehood
[As] reward from your Lord, [a generous] gift [made due by] account
[From] the Lord of the heavens and the earth and whatever is between them, the Most Merciful. They possess not from Him [authority for] speech
The Day that the Spirit and the angels will stand in rows, they will not speak except for one whom the Most Merciful permits, and he will say what is correct
Dhâlika lyawmu lhaqqu faman shâ'a ttakhadha ilâ rabbihî ma'âbâ
That is the True Day; so he who wills may take to his Lord a [way of] return
Indeed, We have warned you of a near punishment on the Day when a man will observe what his hands have put forth and the disbeliever will say, "Oh, I wish that I were dust
